L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Solar Lavender

I use the OG L'eau D'issey Pour Homme since 2000 and be my signature scent till now (even have 125ml bottle+200ml bottle as backup now) Because I really love light scent with beauty complexity starting uplifting and bright with drydown on woody fresh profile. It's because I live in a country with humid and 27°~35°C all year. Mostly winter fragrance won't work so much unless going to clubbing and some event with Aircon. This Solar Lavender might be my next future signature scent and should be rated higher I don't know why give it only 3.77 point when I write this review. I want to share my story and call it my ☯️ Yin Yang Combo! I have nighttime fragrance that I love so much is JPG Le Male Le Parfum because of it's 🪻 Lavender, woody and moderate Powdery and that makes me feel not so Sticky when its a bit warm in the night time pretty safe. Sadly if Le Male Le Parfum use on day time that really hot, damn it's cloying. Then come this Solar Lavender brings the same vibe of Le Male Le Parfum to fight Day Time 🔥 Summer . It's really Uplifting , Polite , Clean , and Simple but also light in complexity. Signature night fragrance Le Male Le Parfum : -Lavender -Moderate Powdery -Woody -Warm Spicy -Dark and Sweet Signature daytime fragrance : -Lavender -a bit Powdery -Woody -Fresh Spicy -Bright and Aquatic fresh Such a ☯️ Yin Yang Combo 🥰 Do you know Le Male Le Parfum is so strong even after we take a shower we still can sniff the scent even after we take a shower. It's push the Solar Lavender got longevity to over 8hrs even some times can reach 10hrs. Seems like it was automatically got layered with daily activity. It's also bring me the vibe I'm a Masculine Dark Alluring Man on the night but became such a Polite Calm Clean Simple man on the day. The Lavender on this but also on Le Male Le Parfum it's not feminine very safe and also natural and smooth scent. This bring me to the next level signature scent. Hopefully both of them won't get discontinued or reformulated later. I'm planning to buy 200ml bottle of both this fragrance when it's available in Indonesia. And seems like stick around with this 2 fragrance for a very long time. (Yeah I'm a boring person, because when I got my signature scent that fit my skin chemistry I will stick on it for years) I was planning to left the L'eau D'issey Pour Homme OG because it's not like performance back in 2000. The bottle changed 3 times as long as I remembered, I'm not sure when it got reformulated.

Interesting that is is part of the L'eau D'issey line, this could easily stand on its own, but I guess that's harder to sell, which makes sense because that's how it caught my eye. The bottle is gorgeous, really dig the wooden cap, but I kinda get scared of accidentally breaking it and make it all loose lol. Did not notice that signature DNA, but that's not a bad thing. I was very early into my fragrance journey when I came across this, $60 cad at Winners, went it blind and it WOWED me, unlike most that I see and smelt on sephora shelves, it was instantly uplifting, I couldn't stop smelling my wrists when I wore it for the first time lol. This along with the OG L'eau D'issey are two scents I would love to be able to smell again for the first time. I really really like this one. I don't hate the simplicity of the notes, if I like it, I like it. It's fresh, airy, clean, soapy and bright, like you're out on a breezy spring, summer day after a fresh shower, very calming for me. I see one review saying it gives snuggly rainy day energy and I see it too! And boy it still lingered at hour 7-8, definitely lives up to the name Intense, even though I get wafts of it from my wrists without moving it, I don't think it has strong projection, it's rather intimate, cause others don't really notice it until they give me a hug later, which is interesting how that works, a personal/intimate bubble. I thought I would be alone with liking this, since it's not talked about much, and a lot of reviews here don't like it, then one day my girl smells it on me and gave me that "woah what is this" face, then went back for seconds LOL, she said she really liked it on me, so yay! This is an unexpected intimate/sexy time scent, which I did not think of it as such at all until I was snuggling with my girl.

L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Solar Lavender Issey Miyake is pretty decent for a designer scent. It's the latest flanker under Issey's L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme line. I have a total of 9 Issey scent now. The Sichuan pepper pronounces itself right from the opening with it's aromatic, herbal, spiciness, with a citrus touch. The Lavender🪻 being the main dominant note here gives the scent the aromatic floral clean note, with green, fresh spicy, licorice facets. In my opinion the dry down is great with the soft woody note coming from the cedarwood. To some of you Solar Lavender may come across as abit synthetic but the scent is obviously created to mass appeal to everyone and particular Issey's fans or collectors of this line. I won't say it's particularly impressive, however it's versatile as it's office, school, meeting safe. Of course, Lavender🪻 would definitely love this. The common use of Lavender🪻 across many products may make the scent nothing special though. Amongst the newer releases past years I think Wood & Wood from 2019 is still one of the better one. And my favorite is still Noir Amber from 2016 and the Parfum isn't pretty good too. Longevity is pretty decent, half day or perhaps 4-6 hours at least depending on climate and conditions. Fans of Dior Sauvage may like this too in my opinion and it'll definitely appeal to fans of designer scents.

!!!! I gotta spray this one at least 12x but...... this one’s a keeper!!! I’m not the biggest fan of the OG, but the OG DNA is present in this blend. The first 15-20 can be hard to wrap your thoughts around, but give it time for the harshness to settle down and you might fall in love with this scent. In my opinion this has Great longevity, not the strongest projector, but It’s still detectable the next day . It just pops up outta nowhere & you’ll randomly experience the cleanest lavender scent and you’ll then know why you bought this one.. and perhaps you’ll love it just as much as I do.. I have a LARGE almost ridiculous collection with many many options and choices , and I still find myself craving for this one like a true fragrance junkie💯

Despite the simplicity of the notes and scents, it is a perfume that I use very fondly and always receive compliments from those around me. When I spray the perfume, I feel like I am smelling lavender next to a citrus garden and I like it very much. The smell is very suitable for general taste and in my opinion, it is a fresh perfume that can be used for all 3 seasons except winter. In my opinion, this perfume deserves 8 out of 10 due to its affordability and the longevity and spread of the perfume. If you love lavender and are looking for a fresh perfume, this is exactly the perfume you are looking for. If you like such scents, it is a 10 out of 10 perfume for you. But the bottle design could have been done better

I love lavender, and this fragrance is basically an ode to it, so it's only fair that i love this fragrance too. This starts off pretty punchy and spicy but in a very fresh and refreshing way with the sichuan pepper, it then tones down into gentle airy aromatic lavender that's like in a vase of cedar wood. Just a heads up, it's not lavender essential oil like; it's much more light and diluted which is honestly more inviting so i see why they did that. However, that same diluted nature is what makes the performance pretty lacking, but it's to be expected with a delicate scent like this

I often find myself choosing this over some of my other fragrances that I'd probably say I like more so that says something. I love the woody smell combined with the lavender. it always reminds me of a woodland meadow, fresh and floral with those cedar tones to support it. It's close to a Sauvage with less of the aquatic scent and more of a woodland tone instead I've seen some people leaving reviews saying this was dark or spicy which is wild to me, this is such a light, fresh and clean smell in my opinion but it's probably best to try it and see for yourself.

It's very nice! My ex girlfriend always said a lavender dominant fragrance would suit me well and I'd have to agree after trying this. It's "bright" in the way that a forest or meadow is in the evening during summer, that is to say peaceful and refreshing but not overly so. I do wish it was a bit more complex though, some more earthy and petrichor notes would suit it well. Almost wish they made an "overcast lavender" version instead. I find wearing it over some encre noire to achieves this though, and that scent is really something imho.

This is a great summer fragrance BUT not your typical summer beach vibe. It's more like a sunny field and 'close to the forrest when the summer just getting started' type of a fragrance. You can smell on of the most accurate lavender in this. But it has definitelly has elder blossom or flower note in it. For me smells like a fresh elder blossom syrup beverage with lavender. Fresh, fizy, flowery and bit citrusy. Or just imagine when you walk by a lavender and a blossoming elder field near to a cedar forest.

I think I used 1/4th of the bottle just on the first day. Damn that opening is so nice. I actually really like this and had hope that my skin would cooperate and I’d get decent longevity. I went into this knowing that longevity was an issue for most but I was no different. Gorgeous scent I’d say good for a spritz at home or even as a bedtime scent to smell as you fall asleep. If this had at least 6 hours on me I’d almost say it could work for an office/work scent.

Fresh, Bright, Soft, Clean, still masculine. Something I can spray a lot of, smell great and not worry Im putting anyone out whether it be at the office, gym or about town. This isnt Aventus, Tygar or Afternoon Swim - but its even easier to wear. I love this and appreciate it for what it is. This is an easy to wear summer fragrance that sets its own trend. Easily one of my more favored, agreeable Lavender fragrances.

Bought this for my husband and he loves it! The smell still lingers even after 8-9 hours of work, although faintly. This is defo for men who want to smell good but not overbearing.

i’m not the target audience for this fragrance. i received this in a fragrance tester box. but let me just say.. this fragrance is sooo sexy. i’m in love.

Works really well with my skin chemistry. Clean, fresh and I'm getting the lavender. Almost soapy, Love it!

Sprayed this morning together with OG to compare both during the day in the office. This is a pleasent scent: simple, fresh, clean, airy bright and quite aromatic. Perfect for sunny spring/summer days, but I can see getting lost super easily when the weather gets colder or in a very cloudy/rainy day. Solar lavender opens with a peppery smell with a hint of the yuzu/citrouses DNA of the OG, but in a far less harsher way, as the bomb of yuzu of the OG puts many people off. Quickly the dry lavender/cedar combo pops ups and becomes the main character of the fragance with the pepper slowly fading away. And that's it, there is nothing else happening for the rest of its life. This is a very linear and one dimensional fragance, not a problem for the masses, but a bit dissapointing for people more into the fragance scene. In comparison, the OG is a much more complex fragance with the mix of citruses and herbs in the opening, flowers and spices in the middle, and that genius silky, soothing base with the sandalwood, ambar and musk that makes me love it so much. Anyway, Solar lavender misses to be a solid option as a simple daily signature scent as performance is its biggest drawback of this fragance. 2h in and becomes a skin scent, when the OG still projects at an arm length. 4h in and it's pretty much gone, when the OG lasts up to 7-8h. Not worth to spend the money here for such shortcoming fragance when the market is flooded with more complex or long lasting options even within Issey like the OG or the Intense version.

Damn, do I love when boys smell like this. This is one of those rare cases where the official description is dead on: “Hot meets cold, aromatic meets aquatic.” It isn’t loud or showy. It’s smooth, fresh, woody, and quietly magnetic. Lavender, but make it dim lights, storm clouds, and unbuttoned shirts. It smells like a man who’s both present and mysterious, gorgeous in that relaxed way, and completely unaware of how lethal he is. From top to bottom, it’s exactly my taste. Fresh but grounded. Watery but not weak. Lavender, pepper, and cedarwood in perfect balance, like they know exactly what they’re doing. The bottle is beautiful, too. Clean lines, minimalist aesthetic, blue-purple haze, wood cap. Designer monkcore with after-hours sex appeal. Despite the “solar” in its name, this gives full-on rainy-day energy. Windows fogged up, a blanket between you, him half-distracted by your hands while the scent rises off his collarbones. Projection is intimate. The kind you only notice when you’re already too close to pull away. Some call it boring. All I’ll say is: when he wears it, he won’t be bored. Or steady on his feet for long. 🌧️💜 4/5. Rainy lavender with stay-the-night energy.

L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Solar Lavender Issey Miyake is an aromatic, powdery and woody fragrance. It has a citrusy, slightly earthy/mineral and spicy opening. As the minutes pass, a lavender accord appears very similar to that of some oils or talcs. The lavender is notable, but it is not managed like in fougeres where it is accompanied by notable strong herbs, because here it smells more like an infusion lavender After 2 hours the fragrance is left with a woody and musky base. Solar Lavender could be used all year round except for winter, because it lacks intensity in woods, it is more of a daytime fragrance, perfect for spring, summer and autumn. It has a slightly relaxing aroma, for casual outings or personal enjoyment. Its longevity is average, it stayed with me for a maximum of 6 hours. and except for the first 30 minutes, it is very close to the skin. The aroma is very pleasant, I liked it a lot, but I think it falls a little short on performance, I still recommend that you try it and make your own judgment as to whether your purchase is worth it or not.

Modern and sweet. Rindy grapefruit, spicy pepper. It's dark and aromatic. Spicy oakmoss, turns grassy and a little animalic. Remains peppery, has some musk, kinda chypre-esque. Further notes of vetiver and moss then something minty/herbal. Still citrussy, develops modern amber-wood accord. Tonka. Maybe some patchouli, sweet and woody on skin. Performance isn't that bad, smells classicly Masculine but with a modern twist. Good for ages 25+, and more of a day scent. Reminds me of L'Eau D'Issey Intense a lot, and even the drydown of OG Eau Sauvage. I like it.

#1745 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Got this spray sample from scentwithsense.com. Unusually likable. Surprised they have discontinued it like everything else Miyake’s done that smelled good. Basically it’s like Dior “Sauvage” EDT with more lavender. Same peppery lavender vibe. It’s a nice scent, but like all EDTs it’s a weak performer and so a waste of money. Skip this and go for an EDP, either of Sauvage itself, or one of the better clones like Maison Alhambra “Salvo Intense” which goes for $20. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

I like it a lot. Saw the Sichuan pepper and expected something like Amouage Journey but it’s very light in this. Main notes are definitely lavender and then the cedar. It’s fresh and bright with bit of lotion like cleanness. It has moderate projection but the longevity on me is in the moderate to high range tho. Would be great for a hot sunny day in the beach or a hang out session with the friends in the day.

Opening is very bright, somewhat citrusy. Then calms down to a nice woody lavender. Can smell it on my skin for hours on hours but it’s not loud. Definitely have to overspray to actually get noticeable. The smell itself is pleasant but kind of basic. But basic is sometimes all you need, it’s a great scent just not too loud. Got mine off eBay for 40 bucks and it’s been a good purchase so far.

I really like this scent, one of my favs from the house, this is really herbal and overall a pleasant smell, big fan of lavender and the blend of woods and pepper here comes together to smell like a drink? Reminds me very much of tonic water, I find this absolutely beautiful, maybe I'll layer this with tdh eau givree for a gin&tonic feel xD smells great, worth a sniff for sure

Similar light performance to most of the L'eau D'Issey line with respect to silage and longevity, leads with very pleasant woody lavender that I enjoy with hints of the classic Issey yuzu. Inoffensive fresh bright clean scent that would work in everyday use. 4/5

Love the smell - a nice affordable alternative to my longtime love L'Occitan. Too bad the performance is so weak - maybe 3-4 hours tops before disappearing. But you can get it for less than $40 so reapplying works.

Affordable, yet good quality. Much better than what you can find with the clone houses at a similar price range. It is quite simple, but sometimes you want just that.

warm and refreshing. its a friendly masculine lavender, nothing too complicated. starts off strong but doesn't last. might be a nice one to wear to bed

if you like that every year issey delivers some new fresh frag, you will enjoy it. it's optimistic, fresh, somewhat original but sadly very weak. 6/10

It's hot outside, the sun is shining, everything is good and you just want a light, fresh, comforting scent of pepper, lavender and cedar. This is it.

Smell 80% like the OG but with a nice mix of lavender. I like it! But it seems a little weak which is typical for a light scent

This fragrence is very soapy and fresh perfect after a shower. And its also not too expensiv.

Smells just like Speed Stick deodorant, the Fresh one.

The notes listed are NOT completely correct. Hopefully, Fragrantica updates this entry. The top notes are grapefruit, sichuan pepper, and nutmeg. The heart of the fragrance is indeed lavender with minor traces of the geranium bourbon plant, but vetiver and cedarwood compose the base of the fragrance. I ordered the fragrance from a discounter as a work scent, and I am waiting to receive it. I will update my review once I receive the scent. EDIT 01/29/2025--So, Solar Lavender DOES NOT remind me of 3 AM by Puff. They're two totally different scents, so Fragrantica's "This Fragrance Reminds Me Of" section and votes are not nowhere near accurate. Solar Lavender is a fairly light scent to my nose. The lavender isn't over powering, but one can still make out that it is a lavender men's scent that is perfect for the Spring, Summer, and warmer Fall day time. I use it as my work scent, lol. I would not pay anymore than $60.00 for Solar Lavender, but I actually got it for a great deal of $20.00 off. It is nice smelling scent. Good job, Issey Miyake. But, the longevity lacks. I get about 6 hours out of Solar Lavender, but it is definitely a skin scent after after 2 hours. It's a nice work fragrance, but it's not a scent that I would personally buy again. Like I say in all my reviews, this is all just my opinion. Take opinions and reviews with a grain of salt. Everyone has an opinion regarding smells. Some people love a specific fragrance. Some people hate it. Some people lie regarding reviews and opinions. Some state the truth. My advice is for you to GET A SAMPLE OF ANY FRAGRANCE BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO BUYING IT. I LOVE Issey Miyake, it's probably my favorite fragrance house. They had many legends formulated by LV's master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. Over the years between 2014-2020 they released some unbelievably beautiful niche quality scents and show stoppers, that went mostly under the radar, although many are beloved by the community. I don't know what happened to IM following the legendary Nuit D'issey flankers and the two Middle Eastern exclusive L'eau D'issey flankers, but a stream of boring, generic, mediocre smelling scents came out. This one was the worst of the pack. Performance is horrible, the scent profile is almost non-existent, it actually smells like it only has 3 bites in it. Please, IM, I'm not asking you to revive classics, but please start bringing on guys like Ropion and Christophe Reynaud again for some more thought provoking creations. Please more scents that are meant to be worn on a cold night.

I'm a big fan of the original 1994 release. It's a true yuzu bomb that still holds up beautifully on warm days even today. I also love lavender, so I figured I'd give this one a try. In short: they've added a fresh, watery lavender opening to the original DNA. Don't expect a massive scent trail, and you'll need to spray it quite generously. Personally, I don't think it's worth more than €50. If you already own the original, there's really no need to buy this one. It's not a bad fragrance by any means, but in my opinion the longevity doesn't come close to the level we've come to expect from Miyake.

This the worst fragrance in the L'eau D'issey Pour Homme line. It doesn't smell bad, but it's so simple and boring. The performance is also horrendous. I couldn't even smell it on myself after about an hour with 5 sprays. Calling this an Eau de Toilette Intense is disgraceful. There is nothing Intense about this release. If you want to know what an EDT Intense should really be like, go talk to Kenzo. You can barely smell the lavender, no sign of the Sichuan pepper, just cedar and non-descript florals with a slight hint of citrus. Issey Miyake is my favorite house, but this is absolutely pathetic.

a faint woody scent that lingers on the skin and is actually quite unique. non heading inducing. there’s something specifically nostalgic about it; simple, understated, but still captivating. i think it settles into a softer & more intimate presence. i don’t dislike it, but i don't love it either. i think that there’s a lot to appreciate about the scent profile, however, it faded REALLY quickly. like after ~30 minutes, i couldn’t smell it anymore... i do think there are other fragrances out there with a similar profile that deliver a bit more longevity and impact overall.

The peppery opening on initial blast from the atomizer reminded me more of white pepper than sichuan, and if you know white pepper you know it is great for cooking but smells kind of like a barnyard. The resulting mixture of "white pepper" and lavender reminded me of public toilets, so sample it before you buy. Luckily, the opening blends quickly and you're left with a good three note.

This is far from OG dna. Very generic and mainstream, not unique. There is NO lavender. Zero. This is a typical Acqua Di Gio Profondo style aquatic. Some citruses mix with aquatics and that’s about it. Too bad Issey choose a boring line after all the good stuff they had. Next one for test will be Le Sel d’Issey.

I really do like this fragrance, the opening is beautiful, but it dries down to something Less exciting and after approximately 2 hours, it’s gone (on my skin anyway) a real shame IM have made this so weak. I have the large bottle and have nearly used it all in less than a month.

not really lovin' these IM flakers lately. The 'Nuit' flankers are certified bangers however, these latest Eau d'Issey feel too much like the original with hints of Vetiver (last year) and hints of lavender (this one). I'd much rather have something new with hints of the OG.

It is a pleasant linear scent suited for the spring and summer. The scent accord is predominantly a dry and light lavender and cedar. The herbal greenness under the lavender reminds me of L'Eau d'Issey Summer.

The L'Eau D'Issey DNA is there, but you wind up wondering why they bothered. Inoffensive, more than slightly feminine, weak longevity, and utterly forgettable.

Very neutral liner scent. Over spray and you may smell it with out sticking your nose to you wrist. Might be worth to buy if it was 20 dollars.

If there is one word I use to describe this fragrance: underwhelming. Basically underwhelming on all fronts, even though it smells nice.

I wished for this fragrance for Christmas, because I like Fusion d'Issey from the same brand, but this is terrible. Really weak smell, you could call it elegant if it stayed and didn't disappear so fast. Gone in 40 - 60 minutes. I sprayed it a few times on me, asked my sister and mom in 30 minutes if they smelled it and they were trying to be nice, but they didn't really smell it. Me neither. My bad, I shouldn't have wanted a blind buy, just because you like one fragrance from a brand doesn't mean you'll enjoy another. Maybe it's because it is 100% natural and vegan, so it doesn't even stand a chance of having any stay power. But it doesn't smell clean like it's natural, it still smells artificial-like. Final thoughts: TEST BEFORE YOU BUY!

Purchased on a whim (the price was right). Very synthetic ozonic lavender with a 'solar' note that reminds me of urine more than sunshine. The wrong yellow for me. The review directly beneath this is trying to sell you on some weird sexy kink imagery. Maybe the author is into water sports? Strangulation? Shoving bottles with wood caps into places they probably don't belong? Maybe they're just German. No judgement if #1, choking out your mate, or foreign objects are your kink. Tinkle just isn't my thing, and anyone buying this should know what they're getting into instead of being convinced if they smell like "solar lavender" they'll land a night with an Angelina Jolie look-alike. I love the original version—it’s bright, fresh, and lasts well. But this new one is a total letdown. It smells like generic soap, and there’s nothing unique about it. I’m not sure if it’s because I tested it or if it’s always like this, but the sillage is incredibly weak. I sprayed it on my clothes and couldn’t smell it until I got right up to them. Overall, it’s a disappointing fragrance both in terms of scent and performance

At first it's easy to recognize the Eau d'Issey line with lavender added, but very quickly it literally becomes a scent of perspiration! 🤢 The smell of perspiration then fades and the fragrance becomes more classic for this line
