Let me tell you a brief story: - I have enough Issey Miyake fragrances. And surely, I had the complete intention of buying something different when I met this perfume. I tried it without desire... Along with all the new fragrances of the store, and some great perfumes that I still don't have and I was really eager to buy. Well... For me, it was love at first sniff. Of course, I bought it. This fragrance is modern, sophisticated, cool, seductive, addictive... Like a beautifully designed Super 180'S suit: Easy to wear and easy to enjoy. Isn't it a work of art..? Does that matter..? What it is, is a coooool scent. Simply that. Sillage: Moderate, perfect for: - Professional & Personal meetings (It projects confidence and empathy). ... And romantic dates (invites to approach). Longevity: Very good > 8h. I can even feel it perfectly the next morning after sleeping, on my skin. Mood: Uplifting & Relaxing at the same time. Scenario & Lifestyle: The scent of a modern and stylish executive. For spring, beginning of summer and warm autumn. I am not a person who cares about compliments, but with this fragrance I received a lot. So for me, in this current fragrance game, this is a winning hand. UPDATE: I read some people saying that it smells good, but it's generic. ... What? That's ridiculous: Maybe it's true that this fragrance follows the latest trends, yes: Precisely designers play the *fashion* game, right?... But this one has unique nuances that set it completely apart from others. Without the slightest doubt. I know ALL the new releases from the designers... And I can distinguish this one among all of them a few meters away. You can't..? - So maybe the fragrance isn't generic, but your nose.

A fruity-woody scent for lovers of L'Eau d'Issey who also like the best selling men's releases over the last 10 years - but only if you're looking for a lower projection scent. Yes, there are some generic, modern, sweet-ambroxan fruity-patchouli facets to this, but I think it's pretty good - in a young, modern, mall-goer sort of way. The scent is rather warm, fruity, and sparkling. Much of the bright opening of citrus+wood reminds me of Bleu De Chanel EDT on skin, but in the air, smells a lot like the base of Polo Red. As the other Tony said below, it's safe/friendly. Office safe, date friendly, long lasting, but lower projection, and not necessarily in a bad way, if strong scents aren't your thing. This may not be a sought after scent for most collectors, but I'm willing to bet the general populous will like this scent. Shares similarities with Polo Red, Dior Sauvage, Bleu De Chanel, but projection is really lacking. Midway through, there are similarities to a woodier Invictus. Further in the drydown, there are similarities to Azzaro Wanted. At the 16 hour point I can still smell this (from 2 sprays) with my nose pressed to my skin and it's smelling a lot like Nuit d’Issey. It really does last on skin, the problem is its projection - you'd need to be up close to catch a whiff. Lastly, I LOVE this bottle. Or, at least, the wooden cap. That had to be hard to make! I might keep it for the wooden Issey Miyake cap alone! 😅 But I'm most excited to layer it with Polo Red.

Yes, the name is misleading. It should really be called OtherStuff&Wood because it has all these other things going on but the wood is still definitely there, more an undertone than a front note. With that aside, this is a masterpiece and my favorite Issey Miyake fragrance of the 14 I've tried. It's SO versatile. It will fit in for any season and any occasion from night out at the bar to white-tie wedding. No, it may not be the BEST for any of those occasions, but it will fit quite well. Performance for me seems to depend on the person. It lasts just okay for me, but I gave my friend a sample and it barely lasted past a couple hours on her. (Side note: she loves it otherwise.) Notes-wise, I actually get juicy stone fruits (apricot is fitting) and the patchouli is definitely there. Woodsy throughout but like I said, the wood is always more a background player. Very, very unisex, very inoffensive. Not loud AT ALL which I like because I never want my perfume to be someone else's problem. The longevity is my one issue with it, but because it's so cheap on discounters, you can overspray if you'd like. I highly recommend this as a starter perfume or as something that has a place in anyone's collection as a dumb reach/light daily wear!

The wood is evident. The rest of the fragrance has a dry fruit aroma and something that comes off tonic like. I brought this for fall and early winter at home with my hardwood floors and heavy oak furniture working on various career projects. I don't do "pause for alcohol" cheapies but I can't afford to spray something expensive just because either. This was $66 for a 3.4oz at my favorite general buy option. It can be had for as low as $54 from a reputable source. It's value is equal to it's quality, so while the wood and entire composition is simple it doesn't smell cheap. The drydown maintains integrity. They're some nutty whiffs and fruity waves in the composition but not as vibrant as I would like. I won't call it boring if it's consistent. The performance is less than average keeping this in the home body lane. Armani's Abslou Instinct is a richer meal featuring ebony wood. For people who came up in the sweet tonka era, they may not get the full woods and it will come off like an Invictus style fragrance with it's citrus top going creamy sweet. The unlisted tonka doesn't lay heavy on me, I get the woods smell.

My utmost favorite 'Issey Miyake Pour Homme' cologne. 'Wood & Wood' opens wide and tarty with citrus and cardamom, although transitions quickly into the middle notes; it is heavenly. I am not sure why it is called "Wood & Wood" because the majority of the woodsy notes are way in the background. Apricot, ambroxan and sandalwood steal the show during its power play. I do not agree with some reviewers describing this as a weak scent; it is solid, fruitful and creamy. The sillage is outstanding, it will outlast most of my higher value colognes. 'Wood & Wood' smells like a blooming apricot tree during summertime, it is my best description for it. The woody notes will reveal themselves during the base performance, as a skin scent. I sampled before buying, which is my advice. I'm overall very satisfied and will fully enjoy it for years to come.

This is my favourite fragrance, I think its perfect for weather up to around 24 degrees (Celsius). I would recommend it for relaxation, it smells natural and doesn't give me any headache or heartburn from over spraying like some other fragrances which is a big plus if you aren't being too careful about your spraying. The woody notes are really nice and they don't overpower the rest of the ingredients. All in all wood and wood is a very mature and distinguished scent, if you want to smell different from others while still wearing a reputable and fashionable brand without wearing something so out there that it isn't to the palette of others I would highly recommend!!!

The grapefruit notes on this are absolutely beautiful, and it's not as woody as you would expect from the name. It opens very fresh, and dries down to a more subtle vaguely woodsy scent but after one or two hours the sillage is really quite laughable. Very versatile, I really love this scnet for day-to-day wear but I'm not sure if I'll be repurchasing because its longevity isn't that great for its price point. I like wearing this to work though, not too loud, but pleasant.

After so many releases, this is the one Issey Miyake fragrance that I loved! But the name is a little misleading though. Since in my opinion, this one is nowhere near the woody type. Yeş, it sure has woody notes in it but I smell so much of airy fruity notes on this one. More of fresh, a little sour & sweet fruits. Such a shame after couple of hours the smell dissapears! So little longevity and so little sillage it has. At least this is what I experienced...

This is very good for office and business meetings. It is not loud and not offending. Decent sillage and longevity for professional purposes. I agree that the name is kind of misleading. This is not very woody as the name indicates, but smells extremely nice and enjoyable. Masculine and easy to wear all year round. The scent will compliment your dapper presence, not overpowering it. Very classy, indeed.

One of my favourite fragrances. Opening is nice, grapefruity and bitter. Drydown is just amazing, it's woody, aromatic and a little sweet, probably thanks to ambroxan. Sadly, but performance isn't great. Projection is pretty good for the first hour or two, but it disappears really quickly,. For me it's about 5-6 hours. If it wasn't for this, it would probably be my signature fragrance.

I thought it is nothing special but in fact a lot of girls love it. Friends tried a dozen of my fragrance collection and this is what they chose. Maybe the apricot makes it a little unique, imo. So dear everyone, the reality is usually different from Youtube Reviewers and even our own perspective.

I agree that there's not much wood in here but detectable at dry down. I'm enjoying the apricot note though, it's a great scent and really enjoyable to wear. It's good to have in my collection, got it at a cheaper price which is very nice 🙂

L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Wood & Wood Issey Miyake This is very nice, better than Vetiver and eau..but it still has below average performance, lasts just about 2-3 hours that's about it and I can hardly sniff from my arms.

Bright, smooth, effervescent, humble, and oh so versatile. Such a pleasant, easy wear. A reminder that not every scent needs to be a dense, complex, showstopping masterpiece. Sometimes it's okay to blend in.

Love this fragrance so much! Starts with sweet tasty top notes and then continues with woody. It reminds me my first fragrance, Boss Absolute, but more sweet and tasty. Definitely will buy again!

This is my favorite house freshie use case during deep winter oud season. It's a decent community wear in the fall, not so much spring for me, where I get into blue fragrances.

Sweet lord almighty! Don't believe the nay-sayers. This juice is strong and potent. Wait for the dry down to experience the magic, when the patchouli comes alive. Magic stuff.

The fragrance feels delectable, delicious, fruity, gentle, inviting, mild, natural, sweet resinous, rich, sweet, unisex, woody, and pleasant.

Most of my purchases lately have wood scents in them. I had a sniff of this at Landmark Makati with Vetiver and I liked them both. To add to the package, IM placed a wooden cap on both flankers which is something unique and welcomed. The name of this frag Wood and Wood is a misnomer. You would be expecting a woody note from start to finish. I'm not sure if this was a disappointment as I was expecting more of wood. Opening you would smell something cola-ish. Not Coke but more of Cola candy. Then it begins to dry down with a citrus and powdery scent. As I was smelling my arm, I was waiting for that woody vibe but it just came out on the dry down when it became skin scent. On the initial spray in my normal areas, you might mistake this as IM's Vetiver. Longevity is weak at 3-4 hours. Projection is there on respray but short lived. I am not expecting much on Sillage here. It's a good day time scent but use something else for formal occasions and night dates. I like the bottle of Issey Miyake. This is far from the OG as IM is trying to open their horizons to other scents. I was surprised that they have a lot of flanker releases already but some of them are hard to find. I'd classify this as a weak fragrance but smell is on the average. If you are looking for a woody scent, I won't be suggesting this as I myself got disappointed on my expectations.

Let's get this out of the way: yes, the name of this fragrance was a poor choice by Issey Miyake. Now with that said, it's actually a very pleasant scent. The apricot is apparent from the initial spray, and stays for the drydown as well, which makes it kind of unique. I do get some woods during the drydown, but to name this "Wood & Wood" is a complete misfire by the marketing team; it gives the impression of a totally different scent. It's a very versatile fragrance, I'd say it's a year rounder. I could see this working in the dead of winter and even in high heat, although there are definitely better options for both seasons if you have a larger collection. However, if you don't have or want a large collection, this is a perfect fragrance for you. Office wear, dates, casual get-togethers, family dinners, you name it. This fragrance would be great for all of the above. Longevity and sillage are about average, nothing to scoff at. You definitely won't offend anyone with it either, and you actually might garner some compliments. I'd say this is a safe blind buy, as long as you know what to expect: this isn't a wood-heavy scent, it's actually very fruity. Overall 7.5/10

L'Eau d Issey Pour Homme Wood & Wood is a woody, spicy and slightly citrus fragrance. The opening is citrus and spicy, it reminds me a little of the opening of Nuit Issey, with those notes of grapefruit and spices like cardamom and pepper. This opening phase smells very good, I liked it. As time passes the aroma becomes woody and amber, but at the same time less interesting than the opening, because it loses uniqueness and the aroma becomes more common. Wood & Wood would use it in intermediate seasons like spring or autumn, since it is not completely fresh despite the citrus, nor so warm, because although the spices are perceived very well in the first hour, the aroma becomes something more aromatic and woody. Its longevity was 6 hours and a regular sillage for the first hour, but then it goes down to skin level. In general, it is a versatile fragrance, the aroma is not too spicy or fresh, but the performance falls short of other fragrances from the same designer, although the aroma is delicious without a doubt. For this reason my suggestion is that you try it before buying.

I love the Issey Miyake house, even the scents I disliked (or even hate) managed to come around and turn into a 'Love' (Sport and Super Majeure). I read reviews of Wood & Wood and even though it got a lot of hate the description was interesting enough to me to make me think I would like it I mean, Apricot, Ambroxan, Grapefruit and Woods... what could go wrong? L'Eau d'Issey Wood & Wood smells fruity and fresh, no woods to be found which is fine the problem is how synthetic and cheap it smells, it's headache inducing and it has no redeeming qualities (at least not yet, perhaps with time I'll change my mind). BTW what's with the name? there are no woods here, perhaps there are but it's not the first thing one smells. I really REALLY wanted to like this one

I think it's quite nice, and from a lot of similar fragrances I'd probably consider this one. It's light, and extremely enjoyable. However, as mentioned, this isn't entirely distinctive; the cardamom, ambroxan and cedar create an easily identifiable body that many mainstream (and niche, in some cases) masculine fragrances possess. Worth owning if you don't have fragrances that smell similar as it's definitely more enjoyable than a lot of the others. I'd buy it. Maybe not yet, but I am in need of something like this. It lasts reasonably well, projects reasonably well and is easy to find for a good price even at department stores. I saw a 100mL bottle today for about 65AUD. Not bad at all.

Wonderful citrus open typical of a Miyake, a tangy grapefruit leading the way. On middle notes I get a sweet fruit, like a dried apricot. Later towards dry down the scent gets bluer with a woody shower gel (but still very citrus) feel. Wood & wood name is presumably for the sandalwood and cedarwood, but I think it could have been Grapefruit and Shower Gel as those notes are stronger throughout. It's a lovely scent, just misleading a little. I wanted something clean for doing my weekly grocery store runs, and this definitely does the trick -- on skin it stopped projecting somewhat quickly (acts like an EDT), but did much better on clothes, where it held those opening and mid notes.

Why do I sense that this one is strikingly similar to Bvlgari Man Wood Essence? A pleasant fragrance best suited for autumn. I was on the fence about this one for a while because some YouTube reviews seemed indifferent to it. But I'm glad I got a sample. In my opinion, this one is decent. Contrary to some of the reviews below, I smell both wood and apricot at the same time. The blend is lovely and somehow the ambroxan doesn't bother me much in this one. Give it a try. You might like it, but don't overspray. Edit: That ambroxan note becomes prominent after a few hours. Now I don't like it as much.

A surprisingly good scent, and for one called Wood & Wood, the wood notes are surprisingly soft. Compared to the strong cedar of Dior Homme 2020 or the pine of Bottega Veneta, the wood in this is soft and takes a supporting role. Up top are beautiful soft citruses, and a touch of spice and apricot. The dry-down blends in the typical, Invictus-esque sweet, ambroxan designer smell. This would be a fantastic daytime scent, if not for the mediocre performance. I think you'd need a travel atomiser to make this work.

Unique fragrance smell in a really nice all year around fruity sweet combo. Apricot is there strong and prominent following grapefruit and woody/abroxan notes. I would not say there is any vetiver or patchouli there maybe due to the fact that after few hours it disappear so you are not able to pick any smell. All year around cologne, really pleasant to wear and safe to blind buy if you like more fruity sweet fragrances in general. Longevity and projection are poor. Thats the big downside to this fragrance

Lovely woody perfume with a slight fruity hint. It's not the longest lasting (gone in 2-4 hours), a bit generic, but overall true to the name Wood & Wood. The grapefruit gives it a nice start, the apricot is virtually non-existant. The cardamom and patchouli are pretty strong, the woods are pretty strong and prominent. I've asked my boyfriend and he said that even though it's pleasant, he wouldn't like a second bottle.

This is very easy to wear and has a nice fruity scent that smells of good quality, I would compare its scent to wanted by night by azzaro, id say they're about 80% similar although im not as familiar with wanted by nights dry down, this one dries woody and more DRY than its top fruity notes. Its a crowd pleaser and I find it smelling better in the cooler environment personally and prefer it off the skin.

I received a sample of this fragrance with my most recent purchase, and I must say, it's really good. It opens with strong woody and citrus notes, but as it develops, the apricot note takes center stage and transforms the scent into something wonderful. To me, it's similar to Rochas L'homme. It's nice, but I don't think I'll be adding this one to my collection.

I was blind bought it on 2019 because of the name “Wood & Wood” , but in reality this is Fruity Blue Fragrance and very different from OG DNA. It’s still mass appeal and suits for any occasion, even this is EDP the performance less that the OG EDT. If you hoping to get real “Wood & Wood” get the “Eau & Cedre” Still got OG DNA but very Woody.

The best apricot I have ever smelled! And apricot scents are rather rare. The Ambroxan is also appropriately dosed here. No stinging, no chemicals. In addition, there is a smooth, freshly polished wood. Unfortunately, the apricot only lasts two hours. Anyone who likes to spray on their clothes will definitely have more fun with the apricot.

This is good but not great either. It’s a very good day scent or early evening scent during the spring and summer. Projection is satisfactory and longevity is good. Not a safe blind buy however. Layer it with Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt, you’ll be surprised!

Rather than a blast of wood, I smelled a very pleasant, fruity fragrance that feels very unisex. Surprisingly soft and powdery. I have a suspicion that the tester went bad, since my experience doesn't seem to align with the descriptions for this fragrance.

If only it had the longevity... The scent is so smooth and blended well. Not a sharp grapefruit but a mellow one. Quite aromatic and somewhat good mood scent, really feels good to wear. Last 2-3 hours on clothes but the sillage is really not there.

On skin it opened with a beautiful grapefruit then faded into sweet woody scent that was just okay. On clothing it opened with a boozy grapefruit and evolved into a very beautiful apricot scent. Just lovely. Too bad it doesn’t work on my skin.

Easy to wear and not overpowering. I definitely get the fresh apricot early on, with the wood coming on later in the dry down. The wood smells like it's from a nice sauna before you turn it on, I get some cedar notes with it.

Lovely opening. Fresh grapefruit and Apricot. Dies down to nothing really still has the Issey Miyake Leau dissey DNA but doesn't last as long

This is criminally underrated. Fruity sweet and woody, with a fairly unique apricot note. Perfect for fall, and very good for winter.

smelled this of the tester bottle in Myer. Yeah I like this, it smells like the Lemon Lime & Bitters beverage. Very nice indeed

This is really nice. Woody with a little bit of sweetness, without being cloyingly. Kinda similar to Givenchy Pour Homme.

A sweet and pleasant ambroxan-apricot-grapefruit cocktail with a hint of spices and wood.

It’s called woody but it definitely more citrus forward. Not a bad scent profile tho.

If its winter or fall , this is a hidden gem

I get it when almost everyone said that it's name is a misnomer. Instead of a strong woody dominant fragrance, the opening is nothing of it's name. At all. All I got was a sweet citrus which is very calming indeed. The grapefruit is fantastic. Then comes the middle note in which for me the ambroxan is more dominant than anything. And it's too sharp to an extent of headache inducing. I don't get the apricot that much. Had to bear this sharp smell for a few hours before it comes to the drydown which is in fact woody. Hence the name I guess. I couldn't separate which note it is but somehow the sandalwood is pretty projecting. The drydown really similar to what I get from Dunhill Icon Elite. Sillage is so-so. Longevity is acceptable for me. Need to adapt to it's smell for another application later. In short, not really a 'woody' fragrance as what I initially expected. The citrus here is calming. The woodsy element is quite common in other perfumes. Safe fragrance. For the price, you can blind buy it.
