L'Eau d'Issey Summer 2017

I have and love this summer flanker <3 I actually ration it out because it was a limited edition and it is so evocative of an important time in my life that I was going through. To me, this scent is one of the best fruity aquatics I've had the pleasure of smelling, its predominantly aquatic notes with woodsy notes and some litchi revolving around a very strong grapefruit note, it smells fresh, uplifting and clean without being sterile or screechy, when it settles down there is shared DNA with the original L'eau D'issey, so while it does feel new and fresh, it has an air of familiarity to it as well. The longevity is great; 4 sprays will last me 7 hours and the silage is moderate, its not super strong but enough to gather compliments, I'll be sad when my bottle finally runs out!

Wonderfull fresh and cool scent. Smells like a fresh summer wind at the beach. I detect nothing tropical at all. I actually feels it emulates the fresh Scandinavian seaside. It smells more like the wawes breaking on to the beach on a cool summerday when a fresh wind is blowing. It smeels like fresh surf and cool wind. Not tropical at all. Works well on hot and humid days, but needs a little refreshing after 4-6 hours. Stays on clothes for a long time. I love it!

Another flanker by Issey Miyake... it’s a pretty aquatic floral scent, I didn’t find anything fruity in it. I think it smells as if it has lotus notes in it. It’s a very fresh and pleasant smell, but not groundbreaking. They keep making this type of scents every year. Lasts for 5-6 hours but it becomes a skin scent.

Lucky to find old stock of this gorgeous scent. It’s Issey DNA for sure but also a beautiful, gentle ocean. I immediately get SE Asian spa hotel on the opening but then it settles in salty water very quickly. I do get citrus too. Undertones of something decaying but it a good way. Evokes days at the beach!

Very cool scent, like a cool summer breeze by the sea. Not bad, but not exceptional in any way.

I was so excited to see this limited edition of summer 2017 flanker of the popular Issey Miyake for women fragrance. So light and fresh, this was created by my favourite perfumer Alberto Morillas. As stated by the official website, the notes are as follows: Top pink grapefruit and litchi, middle passionfruit, guava, watery and flowery notes, and base vanilla and exotic woods. This is summer in a bottle, relaxed and ocean-breathy and beach-reminiscently yet refined and elegant. It reminds somewhat of Oxygen by Lanvin of the same perfumer. Close to skin but lasting all day, it was commented as jasmine, cherry-blossom and overall oh so very nice by men. I bought two bottles of this beauty and thinking whether to stock up even more. I see it taking me from summer to winter, changing in different temperatures and humidity. I do not go past any offering of Alberto Morillas, and this one has just proved that I like his creation for a reason.

I don't own any of the summer editions, I only know the original one, which has been a love-hate relationship for me.. I like its freshness, the simple bottle, the unisex scent, but I could never truly love it on me.. This one, however is a more interesting, more bearable take on the original Eau d'Issey. The votes for the notes are fairly accurate - I get mostly watery notes, guava, and something slighly floral. All in all something about it reminds me of the drydown of Iceberg Twice pour femme, not sure what it is..It starts out as the original Eau d'Issey, then you get something floral, then something aqua, then something fruity..I donno. I call it 'Amper-smell' - when there's an electric tension in the air.. It won't be my fave summer scent, but it smells very interesting and works well on me in the heat. The bottle is quite plain - I liked the other summer bottle designs a lot more though.

Beach in a bottle! This smells like all the limited ed Issey fragrances, but I couldn't resist picking this up due to the pretty blue bottle. The scent is fresh, aquatic, cool... like a sparkling ocean on a hot summer day with just a few puffy clouds in the sky and a soft sea breeze ... love! Some lovely, subtle floral notes in there somewhere, too. I'm almost tempted to grab a second bottle. It's such a pretty scent. Longevity is great, too. It stays on the skin for a good 8-12 hours. This fragrance would suit all ages.

For me the opening of the this flanker is nearly identical to the original with sightly less projection. however the dry down softer & takes on more of the aquatic notes. Strangely, I actually like it better because it comes across cleaner in the heat. Unfortunately, it doesn't last as long for me as the original but then again most fragrances don't for me.

Very nice and fresh, a bit generic but lovely nevertheless
