Pleats Please Eau de Parfum 2013

One of Issy Miyake's interesting perfumes features a special glass design with limited production, and although it has been discontinued,it's easily repairable! Violet plays the lead role in this perfume, delivering a bitter and cool powdery scent with sharp acetone-like sweetness. In the initial moments, I detect hints of almond and heliotrope alongside the violet, enhancing the bitter and powdery aspects of the fragrance. This almond-like aroma is intended to evoke the scent of macarons. As time passes, the initial bitterness mellows, and soft floral notes with a rosy sweetness take center stage. This floral-powdery blend, set against a subtle bitter backdrop, eventually settles on a base of patchouli. The sweet and slightly tangy patchouli, with its hints of mint and earthiness, combines harmoniously with other ingredients to create a satisfying finish for this perfume. The overall scent creates an illusion of red grape juice aroma alongside a sharp powdery cosmetic and bitter sensation for me. از عطرهای جالب توجه برند ژاپنی ایسی میاکه با شیشه خاص و زیبا که تولید محدودی داشته و علی رغم رایحه دلپذیرش با کیفیت و ساختار متوسطی که داره فقدانش خللی به دنیای عطر وارد نمیکنه و میشه عطرهایی در فضای مشابه جایگزینش کرد. گل بنفشه رول اول عطره و با بوی تلخ و خنکِ پودری و شیرینیِ تیزِ اَسِتون مانندش فضای عطرو پر کرده. در ساعت های آغازین بویی بادام مانند و هلیوتروپی هم در کنار بنفشه حس میشه که حالت پودری و تلخی عطرو تشدید میکنه. این بوی بادامی و طعم دار قراره رایحه ماکارون رو در عطر بازسازی کنه. به مرور تلخی کذایی کم رمق میشه و نت های لطیف گلی با بوی شیرین و رزی برجسته تر میشن. این ترکیب پودری گلی با پس زمینه تلخ در نهایت روی بیسی پچولی محور جمع میشه. پچولی ترش و شیرین با حس خاکی نعنایی که نت های شیرین و گلی پودری احاطش کردن. کلیت عطر در یک جمله توهم بوی آب انگور قرمز و شیرین کنار یه حس تیز پودری آرایشی و تلخ رو برام ایجاد میکنه.

Clearly violet, but not a shrinking violet. Pleats Please EDP takes the fresh sweet pea and smooth doll-skin vanilla from the original EDT (which I have and love), but replaces the white floral indoles and the nashi pear with macarons and a very extroverted violet. It's not delicately powdery or leafy-sharp like most violets are, but really sweet and with a certain lushness that almost makes it seem fruity. The opening is bubblegum-sweet, and the drydown is still not for the faint of heart, but brings some depth to the sweetness with a clean, rounded patchouli. The macaron note adds some pretty almond powder to it. The whole scent really feels very purple, so the bottle color is perfect. This is a mischievous violet fragrance, something a sassy fairy with glittering wings would smell like. In my opinion it's distantly related to Lolita Lempicka, Ultraviolet and Insolence. I'm not saying these smell the same, they don't, but they all give violet a darker and more playful vibe than usual. I'm not 100% sure if I need this in my collection, as I don't find it very versatile and it's not something I want to smell all the time. The EDT is more wearable. But I love this EDP for its whimsical nature and would certainly keep it if it magically landed in my hands.

I obsessed over this fragrance before purchasing it blind. I am twitterpated with macarons and I find the experience of violet-sniffing to be a worthy pastime. When I learned that 2012 Pleats Please (a summer favorite) had a younger sister that was inspired by simple pleasures and biting into a violet macaron, I knew I had to explore it. Upon first spritz, I could definitely tell that Pleats Please 2013 is the younger, violet sibling of its pink, flowery predecessor. Familiar sweet pea opens up into violets whipped with powdery, nutty ground almonds. The violet dances with patchouli before long, and I do detect a purple smell. I sense a trace of grape: the utmost sophisticated grape you could imagine biting into. It adds a sense of charm to this pretty-smelling perfume. Peony intermingles with patchouli in its dry-down and the crisp, nuttiness of the macaron is warmed by the essence of vanilla. Pleats Please 2013 is my Autumn/Winter scent; I'm so pleased to have found this online after learning it has been discontinued.

I bypassed this fragrance without testing it so many times; the bottle was a peculiar 'squashed' shape and the other Issey Miyake fragrances I had tested were all disappointingly soft and evanescent, so I couldn't imagine it being 'me'. I was so wrong. It was on a super sell-out at the local department store, so I risked a quick spritz, and fell immediately in love. I mainly smell a rich, deep mix of violets and sweet pea, the macaroons I find to be just a slight background sweetness rather than a note in themselves. It is a beautiful rich scent, relatively long lasting and garners me regular compliments, especially from my partner who loves the scent of sweet peas, and thinks this is just delightful.

They don`t sell it anymore and then I am supposed to find something else but that doesn`t exist. When I bought it many years ago, I had to decide and took it. It has been a faithful companion for many years, believe me. The bottle is still there, empty but smiling at me. It ́s a warm perfume, great for autumn and winter, that ́s when I got it, in spring, when it still was cool outside. I wish they would still sell it, but there is no way. The other ones in that kind are not the same for me. It is one of the few I keep in my heart.

oh oh oh . i love this . I was out and about and took a little sneak peak into the perfume department with my girls and suddelny fealt an urge to test this one . Oh boy I love it. The initial burst of sweet Violets mixing with the macarons and sweet pea i simply love it. I do realy like the original and want it ,but now i want this even more :) it is a sweet and nice perfume , but to me its unik and fresh ,long lasting and realy makes me smile , i did not think i would fall so hard for it but yes i did.

A dead ringer for the original John Galliano; but I like this better. The complexity of the woody Patchouli makes this beauty a far more appealing elixir. An absolute violet beast! I have the EDP, EDT and L'Eau from the Pleats Please range and I am glad as they are all so unique and gorgeous. Violet lovers everywhere must fall down at this gorgeous glass bottle's feet in worship.

I love that purple grape smell upfront. This is a fun frag. because it is a little different and off the wall but I think all of Issey's perfumes are a little odd. Anyway, what others have said about lovely dry down I agree. I love from beginning to end even though there is a hint of hair salon in there somewhere. Good Sillage and lasts long enough. May buy a back up.

I find this so gorgeous and unique. It smells like very delicate grape candy (the mix of the violet and macaron note). It is also very powdery and femmine. The patchouli note here is completely detectable and makes the scent slightly sour. It is sweet, but not too sweet. Sillage and longevity are good too :) I love this scent and would recommend it.

I got this perfume many years ago and it was autumn and I still have the bottle. Downtown they say it`s not available anymore. (??) It`s one of the best of the best; very high longevity, soft, sweet, powdery, feminine. Not cheap but worth every cent. I hope that one day in the future they will sell it again. It ́s very discret but not too shy 🍇🍓🌸🍀🍓

This perfume reminds me of elie saab le parfum, the different only ES use jasmine and IM use violet. But to me, theyre like sister, both has similiar scents. I dont know ppl experience, but imho ES is a bit fresher than IM...i love them both especially since IM pleats please has been discontinued..so it is collectible item for me.

This is my favorite perfume of all time (for now). It is so special! For me, this is a sexy but happy mix. It's a pitty that I cannot buy it anywhere :(

I passed the shelves of issey miyake pleats please a million times.tried all of them couple of times and.I was never impelled to buy one.actually I liked the green one very much.it seems to be a lovely floral.pink/red one was nice too but I thought I may buy them if I come across a great deal.purple one never grabbed my attention Last time I tried on my skin so I could observe it.the other day I felt I'm missing that fluffy powder heaven Finally I found it discounted and purchased it.and yes,I like it very much.I almost love it.it's violet dominant and I was never a true violet fan,but it's not just violet.it's a cloud of powder made off violet,heliotrope-like macaron and soft vanilla.it has a touch of sweet pea which I also like as a signature of pleats pleases.I can even detect a hint of patchouli which bounds this fluffy cloud to earth.every thing is lovely and perfect.it's not cold and sad like some violet scents and not raspberry candied like some others.it's a pretty simple scent but I have nothing similar in my collection If you want a modern and wearable powdery scent this is for you Longevity is about 6,7 hours and sillage is moderate.I like it's bottle very much and I think it matches this modern powdery scent.it's wearable year round IMO.best at mild to cool weather It was a limited edition and not produced anymore so I'm happy to discover and add this lovely babe to my collection before being too late I can't name it a love,but it's definitely a like ❤❤❤❤ P.s:there's two more things to add: It's not a really sweet or gourmand scent in my book And I agree there's some similarities between this one and insolence family(not edp mostly my insolence,it's like my insolence minus raspberry)actually I prefer this one Edit: Someone commented that it's like a sweet talcum powder and she said it's not a usual and generic smell,kind of weird but at the same time it's very good! She saved it's name in her cellphone to buy a bottle of it for herself

second or third review. today is summer, cooler than usual- its been really humid. ------------------------------ EDIT: OMG @Soofiya i was thinking the Guerlains insolence too as i referenced guerlain - that little twee purple flower right!!! how funny - i noticed your comment after i had writted mine and was scrolling through others. ------------------------------ disliked at first... because the tester at the same store i visited was old. boom theres the tea and off notes. the proper scent (although i disagree with the accords listed) it has that wateryness that issey does so well, but its a watery fruit/flower, perhaps lotus or maybe lychee?? not sure, i get a slight powderyness and cool warm depth if that makes sense. Gorgerous sillage, just wafting about at the moment. this isnt like the d'issy line, nor the a scent line. this is sort of in the same zone of proximity as: lancome tresor in love - but thats waaay more subtle i get the elie saab similarities - maybe to the resort collection though - how those sort of have a stream running through the notes making them dewy rather than dry at all, pleates please edp isnt dry at all, it could almost be in the lighter versions of Michael kors offerings or the dewey guerlains. not the same but the wet, floral, fruit sweet sphisticated triangle. PP edp has depth

When I read the description that this is considered a sweet perfume, I was discouraged; but was a pleasant surprise after test it on the skin. It is strong at first but after incorporating into the skin releases the delicious violet scent, which I love. The patchouli adds a touch of mystery and the combination of these two elements is very good. The artificial smell of the macarons is only felt when still moist, tends to talc after dry. It's an interesting perfume, but it's not at the top of my list.

I own Elixir and I love it, bright floral, very distinctive, this new version isn't as intense, or bright, but it is very nice, softer, more floral, and more violets definitely,which isn't bad as it isn't a vintage violet scent, more a sweet violet scent, well blended, not your typical violet perfume..longevity is nice. And it gets more similar to Elixir in the drydown..although I don't get patchouli nor vanilla, or just subtle whiffs,nothing more, still happy to own this pretty creation..

First sniff of this offers a burst of violets and sweetpea. The violets are very sugary and sweet! Reminds me of violet candy. A lot. Though the fragrance is very sweet and candy-like, it is more of a floral over all. Very young, flirty but sophisticated. I actually quite like it! The dry-down after a few hours (noticable on textile the most) is a gorgeus vanilla bean. The sort of fragrance you would like to pair with a colourful outfit!

to babykays: Yes, I do, and I ́m happy that somebody wrote it, because I was very surprised by the similarity, just not after 10 minutes but after about 2 hours I started to smell something like Roberto Cavalli EDP, very faintly, like from a distance. I don ́t want to continue comparing, this is a lovely, fresh, light scent, the violet and macaron note are prominent and then the vanilla.

I don't get grape, what I smell is violets and vanilla. Lasts a good amount of time and a little goes a long way. To me this scent is not sophisticated and mature or young and flirty etc.. I find it simply 'pretty'. I can't find the macarons in it though! I really love it, it is actually my favourite at the moment.
