Jack - Richmond

I got a few samples of Jack in the post today as I was keen to try it and possibly purchase some to gift to my partner if he likes it. I was particularly drawn to this one with its woody earthy notes, although I think my boyfriend will prefer the fresher notes of the original Jack. I am a HUGE fan of Withnail and I and was very keen to see what Richard E Grant had to offer, particularly reading about his passion for perfumes. This one immediately conjures up London vibes for me. And it's not just the name. I am imagining a sophisticated slightly retro chap strolling down the streets of London in pinstripe trousers and braces, twirling his moustache. It's all old leather suitcases and black umbrellas. Very evocative. It's a win for me.

Light mossy modern fougere. The scent opens with notes of clary sage and ginger leading to a pronounced oakmoss heart. As it settles, one can detect aromatic notes of labdanum, cedar, juniper on a synthetic musk base. The masculine leaning scent has moderate sillage and longevity. Nice and gentlemanly but a bit weak to make a lasting impact. Enjoy!

I love the fresh and gingery intro to this otherwise gritty and earthy fragrance. Whilst geared toward the male audience, I'd have no trouble wearing this myself as it has an outdoorsy appeal and is finely crafted. ✨

Too masculine for me but still very nice. Woody, gingery, and sort of like walking through a forest. It has a nice warmth to it that male fragrances often don’t have. Will be lending my sample to my Dad!

I love this underrated gem. Divine ginger takes precedence followed by a gritty, earthy base. From the mind of actor Richard E Grant and based on the hunting grounds of King Henry VIII. Well made. ✨
