Bogart Pour Homme

THE GANGSTER SCENT - A LAVENDER & TONKA GRENADE ! I paid attention to this fragrance after watching Lex Ellis - "Fragrances with Ellis" on YouTube - featuring one video called "Fragrances for Gangsters" or a similar name. That happened some 9 years ago and I still love this perfume nowadays. I remember to have bought it together with another Bogart cologne - Silver Scent Intense, which I still highly praise as well. Now Bogart Pour Homme... What an amazing fragrance. It is really a hidden gem! From the first spray you know you are scenting something very special. Vibes of respectful powerhouses arise from Caron's Pour Un Homme, Boss No 1, Aramis 900, and Lapidus For Man, ... None of those is similar to Bogart Pour Homme, but they make you feel the same type of sensations. It's an association you make between bold, respectful, almost intimidating manly fragrances. At home, children adore it... even my dogs like it very much. The ladies of my life (four of them) never identify the fragrance but often praise it. Probably they know that secretly I turn into a gangster when I use it 🙂 BPH is an almost linear fragrance with a fresh opening of average citrus and strong lavender. That dilutes itself in a strong cherry tobacco vibe and dries down with very pleasant notes of tonka and patchouli. Somewhere along this evolution, I devise a faint similarity with Versace Dreamer. Yes, it is a bit synthetic... It does not bother me at all! That's why you get such sharp scents and a huge performance. You may use it everywhere but never in warm weather. This is a cold-weather fragrance for a hot-feelings user. Due to its classicism, I always tend to classify this perfume as a below-average as compliment grabber. I could not be more wrong. Ladies do notice it and do like it. Performance? Well above average longevity (12~14 hours), sillage (6 feet+) and projection (3~4 hours). Ratings for Bogart pour Homme: ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ - Scent opening: 8.5 (Lavender lovers will enjoy this opening) - Scent dry-down: 9.0 (Earthy and sweet - classic and very pleasant) - Longevity: 9.0 (3 sprays will give you more than 12 hours) - Sillage: 9.0 (6 feet radius sillage and with a huge projection for 3.5 hours) - Versatility: 6.5 (Very manly and very intense, limiting its versatility; It is acceptable for daily use, office, and a night out... but not really recommended for any of them. After this brand's first purchase, I bought almost every Bogart fragrance available. I also bought a backup bottle for a couple of them... we never know what may happen 🙂 Recommendation: This is a top choice in the budget alley. It is an elegant and masculine scent to use in cold weather, either during the day or at night. It may fit a ceremony, office use, or casual daily use... but it only shines at home, in a family environment. Blind buy? Yes, of course. It's a very commendable perfume and it sells for peanuts. !wWOWw! So, I own A BUNCH of great"unisex" fragrances from florals to gourmand and everything in between, but MAN! It's just REALLY nice getting back to an essential, masculine dna (that doesn't smell dated) from time to time! Am I right fellas!?? Really good and hits WAY above its price point! Now at first spray, Bogart Pour Homme immediately reminded me of PDM Layton, but after about 5-10 mins, I begin to get that "Cherry Tobacco" accord everyone speaks of... Bogart Pour Homme definately has a "Classic Vibe" yet still manages to be somewhat unique although I would consider it a classic "Barber-shop" fragrance because of the way the Lavender is done here giving it a very "clean/fresh" touch along with those classically used spices. Now, being a LOVER of EVERYTHING cherry, from artificial to natural cherry scents, Im a fan of this for sure, and this hits the mark. I definatly plan on layering this with my TF Lost Cherry dupe (MH Lovely Cherry) to see if that awesome cherry note gets center stage😁. I just tried Bogart Pour Homme now for the first time, so I cant yet speak on the performance, but I'll def be back for an update.. To whomever is reading this, thanks for taking the time!😉 --------‐----------update---------------------- So ive worn Bogart Pour Homme a few times now, and although it does have a strong opening and sillage, it doesn't last as long (on skin) as I figured it would. My bottle probably needs to mature a bit, and its an edt, but that doesnt really determine the longevity as much as one might think. I still get a solid 4 ro 5.hours on skin before it becomes a skin scent, and about 7 to 8 hours on clothes. I'm sure that'll change with time. A great, classic sccent which fills a niche in my collection as I didn't really have a men's classic "barber-shop" type scent (unless ya consider PDM Layton one). 7 outta 10 scent imo,.. very, VERY nice!!😁 and thanks for the read!!

this is not your "grandpa smell" at all. it's mature but absolutely modern, a man over 30-35 will feel very comfortable with bogart pour homme. MR SMELLY hyped this fragrance and he was right: a great cheapie, with quality and substance. i never tried so far pure havane, i can get the le male vibe but definitely more masculine, i never liked le male because there's something a bit girly that i hate. b.p.h. is 100% masculine, fits good for someone confident, tough and elegant in a classic way. this scent is famous for the tobacco-cherry combo but i want to point out that it's not heavy, the juice is well made even it is a bit synthetic and sweet and the cherry is soft, not femminine. ok it's not over necessary in a wardrobe but for the price and quality u can have a good edt to use. mine is batch 2019 and i cant complain about performance, which is very good especially in longevity(dont overspray). i think it's not your panty dropper but fits good for casual situations, open enviroments and work. for cold seasons only, for a mature man with a classic but not dated style, someone who believes in "less is more". where i live in nobody knows b.p.h. so it's very unique here. profumo per uomini over 35, classico ma assolutamente moderno, per chi veste con la giusta dose di finezza, senza essere sciatto o eccessivamente elegante come un pagliaccetto. ottima combinazione di tabacco e ciliegie, tutto però fatto in modo decisamente virile. costa pochissimo e dove vivo io nessuno lo conosce. scent-8 long-8 sillage-8 uniqueness-8 bottle-7 versatility-8 compliment factor- 6,5 rebuy?no my vote-8 in one word- necktie alternative- jpg le male

For a sub $20 fragrance, this pops off my skin pretty strongly in the opening. I'm getting a citrus aromatic/herbal with some subtle florals mixed in initially especially the lavender. The citrus fades away fairly quickly. I definitely get the tonka bean and musk a little later in. I'm also getting the woods & the patchouli is not the dirty kind but more the chocolatey kind but is a little elusive. On the far dry down i'm getting a vanillic & light spice undertone but it doesn't take over. Pretty well balanced. In the end, the performance finishes up as average after a strong opening. It dries down kinda powdery. Not getting much Pure Havane or Insurrection Wild other than its a similar sweetness & maybe a single vein of something underneath, probably the the vanilla mixing with something to give it a tobacco-like smell. Similarity to Naxos is noticeable but not close whatsoever. Overall a really good buy at the price point.....is it synthetic? Sure, but definitely smells nice for a cheapie. You could do much worse for under $20. The performance seems pretty good so far for a $20 fragrance. On the far far dry down, it gets more tobacco forward and closer to Pure Havane & Insurrection 2 wild to my nose, but by that point, the fragrance is already fading away. It smells like a sweeter Naxos in the far dry down to my nose but not close to the quality, which is understandable at the price point this goes. It's a great bargain.

Idk man, why are people calling Bogart pour Homme "cheap smelling?". Yes, this fragrance is cazy affordable, and at around $20 a bottle it's a real steal, but it does NOT smell cheap or particularly "Synthetic". Now at the $20 price-point OF COURSE it uses synthetics but Bogart pour homme smells freakin' AMAZ-BALLZ, and "Synthetics " are NOT only used in "Cheap fragrances". The Lavender, Patchouli and Tonka bean are blended to perfection and offers this clean/spicey mature dna. It's simply intoxicating and has noticable progression through the opening, mid and far dry-down. It hits WAY above it's $20 pricetag. Ive left previous reviews on here regarding Bogart pour Homme, yet everytime I wear it, Im just so impressed with this dna that I feel the need to come back to Fragrantica to rave about it.. whether its a "cheapie" or not, it's a gorgeous fragrance, and it gets even better the longer it matures (especially the performance). I used Bogart Pour Homme at work on my sweater, then the following day got a compliment without even spraying more on again prior to work! Now THATS great performance, especially for an edt. I love Bogart Pour Homme (and I own close to 100 frags, from Niche to clones to high end designers). Bogart pour Homme is an 8 outta 10 imo. It's a NO BRAINER! This is awesome... Great manly, mature scent. Probably boring for 20 year olds, but for a little more mature man, for example for formal or office scent, this is great... It kind of has same vibe or fills the same purpose as Prada L'homme... Office safe, very elegant and non offensive. Talking about the price... got it for I think 14€ because the bottle is suppose to be damaged.... Unbeatable and unbelievable what you cant buy for such a little money... makes you wonder why pay 100€ plus for fragrances. True, you have to search and dig deep to find such a gem, but they do exist... I primarily get Lavender and Vanilla... those two are the dominant notes I get... It starts a little minty at the beginning which reminded me of Versace Dreamer which is also a steal for what it is... Some will call that a Tobacco Leaf note but to me its more gentle mint. Of all the fragrances I have now I mostly reach for the Bogart Pour Homme, Prada L'homme and Versace Dreamer... they all have that elegant and smooth vibe to it which I'm drawn to. I found out that scents that are strong and specific are nice to wear occasionally but you (or should I say I) get bored really quickly. These three I can wear all day every day... Masterpiece. 9,5/10

What is there to be said about this heavy hitter that is ever so often likened to Le Mâle and Pure Havane. I'd like to add: it also bears some resemblance to Caron pour un Homme. Tonka tobacco vanilla and musk, served with a spritz of lavender. This is more a stylistic point and my personal reflection, so don't get offended. As for similarity to Layton, not so sure. Never would have thought of that but now that someone mentions it, I start to imagine and even feel similarity of some kind. Or wait, is it closer to Pegasus? Interesting how these suggestions affect our nose. Fairly linear, but a burst of lavender is strong in the opening and then it quickly mellows into that comforting cherry tobacco - that's in fact the tonka and vanilla concoction often interpreted as tobacco. In that respect actually could be an affordable alternative to Tobacco Reserve for those who missed the hype train on that...maybe? Longevity is tremendous. I get whiffs after 12 hours from one spray on the wrist. Oh, the compliment factor? Sounds unlikely for a classic style scent of this sort but surprisingly it's there. For colder seasons, apply sparingly if it's for office environment.

8/10 ... a phenomenal blind buy! For an inexpensive fragrance, I wasn't expecting much but you can actually experience the opening, mid and drydown notes fully. It starts off with a pleasant citrus and lavender combination and then turns into a masculine floral while still maintaining a slight amount of citrus. Soon the tonka bean kicks in with a little bit of sweetness which eventually settles down to a masculine musky/patchouli drydown. This is about the time that some say that they get a cherry tobacco scent ... but I think it's the tonka combining with the citus/floral notes. I get zero tobacco. My favorite part of this masterpiece is that none of the notes actually totally subside. It has good longevity, too ... 4-6 sprays will get you 8-10 hours easily. I had been wearing a few more expensive perfumes with almost zero compliments ... then I wore this to the pharmacy to pick up some prescriptions and the pharmacist (who I've talked to before) leaned in, tapped my hand and said ... you smell amazing ... what cologne do you have on? YES!!! I'm ordering a backup today. SOLD!!! The ONLY negative ... horrible atomizer.

I mean, Lawd this smells freakin' fantastic! Imo one of THEE BEST (Affordable) Aromatic Fougeres on the market! Bogart Pour Homme smells like a "Classic" 80's or 90's Aromatic Fougere" although it was launched in 2002. Its that amazing Lavender/Patchouli combo! Id sprayed some on a sweater one night and then wore it to work the following day and that Lavender/Patchouli which was what remained basically, and I got so much positive attention for it just for that day-after dry-down bc I had forgotten to use a fragrance that day! Yeah man, from start to finish, this fragrance is just 👌, and great performance ta boot??. And for around twenty bucks?!! Craziness man! I have NOT had the pleasure of smelling Xerjoff Naxos or Thierry Mugler's Pure Havan, but I love Jacques Bogart Pour Homme, and the whole Jacques Bogart line for NOT conforming to todays trends and also making great performing and excellent smelling, classic masculine fragrances! KUDOS to the house of Jacques Bogart-Paris!! Anyways, Bogart Pour Homme is an 8.5 outta 10 fragrance imo "Cheapie frag" or NOT!... Just STELLAR!

Picked up a 100ml bottle for 19€, which is absolutely ridiculous if you ask me. It does smell quite synthetic but if you can bare that you will get great value for money. Performance and longevity are insane too, especially at this price point. I can spray some in the early morning and people can still smell it on me in the evening. Maurice Roucel is one of my fav perfumers, he created some great high quality fragrances (i.e. Musc Ravageur/Dans Tes Bras), yet knows how to work with low budget ingredients too (Nautica Voyage probably being the best cheapie out there). Roucel is well known for the use of lavender in many of his creations, and this is not an exception, the good thing here being that it's not a harsh lavender like in Lancôme Hypnôse Homme. Although a bit synthetic and sweet, the lavender prevents it turning towards the gourmand side, and creates this rather masculine vibe that works well in outdoor settings with colder weather. If you're looking for a nice all-round cherry/tobacco fragrance, this is the one. Would recommend this for any age!

Purchased Bogart Pour Homme bout 7 months ago, wore it a few times and put a nice dent in my bottle and put it away for about 5 months.. Took it back out today 5 months later and Longethy is just INSANE! Also projects more than it did initially. Funny thing is that I purchased Opium Pour Homme last week and when I sprayed that on it TOTALLY reminded of another fragrance I had, but could NOT for the life of me remember what it was.. Finally as I was rummaging through my collection, I spotted my box for Bogart pour homme, did a side by side and they are VERY similar in the opening and part of the mid, but go in their own directions during further in the dry-down bc of the strong Lavender in Bogart which makes it go into "BarberShop/Fougere territory, while Opium remains a gorgeous spicey Oriental. Currently Bogart Pour Homme SSSMOKES Opium Pour Homme as far as longevity goes, but my Opium bottle is brand spankin' new and hasn't had a chance to "Maturate"... So we'll see which lasts longest a few months from now. Interesting 🤔

A great fragrance for those who want a classy, streamlined and modern scent but want something more unique. This smells a little retro but maintains its relevance by being well blended and offering great performance. If someone thought that there was a hint of vanilla or at least some tobacco in this fragrance, I wouldn't blame them. I can't place it but there is a smokey feel to this scent, like you smoked an expensive cigarette while wearing a white dress shirt that you just picked up from the dry cleaners. The note breakdown doesn't do this scent justice IMO. I can almost guarantee that if you buy a bottle, it will not smell like anything else in your collection. This is a MUST have for those who love tobacco style scents. The best part about this scent is, you should be able to find a brand new 100ml bottle for $40 or less. PERFECT for the office! Go heavier on the sprays in the winter.

strong and synthetic, a very good scent but overwhelming also try to just use it with temperance. This is for everyday occasions is not a compliment master but projects very good and you smelll nice. nothing like a masterpiece but a nice manly and with great sillage fragrance that will not dissapoint you. If you have several fragrances and you want to add more to you collection is a must buy, if you want it to be your signature there are other choices much better. On the positive of this is that its scent its really good and unfamiliar so you will not smell like all the others. Extremely masculine and for ages 35+ with a character that is mature Scent: 6.5/10 (a good above average scent) Sillage 10/10 (enormous) Value 10/10 (is really cheap) Longevity 10/10 (stays forever) i have the latest reformulation, never had the old one. Best in Winters and Autumn with below 10 celsiums temperature.

An unashamedly masculine fragrance offering strong opening notes of lavender and bergamot followed immediately by deliciously floral tones with sweet Tonka Bean, Patchouli, cedar and musk in the base. Longevity is astounding considering its very accessible price point, lasting easily 8-10 hours on my skin with commendable sillage. It is the sort of scent you almost do not have to top up since it lasts all day. I first purchased the Bogart Pour Homme as a blind buy on a recommendation and am now happily on my second bottle with a backup in the fridge since autumn is almost upon us. Indeed it is a scent that suits cool to colder weathers. Wear it in autumn, winter and the cool of springtime. To summarise, the Bogart Pour Homme is an easily-likeable blind buy no-brainer which I would rate an easy 9.0/10 because it is such good value.

Bogart Pour Homme is absolutely GORGEOUS! I admit that I have yet to try Naxos, but as far as Bogart PH goes? Just WOW! Most def Masculine and "Classic-Leaning" and although it does NOT have a Tobacco note, there is like a "Pipe Cherry-Tobacco" vibe here. Another star in this show has go be the Lavender! So so good and the Lavender truley begins to shine the further ya get into the dyy down. Man! This fragrance smells "Expensive" and lasts and Lasts ESPECIALLY after letting air into the bottle and letting this Maturate for.a Month or two! An 8.5 outta 10 within its genre! On a On a side note: @RESNEW a couple reviews below me absolutely makes some excellent points concerning Synthetics vs High quality Naturals and Top Tier vs more affordable fragrances.. KUDOS @RESNEW! Very well stated!

I always enjoy Bogart Pour Homme for its balance between elegance and approachability. The opening, with its blend of lavender and citrus notes, gives it a refined yet not overly serious character – fresh, bright, and uplifting. Beneath that, there’s a subtle sweetness with slightly floral undertones, which adds a comforting, almost cocoon-like quality while still remaining professional and polished. I've got at present around 110 frags on my shelves and still keep going back to this. For instance, I particularly love wearing it to the office: it feels sophisticated without being overwhelming, and the performance is surprisingly solid. Despite what the note breakdown might suggest, the longevity is more than adequate, lasting through the day with a pleasant, steady presence.

Jacques Bogart Bogart pour Homme... ...it is always surprising how the house of Jacques Bogart can make such quality fragrances for so little money. I don't understand why many call this synthetic. I mean it is, like any other fragrance, but it is well blended. I assume what the majority means when they talk and post about synthetic fragrances that it is harsh and bitey. What I like about this one is it's absolutely nice dry down of a creamy, vanilla/cherry pipe tobacco. Achieving that without actually putting any cherry and tobacco into this blend, makes it even more respectable. This fragrance is very long lasting with very good projection. Woody? Not sure about that but hints of soft wood, creamy tonka, powdery touch, cherry tobacco vibe.

This lands nicely on my small list of really good cheapies. Getting 100ml for twenty bucks is a very good value. Blind buy safe for the price. Would smell great in your vehicle if you don’t like it for yourself. I’m pushing 40 (yikes), and something in this reminds me very distinctly of a scent from my childhood. It was released when I was in my twenties so it wouldn’t be from then. Some kind of chalky not overly sweet candy. Could be one of those stick bubblegums covered in the chalky powder that came with baseball cards in the 90s. Loved that smell. Anyway that’s not the full scent just a part of it. I do get the “sort of le male” vibes but this one does its own thing from there. Smells great. Grab one.

Blind bought it, but such an incredible value. Great performance lasting easily 4 hours for me - most scents don't last more than 2-3 hours on my skin. The opening is a little so-so, but when the base notes come out (20 minutes or less) is when the best notes of this fragrance come out. The vanilla is approaching "too sweet" but is balanced by cedar and patchouli. It somehow stays fresh, sexy, and masculine all at the same time. Overall 8/10, great value, blind buy for sure Pros: sexy sweet vanilla and masculine wood notes, uplifting lavender if you're specifically smelling for it, but otherwise fades into obscurity. good performance Cons: can be cloying if you don't like sweetness

Bogarts sex juice, this is stunning and along with Silver Scent Intense is my most complimented fragrance. Sexy, strong, beautiful, very masculine, 80's style, lavender, tonka bean, vanilla ontop of the classic Bogart/Lapidus heart is a work of art. One of the best evening/night scents if your stepping out with someone on your arm, going to play the tables in Monte Carlo or just simply going to fulfil a contracted hit for the local Gomorrah. You get the picture 007's night scent right here! And like the legend this juice will last all night aswell! A strong 8hrs+ and a nice sillage to arouse. The price is incredible, really don't know how Bogart do it, but long may they continue.
