Curacao Bay

You're sat on the white sandy beach while waiting for the juice man to bring his menagerie of fresh squeezed tropical fruit juices. One you're finished you apply sun block while you wait to be summoned to your catamaran for an all day excursion. Once aboard ship, you settle in and feel the Caribbean ocean and salt air whip around you. Steel drums and reggae fill the atmosphere, this is paradise. Curacao Bay is the epitome of a summer aquatic! No, it doesn't smell like Replica Beach Walk or Tom Ford Soleil Blanc - check your noses! I'm not a lover of florals and I'm happy to report this doesn't give me much of a floral presence and also isn't musky on my skin. This lasts all day on me and projects. But also....I don't expect summer freshie's to be beast mode, let's ease up on that. This smells better and performs better than any Jo Malone, add Virgin Island Water to that as well. I really love suntan lotion/coconut scents but Curacao Bay reminds me of neither. A lot of aquatics have a burnt rubber smell to my nose (Sydney Rock Pool, Oud Minerale, Batucada) but this thankfully does not. Such an underrated gem!

I agree with the several reviewers below that this is a lovely tropical perfume, certainly one which I did not expect to enjoy as much as I do. The frangipani mixed with the sea notes soothes, while the black currant (a difficult note for me) here borders on being a ripe-to-burst fig, sweet and tart at the same time. Curacao Bay is not a fragrance I would have sought out normally, but as part of a very generous sample from Fath, I am enjoying wearing it so much I'm even considering a full bottle. There is a slight distant cousin-ship with Laguna, as has been pointed out by a previous reviewer, and the black currant/fig also reminds me of Figues & Agrumes by Lancome - both of which I love dearly. Surprisingly enjoyable and highly recommended.

Out of the 12 rainbow bottles, this one is my favourite so far. It doesn't blaze any trails but it's an excellent tropical summer scent, that checks all the boxes I'm looking for when thinking about vacationing on the beach: it has tropical fruits, the frangipani gives it a smoothness to it that is reminiscent of coconut and banana, it lasts longer than expected for a fragrance in this category! It dries down to salty-marine scent with hints of the florals, and I could smell it 10 hours later on my skin. It wafted towards me all day, it's like a wonderful ocean breeze. It doesn't smell at all like Diptyque's Philosykos as others have mentioned. The poster under me who said that it reminds them of Acqua di Sale and VIW is more spot on.

This is a phenomenal scent, smells like a warm summer day on an exotic beach with a mojito in your hand, I absolutly love this. The longevity is fantastic, it lasts as long as you would want a scent to last, you spray on 8 o'clock in the morning and go out, it will be there 12 hours later when you're going back home. I had a friend over yesterday and he sprayed this on himself and hours after he left I could still smell it in the air whenever I walked into my room. For a 200ml bottle of this considering the smell and the performance, 149€ is a good price, forget cedrat boise, I honestly think as your first niche fragrance you can not go wrong with a 200ml bottle of this

Sometimes I feel like fragrantica users just want to write bad reviews about a fragrance just so it won't blow up. This scent is amazing! And to those saying that it smells like soleil blanc, you should go to an ENT asap. Beautiful coconut in the opening with a lot of citrus, dries down to a sexy citrus-musky powder smell. Projection is great, people will 100% notice you and the longevity is like this: first 4 hours it's pushing, 2 more hours of a tamed but still noticeable scent with 1 or 2 more hours of it being a skin scent. Couldn't ask for more from a beach fragrance. 8/10

Fresh floral-fruity aquatic. Large frangipani blossoms floating in a bowl of water, juicy citruses soaking within and lightly sprinkled with sea salt. A very tropical affair, with a deep woody-marine backbone plus light green accents. Moderately strong projection fades over 2-3hr, longevity 10-12hr. Like a "blue" version of Green Water. Imagine if Green Water was a very light green color and you covered it up with a strong blue dye, that's kind of the picture in my head. Deeply blue, yet with faint green notes still peeking through.

Very nice. Lovely to wear to the coast. It reminds me of Salvador Dali Laguna. It is also very pricy juice so I won't go fb. It smells fresh and totally tropical. Pass me a cocktail! I've got to agree about the similarity with Diptyque fig scent. There must be an accord for fig made by the fruit notes. It's a very well blended scent so hard to pick the individual notes out. The fruitiness eases off quite a bit and the musk is more evident. Moderate sillage and longevity in this cool room. Very nice. I would also say unisex.

Curacao Bay is according to my niece "the most beautiful scent in the world" so I gave her my bottle. It was my signature for almost a year and I loved it. On me this was citrussy, marine floral, slightly animalic. Long lasting, strong, compliment magnet, unisex, beautiful at any time. The only reason I don't wear it any more, is that it became the signature perfume of a girl that I adore and it's absolutely perfect on her.

Citrus-scented sea spray, starts off green and tapers off into a pretty, lightly tropical frangipani. Gets muskier and saltier, but the opening and mid notes still linger. Perfect for a hot summer day, it's a solid marine-themed fragrance. Opens very strong on my skin, definitely projects above arms' length with my body chemistry.

Very punchy sweet citrus off the hop, with some stemmy greenness in the background. A nice salty oceanic backdrop behind it all. I don't get any coconut out of this, it just feels like a nice citrusy scent with a salty musky background. Unisex, great summer scent.

I enjoy this fragrance smells like coconut with citrus, reminds me a bit to VIW but w an aquatic twist. I don't know why coconut is not listed as one of the notes, it's clearly a coconut water scent 8.5 /10

Smells similar to manceras unicorn French riviera

Curaçao Bay is a marine perfume; a scent profile that so often leaves me cold. I typically prefer richer perfume as a rule, and when hot weather calls for freshies, I like a citrus chypre or green scent. I often find that marine scents resemble window cleaner, an unfortunate common pitfall. However, all things considered, CB is a pretty decent example of its genre with several points of interest. CB opens with sheer, fresh citrus notes. Lemon adds tartness, and is tempered nicely by sweet orange. There is a fleeting dewy green undertone, giving way to the salty aquatic accord that really makes this a marine scent. The saltiness is surprisingly kept to a minimum, but there is a marine quality to CB throughout. As it develops, the frangipani adds a sweet, tropical floral quality to the heart of this scent, slightly creamy, giving a suntan lotion, beachy quality to this scent. Alongside the fresh ocean accord, it is on-theme but feels a little discordant to my nose - there is a lot going on here. It becomes more harmonious as it settles, with a nice muskiness softening the edges and marrying the notes together nicely. Here, I get a coconut water quality, perhaps thanks to the tropical florals and seawater accord. The ambergris adds some saltiness here and the soft woody notes complement it nicely. It fades to a soft, musky skin scent, slightly salty and with a hint of coconut evident. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is a unisex scent for summer days. One of the better marine scents I've tried, CB avoids Windex territory and is more complex than is typical for scents of its profile. High-quality, evocative of its theme and quite satisfying overall, I like this a lot more than I expected to. 4/5.

A chameleon of sorts, this one. As you're reading the reviews below, you'll note a common thread: "Curacao Bay is a tropical scent that smells like X", interspersed with, "Curacao Bay is a tropical scent, that smells nothing like X." Regardless, no one has pointed out a scent Curacao Bay is exactly like. I take that to mean: Curacao Bay is complicated, and at different points, can smell like different scents, and people experience it differently. For example, some get coconut, some get fig, some get citrus, some get lotion, and some get salt; yet, other people disagree whether those facets are even present at all. Personally, I have experienced the same confusion. When I first got my hands on this, I thought Curacao Bay could have been released as a Jean Paul Gaultier scent, what I imagined Le Beau would smell like. Powdery, too. I put it away for several months. When I sprayed it again, I realized I had missed something in my initial wearings. In the opening it has a zingy lemon/citrus blast that blends nicely with the rest of the scent for a VIW-esque vibe. This quickly dissipates. Fast forward a month, and I tried TF Soleil Blanc and instantly smelled large swatch of the Curacao Bay DNA, but I would say that Curacao Bay would be the masculine cousin as added notes make it lean more masculine than the TF. Finally, I just got Vanilla Vibes in, and while the scent itself is quite different, the salty base is very reminiscent. In sum, Curacao Bay evolves and eludes a proper description throughout the wearing, and I still haven't come to an adequate way to describe the scent to you.

What a lovely surprise! I wasn’t expecting to like this one at all to be completely honest with you (check out my loves & likes and you know why). But it came as part of the set, so I tried it eventually. Yes, I get the association with lotion, too. But it’s gentle and not in your face lotion-lotion, definitely no teenage stuff. I can see people wearing this as their happy fragrance. It doesn’t project much so it’s totally office safe, ideal for secretly dreaming of your next vacation while sitting in a business meeting all suited up. Need to add: The bottle design is right up my street. I like it so much it makes me want to own at least one of their perfumes. :-)

I didn't think I liked marine scents. I was wrong at least where this perfume is concerned. I smell lime, sweet coconut, salty skin and marine/ambergris sea water and candy with a bit of a musky quality. I really like this, though it is a teeny bit sweet. I own Mancera Holidays and that one has a similar marine quality that I do like. I blasted through a generous sample and it is a serious contender for a bottle . I would say average longevity on my skin. No one was around to test sillage. I would be over-spraying if I had a bottle anyway. In fact, I just looked and it's super affordable on Fragrancenet! I'm getting it!

Starts with juniper and bright citrus before quickly moving forward into sweeter citrus, fresh water and slightly floral notes and settling with a touch of powdery musk. A very light, fresh and clean fragrance that unfortunately doesn't last long and would require reapplication throughout the day (when applied to skin only). Definitely oozes quality and is one of the best aqua fragrances on the market. Would be suitable for any sporting and outdoor activity or drinking sessions that are exposed to the elements.

It's a fun fragrance for a fun and lively person. It's obvious that this is a "tropical scent", and tbh, I never liked this genre. But, this is "good enough", because it doesn't do it in an overdose. Yes, it's floral, fruity, sweet..etc, but everything is in moderation. It's far from being one of those sickening sweet, sticky, cheap sun lotion smelling perfumes. If like me, you really dislike this genre, give this one a try, maybe it's Zhe(got it?) tropical scent for you.

Summer without the sunscreen or the coconut. Salty, windswept, lightly sweetened with some fresh fruit and soapy summer florals. I get touches of Soleil Blanc without the spice or the coconut but with salty freshly clean sweaty skin and plenty of sun. The citrus is interesting more of the zest less of the juice, fleshed out with clean musk. It’s late spring and I’ll be reaching this a lot as it warms up ❤️ Sporty chic.

Mancera french riviera'nın biraz daha tuzlu ve citruslu hali. Feminene bir tık daha yakın ama unisex çizgide diyebilirim. Yazın deniz kenarında tuzlu vakit geçirirken tatlı güzel bi kokteyl içmek gibi bir hava yaratıyor insanda. Musktan gelen temiz hissiyatı da var. Yaz için günlük kullanılabilir. 6.7/10 diyebilirim. Fiyat performansı kötü sayılmaz.

It’s quite nice! For some it might be a challenging fragrance because it combines many different aspects: sour citruses, salty aquatic accord and creamy tropical florals (that smell both like sunscreen lotion and pina colada). Incredibly similar to VIW and I’m surprised more people don’t agree. Testing them side by side I can barely tell the difference. It’s citrus-led with a sugary musk interest in the background. Rum isn’t listed but I think it’s similarly boozy.

It smells fresh and tropical. It has a sun-tan lotion vibe imo. It is straight up unisex and i definitely detect a floral note. The overall performance on my skin was about average.

Soft and nice, aquatic, salty, and well blended with coconut water

Indeed, it's nice and of quality. Everything's already been said, but I get the floral-tropical sweetness of frangipani blossom, with a background that's aquatic but not mass-market, almost salty but not seaweed, washed-up jellyfish or whatever. It's certainly a lovely summer fragrance for anyone who likes those kinds of notes, but it's really not the sort of thing I like to wear myself. Perhaps I'd have preferred it with a touch of eccentricity. Well, you can't have everything.

Aquatic and fresh. I think people who enjoy these kind of notes will like this fragrance. Unfortunately, the scent is lost on me since usually I prefer heavy and sweet gourmands. But it did remind me of another aquatic scent I tried (and also didn't like due to personal preferences)- Replica Beach Walk by Maison Magriela. The longevity is better with this one than BW.

I love the aquatic vibe, but the coconut scent is a bit outstanding. unfortunately, I don't like milky coconut scent. those who enjoy creamy coconut ( not coconut sunscreen scent, but milky coconut scent) and aquatic vibe would love this. a lovely summer scent but I would prefer something fresh without milky coconut

suntan lotion deluxe. The frangipani is very prominent. I actually quite like it. The perfect size of 15ml bottle might sit everyone throughtout a summer season. I disagree that this is Close to Aqua di sale, there is no salt in this one. It is more of Tom For Eau de soleil, Estee Lauder Bronze Goddness style.

Tangerine initial flush. A heavy frangipani necklace with shades of coconut and sweet fig. Sun-kissed and sea-blended skin mixed with bitter orange peel and petitgarain. It improves over time but reminds me of suntan lotions. ...so I advise... you not to wear it on the beach ... it would be redundant.

Not sure what to say about this abomination I bought a smaller bottle a while back and I never found the right occasion to wear it It’s filthy annoying and nauseating I tried ambergris fragrances before and I enjoy some of them but this one is in the disgusting side of ambergris I smelled beaches and waterfronts that smell less nauseating than this I wore it on my skin and undergarments when I can and when I’m in the comfort of my home and still it was just as bad and when I mustered the strength to wear it while visiting my relatives I hated every second of it even when I threw away my clothes the smell was still persistent like algae The only scenario I can see someone wearing it is while going on a fishing trip A disaster to ignore

Full strength ambergris, with full strength heavy flowers with full strength iodine and musk - smells like the first scent you'd make at a perfumery course, before the teacher even came in. Like most Fath essentials... I gave away the full discovery set, only kept Lilas Exquis.

This stinks! I had to scrub it off but it wouldn’t wash off. The smell is so strong I can still smell it on my wrist. It reminds me of Alien, just offensive! The notes I smell most are petitgrain, salty sea water, and Ambergris.

This started off well but the dry down is heavily dominated by the tangerine, so much so it’s completely unwearable for me. Nauseating, overpowering..... absolutely vile

This is my current favourite scent. Absolutely beautiful and works well for people like me who don ́t enjoy overly strong and in your face fragrances. And let me tell you this has serious sillage and serious performance despite being a gentle beauty. I thought this was intimate since it is soft and not disturbing to my nose but I get comments that I smell good from across the room hours in the wear. When I sprayed this for the first time I thought it ́s too masculine but changed my mind when the heart notes came through and won the show. The very beginning has some sort of herbal/spicy note to it which is not my fave but that doesn ́t bother my hubby who thinks this smells amazing on me from beginning to end. I would describe it as peppery seaweed maybe.. but that aspect of the scent disappears 1h in and that ́s when the deeper notes kick in and it becomes the most beautiful sweet musky skin + salty sea water + hints of coconut water concoction ever. Zero may I ad ZERO florals or suntan lotion or fancy lady in a summer dress vibes thank you Jesus! Natural and beautiful, would suit any person man or woman young or old, smells like clean cottony sweet skin and salty sea breeze. Cécile Zarokian did it again with this one. As picky and critical as I am with perfumes this is a 10/10 for me in every aspect. Easy wear, casual, unisex leaning a tad femme in the drydown, lasts 8-12h, projection 2-4 meters most of the wear time getting more intimate in the last 2-3h. Soft and natural scent more in the realm of "I smell this good because I spent a day at the shore and my skin smells amazing naturally" and less "I ́m wearing a perfume". There you go!

Did I miss anything? 😅

انجیر خامه ای فلورال کوراکائو بِی، بیش از اونکه عطری دریایی باشه، عطری فلورال و شیرین هست و بیش از اینکه بخوایم یه کار فلورال محض بدونیمش باید به رگه های انجیری، سبز و چوبی اون توجه کنیم. در واقع این عطر، در دو بخش رایحه ی خودش رو به نمایش میذاره که از نظر بنده، در بخش اول، جوان، پر هیجان، خام و ولع آمیزه و با ورود به بخش دوم، به این جوانی و شور بی پروا و خروشان و شهوانی، رنگی از بلوغ و تکامل و وقار میزنه. کوراکائو، انفجاری شیرین، شهد دار، خامه ای، میوه ای و شهوتگرا از همراهی فرانجیپانی، نوت های میوه ای و آکوردهای گل بو رو برای معرفی خودش انتخاب کرده. یه شیرینی گرم و اشتها آور که درست در لحظاتی که به سمت دلزننده شدن میره؛ با پس زمینه هایی سبز و آکواتیک همراه میشه؛ اما همچنان شیرین و فلورال و اغوگره. عطر میوه ایِ دریاییِ خامه ایِ شیرین و کمی سبز کوراکائو، جوان و با نشاط و خروشانه و ممکنه کمی حس گیجی و خستگی ایجاد کنه؛ اما با زیرکی، گردی از مشک به آرایش خودش اضافه میکنه که باعث میشه رفته رفته بسوی بلوغ و پختگی حرکت کنه. پختگی و بلوغی که با استفاده از لایه هایی انجیری-چوبی و صندوقچه ای بر این حجم از شیرینی فلورال خامه ای کشیده میشه تا با حسی لذیذ و خوشمزه از انجیر خامه آلود پودری و سبز آبدار، کوراکائو بِی به یه انتخاب قابل توجه برای بازخورد گرفتن در ایام رو به گرمی سال تبدیل بشه. کوراکائو بِی، عطر جدیدی نیست و شباهتهایی به کار وغز لو سود از همین برند داره. شباهتهایی از جنس انجیر و دریا، اما شیرین تر، ملیح و پودری، فلورال و میوه ای و نرمتر! و البته با ماندگاری و پخش قویتر... کامنت: م.ع (سایت لوکس بایر (با امکان تست سمپل

کوراسائو بی به معنی خلیج کوراسائو اسم جزیره و خلیجی واقع در دریای کاراییب در شمال ونزوئلا در آمریکایی جنوبی هست . نقطه‌ای نزدیک به خط استوا با حالتی بهشت گون از طبیعت سیسیل زاروکیییان پرفیور مشهور و محبوب در سال 2015 این عطر رو برای ژاک فت فرمول کرده . رایحه ای خارق العاده و منحصر بفرد که من شخصا تا امروز عطری مشابهش ندیدم . فضایی آرامش‌بخش از روایح دریایی و آکورد فلورال با حالتی تروپیکال ( استوایی) . کوراسائو رو وقتی اسپری میکنید حس و حال بوی دریایی و اقیانوسی شمارو فرا میگیره مثل بوی نت سنتتیک کالون که شبیه ساز بوی دریا و خنکی هست . چند دقیقه صبر که کنید بوی سبز و تیز پتی گرین و آکورد گلی در کنار بوی خنک دریایی تلاقی جالبی رقم می‌زنند. انگار تو ی ساحل استوایی با هوای مطبوع و عطر گلها و آرامش اقیانوس مشغول نوشیدن ی لیوان پیناکولادا هستید . کوراسائوبی پر از رنگ و بو هست عطریست بسیار شاد و شاداب مثل رقص و آوازهای همون منطقه از جامائیکا تا کوبا از پورتریکو تا هائیتی اگه حساس به روایح سنتتیک و کالون که کمی شبیه به بوی مواد شوینده هست نیستید. کوراسائو بی می‌تونه شما دعوت به سرزمین رنگ های شاد و آسمان آبی بکنه . عطری که می‌تونه بوی آرامش اقیانوس و بوی گل‌های مناطق حاره رو براتون به ارمغان بیاره. من این عطر رو خیلی دوست دارم جدا از رایحه و پرفومنس بسیار خوبش . شبیه هیچ عطری تقریبا نیست و بسیار یونیکه

Edit: the scent is more “complete” when it’s sprayed on clothes and you’re at a distance from it. It smells like what you think a blue tropical candle would smell like. The scent lasts on clothes! If you just apply it to your skin, not only is it typical for top notes to evaporate but ur body chemistry will seem to showcase only a part of this scent. — Smells like Maison Margiela Replica Beach walk + Dancing on the moon. The top notes are hardly there but did get a whiff of something peppery over the Sandy/jasminey plumeria & bottom notes. The plumeria + the bottom notes are very similar to Dancing on the moon that over most of the perfume’s life, they’re almost identical in scent. I would say tht Curaçao Bay is just the more gentler one (a bit more powdery than super sweet leaning; Dancing on the moon is super sweet). I didn’t want to rate it on how I liked it or not bcuz this isn’t my type of scent. I love plumerias but the ones tht are brighter & fruitier.

Just 1 year after Cecile Zarokian’s great creation, jul et mad_paris Aqua Sextius, she created 2 other Aquatic-marine fragrances for Jacques Fath: Vers Le Sud and Curacao Bay. Honestly speaking, I wanna say they all have the same DNA and vibe. There is some similarity in their general structure that is more obvious in Vers Le sud because of the fig-sea note pair. Curacao is a Dutch Caribbean island, known for its beaches. So Curacao Bay just like its name has a tropical, beachy, aquatic and floral smell. It starts up with some citrusy notes that is not so fresh or light. Then it follows with aquatic marine notes in the middle. The solar, sweet and powdery frangipani has a key role too. I also get lots of salty-sweet amber in the base note. It’s an aquatic floral fragrance for spring summer days. Moderate sillage and good longevity.

Part oceanic voyage, part tropical beach holiday. Curacao Bay takes the oceanic ambergris accord of Creed - specifically thinking of Erolfa - and mixes it with gentler florals, reminiscent of fragrances such as Lili Bermuda’s South Water. It’s a heavy, rich blend for a tropical fragrance - think the richness of Acqua Di Parma’s fragrances - and there is no bitterness from the citruses. Blackcurrant is a major factor in that richness and that, along with the ambergris & salt, gives off a sweaty, animalic vibe. Frangipani lends creaminess. Definitely unique, incredibly well-blended - and an acquired taste.
