Jacques Fath Irissime

As a premise I must tell I love iris as a flower and its smell in perfumes. I also must tell that I find that not always the iris note is well accomplished in the scents featuring it. Irissime is a very lovely scent and its iris note is a merry one; sometimes iris makes a scent either melancholic or you may find it hidden among sparkling citrus thus totally hiding it. Irissime beautifully balances the iris note among powdery, woody, and other flowers creating a nice balance conveying a merry impression. Sometimes you caught hues of Chanel N°19, some others hues of Capucci Yendi and so you might find yourself wondering "Where have I smelled this before?" but nonetheless it won't disappoint you. I love it more in winter than in spring, such a joyful scent, uplifting and radiant. Not cheap, I admit, but sillage and lasting power are great so you won't need to overdose it. Lovely scent, really lovely.

I’m usually very cautious about blind buying, but when I found this for just £18, I had to try it. I’ve been looking for a more refreshing iris fragrance, something that provides that classic elegance but still projects cleanly when the temperature rises. Irrisime is exactly what I was after. It is a wonderfully cool, smooth, and velvety iris that feels sophisticated rather than stuffy. Along with the star iris note, I clearly detect the wisteria, which gives the composition a beautiful, slightly airy, and soft purple-floral dimension. It has surprisingly good presence in the heat without becoming cloying. Only downside is because it's so light, it feels fleeting but at the price point, i'm really not that bothered! Very whimiscal! Edit: This is very similar to L'instant magic, just without that initial citrus blast and maybe it is ever so slightly softer.

Oh this is lovely!! I adore the history behind Irissime (recreated as a more "contemporary and feminine version" of the "Holy Grail" Iris Gris from 1946) and am sad it is discontinued. I agree with the comment below regarding Guerlain's L'instant Magic... but this is so much better, more elegant. L'instant Magic has a woody/baby powder note that just doesn't work for me. Irissime is cool, ethereal, powdery iris, sophisticated and impeccably chic. I don't detect any "fruit" others have noted below, and it is long lasting on my skin. The beautiful bottle was created to look like a diamond, which perfectly suits this exquisite scent! Please bring it back, Jacques Fath!!

Gracefully delicate iris. JF Irissime is a very beautiful iris scent, elegantly powdery without any stuffiness, softly clean and fresh without being soapy, velvetly makeupy without being old school. It makes me imagine a fine, classy lady in a casual-chic, pastel-colored linen outfit who’s just showered, lotioned, powdered and applied nude makeup. In brief, Irissime smells like a well groomed elegant lady to me. Performance is great for such a delicate smell; almost 8 hrs on my skin, while Prada’s IdI lasted only a couple if my memory serves me. Amazing 🤩

Wow, this is iris? I think I like it!! I received a sample of this today and I must say that this is one of the most elegant fragrances that I've ever been exposed to. Everything about this is JUST RIGHT. The longevity is decent. The sillage is perfect. The drydown is delicate (not too musky) and this is a pure pleasure to my nose. I'm pretty sure I'd LOVE this on a woman. I'd be foolish to declare this to be a unisex-in-hiding. But I do believe that the right man can pull this one off in the Autumn/Winter, maybe even the Spring. I AM the right man. ;)

Irissisme is so incredibly elegant and gorgeous. I am totally in love. It may seem cold and somewhat distant in the beginning, however as time passes a comforting and reassuring warmth starts to show. It makes me think of early spring, of flowers poking out from beneath the melting snow and of being surrounded by historical buildings during a late-afternoon walk through a beautiful city. It also vaguely reminds me of Place Vendome EDT by Boucheron. Not surprising considering their heart and base notes are almost identical.

I’m so very blessed to own a fab 3.3 bottle of Irissime by Fath as well as Shalimar EDT. Today while wearing Shalimar EDT (Iris forward) I had an epiphany, I refreshed my Shalimar, then sprayed two small spritzes of Irissime on my chest and blouse. Oh, My, Gorgeousness! What an amazing experience! I call it “Velours d’Iris” It’s velvety cool Iris from both fragrances with the rich warmth from the (vanilla-Tonka in Shalimar). Absolutely heavenly! I think I’ve at long last, found my signature scent!

Worth it if you are into the historical value of the brand and the Holy Grail (as many know it) that is Iris Gris. I don't have the original, but I have Dua's copy of it. There's a similarity of fruit and iris, but Irissime is definitely modern in comparison. You can really smell the pink pepper, which makes it very different as a whole. It obviously doesn't command the Iris Gris prices though, so that's fine with me. The bottle is gorgeous and the juice smells like iris shampoo. Very nice.

I absolutely adore this scent as its so unique and I've not come across anything quite like it, but sadly it does not last. I've resprayed and resprayed but for some reason it just disappears in under 40nins. Maybe its because I might have become anosmic to it by then? I'm not sure but I would love to know.

A blind buy. I love it. It's not much like the Iris Gris (I have some of that holy grail of perfumes) but it is still terrific all the same. I wore it the other day and kept sniffing the air wondering what smelled so lovely, it was me! Well it was the perfume of course. Worth hunting it down. Delightful

What a beautiful powdery floral scent; especially the Iris is very pretty.

I went through three stages with Irissime, before I could state I love it. At first it reminded me too much of Bvlgari BVL by the clear and strong accord of wisteria, then bergamot was really bothering me, too fizzy and loud and behind its fruitiness I couldn't reach that mysterious Iris I was after. I didn't give up and at last was rewarded. It fact it happened today. I automatically chose the perfume (with no realization it was Irissime whatsoever), went to shop and while I was walking up and down, I kept smelling something incredibly classy and unusual...Not similar with anything I smelled before..Mostly it was ambergris and iris..I was driving home biting lip as I didn't remember what did I spray (yes, it happens when u have bottles all over the place). Then it hit me - Irissime! It DOES need some air, take it out for a walk, let it dance with the wind. Now I see this silver shiny mystery as a whole piece. Great bottle by the way, keep reminding me of UFO. But actually it shaped as a diamond, as Jacques Fath loved diamonds. Discontinued already. Irissime was created by Marie Salamagne of Firmenich. It is a homage paid to a mythical perfume, Iris Gris, rather than a faithful historical reconstitution of it.

Very lovely iris-centered fragrance! BTW, I was able to buy it very inexpensively at TK Maxx in the UK; it has been discontinued. Its sillage is excellent but not overpowering. The iris is more floral than rooty, probably because of the combination with wisteria, but it is unmistakably iris. The pink pepper adds a nice, light spiciness. The drydown is soft and warm. Very, very pretty, and I can see myself wearing this a lot this summer, especially to work because it is classic, subtle, and elegant.

This is very similar to the original Lolita Lempicka EDT that had little stones adorning the bottle and a silver stem sprayer. I know that's quite coveted and hard to find, so this makes an ok replacement if you're hard pushed to find that one! 😮 I sprayed this on the back of my hand today and asked my friend what he thought. He immediately responded, "is it a Lempicka?" 😉

My mother-in-law smelled this last week, and immediately fell in love- Why? "It smells like a baby"!

The smell is quite nice iris powdery but vanishing within 30 minutes. Reapplying does not help at all, not leaving a trace. Therefore, waste of money.

Yuk. I blind bought this and am so bummed. I will swap or sell. This smells like fruit fruit and more fruit. Not sure where the iris is. This goes on for me with a blast of alcohol then a fruity floral. I hate fruit in perfume with flowers. Ugh. Fruit is not listed in the notes but this is sickening sweet and fruity. The iris finally shows itself in the base as the fragrance gets a bit more powdery in the drydown.

Unfortunately, the musk in this is very medicinal and ruins the softness of this iris. I am discovering that musk is a difficult note for me, many times it takes on a touch of "bug spray" or antiseptic, in this case.

I am glad I got a sample vial first - on me (or to me) it smells like a baby powder. Kind of like a cheaper version of Chanel #5.

Aaah why am I already hunting this bottle on ebay! Must...resist.....:D This is a special one, I've been on a bit of a journey smelling several dozen irises and powdery musks and everyone now and again one really stands out in a way I have to remind myself just how much perfume I already own. There's something really romantic, or rather aromatic about this one (like with the last one I bought) the combination of notes somehow do a dance that just hits all the right spots. I think here it's the wysteria which adds a srping floral twist in a way not many powdery irises have, and the bergamot making it all sparkle. Super nice. I do already own one that stood out amongst the other irises in a similar way (CK Eternity intense) so I will just have to resist this one...if I can, there's a bottle on ebay for a real good price. Someone put me out of my misery and just buy it already! Edit: This does not last on me. Gone in a few moments....sad, but thank god.
