Tempête d’Automne

With regard to scent, this is a masterpiece of sensuous, dry woodiness. I LOVE fragrances like these. Reminds me a bit of SJP Stash, and I think it has to be the pepper accord which they share. It also has a Lalique Encre Noire vibe, which is another one I love, and I think Tempête d’Automne has the same darkness and smoky feel that Encre Noire has. When I first sampled Encre Noire, I had a very "OHHH!" moment when I sensed how different and magnetic that fragrance was for me. I had the same reaction today when I removed the cap of Tempête d’Automne to sample it for the first time. It shares a deep, woody, dry earthiness - and a darkness - with both of the above-mentioned fragrances that I just cannot get enough of. When I lift my wrist to my nose, it's like stepping into another realm. Very dark and mysterious, otherworldly and not of this time. Tempête d’Automne has a very dry, and somewhat masculine vibe, although I will have no problem whatsoever wearing this anywhere, maybe with the exception of a very formal event, and that's simply because I think it could be abrasive next to feminine evening wear. I could, however, see this on the kind of woman who might be pantsuit-forward for an evening out. I would love to smell this on the right man. WOW. Sillage and longevity are both weak to moderate, and I'd love to find something a bit better quality that would last and project. I've had it on less than two hours, and I'm already tempted to re-spray a bit. Scent is a 10 - so well-blended and magnificent, but longevity and projection keep it from being a total package. I will still wear it often, and will simply have to re-apply liberally. Edited to add: As time goes on, I'm definitely smelling a Palo Santo vibe. Edit 2: Upon waking the morning after having sampled this fragrance the day before, I am enveloped in a sensuous cloud of this spectacular fragrance. I must have become somewhat insensitive to it the day I applied it, because it was still going strong the next morning. I enjoyed it immensely while making my coffee! I am changing my longevity rating to moderate to long-lasting. It clearly goes the distance.

So so GOOD! Id read somewhere that this scent was "Boring" bc once it dries down it "Just smells like Cinnamon".. NOT TRUE! Yes, I suppose I can pick out some Cinnamon, but its way more nuanced than that! GORGEOUS fresh AND warm spices along with the creamy Lactonic "Milk note" and barely there leather note make this a Fall/Winter, Signature Scent worthy, Bomb-A$$ scent! Cant wait till things cool down just a bit here in Florida so that I can rock Tempête D'Automne as much as possible! Lasts long on skin (7 to 8 hrs) with good projection the first hour and settling a bit closer thereafter. Super Unique, DEFINATELY "Niche", and I TOTALLY lucked out as I decided to grab a 3.4 oz bottle for around $25 FREAKIN' BUCKS on Fragrancenet before it was gone a few days ago! So glad I grabbed this along with L'oree Du Bois which is a Unisex-leaning masculine Floral and Vers le Sur which is a Fig-Leaf, tart, green summer gem. ALL BOMB-A$$ FRAGRANCES and its so sad theyve been discontinued! Tempête D'Automne is a real LOVE for me and an 8.5 outta 10 fragrance imo! So "Yummy" and Cozy! It Meika me hoppy!☺️

Surprisingly enough, this comes off pretty fresh. Really quite office safe. Clean classic masculine leaning unisex. I don't understand why people are dogging on this. It's one of my favorites from the line. Maybe because it doesn't come of as a maceys ethyl maltol mega sweet cheapie or some clone packed with ambroxan and iso e super. Clean, subtly floral, some spices with detectable cinnamon. This really is my kind of stuff. This will not wow a crowd, but it will elevate an attire. 22% oil concentration parfum. This is not an extrait concentration. Decent projection and longevity. The perfumer is known for smooth blends.

I absolutely love this scent. It's a delight. Sweet, creamy, milky rivers. A warming, enveloping scent of lactone and coumarin. For me, the scent seems to split in two, like sitting on a cool autumn veranda with a mug of boiled milk sprinkled with cinnamon and marshmallows. It truly does remind me of fallen, fiery leaves: hay-like, slightly earthy, a little mushroomy. I also detect a hint of warm body; perhaps this is the very leather mentioned in the pyramid. To me, leather here is warm and alive, not the scent of leather goods.

Tempête d’Automne has quickly become my favorite from the line. It comes across as a spicier take on arroz con leche, with a rich, creamy gourmand profile that feels both comforting and refined. Cinnamon, sandalwood, and a milky accord take center stage, creating a smooth, enveloping warmth. At the same time, touches of lavender and leather add a bit of structure and keep it from leaning too sweet, giving the fragrance a more polished, grown up feel. Overall, it’s a beautifully balanced gourmand and an easy pick for fall.

Gorgeous autumnal fragrance that could sizzle most evenings. Couldn't add much to the reviews below - it's a spicy chaos that works and feels like one long lovely drydown from something that was a bit too much just half an hour ago. I say autumnal in particular as I find it very reminiscent of bonfires and spiced wines, there's even a hint of fireworks/cordite from the melange, but it's not so strong to make it wintery weather only. Got the tester selection to try Curacao Bay, surprised this doesn't get more attention.

I find most reviews here troublesome. To me this is simply a sweet blended whisky scent with a warm floral amber heart - clearly cinnamon is is smoothly blended I help create the body it’s built around however it by no means makes it just a cinnamon scent. Very intoxicating - like a darker warmer version of Le Dandy by D’Orsay which is sadly finished. Only complaint is for the price - unlike some Jacques Fath this is low on the sillage and poorer on the longevity but I love it.

Testing my sample; this opens with a zesty and peppery orange that leans sweet, gets warmer, woodier, and spicier as it dries down, vaguely creamy. The cinnamon and sandalwood stand out quite prominently on my skin. It definitely reminds me of Egoiste as some reviews mention below, which is as delightfully autumnal as this. Cool/cold weather only, my elbow is projecting this quite strongly.

A cinnamon liqueur, cognac like at first brings on some sweet mandarin before a creamy spicy sandalwood sets the long dry down. It’s like carrying a piece of spicy wood soaked with soft Grand Marnier. Blind buy, mixed feelings - not sure it’s exemplary for the price but it will tick many boxes for some.

Tender sandalwood with a beautiful fresh and spicy side. I feel like the citrusy and pepperypart is quite strong in the beginning but it sort of calms down after 10-20mins and then it’s just a pure softness.

This is a long lasting amber, and it is close, very close, to Tango by Masque Milano...they are both done by the same perfumer, and it shows.

I bought a Jacques Fath discovery set when buying my vial of Iris de Fath. Tempête d'Automne is my first non-iris Fath scent to try, and what a great place to start. In a nutshell, it is a smooth, spicy sandalwood scent, high-quality and deeply pleasant throughout. TA opens with a juicy, bright orange note with a prominent pink pepper note up top. The sandalwood develops slowly in the background, the focal point of this scent. It is smooth and high-quality, reminiscent of the now-restructed Mysore sandalwood of vintage greats, a feat, considering that this scent is a modern creation. This smoothness can likely be attributed to the lactonic notes that add a creamy warmth to the sandalwood, and the coumarin that adds a smooth, balsamic quality to the background. It remains spicy, with cinnamon emerging as it develops, while lavender adds a nice aromatic quality to the heart. There is a soft sweetness here thanks to the other floral notes, but this remains subtle - the spiced sandalwood forms the crux of this scent. It becomes musky and leathery as it dries down, with some dry vanilla adding sweetness. The cinnamon-sandalwood accord lingers until final fade, smooth and satisfying throughout. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is a unisex, autumn/winter scent. Wonderfully smooth and rich, TA is a great modern sandalwood scent; easy-to-wear and elegant throughout. It is very well-composed - streamlined and cohesive despite the plethora of notes. Good stuff. 4/5.

This is quite particular. I have the storm of notes the first half hour. In particular with a dessert of cinnamon, mandarin,tonka and a masculine rubbery skin that is more reminiscent of an horse than an accessory to wear. In the time that follows I capture sandalwood and accommodated flowers. I don't understand the resemblance to 21 Costume National ... beyond the lactone note. 21 focuses on warm amber milk, patchouli and saffron while coriander,citrus fruits and spices emerge in this. 21 is comforting, smooth, nocturnal, and more gourmand, but this one is lively, diurnal, bittersweet, more masculine with hints of leather and a mature atmosphere of lavender-coffee. They are both pleasant. I believe that 21 is a blind and safe choice. Tempête d'Automne is not a new planet but it is pleasant and harmless. The sillage is near and longevity good. I recommend it because it can be an everyday choice if you love "serious sweetness" and you can find it even at an affordable price.

Beginning is bright zesty citrus mix with alcohol undertones. Then is gets spicy, mainly cinnamon-y. In more 10 min it gets really soft and smooth, warm milk with lavender and coriander (yes, those two are most intense to me, not tonka or sandalwood, and I get zero leather, not even hint). That phase reminds me of Diesel Plus Plus I used to wear in childhood, very similar in my opinion. After that no development follows, it just stays that warm, quite silent and close to skin. Overall it's a safe blind buy, not offensive or anything extravagant. But it lacks character and individuality a bit on my taste, so probably would not be worn often.

A warm spicy musk with an earthy-leathery sandalwood base and faint hints of orange and lavender. The milk accord lends a thick, semisolid consistency to the musk and boosts the creaminess of the sandalwood. The top notes add some pop but the cinnamon and coriander dominate the scent profile. All that remains in the deep drydown is the spiced woods. Moderately strong projection fades over 2-3hr, longevity 12hr+. I was expecting something weirder from the milk, but it really blends in quite seamlessly with the musk and sandalwood.

This one is merely alright, nothing outstanding. I think the scent is pleasant but seems very weak, or I go anosmic to it quickly. First time I've tried a "milk" note in a fragrance and I must say I notice it, not sure how to feel about it. Overall it matches the name, will revisit in the autumn maybe will work better than the end of winter.

I'm pretty sure i left a previous, uncomplimentary, review, which is now missing. 🙄 I kept this from last fall/winter hoping the juice would mature. No such luck. I'm glad some other people like it. On me, this is utterly disgusting burnt cinnamon: one-dimensional, linear, synthetic. That's it. I have a 3.3 Oz bottle avl in the US. Obv, test before you buy (if you can). Happy sniffing!

This fragrance is so chaotic, haha. It's not awful, but the swirl of floral, citrus, and musky flavors is dizzying, with each one competing with the other. Not to mention the streak of milk running through it all, whew. It's slightly nauseating, but I respect it?

Smells a lot like play-doh on my skin. It's the soft sandalwood/cinnamon/milk effect. Relents after hours to simple soft sandalwood. An unfinished, weird yet boring dud. If I were Cécile Zarokian I would pretend that this never happened. EDIT: I tried again yesterday. They play-doh vibe has subsided, and I started to think I might have jumped the gun, I started enjoying it. That lasted 15 minutes before the milk accord asserted itself. It's soft and milquetoast. Autumnal sweet milk perfume. When I imagine walking around smelling like this as a man.... Like I am disguising myself as harmless. I would fear being labeled a pedophile. So not really unisex. But then I picture what sort of woman might wear this and I'm just as befuddled. A person without a sex drive, afraid of their own power. Awaken! Embrace your sexuality and your strength! Be real and honest!

12. September 2021 Testing the sample spray vial, new and fresh from official web-site order. First of all, a few words about these 4 fragrances from this particular set (Red shoes, Velors boise, Tempete d ́automne and Le Loden): they are all very polarizing. I have tried them all, and gave them a proper wear test, but I strangely like and dislike them at the same time. I have already written a review for "Red shoes" and though i sort of drawn to the weirdness of that fragrance i would not find an occasion to wear it and same goes with other 3 from this group. This one starts out bit weird, because of the (in my opinion) unnecessary sourish bergamot accord, which in the mix with lavender and wood gives a non-appealing vibe. But after a while the fragrance becomes very linear and in the end it smells like a rosewood but it also reminding me of something very familiar and very mainstream: a drydown of the modern version of Chanel ́s "Egoiste". I see that also more people agree with that and it is so true, i could tell it right away even before checking "This reminds me of..." section. Strange indeed, but i swear "TdA" smells like the next day "Egoiste". I love Egoiste and my man wears it a lot, so i know it well enough. Since i like Egoiste it is a soft "like" from me, but i do not like that it is still very linear and sillage is not that great. More masculine, than feminine, but a female could wear it too. If i would like to wear Egoiste, but would not want to smell exactly like Egoiste, then i would wear "TdA", but do i really have to? Once again, like i wrote above, a very polarizing fragrance and it is not a hate, but not a love, yet something is there..... it sure provokes some feelings and emotions.

Sweet spiced fruit and cinnamon sweets over milky sandalwood (aka the essence of Autumn) Lovely composition and the best blind buy of the year (for a ridiculous price of 60 euro for a 100ml bottle) So it starts off with a clear Chanel inspiration minus the tart citronellol citrus of Egoiste and BDI (its mentioned below extensively so I wont elaborate extensively) picture the clementine mixed with the bright spicy baked apple/stone fruit note. This is however as far as the similarity goes. The plot deviates quickly when the first facets of the milk accord emerge, sandalwood raw materials and lactonic notes, seen in tons of other fragrances marketed as a sandalwood note. However while this is the point where I usually run for bathroom sink because of the strong similarities to thrown up milk rice, this fragrance has found a trick to avert expectation. The gooeyness of the milk rice is interupted by a stream of cinnamyl aldehyde (could also be cinnamon acetate) aka the sharper and sweeter cinnamon note encountered in cinnamon flavored chewing gum, cuts through the milky sandalwood material to clean up the experience. This is a simplification, im sure there is more technical prowess coming from Cecile Zarokian to manifest this illusion, but the end result is astounding. Overall very satisfying. Its a spin on milky sandalwood I havent seen elsewhere and it adds up to a very clever end result, silky, warm and very comforting. Its a scent meant to be sprayed liberally, diffusive but not cloying or too tenacious. A feel good scent for the first cold weeks of the year.

I can absolutely see the kinship people find with Egoiste and Bois Des Iles (but especially Egoiste). The way the sandalwood is treated with vanilla and coumarin and juxtaposed with lighter and more transparent linalool (rosewood/coriander) and something that evokes the red fruits of damascones...that part feels very BDI/Egoiste. And florals definitely play a big role in sculpting the creamy, sweet sensation the scent produces. Where they differ is a big scaling down of anything especially aldehydic as well as of the rosy, citronella-like oddness of those two aforementioned scents...plus an amping up of milky notes (which go well with the sandalwood). Lovers of the Chanels should explore this reasonably priced variation on that theme.

This fragrance confuses me. It's like an uncompleted fragrance. It has a dusty undertone, which is not appealing to me. I can get most of the notes in the fragrance, but they are in a non-harmonious, unbalanced format. The milk accord makes this fragrance a bit weird. If you like this type of scent, try the Egoist by Chanel. That's a really excellent fragrance with a refined scent, a much much better version of this fragrance. 6.5/10

I agree with the reviewers who describe it as messy and unfinished. The ingredients are more like the low quality stuff used in the food and flavour industry. It does not smell like a true 'extrait' and lacks depth and staying power. The same goes for Velours Boisé.

Top/mid is discordant and hard to get one’s head around. Drydown smells like bar soap from the health food store.

I can agree with the comment below on velours boisee. Disgusting
