Opening is a rugged ashy vellum, gaiac wood with a nice whiskey that has a hint of fermented sour mash nuance. This could be a little difficult for some (whiskey, wormwood)but I really like it's semi raw character. Beyond that it's starts getting a bit sweeter and it transitions to a nice sassafras vibe, while retaining the charred gaiac and sandalwood. The sassafras reminds me of one of my favorite Kilian fragrances, Amber Oud. However, Kilian AA is smokier agarwood and the sassafras is much stronger. Someone below mentioned Franck Boclet Vinyl but to me, that one has a prominent chocolate patchouli along with a jack and coke vibe. They both contain whiskey, but their execution is very different. Marketed as unisex but this is squarely masculine imo. ------------------------------------ If you like whiskey, sour mash (slight), gaiac, sassafras, or if you have been thinking about dropping a big money on a discontinued bottle of Kilian AA (be careful of counterfeits) then this is definitely you could check out. If you want to go up market fromthis, look at YSL 6 Place Saint.

So unique! I smell a lot of whisky and dark heavy wood. Sometimes I catch the very literal smell of a rum and coke. It definitely gives dive bar vibes. But I can also smell a distinctly culinary herbal edge as well as spice rack spices and a touch of floral honey. And there is a dry bitter-sweetness to it as well, like iced tea or licorice has (without smelling like either one). Like the dive bar secretly has an apothecary hidden out back. Every sniff shows me new facets! Love love love! Very niche and very interesting. Bravo.

12. September 2021 Testing the sample spary vial, new and fresh from official web-site order. This is a very masculine leather fragrance (at least on my skin, even though the leather is not listed here). It starts again quite weird, why there is always a bergamot and leather/wood in many fragrances combined together? Who said their combination smells good anyway? But once that stage passed, then it is all about a vintage leather biker jacket or thick leather coat. It smells like it has been worn to many those dark pubs back in the day, where they still could smoke cigars inside, it has some cologne traces on it, sweat and tears :) It is bitter, dark, somehow greenish, yet spicy, but somehow also very sexy, despite of the mix of all those associations (in my head at least). I really enjoy it myself on my skin and i hope my man would also enjoy it. It is quite simple, yet somehow very appealing. I would really enjoy it on a man, but also secretly would wear a spritz on myself once in a while. Sillage and especially lasting power are actually very good, so one spray is more than enough for me, to enjoy it during cold time of the year. The longer it stays on my skin, the more i like it, just like your favorite leather jacket: the more you have been through together, the more it is dear to you.

Hmm... big Green Water Vintage and new EDP fan. Bling bought a few of the new releases. Big Whiskey Scent fan too... This was the more appealing blind buy. Rich amber medicinal slightly sweet blended whiskey with a creamy dark spice woody spice underneath. I’m a big Le Dandy fan - technically it’s a killer performance Whiskey scent albeit made up of florals et al that give an astonishing approximation. This on the other hand is honest. A Whiskey that could be a scent if that makes sense. Only Slumberhouse Baque and Kiste compete. I’ve tried so many - only the above mentioned do it justice. The only complaint is performance is not on par in terms of longevity and the dry down evolves somewhat rapidly into more of an amber spice scent ala Lubin Korrigan. Still... serendipitous
