Vers Le Sud by Jacques Fath: A Lovely and Serious Fig ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Vers Le Sud by Jacques Fath was a perfume that I fell in love with at first sniff. It was sprayed on my clothes by the shop keeper when I was ordering another perfume, and it stayed with me for three days during my trip to another city. It was a lovely and serious fig, with amber, herbs, and musk. It was a borderline unisex scent, but leaning more towards the feminine side. It was a little sweet, aromatic, and gourmand, but not edible. It had a yellow color, like the sun in the south. The perfume was similar to Fico Di Amalfi by ADP, but less playful and more sillage heavy. It was a creation of Jacques Fath, a serious house that does not mess with anybody and takes everything seriously. It was a niche perfume, and not very popular or hyped, which made it more special and unique. It was a perfume that required thorough investigation before buying, as some of their perfumes were intolerable, like Curacao Bay, and some were lovely, like Bel Ambre. I considered them a sane niche house, unlike some others that went nutty and weird. The performance of this perfume was superb, especially on clothes. It lasted for days, and had a mild and pleasant sillage. It was a four season perfume, but it worked better in colder environments, as it gave a cozy and comforting vibe. I bought a bottle of this perfume many years later, after I fell in love with it, but it was probably defective, as it had a leaking dent on it. I fixed it with UV resin, but maybe that affected the perfume, as I lost some of the top notes. I still enjoyed it, but it was not the same as the first time. I gave it 4 stars, as it was a lovely and serious fig, but not perfect.

This is going for dirt cheap right now, and i think fig is an interesting note that i usually enjoy...so i bought it. This stuff is pretty nice, its not extremely complex but i think it does what its trying to do well, with quality smelling accords and ingredients. I dont want to get too far into the weeds because i just got it but i will tell people that if 10 years ago you loved 3AM with the fig note, but youve moved on and youre more mature now, this might really scratch an itch for you. Decent performance, it lasts a while but after a few hours it calms down. Heat revives it, in that way it behaves as a parfum which is the concentration advertised. Its definetely unisex but mostly because theres one point (that doesnt last forever) where the florals shine bright. Mostly jasmine (which as a dude isnt the end of the world) but a sense of some soapy clean white floral notes too for that period of time. The opening is akin to a classic cologne style besides the fig which is more unique, then the fig comes way out front, then the florals pop up, then in the drydown its decently mossy and woody but never stuffy or too old school. One interesting thing about the opening is the lemon and fig create basically a perfect lemonhead candy note, in a good way. The lemon phases out into straight fig over time in a really cool way. I plan on wearing this in hot weather. Worth checking out for the prices at discounters 100%

It evokes a mix of lavender and clean hair gel, paired with a relaxed yet chic, slightly 'sweaty' style. It was such a beautiful blend. I was torn about getting a full bottle for a long time. I’ve been using the sample at the gym. I have a particular obsession with that humid, indoor, chlorinated pool scent, and since I found that vibe in this fragrance, it was easy for me to feel connected to it. It’s playful and elegant. While it leans definitely more masculine, I love wearing it simply because the scent itself is so beautiful. A fantastic fragrance with incredibly smooth edges.

I love Vers Le Sud's effervescent citrus opening that turns into a bright, creamy-woody comforting scent. Very nice indeed - and perfect for a sunny spring day. With its arrival in my collection, I'm sorry to say that my Acqua di Parma Colonia Pura's days are numbered ... to be offloaded to my relatives.I appreciated AdP Colonia Pura but it doesn't quite morph into something else that's memorable - unlike Jacques Path's Vers Le Sud.

It's really great. Very clean, fresh and maybe even top-level carecosmetic fragrance, not a trivial aquatic.. unisex but well suited to young guys... I imagine surfers or skateboarders with this scent.. long hair maybe, oversized t-shirt u know.. carefree mood.. ) For me is a scent in the style of the Lords of Dogtown movie. At the same time, it is a very sophisticated perfume, well done. I love it.

Aaaah what a wonderous, outdoorsy thing, just heaven. Bitter citrus, the fig mixed with sea spray, wonderfully blended. Great work, will reach for it often, outside of summer season too I'm sure. Perfectly unisex. And another positive note: Jacques Fath Inc have a very good sample service and bring their fragrances in 15 mls as well, making it very easy and affordable to try out their collection.

Ive had this for about 4 months now and i think its a damn shame that it has a <4 star rating and this went to discounters for 30 bucks. If you have any interest in the note of fig whatsoever, you should experience this. I really enjoy the mossy vibe for a modern fragrance as well (its not a funky or heavy moss) and the lemon top note together creates a beautiful sparkling combo.

For those who are looking for a Sean Jean 3am alternative, this is it right here with depth. I really love this fragrance as it transitions into multiple things but still keep that bright fig note going strong. If you can find this it worth buying. It starts as a bright fig scent, then dry down to dry but slightly bright fig composition.

It's unlike any smell I've ever smelled. This is what it makes me feel briefly, you're in your summer house, the floor ceramics of the house have been freshly wiped with detergents, clean tulle blowing with the sea air blowing through the open windows and peace.

Beautiful fragrance. Smells like a holiday in the Mediterranean- the fig and musk combination is spectacular, with the lavender and lemon giving a beautiful lift in the top. This perfume manages to be fresh yet cosy at the same time. Great job!

How is this rated so low? This is sexiness in a bottle. Creamy, citric, aquatic, fresh, and slightly green. I'm ugly af and I got a flury of compliments with this. The best $15 I have ever spent on a fragrance. This is heaven.

This is really good fresh green summer scent. I am not sure why its getting bad reviews. It works very well as projection and performance.

A solid fig fragrance with a foot in modern blue fragrance nuances, and another in classic barbershop sensibilities. scent breakdown - Opens with punchy lemon, clean lavender, and a green fig leaf accord that come together to harken back to citrus aromatics of yesteryear. Still, the predominant green fig leaf keeps it rooted in modernity. As it begins to dry down, the classical touches and fig mix with the sea breeze accord you find in Curacao Bay by the same house. By this time, the fig has taken center stage while the aromatics, citrus, and blue notes support and fill out the edges of the fragrance. In the deep dry down, the oakmoss reveals to the wearer that you were fooled into wearing a chypre all along. personal thoughts - I am really shocked that this fragrance is rated as lowly as it is, especially for the price you can buy Jacques Fath's fragrances, even from their own website. Sure, it's not the most remarkable fig, but I also can't think of any other fig fragrances that take both classical and modern nuances and try to smash them together like they do here. I don't see this appealing to most people <25-28, because of its throwback opening, but in my experience, it really tones back and becomes fairly benign as it dries down. If Cécile Zarokian toned the super aromatic and citric qualities of the opening back a bit more before bringing this to market, I could've totally seen this being heralded as one of the best from the house. It's a shame it's discontinued, but I wouldn't spend more than $70 trying to get a bottle. performance - Surprisingly potent performance of 8-10 hours on my skin, especially leaning towards the latter if you're sitting in AC rating - 7.6/10. when to wear - Beachside resort work conferences; Strolls through the park with your partner in the late spring; Sitting on the balcony watching the sunrise on a lazy summers morning song vibe - AM Radio by Everclear TLDR - Classic Citrus Aromatic Notes + Green, leafy Fig + Clean, slightly salty Blue Notes. This pretty deliberately harkens back to citrus aromatics of yesteryear, but with the addition of modern accords like figs and blue-style notes. If you like profiles like "Eau Sauvage" by Dior, "Fiero" by Xerjoff, or the many others on the market, but want something a bit more modern, see if you can pick up a bottle on the cheap. Sophisticated, but not super serious.

You get exactly what's in the notes description above. It starts with lemon and a bit of lavender, then quickly the sea accord joins in. It's not "fishy" or anything like that, its almost "ozonic", like the smell of a wet stone. After that it becomes a green scent, as the fig leaf accord makes it's appearance. I can see the resemblance to l'Arbre de la Conaissance at this stage, but it's more like a refined, much more toned down version of it; l'AdlC is too harsh for me personally. The violets here are in small dose thankfully; I guess they give a slight ozonic, petrol like smell, but nothing to worry about, its very minimal. I didn't personally detect any other florals, as mentioned above. Late stage is a soft green fig leaf and clean musc. I personally don't like fig scents as they usually go into that milky direction, or they are too sharp and too green. Vers le Sud is different, it's never too much anything, and smells very nice, especially if smelled off someone else. Longevity is actually good, projection is average.

I'm not familiar with fig. In my imagination it would be like an earthy darker resinous apricot. I can't say what the fig does in here. I do get citrus, florals with the stem and all with pettigrain standing out. It gets soapy and musky. In the heart the florals come out and they have chlorine and sunscreen on them. It has summer cologne vibes that last awhile. Citrus is very sharp right away and keeps a tart essence. The opening is rough but that tart lingering essence is nice. There is nice woody note like Tonka in the base. Decent performance and longevity for a freshie. Well rounded transitions from top to bottom. It smells nice and uplifting. Nothing mind blowing. Easy one to pass on.

Green citrus marine. Fig leaves with sour lemon pulp tempered by lavender, plus a salty sea breeze. Once the opening settles a soft floral core makes its presence felt. Moderately strong projection fades over 2-3hr, longevity 8-10hr. As far as green-tinted aquatics, I don't think this stands up to Ms. Zarokian's version of Green Water nor especially not her Jul et Mad release, Aqua Sextius.

Of the four Jacques Fath fragrances I own this is easily my favorite. Very pleasant, clean uplifting scent profile. Would recommend if you enjoy the sort of beach vacation vibe. To me it's pretty unisex as a male i still think it is appropriate to wear and not feel weird about it.

I agree with the comment: "Green + musk + oceanic + fig". More for a man, nice for spring and summer. Not so unique, can be a signature scent, compatible with the open space. 6/10 (my husband wear it, not me)

It's pretty feminine to my nose but I still like it. I don't hate it. I'll wear it around the house but it's just not really my style.

رایحه‌ی لیمویی علفی که حس دریایی و نمکی هم داره از همون ابتدا بوی بنفشه بسیار قدرتمنده خیلی حالت کَره ای و چرب و پودری داره انگار روی بقیه نُت ها می‌ماسه؛مثل چربی گوشت که از روی ذغال برداشه شده و کاملا سرد شده این حجم از بنفشه برام جذاب نبود و ای کاش کم رنگ تر و در حاشیه بود برگ انجیر تم سبز و گزنده ای داره و لا به لای بنفشه پیداست به مرور بنفشه کنترل میشه ولی باز هم حرف اول رو توی عطر می‌زنه اما روایح چوبی و علفی هم بیشتر تو صحنه میاد و کمی بالانس میشه ماندگاری لیمو تا میانه های عطر،یک نکته‌ی جذاب به حساب میاد خوب بود،همین ***************** scent:6.5/10 longevity:8/10 sillage:7/10 purchase value:5/10 ********* overall:6.6/10

Fresh, on my skin I get male vibe from this scent, so not for me. But on a man this is a fresh, mild everyday scent. (Samplekit)

At first I enjoyed this, but the longer I spent with it I could smell the metallic musk note in it. At first it reminded me of Miami on a nice isolated beach. But it just seemed to fall apart after some repeated wearing. It began to not be pleasant any more, and actually bother me. Green + musk + oceanic + fig. That is what I smell according to strength. Not a fan. It was a blind buy. I was expecting something similar to Balade Sauvage, but got something much worse.

To summarize my experience with this: I let my friend try it before we went out on a double date during the day and he said jokingly, "Are you trying to sabotage me?" The scent is old fashioned and not in a pleasant way for me.

I gave this another chance because I love fig frags, but I think this is pretty disgusting. Salty, waxy, and cloyingly sweet and citric acidic cleaning liquid. I'm sorry to say there's a reason it went for so cheap.

It has a cloying waxy sweetness to it like cleaning solutions. I don't like it, but will try it again when it gets really hot and humid

First I would like to thank Darkviolet to let me have a sample of this perfume during our visit in last esxence. That's a pity that there were not enough samples for both of us and maybe that's why there aren't so many reviews about such a great perfume. Vers le sud is my favorite out of four and it reminds me exactly of siting under a fig tree in a sunny beach while drinking a citrus cocktail. Not a crowded beach, but a very calm one that you can sit nearby for hours and enjoy the landscape of turquoise see. The whole experience is extremely refreshing,cool and relaxing (maybe because of lavender?) without being repetitive nor boring. I also smell something like coconut, which might be because of the exotic,green feeling I'm getting from it. It reminds me of some of Acqua di Parma perfumes,yet it's better than all of them. I'm surprised that some people hated this fragrances, but maybe it's soon to judge it based on so few people who have already voted. also, be careful not to overdose, it is super strong and extremely long lasting.

Creamy lemony milky green scent. Nice. Very vintage. I thought it was a rebuilt of a Fath of the 50s. Smell a bit like Ecran Aftersun lotion (white bottle green writes and stopper). Remember me someway Jasper Conran for her and a musky version of Highter Energy by Dior or Acqua dell'Elba. It make me think to the house by the sea of some grandparents where all the generationts goes for a while during the summer. Yes salt and balm after sun. Calm pleasure. Lasts forever on your clothes.

I read so many great reviews to it that i did not hesitate to put it straight on my wrist and hair. First time i had to take a shower to not feel so sick of a smell. I guess i was not lucky, as so many people find it great. Just to let you know, its probably not a safe blind buy: to me it was very masculine, harsh lavender (i love lavender but this was unbearable), very vintage smell, not well blended, and as it had to be: very long lasting. Try before buy!:)

Opens up with strong green fig leaf and lemon, after it's dried for a moment you can pick up this really pleasant whisper of swimming pool chlorine in the background - really makes you feel like you're relaxing by the pool and triggers lots of pleasant scent memories for me. I'll get whiffs of this at certain times that just make me think of the general smell of a Florida vacation.

With this I have more chlorine than salt, a Nivea style lotion base, sweet flowers and bitter fig leaf. The image is of a poolside in the shade under a fig tree, after a last shower wearing only a white pareo and ... Dove deodorant. With time, a rather overpowering viola emerges that replaces the Dove. Essentially a relax late day in a swimming pool.

A pleasant, refreshing, lemon fig scent. Wears light, close to the skin. Nothing unique here. Only paid 15 bucks for the 50 ml. at Fragrance.net although I still see it for top dollar at Nieman. Nice bottle and packaging. ✨

The openning is a bit let’s say different, but in 3-5min range it turns into Ferrari Radiant Bergamot. It is almost Identical to that one. Nice one but resundant if you have Ferrari Radiant Bergamot though.

On my skin it is a uplifting citrus with lots of lemon that is done just right. It has definitely got a aquatic vibe as well. Just very pleasant and uplifting. The performance on my skin was about average.

This is a beachy blend. mostly salty and very aquatic citrus. I can't detect figs in here, or even anything sweet. Salt, seashells, and worm beach sand.
