Yang 2

I decided to reach for my neglected bottle of Yang 2 (another tongue-in-cheek label). Heaven help me! Anyway, I have worn Yang 2--not near my wang too--at least a half-dozen times. The opening projects well and, for some reason, I do like this scent. This fragrance is a bit odd (and not necessarily in a bad way) in that it smells really nice but I cannot, for the life of me, discern the notes in this fragrance. To me, it smells citrusy, fruity-sweet and woody. Right now, I'm in a bit of olfactory overload but I am going to need some time with this one. It is a nice scent for $20 (can't complaint about the price and it comes with a really cool looking bottle) but I'll know in a couple more wearings whether this one rocks or falls flat. I'm a huge cardamom fan and right now all I'm sensing is a sweet fruitiness along with a creamy sandalwood drydown...but it doesn't smell like cardamom at all. Update: I was pleasantly surprised that this fragrance lasted 10+ hours...although it sat close to my skin after 2-3 hours. The drydown was a pleasant sweet-woody scent - a bit creamy with sandalwood and perhaps cedar. In retrospect, to me Yang 2 had a generic cherry/berry (not cardamom) kind of fruity sweetness on my skin. Moreover, I was disappointed that I didn't detect much tea...which also would have been nice. In the end, it is a pleasant inexpensive fragrance (really cool bottle) but it's a bit too sweet for my tastes and it has a synthetic quality to it. After my initial review I have subsequently put my nose on Paco Rabanne Invictus, Armaf Tag-Him Prestige and Kelsey-Berwin Zeus and these fragrances all hail from the same zipcode, although I do not claim that they smell the same - just a very similar vibe. I've noticed the price of Yang 2 has gone through the roof since I purchased a bottle for $20, so it's highly recommend looking into the alternatives I mentioned since they are all very similar.

My God, this is sweet. Almost unbearably sweet in the beginning where I mostly smell red berries, accompanied by some very strong undescript woody notes. According to other reviewers Yang should have a prominent tea note resembling Bvlgari Pour Homme. I love BPH and was very curious to see how someone could make a sweet variation on this marvel. As it turned out, they couldn't. I see absolutely no connection between the elegant, understated tea symphony BPH and Yang, the woody-sweet monster juice. Furthermore as time goes by, Yang morphs into a drydown that reminds a lot of 1 Million, which I really dislike. A big disappointment - quite a surprise after all the positive reviews here. Luckily it was cheap, so no big harm done. You can't win'em all. Great bottle.
