Cubata

I have never smoked (and I despise smoking per se), and yet I love the smell of tobacco leaves and Cuban cigars in perfumery - go figure... Cubata is a fantastic, gorgeous unisex fragrance. The opening is very aromatic, dominated by tobacco leaves and birch, but then it mellows into something honeyed, boozy and resinous. I can’t identify all separate ingredients, but I’d say that the list of notes provided above is fairly accurate. Silage is moderate, and longevity above average. I’d say that it is fairly priced. The only reason why I haven’t bought Cubata on the spot is because I already own Diptyque Volutes EDP, which is quite similar, only less boozy and more powdery. I might still succumb to the temptation further down the line! EDIT: I just gave in and puchased Cubata. I’m wearing it right now and omg, this stuff is strong! It’s an EDP but performs like an Extrait - very dense and very powerful! Great value for money.

The smell of a cigar factory and Cuban life? You've got it. Upon first sniff, this balanced blend transported me away from my country to a distant land of cigars. Not just that, but I can smell a nation with its own distinct culture from this, a world that is very different from my own Scandinavian. A fragrance that does something this rich, comparable to a cultural trip when you smell it, is very hard to come by. Cubata wakes up a curious little wonderer in me, it makes my imagination work and I feel a similar sensation to being a visitor in a land very different from my own, without buying a single flight ticket. Very few perfumes can do this. Cubata made me smile and go "wohoow, it really takes me there." TLDR : Your ticket to Cuba and its rich cultural life, embodied in a fascinating smell of cigars and all things related.

A very realisitc cigar scent with some honey touched the tobacco is so realistic that you even get the spicy touches of it. Its very well done. And this coming from a guy who has been in tobacco fields

Smells exactly like bug repellent to me.

Spicy rum, & tobacco birch I can barely get the honey sweet note! but i sense it is there somewhere cause such blend with those note didn't get that much harsh. I even can detect mineral water along side the rest of the notes mentioned above. Spices are spices of course but the rum is adding the sour touch. The tobacco ashes are smooth and minced soft, the birch is obviously present & def no oud in here! the amber is presented quite strong and raw as i once remember its true smell. I can define this as a cigar on skin. Beautiful... but the question is... non smokers.. do you guys want to smell like a cigar smoker!

It is never easy to describe a perfume especially when it is an interweaving of essences, in this case, the sweet chords are harmonious: a breath of birch tangled with soft, soft and soft skin (skin not indicated between the notes) where the wood begins, blends with tobacco, amber, resins and tonka bean, all drowned in wonderful Martinique rum...the initial birch, never tending to tar, always remains in the wake of the important sweet opulent and refined .... in the same direction and on the same way, we find Havana Rain always Zolty and Nerotic Laboratory Olfactory ........ exemplary executions
