Clone of Bond #9 Lafayette St. I f you like that you will like that... A year around, day or night - clean, sweet frag with that unique Lafayette scent. I do love that scent and am finding more and more scents that replicate it!

I’m trying to get into scents like this, this was a gift, so I can guarantee I wouldn’t have purchased this myself, but I do enjoy this scent, it’s sweet in a playful way but very classy.

I can see a comparison to Desire Red, but this is softer and doesn't have that synthetic/metallic quality that Red does. It's also got fizzy and "root beer" type aspects, but overall it comes together nicely, quickly. It's a bit powdery but it's not too sweet, and it's not animalic. There's no detectable lavender, and I think this could be unisex for women who want a scent with a hint of tobacco. I could understand the opinion that this is a "masculine" and contemporary version of Tabu! Parfumo has this list of notes, which seems more accurate: Top Notes Ginger, Cardamom, Citric notes. Heart Notes Amber, Tobacco. Base Notes Oakmoss, Cedar. Fragrantica's note list suggests to me that they might have used a "feminine" scent's note list by mistake. UPDATE: I do get a bit of lavender on the second wearing. If you have tried Desire Red, think of this one as smoother and more natural smelling, but also a bit different. And this one goes in more of an outright gourmand direction after a couple hours or so.
