Rose Blossom

The Jafra blurb for this perfume is: "Rose Blossom encapsulates the magic of a hand-selected rarity from the South of France, awakening the senses with hundred-petal Rose Centifolia, creamy silkwoods and earthy pink pepper." Out of the 7 Jafra perfumes that I have tried, this is my very favorite. Why? Because of the way that this wears on my skin and blends with my chemistry. This is a really nice spa perfume. This smells like a non- synthetic version of rose, they have captured the "stop to smell the roses" type smell as if you walked right up to a rose bush and smelled it with its lovely pure essence. The effect of this perfume is leaning in the direction of ethereal, angelic...there is a spiritual type essence about this which is clear, pure, and natural. This is heavenly, truly a little bit of heaven on earth. In a lot of spiritual encounters the smell of rose is supposed to linger, when having a spiritual epiphany -- or experiencing Christ Consciousness. Christ's mother Mary is also supposed to resonate with the essence of rose...people often imagine smelling rose while they feel as they are being visited by Christ's mother Mary. Rose water is often used as a special cleansing ritual. Upon first wear, this is a clean fresh spa-like rose scent perfume. This reminds me of the similar range as Valentino's Donna Rosa Verde... (they do not smell the same because Donna Rosa Verde smells more like lemon drop candies, rather than a strong rose smell...but they are similar type perfumes/fragrances where they both wear in a spa-like/fresh manner). This is a sweet, harmonious rose smell - perfect for the summer. I could also see layering this with other notes for different effects. This is so light and fresh that I would layer this one over a darker base, just to add more complexity to the fragrance. ----------- About 45 minutes into wearing a sample spray of this, this is really nice -- such a fresh, clean, attractive fragrance. This is one of those things that you have to attribute to chemistry. This is setting up very well with my particular chemistry. I like this much better after 45 minutes of wear than when I first sprayed it. ----------- I would also compare this to perfumes such as Avon's Prima (the pink Dreams version). Both of these are so fresh and clean that they would be great bedtime perfumes, something with just a hint of scent. ------------ My discerning friend who has been hanging out with me a lot during the last four months of the Covid perfume quest has been patient through all of the sample trials. To this perfume's credit, this is the ONLY one where she made a comment like -- "that perfume smells good on you"... so that is says a lot! LOL... well, I think I've found a winner, for sure! (The juice of this particular perfume is a rose colored water, so I would be extremely careful spraying this near fabrics that may stain). -------------- If you like this type of soft, etheric, angelic essence in perfumes - I would also try Jafra's Double Nature Glam (which is like a more yellow perfume) and Diamonds Blush (which is a beautiful blush color with a slight hint of musk). All three of these Jafra perfumes resonate in a gorgeous soft essence which is youthful, magnetic, alluring - but in a soft sweet way. These all resonate in soft, approachable way -- (rather than a super heavy perfume range). Jafra also has Gardenia Blossom and Orchid Blossom perfumes. I can't wait to add this to my list of perfumes to try! This definitely has a place in my perfume collection. It is so different from a lot of my heavier 1980's type perfumes

This is slightly peppery red rose, and a fleeting one too that only lasts 1 hour on skin. Reminds me of an extremely watered down Eau Capitale without the patchouli. Unfortunately the juice is red, making it difficult to spray on clothes that aren't dark.

I've been quite ambivalent about this fragrance. I bought it blind in the winter, craving an intense, spicy rose. That is not what Rose Blossom is. When I first tested it, the weather was cold and dry. I could barely smell it. I was disappointed and packed it away until spring, when I tested and was disappointed again. Once the weather turned hot and humid, I tested it one last time, and it bloomed. Rose Blossom is a summer rose fragrance - light, and fresh, with clean woody notes. I don't detect much if any pepper. It does not project much for me at all, and it is only detectable for 3-4 hours -- and that's when I spray it on clothes. (A note of caution about that: I wear mostly dark colors. The juice is colored dark red, so be careful if you wear it with lighter shades). I discovered that I do actually like Rose Blossom for what it is, even if it's not what I wanted it to be. I probably wouldn't purchase it again, but it's a nice one for the price, and I'm happy to use it while it lasts. Update: I am enjoying this a lot in the heat. It is near 100 F / 38 C with high humidity here, and Rose Blossom is a great choice for days like this.
