Jaguar Classic Chromite

From the first spray to about five minutes afterward, it kinda has harsh chemical gourmand opening. Thankfully the harshness fades after a while. It smells like I just stepped foot into a candy store, six to fifteen minutes after the opening of this fragrance. It smells nice...Borderline gourmand scent profile. Yep, it smells like an old candy store I use to go to with friends after school. Buying a bag full of candy, and taking the leftover change to the back of the store and playing Marvel vs Capcom, Tekken, X-men vs Street Fighter, etc. Button mashing because I didn't know how to combo or jungle the opponent yet. I'm actually happy, I'll keep this one. It reminds me of a brown bag full to the brim of blow pops, ring pops, now laters, pixie sticks on a hot day. Waiting my turn to play on the arcade, while drinking quarter juice talking trash to both people playing on the arcade. I forgot all about that store, till I smelled this cheapie from Jaguar. This frag doesn't last long or project well. Must have a travel atomizer or lug the bottle around to respray. You get what you paid for, awesome scent profile. But it's straight shite for Longevity, Projection & Sillage. Outside of that, it would've been another hit from this fragrance house, if it was like Jaguar gold Classic in terms of "Longevity, Projection & Sillage". I used six sprays...both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest, and front of my shirt. Will I buy this again? Maybe. What's the strength of this? EDT. Does this fragrance enter BEAST MODE, good, just okay or weak sauce at best? Just okay. Can you use it as a unisex scent? Yes. Am I willing to trade this fragrance? No. Should You Skip It, Sample It First or Blind Buy It? Sample it first. Ask someone who already has it for a 2-5ML decant. Or try it out when it hits Trust me. Very similar to many sweet fragrances; It smells like candy after the harsh opening...Think Blow pops(mainly grape flavor), ring pop, baby bottle pop...air heads...Just 90's candies in full swing. Smells great! It just didn't push or last. I've had it about a year, so it's macerated. I have 2 other Jaguar frags that are great smelling and performed well.

Def. better than Jaguar Black, smooth not so synthetic mashup like JB...

Classic Chromite is the last perfume I bought from Jaguar several years ago. Now, a newer flanker, Classic Electric Sky, is still overpriced compared to the other Classics. For Chromite, Lalique chose Mr Michel Almairac, a perfumer who has created a hundred and more fragrances for designer brands such as Joop!, Davidoff, Gucci, Lalique, Rochas and so on. By the way, chromite is the most important ore of chromium, a relatively hard, metallic, black oxide ore of chromium and iron, which is the primary commercial source of chromium. It takes its name from its chemical composition, chromium oxide. The mineral is brownish to black with a dark brown streak. And the exact look & feel is present on the bottle’s surface, I can feel it when I touch the glass. Indeed, I don’t perceive any mineral undertones in this essence, so I am still determining where the name comes from and what it has to do with it. First, a splash of unburnt woody incense opens the dance and blows like air through an open window. It has that nice, calming, soothing, refreshing feel of the air caressing your face. Frankincense is the backbone of this perfume, yet I noticed it immediately without hesitation. This is the first time I’ve experienced something like it. I’m familiar with frankincense grains, frankincense sap, and any other form of burnt resin, but Boswellia wood is new to me. I perceive its viscosity; it is resinous but very distant from the clerical incense of daily and Sunday services. It is more mineral incense. Behind this mysterious accord hides a shy mandarin, just a flash, offering a drop of acidity without making a start too citrusy or tart. Instead, I need help distinguishing the sweet and sour notes of the green apple, which do not appear in the top notes, at least not to my nostril. Anyway, I love this modern opening, which smells like no other perfume I know. A moderate breakthrough occurs in the next stage. The woody heart of patchouli and cedar wood gives the composition a solid and masculine side. Refrain from thinking of funky and dirty spots because a cleaner, more refined yet powerful, impactful variety of green leaves loosens up the mix. Gritty, but without the earthiness, we often associate with the patchouli note. And a sense of dryness comes from the cedar shavings, not too woody, alive, annoying. It is woody, yet not too close to pencil shavings. The rich, oriental base reveals notes of tonka bean, praline and ambroxan. You might expect a gourmand bomb, however, the amber is amplified, neither sweet nor salty, and far from the Diorish Sauvage vibe. A subdued chocolate praline tries to add a gourmand touch, but it is, above all, an illusion. Its longevity and projection are moderate and ephemeral, but it is alluring. The perfume lasts on my skin for a few hours, and I lose all traces instantly. Chromite is miserably weak and adjusts to my skin too soon. It feels strong on application but wears off quickly. It is the weakest of the classic flankers I own. But the scent per se is a good one. A mid-season fragrance that I can wear to work, not offensive by nature, to stay at home or for walking outdoors, and any time of day until evening. I'm formulating my opinion on a bottle I have owned since June 2017 (BC 101782C17, PD 2017-03).

This is very much a skin scent, and because its less than 20 bucks, a very safe blind buy. Woody Oriental scent. Very pleasant. Kind of like a step up from the Axe in the brown can. This is a reformulation and far less intense than a few years ago. Its nice enough and very accessible- you can wear it to work and its not showy or offensive but a great alternative to Iris fragrances. Day and casual. It reminds me of Calvin Klein's Dark Obsession. 3/5 overall. Nothing bad about it, its not stellar, but its good enough to pick up and spray when you do not know what you want but you want to smell good without being distracting. I also would wear this on a date, and I often put it on after a bedtime shower. For the price its very nice. I would have rated it more expensive than its price point so value is 5/5. I get about 2 hours wear on my skin but someone I sprayed it on clearly had 5 hours.

I smell citruses and a lot of pepper (not listed) in the beginning. The dry-down is a woody, peppery, citrusy and soapy, but generally a fresh, easy scent. A bit sweet too, like red fruits or kumquat. Overall, it's very pleasant to my nose. I would like to have this fragrance now, after I'd tested it on my skin for a few hours. Its longevity and projection are quite average – the scent lasts on my skin for around three to four hours; during the first hour and a half it projects at an arm's length, then it sits close to the skin. However, ambroxan can be faintly smelled at the skin even after 20+ hours. The scent reminds me of Dior Sauvage which has similar soapy feel (thanks ambroxan!), but the Jaguar has more depth in my opinion and smells much more masculine. Bonus points for interesting bottle – it looks and feels like sandpaper.

Got this last week, wore it for a couple of days and thought of reviewing it now. The opening of the perfume is dominated by green apple with a slight metallic vibe and it stays right there for around 10 to 15 mins and then has this woody notes of the classic black Jaguar accompanying it.The other notes are very feeble. Its not over synthetic.. The drydown is apple woody with a slight Versace Eros feel.. Longevity is pretty good ,as I got more than 6 hrs and lasted on my clothes for more than a day. Good sillage too. Those who like Jaguar classic black, sauvage, Dylan blue can surely blind buy this fragrance as it would not disappoint. Overall its ok fragrance. Can be worn to work, causal meets and any time of the day.

This is an interesting cheapie. It's well blended, of course because it's produced by lalique. Sweet and dark, yet kind of fresh. A little feminine sweetness bacause of the praline, I don't like that. My first tought was that it smells like a luxury handsoap. The smell matches the bottle very well. Speaking if the bottle, it is very nice, the stone like matt finish feels really premium. Overall not bad, a mature sweet chepie, that's high quality. Not really my type of fragrence, but if you like sweet fragrences try it out. It's a little gem from all the borihng sweet fragrences.

Nice everyday unisex scent. Smells clean and humid. I like it better in cold weather bc there's a bit of sweetness in the background. The notes are well mixed so I don't pick up on any particular notes except for the incense, which is an unlit incense. The ambroxan stands out a little bit too much but that might be because I'm not an ambroxan fan

Received a 1ml sample at the store for free. Yup, this is one of those cheap fragrances that evaporate at the speed of light. And yes I tried various samples before, like Bvlgari Black or Ferragamo Uomo, they stayed on my skin for a while. This particular fragrance is a scam, it's a lightweight stuff where you can spray it 10 times and you'll still get no performance. Would you rather spend like 30$ for something like Versace Eros, or spend 15$ for a 100ml of nothingness in Jaguar? The other Jaguar fragrances are better. The classic green one stays for a while and so do many others. This right here is just making people who are trying to save money pay twice.

BEWARE: It's been REFORMULATED. The very provider claims it so. The notes in all three accords have been "inverted" Top: Mandarin > Apple Middle: Patchouli > Cedar Base: Tonka (Coumarin) > Ambroxan It's not an Ambery-Woody fragrance anymore but rather a Sweety-Woody, almost gourmand. The name "Chrome" and a bottle with the color and texture of a whetstone are not fitting for this fragrance anymore, it has more of a Versace Eros vibe to it now. It's very versatile and appealing to women but not very masculine or mature.

Was my fragrance.net bottle watered-down? All I get is maybe a watered down Jaguar Vision with Vision II dumped in. Generic and weak IMHO. Pass.

Jaguar Classic Chromite Cologne has been a disappointing experience for me. I was eager to try this fragrance, but unfortunately, it hardly delivered on any of its promises. The scent is almost non-existent, overwhelmed by a strong smell of alcohol that dominates the experience. It was surprising and disheartening to find that the scent barely lasts more than 12 minutes, quickly fading into oblivion. As someone who appreciates a good fragrance, this has been one of the worst purchases I've made in this category. The lack of longevity and depth makes it feel like a waste of money, and I cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a quality cologne. Save yourself the disappointment and consider exploring other options that provide a more fulfilling aromatic experience.

It is one of those cheap fragrances worth buying. It has a light scent but a lovely one. A chill one to be a background perfume, not to be bold or presenting.

Only if it lasted more than 30 minutes, what a shame This would've been one of the best cheapies around
