Jaguar For Men Privé

This smells pretty much like Franck Olivier's Black Touch which is a clone of Encre noire L'extreme and Terre'd hermes. So if you like the scent profile of Terre'd hermes and Encre Noire L'extreme you could get this or black touch on the cheap. This one has a hint of green in the opening and has a bit less smokines other than that pretty much the same scent.

I haven't compared the notes yet...nor do I think I need to because we all know more often than not, that means nothin'. I really find this is a good runner-up to Thierry Mugler's Pure Shot(I owned and loved it, and it took me a while before I recollected what this reminds me of, so...

A very earthy floray light boozy scent, very masculine! Suitable for men middle aged and up who are well off

I remember that already in 2019 i tried to add Prive to the Fragrantica database but without success, it is strange that it is listed as released in 2021 when i already had seen it being sold in the middle east in late 2018/early 2019, hence i wrote my original review in the original Jaguar Pour Homme (Green bottle) reviews section, which you are welcome to read, and of which i will try to update my impressions as follows. Prive is very real and was released in the beginning of 2019. seems to have been available only in select Middle Eastern markets such as UAE, Egypt, Bahrain and Israel. packaging has identical box and bottled in identical bottle to the green however this comes in Brown box and bottle, with only the "PRIVE" text added under the "for Men". i wrote also that in order to see it you will have to google for it. as seemed as some limited release variant and if won't be discontinued, it will be gone with the wind for good. it was to be found on Amazon.ae for all that preiod of time between 2019-2022 As for the fragrance it is quite unique smokey woody aromatic. a mixture of Lavender, Bergamot, various citric extracts with base of Musk, Benzoin and Birch wood. the outcome is bottled in Eau de Toillete concentration, however it is quite of a powerhouse, beastly projection that can't be ignored but not in the rude sense, the Birch and Benzoin dominate after the dry down and create a smoky effect but in same time strong sense of cleanliness. in a sense it is completely different from the Green for Men, and Longevity is easily reaching the 10 to 12 hours region with decent presence even after so long. Sillage might be Heavy for some and is not lesser than the Green, as i wrote more sophisticated and not as rudely powerful as the market is so used to these days, on the other hand, if it was released only in the Middle Eastern Deserty Climate, it must be a real performer. to conclude, i would recommend to bother and try and catch it before it's gone or re-released as a reformulated version for the main markets since it's production and availability status are unknown. So far these were my words written in the past, my original bottle is still opened and most of it's contents are still there, as i didn't know if it will be ever added and wanted to keep it as a proof specimen for it's existence. more than two years after the fragrance is still as potent even though perhaps the time and my nose caused it to lose that first shocking nuance present right with the opening, it settles down more gently now, and seems to steadily maintain it's strength over time. it is indeed a manly juice, sometimes bit too manly for myself, but in a way that i would not like to represent myself, it is a good and quality mixture, long lasting and quite simple and linear in projection, holds strong to clothes, which perhaps with the addition of sweat may form that extra manliness, personally, i like to smell female fragrances which i love to smell on ladies also on myself. if a fragrance is fantastic it will be such on both sexes. and for Prive and others from this niche it is just not fitting. it has clean, strong, authoritative halo, but not like the Blues and Sauvage flankers, perhaps it would be sensed as a classy afterglow of a hall in one of the Gulf Emirates, while it's lacking the popular Oud even as a hint, i wonder how it really would fit into that masculine scent universe. it is definitely not something one would like to smell on a woman, regardless of sexual preference i would be surprised to hear a woman saying she likes this on her female partner. to conclude, it's an interesting low costing Jaguar/Lalique experiment, performance and mixture wise it could have been marketed either as a premium tier Lalique for men, or even as a niche for much higher prices. and i wondered if it is going to be discontinued or was non officially released just to test the market. if you can get it, get it. even only for the experience, performance is good and very good value for money, it's low availability, in case you find to like it, will also make it quite unique signature. and if you do like this, get more than one bottle as it may disappear or reformulated into something else.

Jaguar has done a great job at supplying us with some of the safest, and not too generic fragrances on the market. Jaguar Prive is no exception. It begins with a great dose of Cypress, followed by a rather dry Pepper. It creates an aroma resembling Leather, even though the note isn’t listed. The opening is, as Chad says in his review on his channel (AGentlemansJourney), a slugger. It really does pack and manly punch. Very mature, thanks to the cypress. This leans incredibly mature, but thankfully the rather soft touches of Warm Spice; Cinnamon, Cardamom and Vanilla, help this fragrance exist confidently in 2022. It doesn’t feel too dated, but it is a throwback. The Cedar and Vetiver in the base keep it quite versatile. The woods are quite bitter, reminding me somewhat of mulch; funny enough, not in a bad way. It smells very natural. I can see this working great for the transitioning colder months, Fall and Spring. Performance is basic, as to be expected from Jaguar. Nothing stellar, performs decently. I appreciate this and most other Jaguar fragrances. It’s the classic man’s brand, and there is definitely a place for fragrances like this. It’s safe, confident, not flashy or arrogant, and very reserved. If this fragrance is anything, it’s old money in a bottle. 7/10

Going to give my ten cents, awhile back now I talked about the Jaguar “For Men” line and how it contains many hidden gems. This too is above its price point, performance is soft, but perhaps more in line with “The One” for that snuggle in close subtle skin scent. Sophisticated and warm, not sweet, but woody and spiced. A mature profile, for cooler weather. If you are, or know someone just starting a fragrance journey, the whole For Men line can be purchased on the REALLY cheap end, you can learn a lot about fragrance types from it and not go in debt through the process. I also highly recommend Oud, and Ultimate Power. Jaguar/Lalique fragrance school 101, awesome contributions for the newbs. A great smell that lasted a good few hours and was noticed by a few colleagues. One colleague thought it was Cool Water and another thought it was a Lalique, I have to say it reminded me of neither! A good value scent.

Another good value perfume from Jaguar. It's a floral, woody patchouli juice. Performance is moderate and the patchouli gives off a decent silage. I like this.

EARTHY BOOZY SWEET SLIGHTLY WOODY-FRESH mature, smells more expensive than a $20 fragrance, serious but not uptight, and not super loud, so even though it's a warm scent it's not too much so that it can't be worn during the day, Fall-Spring; reminds me of Baldessarini Ultimate just a more synthetic version but still good quality for the price. Projection/Sillage': MILD, arms length scent bubble for the 1st 1-2 hours, then mostly an close scent. Performance/Longevity: DECENT, about 5-6 hours (on fabric). * [Been waiting a while for Fragrantica to add Jaguar for Men Prive and they finally did in 3rd quarter of 2022]

This is strong in me and lasts a long time. This is a classic scent. It's def all male too me. I can't imagine any woman wearing this. I like it, but it's almost too much at times. I think the right kind of man could wear this anywhere, but it's too serious of a scent for me.

Woody, floral, balsamic. Not super strong, but, at this price point, you can definitely afford to spray a little more. I think it would best fit men 30+, and could work casually or dressed up.

Projects strongly on me from the first spray. The first minutes are of a strong, oily greenness. Quite a formal, masculine scent initially but I find as it dries down it becomes cloying and turns very quickly into a musty floral scent (mostly Jasmine and Rose) with a background of putrescence that smells like a number of Care Homes I have been to. Remains a strong skin scent for about 48hrs... impossible to scrub off. I don't experience any of the Base Notes at any point.

I'm going need to slow down with my bottle now as I can't find this anywhere at the moment. For the price, this is outstanding, woody/earthy/masculine, old school vibes but not overly so, has enough sweetness to balance out the woods. If you can find this and enjoy manly woody fragrances, it's definitely blind buy worthy. It's not loud so certainly office safe as well.
