Jaguar For Men

Probably my best blind-buy to date, it has become my daytime signature scent as of lately. Almost an all-year scent, as I would only avoid wearing it on really hot summer days. This beauty starts quite bright and crisp, and balances aromatics, florals, mild spice, leather, mossy earthiness, tobacco and woods (maybe with a small bias towards aromatics and moss). During the dry down, it darkens a bit, but remains smooth, and is pleasantly green with moss and tobacco in the base, as the aromatics get dialed down. Even taking the price factor out of the equation, I still prefer it to Paco Rabanne Pour Homme and Polo Green at this point in time, which are legendary in their own right. Got multiple compliments from family, friends and even strangers. Simply lovely, gentlemanly class in a bottle. It leans a bit towards being a daytime scent and is perfect for the office and casual/semi-casual wear. I would go for other options for occasions beyond smart/office/professional casual on the formality scale. Controversial opinion: I find nothing wrong with younger adults rocking soapy old-school barbershop scents such as this. It is well-liked by both men and women, super masculine and nobody is going to call you a grandpa, especially if your style is a bit contemporary or stylishly timeless. As a style-conscious bloke in his early 30s, I would easily imagine myself wearing it my mid 20s. That's just my two cents though, and I wouldn't go as far as recommending it to peeps still in their teens. Projects well during the first couple of hours, and I can still smell it on my skin 6 hours in. I can pick it up on clothes the day after. Good performance In my book. €15 for 100ml of this is a steal and solid proof that you can smell amazing every day for peanuts. Surely one of my staples for at least a few years to come.

This is a Review of Jaguar for Men Prive. The Jaguar fragrance which most of you will never have the chance to Smell or read about since it's not in the Fragrantica database and is not appearing on Jaguar's website. however it is very real and was released in the beginning of 2019. seems to be available only in select Middle Eastern markets such as UAE,Egypt,Bahrain and Israel. it's packed in identical box and bottled in identical bottle to the green however this comes in Brown box and Brown bottle, with only the PRIVE text added under the for Men. to see it you will have to google for it. since it seems as some limited release variant if Jaguar won't discontinue it, it will be gone with the wind for good. it can be found on Amazon.ae. As for the fragrance it is quite unique smokey woody aromatic. mixture of Lavender, Bergamot, various citrus extracts with base of Musk, Benzoin and Birch wood. the outcome is bottled in Eau de Toillete concentration, however it is quite of a powerhouse, beastly projection that can't be ignored but not in the rude sense, the Birch and Benzoin dominate after the dry down and create a smoky effect but in same time strong sense of cleanliness. in a sense it is completely different from the Green for Men, and Longevity is easily reaching the 10 to 12 hours region with decent presence even after so long. Sillage might be Heavy for some and is not lesser than the Green, as i wrote more sophisticated and not as rudely powerful as the market is so used to these days, on the other hand, if it was released only in the Middle East Desert Climate, it must be a real performer. to conclude, i would recommend to bother and try and catch it before it's gone or re-released as a reformulated version for the main markets since it's production and availability status are unknown.

Smells FANTASTIC and Im honestly surprised at how well made Jaguar is and although I paid the INSANELY AFFORDABLE price of around $16 at Ross for my bottle, this GORGEOUS, classic dna is worth around 3 to 4 times what I paid for it, not to mention it having quite solid all around performance! As for the comparisons to Polo? Well, Its green, slightly astringent and woody with a woodsey/Leathery base although the Leather never really becomes a major player, so it doesn't really smell a whole lot like Polo bc Jaguar leans much more into the fresh, slightly more astringent Citruses and then tramsitions into the heavier, darker yet more subdued leather/woody base. Also, as we all know Jaguar for men simply cannot compare to the Masterpiece that Polo (Once Was), although I actually enjoy Jaguar MORE than the current formulation of Polo bc the "Leather Note" Polo is currently using reminds me of "Wet Cardboard" and its just NOT pleasant to my nose nowadays. Also Jaguar last EVEN LONGER than Polo's current formulation does for sure which is a travesty! Im getting between 7 to 8 hours of moderate to intimate projection towards the end and a couple days on clothes whereas the current Polo formulation lasts mmmaybe 5 to 6 hours tops on skin becoming quite faint by hour 4. I would also like to address some of the hate Ive read more than a couple folks here on Fragrantica give to Jaguar stating that is smells "Like Garbage" or that it smells "Like a Cheap Mess" and while I admit those comments kept me from pulling the trigger on ordering Jaguar for men in the past, I am SO GLAD that I finally grabbed a bottle and find those super bad reviews completely unwarranted bc Jaguar really does smells pretty darned awesome in my book! An 8 outta 10 amazing "Classic Green".. Bravo Jaguar, BRAVO!

I have it and I'm 26 and I love it. It's great, word to describe this is wonderful. It's a man going to the office but after work chopping his own wood, a guy who you can ask for help and he'll say sure with a smile and a firm handshake. Opens up citric, old school citrus, which last for the majority of the life of the fragrance along with SMOOTH green notes, noting sharp or off putting here. In the middle you get fresh, green tobbacco along with a touch of old school leather (smells kinda stale in a good way lol, like an leather jacket you've worn and are familiar with; you've had it for years, there might be better ones but this one is yours and you'll never buy another), and finally it drys down with this old school green tobbacco and tonka bean. THIS IS WHAT A MAN SHOULD SMELL LIKE. With this fragrance people trust you more, they think you're a reliable guy who will get the job done. It's uplifting on a cool workday and refreshes you along with your cup of coffee to take the challenges head on. This is the best office work, work , casual, and early morning scent on EARTH. It bagels my mind that this is under 10 usd/eur and people spend hundreds more to smell like a sweet chestnut, which they think women like but women don't really like that. It's like when women say they don't like guys with muscle or money but of course they do, just like they do Jaguar for Men. They say they like a sweet chestnut when you give it to them on a tester strip, but they don't really want it on a MAN. It's like an embrace of a memory which cannot be repeated.

I'm pretty sure one of my great-uncles wore this, which speaks well of his enthusiasm for fragrances considering that this came out in '88 and the old fellow was born in the early '30s. And he had good taste! This is a nice fragrance; very aromatic, complex and with no sweetness to speak of. The projection is formidable. The opening has a vaguely rancid orange-rind scent that's unpleasant, but it fades within the first ten minutes and does not return. After that, I mainly smell thyme, fern, and cassia for the first two hours or so, with hints of leather and oakmoss. It's medicinal in a way that I enjoy. Later on it becomes more floral; however, it's a sharp, herby kind of floral, never moving fully into flowery or powdery territory. There's something of a spicy atmosphere as well, although I can make out no individual spices. Other reviews mention a soapy smell, but I don't get any of that. Some people also describe this as a barbershop fragrance; I can see where they're coming from, but I think this is too dark to qualify as barbershop-style. This was my first large-size blind buy, because I could not obtain a sample and the 100ml bottle was under $15. I don't regret it at all, and would quite happily have purchased it for quite a bit more than that. At least on me, it's a unique scent; it doesn't smell remotely similar to Polo Green (which I also like), or anything like Irish Spring soap for that matter. I haven't tried Tsar, which is the one fragrance to which many people seem to find it most similar.

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 017 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased May 2017 I still love this but unfortunately my bottle's scent has changed slightly. Overspraying causes a cloy effect and I hate that. When I was new to this it was WOW BOOM, and that is gone. Now it's just "wow nice". Jaguar for Men is a ballsy frag, got a little bit of that de la Renta Pour Lui in it if you pay attention. Smells like a stereotypical old money, rich guy who can't be bothered changing frags, in a good way. On to the smell itself. As you probably noticed above the top has 10 notes, the mid and base notes have 11 notes listed each. The most of any frag on this website. It really doesn't come out like that. Perhaps in 1988 it was like that but none of you were born back then. It would've been insanely textured compared to our bottles. All I get is the greens and lavender, nutmeg, carnation and fir, then obviously some oakmoss and the tobacco. Definitely is strong enough on the leather. Things change and they sure did with Jaguar for Men, I hate that. Don't take all that the wrong way, I love this one and always have but I wish I could go back in time and smell it for the first time - that's all. Was a mindblower. Wow! I blind bought this fragrance with few expectations. The price was $14.99 at Ross, and a car branded fragrance seemed like a novelty addition to the collection. I am blown away! This is an 80s powerhouse that seems very well-preserved through reformulation. It reminded me immediately of an edgier version of Tsar by VC&A, at 1/3rd the price! If anything, it has better longevity than Tsar. It's spicy, leathery and soap-like. It works great alongside Paco Rabanne pour homme for daily wear. And though it came out in 1988, one could easily believe it was a fragrance from the 70's (which is awesome). Whether you're a gentleman in his 50's or younger one that scoffs at the sweet, soft offerings of modern fragrances, Jaguar is an excellent choice. Don't let the low price fool you. It performs well above its price point. It'll put the normies off balance, and may even please some of them at the same time. It's tough to find a fragrance that can do that. UPDATE: in response to Kuldeep S, I agree about the Bogart Signature comparison. Bogart is more complex to my nose, and definitely better. However, Jaguar is a more stable fragrance where Bogart just fades within 20 minutes. I bet layering would form the blazing sword and really make something nice that lasts!

It's perfectly OK not to like a scent. But get some manners. You don't need to insult whole sectors of society to say, "I don't like it, because of this, that or the other notes." Equally, you don't need to use whole sectors of society to insult this fragrance. Ditch all the "ew... Old man.... So gross" stuff. You'd never say, "This smells so gay - who'd wanna smell like that?," or "Gross. Smells like Jews. Gave it away." Or at least, I'm going to assume you wouldn't do that. So don't say, "Smells like a very old man," or, "iTs for Old men," or " Only for old men. I just threw it away." Both your mother and your English teacher taught you better than that. Finally, while you might not like it, this perfume very famously smells of soap. There are 66 mentions of soap in the reviews. You might not want to smell like this - that's very cool. Please, explain patiently why you don't like it in a way that isn't made up or clichéd. So... to the idiot who thinks that this famously soapy scent smells like like para-dichlorobenzene (the active ingredient in urinal cakes, which smells neither soapy nor herbal), stop writing in dumb Fragrantica "I don't like it" clichés, and stop making things up. Write better. Be more accurate and better informed.

Just received my two mini bottles of vintage Jaguar. Mine are Made in Switzerland while the original version was Made in France. This stuff is REALLY good. Definitely in the barbershop neighborhood with a soft spicy-woody scent. After dry down, it has a slight powdery note. This scent can be worn year round and fitting for casual or office use. Performance is strong and prices are very reasonable. As for the "it's similar too" comments, I have vintage/original of Polo and Quorum; there isn't any similarity aside from them all being in the same category of fragrances. I just purchased the newer Jaguar in a 3.4 oz/100 ml bottle with silver cap (ordered from GiftExpress for $14 delivered). While it's more linear without a complex dry down, the good news is the scent is 90-95% of the vintage/original. BTW, I contacted Jaguar HQ and this is what they told me: "The For Men fragrance was manufactured in France before 2001 and in Switzerland after 2001." However, I see some older boxes Made in Germany and the latest ones Made in Germany and Made in France, so I'm still researching.

This is an incredible cool weather fragrance. I can't believe I'm barely discovering this beauty. The dry down is slightly soapy with lingering hints of tobacco, leather, spice and green woods. Just incredible. Performance is above average too. It has a lengthy longevity with just the right amount of sillage for your personal space, which is why I now prefer this over other classic greens like Polo (blasphemy, I know) or Quorum. The thing is, those classics can be too harsh and offensive for the delicate society that dwells amongst us these days. Jaguar is well tamed and not dated in the least. It's laughable how Green Irish Tweed can get so much hype with its subpar scent and performance, yet Jaguar remains a hidden gem at a fraction of the cost. Jaguar really is a great value and a must have for the masculine fragrance connoisseur. I already own both vintage and modern versions. They are absolutely similar. In fact, the older seems a little stale. Get the new silver cap version for cheap and enjoy. Grade: A

After about 25 minutes, this smells like England. Although I’ve never been... England is the image that comes to mind when I smell this. This is 100% green! Almost like green grass on a golf course. Also, this is not as harsh as many people say. I don’t find it very dated and can be worn by many ages. But this certainly wouldn’t be mistaken for a female perfume. It is masculine. This is great stuff especially for the price point you cannot beat it. It becomes a bit faint after the first 1-2 hours but the longevity is actually solid. 6-8 hours pretty easily. This is a ultra green grassy, mossy, masculine awesome sauce. No compliments so far.. but whatever. And it evokes the smell of England! Who knows maybe I’m biased cause I have a lot of British DNA and it’s some weird ancestry shit. But this is an easy to wear and easy to purchase!

Whoa! Jaguar Pour Homme is AMAZING! Man, Ive been using the "Current formulations" of Polo Green, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme etc.., but Jaguar Pour Homme BLOWS THEM BOTH OUT THE WATER! as far as performance and the actual scent goes. The current Polo green currently has this off-putting "Leather Note" that reminds me of "Wet dirty Cardboard" and just does NOT last more than 5 hours on skin and not much longer on clothes. Paco Rabanne smells nice but doesn't last either. Jaguar smells fantastic especially once its maturated for a month or so becoming even stronger projecting and lasting a good 8 to 9 hours on skin and has a nice transition from bright, tart Citruses to a more Leathery, smokey dry-down. It also has tons of depth and "Oomph" which Polo nor Rabanne's current formulations have.

My friend gave me a bottle of Jaguar last November. He didn't like it because it was too strong for him. And yes, it's pretty strong. So what I'm doing is to limit the number of sprays to 3. 1 on each shoulder and 1 on stomach area. The sillage is moderate but I voted strong because it leaves a good scent trail that everyone in the room can smell. My students always give their compliments everytime I use it. It also lasts for almost 6 hours. The bottle still contains about 15 sprays and I'm planning to purchase another bottle from a reputable perfume discounter. The only problem that I had with it is the cap. It is made of a low-quality, brittle plastic.

There are not much more to add. It is a gem and safe blind buy. I love to wear it and it makes me feel good, much like a warm hug. There is a somewhat harsh note in the opening but it is gone in 15-20 minutes, then it just gets better and better. Don't be fooled by the fact that you don't smell it so much after a couple of hours, It is still there and you get a whiff of it every now and then. Others will notice it, no doubt about it. I can't recommend this enough. I loved JFM from the first spay and it just gets better and better. It don't think it smells dated and my 25 yo son enjoy it as much as I do. Really the best value for your money.

Still one of the BEST woody-green scent! Not hurted by any reformulations, it's not old and not dated, due it is not too spícey. It has a perfect, gentle harmony of the woods, greens, florals and citruses with just a breathful of spices. It has some forest-y oak vibe. Unique and standalone. Once you smell it, you will always know it. No complaints to its sillage and longevity. All round, all weather scent, except on summer. Never pushing. It gives a very nice, relaxing forest-vibe. Rather airy, than earthy. Steal for its quality. Historical masterpiece of Mr. Preysass!

I believe this needs to be stated in the fragrance community. The bottle color has nothing to do with the juice. This scent smells nothing like Tsar or Polo Green. They only share a similar bottle color. Just like Azzaro Elixer smells nothing like Davidoff Hot Water. . I recently discoverer that this is very similar to Lalique Pour Homme (Lion). Jaguar's big Juicy grapefruit notes hang on longer in the opening but the heart is very simila). Jaguar is a great cheapie. Green, citrus and aromatic. One of my favorite Spring /Summer scents

I used to dislike this perfume for being "too soapy". My taste has changed much over time, and coincidentally I was missing a soapy fragrance in my collection. I revisited this juice and discovered much more depth than before.. I mostly smell basil and leather - a unique combination which can only be described as "clean and dirty at the same time". Very classy, safe, easy to wear, sophisticated, and quite manly. Probably THE best fragrance you can get for 16 dollars, they could have easily charged 60 bucks for this stuff.

Jaguar For Men deserves a much higher rating. It's old school, and that's what I like about it. If you like old school frags like Pour Lui by Oscar De La Renta, you will definitely love this. A little on the harsh and screechy side when first sprayed, but wait for the drydown. It smooths out and mellows into something really amazing. Patience is required with this one. After about 15 or 20 minutes, when the leather and sandalwood appear out of nowhere, that's when the magic happens. Excellent. 4.5 stars.

This is one of my all time favorites. Finished my 2021 dated bottle and opened a 2024 dated. Immediately it smelled off The bright, almost sweet orange and citrus was all but gone; the green herbals in the mid were overpowered by a funky, animalic note, and the spicy/elegant soap at the bottom was absent, instead there was a sickly sweetness like a roach motel. Also a note that I've come to associate with cheap perfume's sandalwood note. Any chance they've reformulated or swapped some of the aromachems?

How did I miss this one all these years? Very Chanel Antaeus to begin with but with a much more sophisticated dry down. I usually have a huge issue with longevity but this one surprisingly stays on me. It is one of those fragrances that springs a new fragrance note just when you think you have it all figured (in a very good way). Soapy, fresh and suited for a slightly older man who has an air of confidence. At its price point it should be an easy blind buy.

It's really charming and mysterious. At the first sniff you might not love it. But after a while, it promotes special smells. Deep, mysterious and also fresh from trees and natural from flowers. It's not warm and sometimes it smells hidden. However it's durable to smell you would get addictive. It's not a fragrance that you could feel all its personality at the beginning. It takes time to show its complexity, mature and mysterious.

Jaguar green 1988 perfume It was my signature scent until year 2000 , it was amazing, unique, strong, elegant and one of the best at that time. Last year I have bought a bottle , and I was disappointed of being reformulated, it's not like before , it's smell synthetic and cheap, and they have replaced the plastic wooden cap with a plastic silver cap . It's a shame to spoil one of the best fragrances ever in the world of perfumery.

Classic scent for a great price. Very manly herbal, soapy (irish spring), accentuated citric opening, woody, spicy. Performance on skin is very weak, a bit better on clothes. Not for kids probably, this is the most mature scent of their mature "For Men" line - even tho for me it's quite playful and even sort of on the sweet side of the Aromatic Fougeres. Jaguar's "Classic" line has more sweet/fruity scents that kids enjoy more.

Had mine since i was a kid wore rarely but holy shit past couple weeks I've been wearing it everytime i finish showering, i mix it with like dehn oud in my hair and spray this perfume all over my body, and holy shit this perfume is so fucking beautiful. This perfume put me on like the barbershop type perfume i guess is what you call it, but for me i call it jungle perfumes, cause they smell tarazan or like the jungles.

If you like the smell of Irish Spring soap you'll love the smell of this. Just opened a box of Irish Spring soap and, to my nose, Jaguar for Men is an intense version of that scent. Starts out with that intense green Irish Spring smell and mellows out to a clean soapy smell. I get 6-8 hours longevity with it. Cheap price, great performance. Can't go wrong. Of the 40 or so fragrances I own this one falls in the top 10.

One of the most manly scent I have ever smelled. I wear this with pride! Scent: 8/10 polite yet manly, not sweet yet floral and fresh at the same time. longevity: 7/10 on my skin 3 hour of good projection and after that a nice aura close to me. Projection:9/10 2-3 hours of good 1-2 meter projektion with 3 sprits on neck and chest. I am almost halfway through the first 100ml bottle, I just ordered a backup bottle

I had seen Jaguar many times and finally got a 3.4oz bottle about a month or so ago. I've since worn it several times and I have to say I like it. I definitely get the Tsar vibe for about 30-45min then I think it gets closer to Halston 1-12. I feel this can be worn Spring/Fall/Winter and would be a great addition to a collection/rotation especially if you like fragrances similar to Tsar or 1-12.

Jaguar Men is a fragrance that never goes out of style. It is strong, masculine and elegant. But to be honest, what I love most about this fragrance are the green notes mixed with a floral touch balanced by woody notes like patchouli, sandalwood and cedar. Believe me, it stays on the skin for more than 8 hours and feels classic and powerful. If you want to feel like a Jaguar, give this a try!

Jaguar for Men Acquired a 100 mil tester recently. Blind buy. Wow. This is a BEAST. Sucker goes to eleven! This is a classic 80s fragrance. Twenty-plus notes in a very leafy, spicy mix. I can see similarities to other classics (like Polo or Quorum). Best for an older guy, or someone who can pull off a classic. Fall or Winter. Good for work or play. For serious players only.

if brut by faberge was made in the 80s, the opening is shapr, strong cassia fusing with the rindy, zesty citrus makes it a little mettalic. but let it dry down and the "brut" i was mentioning comes out, with earthy tobacco (not the smoky kind) with soapy gardenia and sandalwood. lovers of halston z14, brut by faberge and paco rabanne pour homme should blind buy this

I have noticed my bottle (Produced 9/2015) has aged very nicely in the couple years since I bought it. The changes I have noticed are the grapefruit note has really mellowed allowing the other top-notes to shine also the leather, cedar, nutmeg and amber are more noticeable giving it a depth and richness that wasn't there when I first got it.

theres something at the base that has this "ivory soap" bit, the gardenia, oakmoss, tobacco and leather come together to give it this "dry soap" , there's something else there though that im not sure of though. this is very gothic, gary oldman from the 1992 adaptation of dracula comes to mind with this. can be worn casual and in a suit

This perfume is pure masculinity! It suits manly muscular men the most imo. Something Javier Bardem or Tom Hardy would wear! I had a sample of Loewe Esencia which smells very similar to this perfume. The longevity and the quality of the scent for this price is amazing. I gave this perfume as a gift to my partner and he loves it

FragrantJosh below me completely nails this in every dimension. So many reviews on Fragrantica make me wish I had a revolver, but this was spot on. This scent really is everything that Oscar pour Lui was trying to be. Please, subsequent wannabe reviewers, let's just leave it at that.

Sniffing close up at the start is like a dog licking an orange ice lolly in a fern forest. A fizzy saliva. Then a bit Versace ‘homme minus the pizza herbs. Fresh for the mature crowd. Plus unbeatable value doesn’t smell remotely cheap. Nothing like polo or quorum zero tobacco

Many people compare Sung Homme to Irish Spring soap, but Jaguar for Men is much more similar to Irish Spring. It is like an upscale version of that soap. It's an excellent buy for people like me who love green soapy scents. It's one of my favorites. A great value.

A unique, long lasting green and lovely juice. Fir and tobacco dominate for me but there is good dose of oakmoss in there too. It's fresh and performs well, it's also fabulous value. This Jaguar is "old school" but it really is a gorgeous smell.

I have a 2015 bottle that has aged beautifully and I think that is the key to the newer formulation. You just have to let it age a couple of years or buy a used bottle that has already had some time to mature. The difference is night and day.

One of the nicest Jaguars. It's unique. Don't under-estimate this one and look at those reviews. One of the best value fragrances in the world - not kidding!. Lots of character here too. It's long lasting, soapy, green and gorgeous.

The vintage version was a masterpiece🏆 on the same ballpark as Polo Ralph Lauren original! The current version is still amazing for the price! I love this Jag❤️ On the opposite the current version of POLO Green is just a shame!

Jagaur classic is the best among the all jagaur fragrances. It is very masculine, bright sparkling wood spicy fragrance with moderate silage and longevity. Nice for mature men and casual wear. I give it 7.5 out of 10.

I was actually surprised to pick up some Tobacco on the dry down. I think this fragrance has a lot of potential but it is just so short lived that it should only be purchased if it is $15 or less

I like this fragrance it's really deserves credit it's a gorgeous herbal spicy scent a truly green fragrance a mature fragrance which is long lasting..money well spent

I remember 10 years ago i used to like this fragrance alot. Today i bought a bottle but i didn’t like it at all... it is either the bottle has changer or my taste.

Dated old school fragrance Tamed to be wearable today but Try layering it with Hawas Kobra...It will take it to another Dimension 👍🏻
