Patchouli

I adore this fragrance. I disagree with the reviewer below making it sound "boring." It's anything but. Not their cup of tea and that's fine. Clearly minimal in notes but maximal in character. It is my coziest fragrance for sure. It's feminine, unique, sexy, high quality and oh so comfortable. For me, a little goes a long way. The projection, sillage and longevity are quite good. It's lasts me all day and I smell it on me all day. The vanilla outshines the patchouli in general. The patchouli warms up the vanilla and adds earthy tones, bringing down the sweetness. It's certainly a sleeper vanilla that deserves more attention. Especially with the big vanilla trend that doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon. I also want to note the bottle for this fragrance is drop dead gorgeous. The picture here does it no justice!

First of all, gorgeous bottles from this line. I'd like to have them just for the exquisite flacons. Wow, patchouli is in there, and so is the musk, but the patch is really competing with the vanilla on my skin. Good value if you like this scent, as the oil goes a long way and has big staying power. The sillage is fairly impressive, too. I could smell this on my arm the following day. Smells nice, good quality and straightforward, but there is rather more vanilla than I generally prefer. Now I'm wondering what Jalaine's Vanilla must smell like.

I love patch, and this is very nice, although is not what I would consider a straight up patch. It is lovely and the bottle is beautiful. Sillage and longevity are moderate. This contains amber, which is not listed above. Since my skin amps amber up, it is less about patchouli and more about amber and musk. Quality ingredients and a beautiful, light, embracing scent. Yum.

Pretty! Delicate and creamy amber vanilla scent. But overpriced. Feels like an oil you'd get from a gas station. Not in a bad way! Just not something I'd spend $150 for a 6mL bottle for.

The most elegant patchouli! Perfectly balanced, lovely, very sophisticated.

I picture a hippie girl from the sixties, turning into a successful business woman in the eighties.(similar to Alexis Colby from the Dynasty.) Along with her tailored power suit, this is what she would wear at work. Clean and crisp, with just a tiny hint of dirtier days..

Laundry musks and sweetness. Basically the oil version of a Victoria's Secret body spray in a fancy bottle sold to young women looking for something a bit more sophisticated than what they wore in high school while still smelling comfortingly familiar. And there's nothing wrong with that! Just don't buy this expecting something niche or to smell patchouli.

I tested this because I love patchouli and this kept coming up as a suggestion. And while the patchouli here is almost undetectable to my nose (I am used to the heavy, earthy variety of hippie chic patchouli like the ones by Reminiscence), this is such a beautiful fragrance. Soft, vanillic and musky with a depth to it - which is where the patchouli comes into play, most likely, as a grounding factor. I have been wearing it for a few days and I just love it. However, it smells like some perfume oil I've used in the past, and I wish I could remember what the name was. Because at $90 for a 6ml refill, and for a fragrance with low-to-medium sillage and longevity, this is a bit overpriced for me. Are there any perfume oils out there that smell similar to this?

I'm done with my sample. Got several wearings out of it. I thought I would buy a full bottle but I just wish the sillage was better. I think it's beautiful and soft but the sillage is lacking. I am still on the fence whether I want to buy this just for the fact that it is a very beautiful scent.

Yum. Well-behaved upmarket patchouli and vanilla. I'm a 50-something old dear of remarkable decrepitude, but still won a compliment for my perfume from a beautiful young man who shared a lift with me. That's some good juice!
