Vanilla

I've been on a hunt for a vanilla that is as good as tihota but lasts longer for a long time. After sampling this a few times I knew my search was over. It has the same notes as my all time favorite-tihota and the two layer so amazingly! On my skin they smell like a vanilla bean gellato thats rich and creamy- its HEAVENLY! On its own, this is absolutely the most comforting, BUTTERY, warm, creamy and underrated vanilla I have ever come across, but it is still has a mature quality to it. Not mature like old lady- just not juvenile like many vanilla fumes. Not a sugar cookie or frosting, a BUTTER vanilla with almost a tinge of a salty smell that some how makes it even yummier. On me, the rich warm butter vanilla that defines Jalaline is all that i smell, but on my mother it smelled of the same creamy vanilla along with a prominent coconut note (a very nice one, I might add.) Luckily, my mom adores coconut so immediately after trying it, she asked I order her a bottle! I had another friend try it and it had a floral aspect on her mixed with the vanilla- it leads me to believe this smells pretty different on everyone. I am always on the hunt for the best vanillas and I have smelled hundreds, but this is absolutely one of my favorites by its self. I love that this is an oil and I think its perfect alone or layered because it is so linear and simple. This fragrance layers better than any other, as it lends its lasting power to the edp along with the creaminess. Fragrances last longer layered over oils because it gives it something to adhere to. I would like to add that this is the only vanilla I have ever experienced that has had fantastic lasting power on my skin as most slip away in the first hour and this one keeps going strong for many hours. I think it deserves mention that this is by far the most beautiful bottle I have ever seen or owned. Even the box it came in almost looked gift wrapped, with tied ribbons and a silver J on the box. The picture does the bottle NO JUSTICE- but to be fair it would be hard to capture the appearance. It is a clear yet iridescent green and purple/pink on the cap and top- when you move it in the light you will see the colors change. Even my roommate commented that he had never seen a more beautiful bottle and that this was one of the best vanillas I have made him smell. (Haha I make him smell every new fume!) Every time I see the bottle I smile, and I have many fumes but this is my favorite bottle ever and I know my mom will enjoy its beauty too. Plus it is refillable, and compared to tihota, reasonable (fb $150 refill $90). I cant believe there are no reviews for this wonderful vanilla- if you are on the quest for your HG vanilla you should try a sample of this. It is really special. Packaging: 10/10 Fragrance: 10/10 Lasting power: 10/10 To me, this is as near perfection as you can get. Everything I want and nothing I dont. I know I used a lot of the word buttery, but it really is the only way to describe it. Try before you buy, especially if you dont like coconut or florals (It does not have this in the listed ingredients but chemistry highlights different notes on different people.) This is the most ravishingly beautiful vanilla I have ever sampled on my skin. I get hints of clean white fresh musk and even a touch of refreshing green plant material here. This smells like the actually fresh vanilla flower, not an extract used for cooking. It doesn't smell gourmand to me at all. No cooking or baked goods or kitchen smells here. So perfectly clean and fresh. Never smelled a vanilla like this. GORGEOUS. I will always have this. I didn't think there could be an elegant vanilla soliflore. But here it is. Yes actually there is a touch of musk to anchor the plant essence, but that is it. MAGNIFICENT. A clean, fresh, vanilla soliflore. I want to bathe all over in this. One of my favorites forever. Better than naked skin. Better than skin musk scents. Incredible. Like pressing one’s nose into a fully ripened and blooming vanilla flower blossom, and inhaling deeply! Exquisite and magical! It is a pristine paradise tropical garden in the cool morning sun with dew drops sparkling and dripping off of freshly blooming pale vanilla blossoms and their leafy greenery. And oh by the way, the bottle is more beautiful than the picture. Other reviews talk about coconut. I don't smell any on me. No sticky cloying suntan lotion smell here to my nose on my skin. Another one says buttery. I don't smell butter either or any dairy or any cooking products to my nose on my skin. Smoother than butter on me. Smooth as hand woven 100% silk, fresh green vanilla flower blossom and a kiss of clean musk. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Jalaine!

I got a free 0.35mL sample of this for buying full items from LuckyScent. I've wanted to try this for a long time and was so excited when I finally got it! So I dabbed this on about 12 hours last night, and here are the results... Positives: 1. VERY long lasting, unsurprisingly, as this comes in pure parfum format. I can still smell this on my wrist after more than 12 hours. 2. A very safe, soft, powdery scent (for those of you that like that it a perfume) Negatives: 1. Others have commented very positively on this having a predominantly vanilla note, but unfortunately, I don't get that. On my skin, it is a powdery, musky floral with just a hint of vanilla- something that smells a lot like Reminiscence Vanille, or the exact inversion of the formula in Indult Tihota. I'm even not sure if what they have given me is really Jalaine Vanilla even though it's labelled as such. Very disappointing! 2. Sillage is very soft- whether it's supposed to be that way, I don't know, but I have to literally hold my wrist up about 15cm to my nose to smell it. The drydown is a nice jasmine scent, but come on... can this really be called 'Vanilla'? I don't think I will end up buying an actual sample from the company in case I end up with another faux vanilla! Overall verdict: Neither like nor dislike. Update: It's now my signature scent! Strange how body chemistry can interact with the perfume. I wear this very successfully on dates now. Works every time :)

I love vanilla in many ways, and I was ready to fall for this hook line and sinker. Thankfully for my purse, there is something about this that is not sitting quite right with me.... I don't know what. I mean there are only 2 notes in here! I have smelled and own that many vanillas it's not funny and I have to say absolutely none have ever come close to the perfection of the Body Shop's original vanilla. However tihota did come a close-ish second and so was added to my massive collection about a year ago. This is deep and rich like tihota but it is really buttery, in a way that's almost starting to annoy me, and I still don't know why because I love all sweet rich foody scents!! Anyway I'm glad I tried this but I think perhaps Jalaine's silk might agree with me better.

So I blind bought the little refill bottle for $90 AUD and must say I do love this decadent oil. What a full, robust & unadulterated vanilla. Smooth and somehow fresh, it is magical & sumptuous even in its simplicity. A dream come true for lovers of vanilla, this stands out due to the toned down sweetness and the rich & (as described by another reviewer) buttery feel. This one gets better with every wear. Excellent longevity also.

This is very pretty, but not what I’d call a vanilla in the sense of a fragrance like Tihota or Sucre Noir. It’s more of a light floral musk with vanilla nuances. It’s quite oily so I wouldn’t suggest wearing it on clothing. It’s very mild, and not headache inducing like most florals.

I absolutely adore this perfume, it's sweet b.ut not sickly,it's warm and sensual.Because of the oil used the lasting power is very good but also makes the skin totally connecting with its aroma! Love it a lot!

I have to add that in comparison to Sarah Horowitz Perfect Vanilla, this one is excelling by far! I had used them at the same time on different hands and the perfect vanilla is totally overpowered by Jaleine!

My experience with JALAINE VANILLA is a complicated one. Undeniably beautiful ... it is a full bodied vanilla devoid of the common vanilla sweetness yet extravangantly luscious and rich. The initial application is somehow dusty on my skin and it slowly transformed into its creamier state as minutes have passed. I am getting something reminiscent of burnt or toasted coconut which I am not crazy about. But I woke up 8 hours after to a most glorious powdery vanilla scent with hints of sensual musk ... wow! It's quite divine and somehow ethereal. I just wish Jalaine Vanilla got to this stage on my skin at an accelerated pace. Thus I am torn, I adore the dry down but the first few hours leave me confused. I have to say though, very little application is needed. The luxurious oil is potent and highly effectual.

Waited a long time to get my hands on a sample of this. Nothing super special. Reminds me of the old Vanilla lace fragrance from victorias secret and/or Vanille Bourbon by Il Profvmo. Smells fine but doesn't stand out and you could probably find something cheaper.

This is not completely foodie vanilla but very very close. I was very surprise at the price for this. Its nice but nothing to day dream over buying. Very simple one dimensional. No sparks, no wow but nice. Uncomplicated vanilla.

Simple, warm, pretty vanilla. A strong 'like' for me.

This is completely unisex. It's not a gourmand vanilla, your'e not going to want to lick your wrist with this one. It's a very high quality vanilla, real vanilla ~ to my nose it smells like bourbon vanilla ~ and musk. The musk gives it that powdery, diffuse effect. Perfect for layering, but I'll be the first to admit it..........If I buy it, it'll for the bottle. I'll probably never use up the 2 ml oil that I did buy and considering there is only 6 ml in the actual bottle, that should tell you how long it lasts on the skin. Men can easily wear this. Just not sure it's worth $150 for 6 ml in a beautiful cut glass flacon. Kumba has a great vanilla oil, maybe I'll just get that and decant it into something pretty.

A straight forward vanilla extract mixed with a lot of warm musk. For me, the musk sort of subdues the vanilla and pushes it back, I want it to come a little more to the forefront. Overall the entire scent falls a little flat on me and I'm left wanting something more from the fragrance. I blame the musk.

Sampling this on one arm and Dame Mexican black flower vanilla on the other. 2 completely different personalities and takes of vanilla. Jalaine vanilla is elegant, it’s reserved, posh but in a distant kind of way. This is not a sweet vanilla you want to eat, the musk stops the gourmand aspect of it. But it’s simplicity is it’s perfection. I guess it reminds me of a well done white outfit that is elegant, timeless and chic. In deep contrast is Dame’s rich and full vanilla cushioned with spices and warmth. You almost want to eat it but then decide it’s much better smelling than tasting. It invites you in to smell where as jalaine is meant to be smelled at a small distance. Differently alluring but uniquely their own. Would I pay for this? Maybe not. It’s a splurge for some thing so simple. Well done but maybe I’m just not that posh?

What a rip off lol! This smells IDENTICAL to the vanilla bean oil from Kummbamade (which is like sweet toasted vanilla) but way more expensive. A 6ml bottle is $150 while a 1oz from kummbamade is $50...
