Blanc Poudre

Blanc Poudre is the ultimate clean- comfort scent to me. Cotton notes are almost always paired with soapy and aquatic notes, which I don’t especially enjoy. The cotton here is so powdery and fluffy- you can almost feel that squeaky sounds it makes when rubbed together. Rice and vanilla are slightly milky, sweet notes giving a heliotrope sensation- doll like and smooth. I think this is more of a rice powder scent than a savory rice- like a really fine rice powder face cosmetic. I get the sensation of finely milled rice flour rubbed between my fingers- silky and delicate, with a little bit of chalkiness. After an hour or two, there’s a dry vanilla and sandalwood left, but it’s very, very faint. My only complaint is how fast this fades. It becomes hard to smell on myself rather quickly, but the sillage is just right- soft and personal. This takes me back to being freshly bathed, dusted with talcum powder and wrapped in a warm, downy cotton towel. Slipping your clean body beneath newly laundered linens, straight from the dryer. So innocent and safe, this scent brings me a great sense of comfort. I highly recommend if you prefer intimate scents, with a powdery, clean, & fuzzy feel.

Now THIS is how I like my powder puffed! Soft, subtle and approachable with just a pinch (not too much) of vanilla laced sweetness. It's not groundbreaking or daring. It's safe and comforting, making it perfect for these strangest of times. The rice note is really noticeable to me, but the florals (I'm not convinced there are any) are muted. Cotton flower? I can't smell that either, has anyone ever smelled cotton flower? Maybe it smells like fluff :) BP is certainly cotton-like in feel, casual, comfortable, lacking in warmth.... pleasantly unremarkable. Almonds are not listed, but my nose says otherwise, unless Heeley dropped in a cherry note as a final fragrant garnish. Blanc Poudre is a deceptively persistent little fluff of a fragrance for the wearer. Seriously, it last throughout my entire work day. Given my profession, that's no easy feat. There's probably some powdery fragrance out there just like Blanc Poudre, but I sure haven't found it. NOW, I can stop looking. <3

A simple but good fragrance. The best representation of a rice note that I've come across in perfume. I think "poudre" is a little misleading - this is not a particularly powdery, makeup-y, or musky scent. It's mostly a combination of soft white things: cotton, rice, vanilla. I don't get a recognizable sandalwood note. Fresh, not overly sweet. Clean and comforting. Feminine but potentially unisex. PS: Heeley says Blanc Poudre was reformulated to feature a stronger vanilla note circa early 2023. The earlier formulation had more of a plastic note, almost like new pool toys, to my nose. The newer formulation has a softer feeling, more like fresh linens.

This is just dreamy. It manages ti strike a perfect chord between sugar, salt, powder and silk. Everything is so beautifully balanced on a bed of fluffy musks - the vanilla is thrown into the air with them and then countered to not be overly sweet with a crunchy, salty, yet transparent amber undertone. IT feels very white and yet is not stark, but rich. Associations are clean white cotton, steamy rice, vanilla macaron laced with salted caramel, fluffy clouds of meringue, and clear silky amber inlaid into sandalwood. Divine!

A very very nice powder. Very faithful to the notes announced in the pyramid. An enveloping cotton cloud (which adds a lot to this very nice rice aspect, a note that is always making me feel good). Floral but not too much, vanilla but not too much, very small background of sandalwood... Lovely, indeed. A very light rice pudding, delicately spiced (with almost a teurgoule aspect), in a pretty porcelain cup. A balsam fragrance in the core, perfectly balanced, and with a very good hold on my side.

Blanc Poudre is a dream perfume for anyone looking for a scent featuring rice as main note. The rice is both airy and creamy sweetened by a dusting of powdered sugar. The cotton note is very realistic and smells like raw cotton fabric dried by the sun on a clothing line. Sandalwood provides a persistent backbone to the scent from top to bottom. Blanc Poudre is casual, but chic and is an easy reach in any season.

The opening is sharp and I begin to understand why people lean toward rice scents in the first place. At the beginning I get creamy vanilla rice sherbet, and later it settles to coming home after school to mom making sweet rice pudding but burned the bottom of the pan? Homey and lovely, brings back memories.

This is one of my go tos. Smells of cotton-powdery-fresh clean laundry and the sandalwood gives it the depth and longevity that's makes it anything other than basic. Seasonless and also can be worn day or night. One of my best buys at Barneys NY closing sale.

Blanc Poudre by Heeley presents an enigmatic olfactory journey, one that has proven challenging for me to dissect. This fragrance, known for its powdery essence, offers an experience that deviates from the listed notes on Fragrantica, leaving me in a state of fragrant bewilderment. Upon my initial application from a sample received from Lucky Scent, the absence of an atomizer possibly hindered the full appreciation of it’s opening. Despite the allure of the rice note, which was my primary draw to this scent, I found it’s presence elusive. Instead, the opening greets with a somewhat fruity aroma, interlaced with a peculiar scent reminiscent of wine or some aged alcohol, akin to the sticky residue left on the floor post-celebration. As the fragrance unfolds, a medical quality emerges, aligning with descriptions I've seen from others—perhaps evoking the bright pink soap commonly found in public establishments. This characteristic blends seamlessly with the persistent powdery backdrop. Adding to this complexity, I detect floral notes interwoven with the powdery ones, which conjures a nostalgic memory for me: the plastic bags from dollar stores during my childhood, particularly the white bags with "Thank You" written in red alongside a rose. The dry down, however, transforms into something quite different. It remains powdery but introduces a soft blend of sandalwood and musk that is both pretty and calming. While Blanc Poudre is far from unpleasant, its scattered notes and ever-shifting character render it a bit too unpredictable for my taste. It remains a complex composition, balancing between delicate powder and unconventional nuances, but perhaps too eclectic to truly resonate with my fragrance preferences.

Blanc Poudre smells extremely familiar, and not because I've smelled it before. It immediately made me think of my sister, and perhaps resembles a sweet scent she wore as a youngster. Blanc Poudre is a simple, sweet scent, powdery and musky with a generous helping of dry vanilla in the base. It is youthful, even girlish, with sweet florals and vanilla making for a generically feminine accord. The musk adds some edge, even if it is very clean and vanilla-laced. There is a cosiness to BP too. BP opens with rice notes, comforting and grain-like, quickly bolstered by sweet florals. I get some rose and jasmine, and perhaps something akin to iris, but it is mainly a synthetic blend of florals. Vanilla, dry and powdery, permeates this scent. It is powdery from the beginning, cosy and comforting. The sweetness isn't syrupy or cloying - instead it is warm and dry, enveloping its wearer in marshmallow-like softness. The clean white musk follows, developing with the scent. It is warm and blurry, not animalic at all. It ties the vanilla and florals together nicely. Woody notes creep in as it dries down, grounding this scent somewhat. It fades to a sweet, musky, powdery skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A feminine, transeasonal scent in my opinion, BP is a versatile, reasonably discreet scent for everyday use. Despite being simplistic and perhaps overpriced for what it is, BP is comforting and pleasant throughout. An olfactory cloud. 3.5/5.

This is a lovely scent! Soft powder, vanilla cake base :) It has that milkiness some reviewers mention, rice softens the powder aspect, it's soothes it, it's simply beautiful. If thinking of cotton, fluff and clean shirt (not sure if it has a scent), but along the lines with putting all the notes together. Yes it is somewhat similar to Kenzo's Flower, however this is more a soothing, softer powder. Kenzo has more of a brash straightforward powder type and stronger in projection. This scent just hugs you; you can go to bed wearing this. I generally like Heeley's scents, it has that nostalgic European feel, quality done, and no trends here, so I definitely respect that in a perfumer. Wish this scent lasted longer and that smaller size is available. I think eventually I'll get it :)

Though not listed, this is an Iris-violet composition, both notes being a killjoy for me. However, it is feminine, light, powdery sweet violet mingled with a lively powdery Iris. Could be a "rice-like" note to me, but more "lipstick-like." I enjoy it more than I thought I would, but it's fine for a sample. Sits close to skin, average longevity. Fine and a little different for office wear. Not FB for me at all.

I don’t smell paint at all. I smell powder. Quite dusty at first. But it kind of becomes warmer after a while. After the first few minutes I can smell the vanilla. To my nose, this is one of those vanilla incense fragrances ,even though it’s sandalwood I believe. It’s nice and cozy but it doesn’t wow me. It lasts a few days on clothes and performance is overall great.

This perfume is very clean, light, powdery, white, 100% unisex. Innocence and calm are two words come in my mind. More for cold and fall to my opinion due to the woody notes, very comforting scent. If you like powdery and cocooning perfume, you need to try this one. 6/10

As a devoted Heeley fan, I'm very disappointed with Blanc Poudre. I was expecting a long lasting powdery floral after experiencing gorgeous L'amandiere and Agarwoud by Heeley but I can hardly say I even sprayed it.

I love this. I want to smell like this all the time. It's soft and powdery with a slight sweetness. If only it lasted and wasn't so expensive. Ah, what to do?

Strangely I don't get any plastic here, unlike many others claim. I generally strongly dislike powdery scents, I think I have developed negative associations with the smell of make up powder or talcum powder over time, one of my most hated scents is Carner Tardes, a soap and powder bomb. However I don't find Heeley to have made a particularly unpalatable fragrance, even though it is massively powdery. It is quite mellow and fine, more so confectionery rather than something you would smell at an beauty and cosmetics store. It is also very clean and pale smelling, slightly vanillic, slightly savory at times. It gets better as it develops, as the fine powder settles to a clean musky skin scent. It's definitely feminine smelling, I couldn't even imagine wearing it personally, but I can't say I dislike it regardless of my general aversion to the genre.

This opens with an ultra clean smelling cotton, and very starchy dry rice. It kind of smells like almost sterile in a way, so the opening was not super enjoyable. Then you start to get to the heart and it starts to pick up a lot on those florals, it gets a lot sweeter, it’s a lot softer, a lot more powdery. This smells very much like a very softly, fluffy, musky, white cloud of candied sweetness. It's very very sweet once it fully dries down and it’s very musky and powdery. It kind of reminded me of the like chalky candied hearts that you get on Valentine’s Day (conversation hearts) I do wish this was maybe a little bit more fluffy, because in the heart it’s definitely got that fluffiness but once it dries down, that fluffiness turns very dry. I think that this is really just an okay scent.

Wearing the perfume (Blanc Pouder - Edition II) feels like licking vanilla syrup straight from the stone walls of an old church. Dusty and sweet. It's not bad, though, but also not really doing much for me. I bought a sample to test and sometimes I appreciate the comfort I feel wearing the scent; it feels almost reassuring. Sometimes it is cloying and heavy and I want to get rid of the smell. It doesn't project much but lasts surprisingly long. I do not smell paint, flowers, detergent or rice pudding. Just church walls and vanilla - a not particularly holy combination.

I got a sample of the original version of this from Lucky Scent and was enamored. Upon buying a full bottle, I was perplexed. The full bottle seriously lacks ANY sweetness to round out the powder. As such, this smells savory, like the flour used to batter chicken. I see that it has been reformulated to include a bit of "vanilla candy," which should make it very nice. If you purchase or sample, make sure to get the "Edition II." I look forward to trying it myself.

On my skin all I get is a soft and generic musk. Reading other reviews I was expecting more nuanced powdery and rice notes, but no, it's all about musk.

Rice pudding mixed with Cotton Blossom by B&BW. It smells exactly like the notes listed above.

Layering is not something I typically do, but this has only been semi enjoyable for me if I mix it with another fragrance. It just smells like powdery plastic/paper (which I usually love), but there’s nothing sweet or fruity to round it out or give it character, making it smell sterile and bland. There are times when I think this is what a mannequin would pick out if it needed to choose a perfume. It’s uncomfortable in the same way that sitting under beaming fluorescent lights for hour hours on end is uncomfortable lol. I wish it was a little sweeter because I think I would be much happier with it.

I received this sample with my order from the James Heeley website. I must say that powdery fragrances are usually difficult for me and this is very powdery as the name suggests. More like cosmetic powder than baby powder imo. It has that lipsticky iris smell and I expected iris to be one of the main notes, but I see that it isn't in the pyramid. Or perhaps it is included in "floral notes". For some reason this also reminds me a bit of the smell of paracetamol dissolved in water. This is not for me, but powdery iris lovers may like this.

I love Heely perfumes but this is the first one that I haven't liked at all. It's a little sweet but has a kind of funk that takes away from the clean powdery musk that I expected. I was looking for a sandalwoody, powdery musk without violets, but maybe its the cotton flower in the top notes that doesn't work with my chemistry. I enjoy the scent of rice notes but didn't detect much. Had to scrub off as it went a bit too vanilla shampoo which I find uncomfortable to wear, but I'm sure will appeal to someone else.

I am very dissapointed. I like Heeley and own two bottles (Yuzu and Bubblegum Chic). Poudre Blanc is definitely powder, with Almond/lilac nuances, but it feels soo DILLUTED??? Barely any sillage, sits Close to a skin. For this pricetag I expect something if not extraordinary, but at least with good value for Money regarding longevity. I get nothing. I get powder that you just sweap off...

Unfortunately I get nothing but plastic Barbie head followed but a mix of that plus baby powder a few minutes later. I think it may be the cotton flower with the floral notes? I don’t get any rice at all which was the note I was looking forward to the most.

Blanc Poudree is so powdery it settled into my wrinkles. There’s absolutely no sweetness or juiciness in this. It smells clean, chalky and dry. The bitter-sharp opening dries down to a tolerable chalky powder, it stays close to skin and lasts a few hours.

I thought soft and baby powery etc would be great but there is something in this that makes in unpleasant to me - reminiscent of sweaty changing rooms weirdly.

very oily, coumarinic strong powdery, and too much cresolic(phenolic) almond nuance... and cashmeran, I guess. dissapointed.

This smells like paint. Really strong paint. I tried on paper and on skin. On paper its very faint. Can hardly smell it. Lightly lightly floral. But On skin.. smells like really strong turpentine even after 30 mins it still smells like it. Not a good perfume.

Well this is yummy but not in the clean cotton way. It starts out with a sweet musk that is a bit dirty in the Putain de palaces way, but not quite as dirty as that. Then the dirt wears off and it becomes creamy rice pudding. I think this would have been better named dirty rice than that perfume. I have both and love them both, but they aren’t that similar. This is like mixing PDP and dirty rice. I can see why some might be disappointed if they are expecting laundry fresh cos this ain’t it. But it is delicious, cosy and comforting. I find it easy to wear, but not really anything to do with cotton or white powder. It’s more milky and gently gourmand. Unisex, low to medium sillage.

White violet powder - gentle, sweet, a bit aloof and elegant. Not infantile, and not "old lady", it is rather a makeup powder type of scent. Yes, it is similar to Kenzo Flower, but more mellow and more quiet. After the initial blast of a weird plastic-like note, it soon changes to a sweet, dry iris-violet powder - I don't know, why these obvoius notes are not listed -, then the drydown is not too vanilla-heavy, the rice powder balances out its sweetness. This is what I hoped Histoires de Parfums Blanc Violette to be, but sadly that was a disappointment for me. But this one is a winner, a soft violet-vanilla-musk fragrance.

This is the right scent at the right time. During this pandemic, when anxiety is running high, Blanc Poudre hits all the comfort notes. It wears similar to Apres L'Ondee, i.e., its a spray scent that doesn't last long but it lasts long enough to change your mood. I'm not the biggest fan of the 'powdery floral' genre but this fragrance has some heavier floral notes in it and that tips it into the 'love' category for me. 'Floral' is used generically in the description, but does anyone else sense narcissus in this? I do recommend trying this, especially if you are experiencing anxiety and depression right now.

I really enjoyed this while it lasted. It does not have a real long lasting power. I would say 3 to 4 hours max. That is not long enough for the price of this perfume! Too bad because it is quite beautiful. I am quite shocked though that no one has said that this reminds them of Flower By Kenzo. I though it smelled almost exactly the same. This one being a little softer and not quite as loud. If you love this one but it is just out of your price range then try Flower By Kenzo. The original not one of the flankers.

A touch of sweetness enveloped by powdery musk Blanc Poudre by James Heeley opens similar to the scent of mango sticky rice. After about 20 minutes florals (iris) turn this fragrance to the garden variety laundromat/dry cleaner musk. While not blown away, BP offers a comforting, familiar, and easy to pull off vibe. Good longevity, moderate sillage, unisex leans feminine and a bit juvenile. Worth a sniff, but I would sample before committing to a FB.

The cotton flower and rice notes attracted me to this one. This has a really odd cleaning product vibe to it, and I think it’s the rice contrasted with the prettier floral and musk elements. There’s not a huge synergy there. It’s like how cleaning products try to smell good, but there’s something there that can’t be fully muffled. Here at least, everything is rather soft and has a subtle creamy sweetness that ends up at sandalwood.

I was hoping for something like face powder, but that's not this. I get apeppery start, like modern "clean linen" notes, but without soap or citrus. It's a chemcial but pleasant vanilla skin scent. Nice but yes, I agree with other reviewers that it’s way too pricey for what you get. It’s thin, linear and peppery. If this was a Bath and Body works scent, Id' buy it for the $20, though.

I liked the open. It was pleasantly powdery but then dried down to the rice and cotton notes, and now that is all I smell. It doesn't smell bad per se, I just don't want to smell like this. There is a creaminess about it that makes me think of pudding, because of the rice note. It does not smell like rice pudding, but that is what I think of. This one's not my bag.

This is straight up talc powder. I have never smelled something this close to talc powder so a nod to that, but otherwise, I wouldn't want to smell like that. I believe that some people will find it comforting, though. But I would rather go with Angelica Florae from Roos&Roos which is also talc like but has something more going on.

Highly synthetic... a little bit harsh on the nose. I agree with previous user, this smells like paint. Paint mixed with baby wipes....Sadly, I can't discern any of the notes, other than a heavy musk. A sample is enough for me.

Powdery, yes, but not totally round and soft. There is something angular about it. Powder with a big dose of swimming pool plastics. Armbands or big inflatable pink flamingos you can sip drinks in.

Tested Blanc Poudre II today and was disappointed. I expected a light, smooth fragrance but found that the opening had a harsh noted that I found disagreeable and the powder was heavy and flat.

A little bit plástico at first then I smell a clean pretty sweet fragrance nothing special for now. Pretty clean scent. A crispy clean scent not that warm.

Straight up powdery. Its a pretty scent, but it is not so soft and warm i would like it to be. Sweet, quite overwhelming. Smell like makeup and PEZ candy

First impression: clean,fresh and powdery. I can smell vanilla and some violet or maybe iris.

Smells like Relentless energy drink. The marketing makes no sense for this perfume.

For me this is musk + iris. Fine, delicate, but the musk note goes forward stinky
