Hippie Rose

Received a sample a year ago. What a ride it has been! I was quite underwhelmed while simultaneously annoyed by it. The emotional and mental aspect was nonetheless acutely addictive (and not in a "good" way, if one can even label anything 'addictive' as being 'good', but I digress). The crux of the issue, to summarize, was a failure to meet expectations: the reality of what I was smelling, frustratingly, juxtaposed Hippie Rose's lovely, quaint description. Thus it compelled me to almost (almost!) "rage quit" but, oh no, the allure was there, despite finding these early experiences wholly unpleasant; whatever juju that had been worked into its DNA certainly kept me hooked. I believe this is sometimes referred to as a 'toxic relationship' -- you hate each other but then you make up a day later. You hold hands in public but it is purely out of spite. Etcetera. In those early days, Hippie Rose evoked an image of an intoxicated 20-something walking through the halls of a seedy music venue. While not the most pleasant mental image, it did feel a bit nostalgic. To be fair, this image still does come through but it is less in-your-face and more of a distant memory--a lesson learned, in other words. The rose was extremely subtle these first few months and it just only seemed to occasionally escape the musk and incense and crappy bathroom cologne in the immediate dry down. Months had elapsed and, to my absolute amazement, the scent started to evolve. Slowly at first and then all at once, as they say. It was no longer emotionally draining to deal with. As the juice began to mature (perhaps it was my nose, or perhaps we both shared the 'blame'), it grew on me in an almost surreal manner... it was no longer offensive, it no longer seemed overtly dirty and cringe-y. Instead, it felt lush. The greenery from neighborhood trees provide the perfect amount of shade as the days begin growing longer. And while not a note listed, I get orange zest and orange pulp. The patchouli remains discernable throughout but it has mellowed, its sweetness adds to a blossoming array of roses which are increasingly apparent. A slight acidity remains but it is much more subdued and more cozy: everything seems fresh, invigorated, and indeed a bit 'clean' (without being medicinal). The musk transformed into that gorgeous "sun kissed" aspect in its description. Its beauty is in its balance. On one hand, it feels "naughty"; on the other, it is a safe-naughty. It has enamored me for weeks and now I cannot wait to purchase a full size. Intoxicating and (dare I say) extremely sensual.

Bergamot, airy green notes and rose make for a bowl of velvety sweet pink rose petals, Like concentrated rose water -- so pretty! Patchouli in Hippie Rose is fresh, young and green, a little minty and camphorous -- just. The incense smells like clean, musky labdanum. Pink, sweet, and clean. Musky, minty, woody, aromatic rose glinting with a sparkling amber. I keep falling in deeper and deeper as Hippie Rose warms on my skin. So versatile, effortlessly going from hemp bracelets to diamonds without so much as a twitch. Unpretentiously chic and natural. Much 'pinker' and more aromatic than most rose-patch scents. I think I'm in love. Sometimes falling in love happens so unexpectedly, like when a company throws in a random sample with your order. My wardrobe was lacking a rose scent and this is the one I didn't know I was yearning for.

I love Hippie Rose, it's really good. I liked it a lot when I first tried it, but didn't love it, but, I kept wanting to wear it, more and more, until, after about a week, I have fallen totally in love with it! It's a gorgeous, cold crisp rose, beautiful herby/earthy patchouli and oakmoss, soft smooth melting amber, gorgeous dry, musty, smoky vetiver, and a lovely green affair running right through it all. I adore it. It's quite unique for me, and one of my favourites now. I think the rose and patchouli are the best parts, and they're wonderful!! Really enjoyable, and beautiful. And it lasts, for oh, about 16 hours, and has a fabulous sillage of a few feet, which I love, especially that everyone else I come in contact with seems to feel the same, from the number of compliments I get!! I'm so happy!!!

Very natural smelling rose dew rings throughout what I would describe as an elaborate oakmoss accord with a solid green and slightly chocolatey and camphorous patchouli backbone resolving onto a lightly sweet musky base. No powder here, no soap, just a fresh, green, realistic freshly cut rose with the citric and green nuances, but also with a watery quality. It follows Heeley's wonderful modern minimalist style, with a touch of that tasteful retro feel. As someone who is quite reluctant to wear feminine leaning unisex fragrances (as I feel they don't represent me) this is the first time I enjoy a fragrance to the point where I am heavily tempted to ignore public perception and indulge freely in green rose mist.

I'm another fan of HR. A very nice bright rose with a touch of bergamot opening that makes me think there is a touch of palmarose present. The roses eases off a little and then you are very aware of the patch. I do get some incense but it is very low key on my skin. I now get a little vetiver, green notes and oak moss behind the rose. For the rest of its time line this is pretty much what you get. Roses with some greenery and a touch of patch. Its interesting how the incense remains so low key on me. If you love roses like me then this is definitely one to try. Very very nice. A nice fragrance for a sunny spring day but don't apply too much as this hippie is no shy flower. Moderate silage and good longevity.

Avoid Hippie Rose if you dislike patchouli. On the other hand, if you are like me and patchouli is your human catnip, go for it. I can smell the Bulgarian rose and other notes intermittently, but the patchouli is there from beginning to end. Although patchouli can sometimes render a fragrance dark, heavy and somewhat witchy, Hippie Rose is so deftly blended that it's actually sunny and upbeat, perhaps by virtue of the bergamot. As much as I love this fragrance, at about $200 a bottle, you have to be a trust fund type hippie to be able afford it. So much for free love. But that aside, James Heeley seems to have a great deal of talent, and I look forward to exploring the whole line.

I gotta say that I LOVE patchouli in this fragrance. Hippie Rose is a nicely blend of both fresh rose and green patchouli. It's also got something tarty sweet and sour tang as well. It's nicely fresh and surprisingly modern. it is quite uplifting at the beginning til it dries down into something more masculine and very subtle incense. All I have is just a sample vial, but I am sure I will be looking forward to acquire a full bottle in the future. Time to save up $$$

This is such a beautiful true rose scent! Clean concentrated rose water, grounded with fresh green patchouli. The vetiver gives it a clean almost soapy feeling.. The incense is not a smoky incense at all.. more so a small box of incense that has yet to be lit. Completely unisex. Suitable as an everyday casual fragrance but also appropriate for formalwear. Hippie Rose is a mouthwatering fragrance that stays fresh and cool and just might be my new summer scent. Love 💕

I agree with many of the below comments. The rose is dewy and there is a greenness to it that feels almost like the sun coming through after a Spring rain. It is more intimate than I expected, but in a good way. It makes for a great daytime scent that is non-offensive and lovely. The price is higher than I would like, but honestly I will probably still buy another bottle when mine runs out.

I have tested this scent twice and it has grown on me. I am not a huge Rose fan, but the rose and patchouli combination makes this fragrance amazing. Its soft, but last a really long time. I find myself smelling my wrist all the time. I just learned about Heeley last week and I can't believe how wonderful his line is. I recommend everyone try his scents.

EDIT: Rewriting the whole review. This is my favorite rose perfume so far. It is incredibly deep, cozy, sensual, musky, and maybe even *slightly* dirty in a cannabis-patchouli way. At the same time it's airy, architectural, clever, and sharp. Everything is perfectly in its place. Longevity is superb. Great for all seasons and all genders. 5/5

As a premise I will tell that I am not a big fan of rose based perfumes. This one, however, has something that I truly like. It's not very rosy, not soapy at all, not bad rose cheap smelling. As it warms and melts with skin it gains a depth; the rose feeling grows from a little girl into a chic lady. I'll love it, definitely love it.

Great perfume, quite minimalistic, I mostly get a green dry rose surrounded by incense and patchouli. Very easy to wear and versatile. I don't get any similarities with Portrait of a lady, this one is not fruity and is darker. The performance is better than what I expected, if you like rose try it !

I have smelled many rose fragrances but to me Hippie Rose is the best one full stop. Edit A coulpe of months later, the fragrance seems pretty weak in terms of sillage. I still enjoy it immensely but the truth is, as much as I am into unisex fragrances, it leans more feminine.

I feel instantly relaxed wearing this. I love the subtle notes in this - rose, patchouli and a light papery quality. Comfort, ‘slouchiness’, cheerful, time spent with friends, flipflops & jeans, everyday, feeling at home. One of my favourites.

A soft rose and subtle patchouli beautifully blended. Very wearable. I didn't like Hippie Rose when I first smelled it -- maybe it needed more time to cure and mellow.

Hippie Rose is a straightforward but satisfying patchouli-rose with a mossy chypre base. I have a weakness for rose perfumes, and this is a high-quality, aptly-named airy yet rich rose dosed with a cloud of patchouli. The rose is dewy and green initially, becoming jammier as it progresses. It is a fresh, pink rose, complemented to perfection by the patchouli-forward chypre accord. There is a lot of greenness in here. HR opens with a dewy, rosewater-like rose note, freshened by light, tart bergamot up top. There is a green undertone from the beginning, paving the way for the patchouli note that permeates this scent. The patchouli emerges quickly, an earthy cloud that adds a nice underlying dirtiness, enhancing the rose beautifully. There is a lovely mossiness to this scent too. The chypre base is present from the early stages, becoming deeper and richer as this scent develops. The rose-patchouli accord remains king throughout, but woody and musky notes creep in as it begins to dry down. It fades to a musky, earthy skin scent with rose remaining until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate. Feminine-leaning in my opinion, though unisex based on taste, HR is fresh rose scent, best worn in spring/summer. While this is not the rose profile I typically choose (I like dark, rich, spicy roses best), HR is a great example of a rose-patchouli scent. Aptly named, it is bohemian, evocative of 1970s hippies. Relaxed, undone elegance, immensely likeable. 4/5.

The name of Heeley HIPPIE ROSE led me naturally to expect that this would be a patchouli bomb. (I'm probably still reeling from my experience of Lush KARMA.) In fact, this is an exceptionally well-blended and well-behaved patchouli rose. In contrast to Malle PORTRAIT OF A LADY and Juliette has a gun VENGEANCE EXTREME, this creation, HIPPIE ROSE, despite its name, is a patchouli rose perfume which I would be able to wear comfortably in public settings without worrying about drawing unwanted attention to myself. The difference lies in part, I think, in the sweetness level. I do not detect vanilla here, and it is not listed among the notes. I also find that the rose is more important than the patchouli, so although there is a touch of hippie here, it's more like a trust-fund hippie who studied classical piano and was trained by a benevolent nanny or governess to abide by the mannered conventions of good society. This hippie is not wearing dirty jeans. Maybe they are jeans which have been dyed to look dirty, but really they are clean. A very nice perfume, probably misnamed.

Hippie Rose is rather well-named. The immediate olfactory association I get is to be taken back to a long forgotten shop called The Bead Machine, which used to sell incense and candles. The smell of Hippie Rose reminds me of that rose incense smell before you burn it. Hippie Rose is rather powerful and has quite heavy sillage and lasts a very long time so be careful when you apply it! It can give you a headache if you overspray. As the name suggests, the dominant note throughout is the rose. The patchouli is there but it is blended well with the incense and the oakmoss and a touch of vetiver so it remains prominent rather than dominant. The bergamot makes it a little sharp at the start but it gets better as some vague green notes take its place after an hour or so. But it is always the rose that is the star player. Nice, but I'm not sure about paying 125 Euros for 100 ml. I'd be happy with it as a gift but I'm not sure that I would spend that amount of my own money on it.

I always enjoy the oily sheen of good quality from James Heeley fragrances. This one is pleasant enough. There’s a pencil case/lipstick smell that’s gently rosey and woody, but of course the main hippie player is the patchouli. It’s almost like how Portrait of a Lady smells days later upon fabric, after its faded and stopped dazzling. Nothing wrong with this whatsoever. A good work/daytime scent. Edit: There more I wear it, the more I’m liking this. It seems to like my body chemistry, so it’s hard to dislike something that likes you so much. More exploration is certainly needed. Here comes the phrase; “I’m gonna need a full size bottle.”

The first time I tried this, I wasn't in love. I was expecting a Grateful Dead, tie-dye, flowers tied into my hair experience and I got some rose and dirt and patchouli. THEN, I returned a second time with a different set of expectations. I came in with a more modern, urban, Seattle/Portland mind set and it matched perfectly. This is a beautifully crafted cyphre starting out very mossy and green, then it turns into very unique mix of rose, patchouli and a tiny, eensy bit of sweetness. This is no Hippie, well maybe a little. This is a modern lady with a suede fringe handbag.

I have a sample of this and I like it a lot, but if you don't like woody scents, this is not your perfume. I notice cedarwood (not listed between the notes), lots of pencil shaves. I like it, but I know there are many people who dislike the scent of cedar. And here it's very noticeable, while rose is the main star. So it's mainly rose and wood. I miss more frankincense and vetiver. I can feel some minty freshness which makes it very comfortable for summer days. Longevity is good and sillage is great :)

Hippie Rose captures the polished side of the counter-culture it references. Imagine a sociology major whose parents hold highly skilled, white-collar jobs: she seeks an eccentric, bohemian flair, yet her scent betrays a well-bred, well-mannered core. The fragrance opens with a clean patchouli-rose accord, tempered by vetiver and oakmoss, making it more subtle than rebellious—more Cambridge coffeehouse than Haight-Ashbury street corner.

Extremely sheer, light, fresh and easy going rose scent. Perfect for someone that wants a shy rose. Very work appropriate and non offensive. Almost minimal in its straightforwardness despite a fairly lengthy list of notes. Not particularly memorable to my mind either, but in some situations that can be exactly what you want. This would be a good gift as well.

I wasn't sure I liked this on first test BUT it has grown on me very much, so much so that I want a full bottle! This is a subtle, chilled out rose, incense, patchouli scent not overpowering at all but long lasting all the same.The rose doesn't smack you in the face and there is a woodiness to it to my nose very nice indeed :)

I love the rose scent you can smell at first. very elegant. I wish that lasted longer, because after a moment I can only smell patchuli, and way too much for me. still,I like it, but I`m keeping it for some time when I`m really in the mood for it.

More hippie than rose. On me this is soapy, green, smoky, and woody with a background of aquatic rose. Squarely unisex. Definitely get a sample first because it seems like this perfume can be pretty different depending on your skin.

Incense, dirty rose and patchouli. Almost like a church rose. It has that 'brand new smell'. It develops into an elegant grownup scent, or dress to impress when picking this fragrance. Great choice for earthy scent lovers.

Mostly what I get from Hippie Rose is dry, nose-tickling incense. Scratchy, and a little bit earthy. And a hint of a transparent red rose behind it, with a touch of rarified liqueur. Heeley is famous for straightforward fragrances -- nothing original, but a good execution of exactly what it says on the tin. Cardinal is realistic church incense, Sel Marin really smells like sea salt, etc. Hippie Rose is a straight-down-the-middle incense rose. It's not my favorite genre of perfume -- I find it a bit dry and unfriendly -- but it's been a standard since the 1990s. (I believe the original was Bertrand Duchaufour's Paestum Rose.) Hippie Rose is big on (frank)incense, light on patchouli, and very light on rose. If you like your roses epic, get Epic Woman instead. Hippie Rose is extremely dry and gray, and maybe masculine-of-center, with only the barest allusion to a flower in a warm rosy aura around the edges.

The opening is a lime-bright ozonic rose, reminiscent of a window cleaner. Thankfully it almost immediately mellows down into a dewy, earthy rose-patchouli-amber, which is the main storyline of this perfume. Rose-patchouli-amber is a winning combination of darkness and softness. Heeley innovates with the addition of vetiver, which adds a pleasing scratchy sourness to the mix. It's smooth and well-done, just the right amount of earthiness to be edgy, just the right amount of sweetness to be popular. But this combination has been played before with some very popular fragrances. Hippie Rose reminds me of Juliette Has A Gun Lady Vengeance (without the bitterness), of Stella McCartney (without the lemon), and of Dior Midnight Poison (without the sweetness). I like it, although it's nothing so unique that I need a bottle of this, especially at Heeley prices.

Trying this from the discovery set. I love me a good rose perfume, so I was looking forward to trying this one. Reading below reviews, I even would say I had my hopes up that maybe... just maybe this might be interesting. Well it's not. It's more like Boomer Rose, and I guess maybe that's just what a hippie is-- a boomer living in their hey day of their late teens and twenties. It started off alright, but after about an hour all of the interesting-ness was gone. A few hours after that I cannot smell it on my skin anymore. Not my thing. The one redeeming quality is that she's not a Karen, at least.

Perfectly named. This is the smell of a clean feminine girl in a sundress who does yoga and shops at farmers' markets and then rides her bike (with a cute little basket on the front) home. Smells nice for the person it suits (not for me).

A lush red rose; A little spicy, a little sweet, a little fresh, really at an intersection of what you would want or expect from a "natural" rose perfume—Is that where the "Hippie" part comes from?

Strong plasticine opening. After initially settling, bubble gum and root beer float to the top. A sour tea rose (hybrid) is always present, looking down her nose at you like a disapproving and resentful matriarch (new money) who may kill you in your sleep if you don't break things off with the family scion. Interesting that Portrait of a Lady is mentioned because the two share a rooibos / Red Zinger note, although it is far more prominent in Portrait than in Hippie. The incense cranks up after awhile, but I'm not getting particularly green effects. At least not natural smelling ones. The plasticine is starting to smell like sunscreen now - Coppertone and sweat on a hot summer day. My guess is that her ladyship is watching the happy couple frolic in the sun through the windows of a family beach house and is plotting Hippie's demise. A fragmented frag that serves none of the characters. Maybe the full name of this was Hippie Rose, a Girl You Can't Take Home to Mother, but it was cut short by the marketing department. What is not cut short is the longevity. In fact, it improved to a soft incense rose after I took a shower.

I like my rose to be strikingly feminine and real, straightforward. Hippie rose is not that scent. In fact, after smelling HIPPIE ROSE, I took note of the "notes," and told myself "Okay, at least now I know. No patchouli." So, there it is. EDIT: I now know that patchouli isn't my issue! It's also not the incense note. The issue with Hippie Rose is the vetiver, or the type of patchouli. I happen to enjoy Portrait of a Lady and Rose Rage, but this by comparison to both, smells dirty in a non-sexual way.

This to me is a somewhat odd perfume. I'm reminded of the smell when you open a bathroom cabinet full of slightly mangy/foosty bath salts and Vim bath scrub. It must be the combination of a slightly harsh patchouli and clean rose. I'm not a fan of patchouli, though in many classic perfumes it forms a backbone structure without taking over. Yes, this is a sort of hippy rose in as much as the patchouli is quite distinct and it smells like a bathroom cabinet from the 1970's!

This is what reminds me of what I dislike about patchouli. Maybe my nose is really unsophisticated; I can't get past it.

Hippie Rose James Heeley Nose Uncredited Year 2011 Hippie Botanica Welcome you seekers of aromatic spiritual enlightenment to my little 1967 Summer of Love San Francisco Haight Ashbury botanica! Hippie Rose is exactly like the combination of scents found in an indie American botanica that sells alternative medicines, herbal remedies, marijuana, patchouli oil, herbal teas, salvia, sage, aroma therapy items like scented candles, room sprays, incense, perfumes with special properties, magic charms and amulets, and of course beads and hippie signs. This is the fragrance of an old hippie couple who have started up their own business selling hippie paraphernalia. It reminds me of those little shops in such diverse locations as Greenwich Village, SoHo, San Francisco and Portland. The hippie touch is all over it and it's definitely mature and not for the younger crowds who wear the celebrity sweet sugary candied gourmand stuff with berry and cotton candy. It has been compared to fragrances such as Agent Provocateur L'Argent Portrait of A Lady Voleur de Roses Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights Gypsy Water Pompeia and to a degree Opium but this is very much it's own unique scent and far more subtle as a green hippie chypre aromatic fragrance. The opening is a bergamot tea, herbal green tea with citrus. It's an oily opening, with that patchouli opening up beautifully like leaves in a Venus fly trap or the "Mean Green Mother From Outer Space" from Little Shop of Horrors. This is a green cabbage tea rose, a blend of dark rose and patchouli. The rose scent here is not the pronounced feminine powdery rose, but the kind of Gypsy rose you find hidden in a lot of green moss and green notes in perfumes like Opium or Fancy Nights. It's an ethnic Romani rose, dipped in smoky incense. The incense note is fantastic but not a huge pillar of smoke either. Smells like rose incense. It even has a religious air, almost bordering on incense censer in a Roman Catholic cathedral. The herbal touches are superfluous. This perfume has a mélange of green moss, patchouli, sage, vetiver and amber. These are classic chypre ingredients but there is also a musk scent which I find to be quite masculine. There are spices (cinnamon is detectable, perhaps black pepper or mace) cloves all of which come off as earthy spicy and masculine like a man's cologne. In fact this is not a woman's perfume at all. This is unisex and it's clearly designed for both men and women. The thing is, though, that even with all these big notes, it's linear and quite simple. The fragrance has minimal sillage. The scent does not project and instead it acts like a bar of green soap on your skin. For all it's massive greenery, it's subdued and moderate. The herbaceous and aromatic air it has is like a little green tattoo. It has a mysterious, somewhat religious Santeria voodoo type of thing going on, very much in the stile of Piver Pompeia. This can be worn with boho chic fashions, that is to say bohemian fashions with like 1970's style long sleeved hippie blouses, tie-die shirts, flower prints, tight jeans (with bell bottoms or without), or those mini and maxi dresses straight out of the 60's. For men who have long hair and are artists and photographers who don't especially care for high end fashions and wear bohemian style clothing, leather, jeans, threadbare T shirts, tie-dye, psychedelic colors, and floral prints. I am loving this fragrance and wish I had discovered it sooner. Totally matches up with my personality! I am a hippie at heart. A liberal, pot smoker, lesbian, poetess, and in my career a human rights activist lawyer which is no easy job considering the ups, downs, and taxing emotions involved. The relaxed and calm side of me prefers to smell this type of scent to de-stress. This is not really a spring or summer fragrance and to me it smells like it ought to be worn in autumn and winter. The whole thing is warm and aromatic, musky, green, mossy and moody, pensive and though not a clean smell it's not dirty either, just spicy, smoky, herbal. The perfume is perfect as aroma therapy itself. This is going to be as good if not better than marijuana for you to smell and inhale and feel inner peace and just relax. This is a Chinese opium den scent without the sex appeal of Opium from Yves Saint Laurent and more of a shorter lived "trip". I think this is gorgeous.

نقد و بررسی عطرHippie Rose james heeley همیشه فکر میکردم امکان نداره ترکیب رز با نتهای شرقی و سنگین رو تحمل کنم و از عطرایی که با چنین مشخصاتی؛ نت برجسته ی رز رو هم به همراه داشتن همواره دوری میکردم. به همین خاطر هم بود که همیشه سعی میکردم تا رایحه ی رز رو در کارهای فِرش و درخشان دنبال کنم؛ اما... اما کاری که هیپی رز با من کرد؛ مثل سیبی بود که تو سر نیوتون خورد! هیپی رز، مشک و کهربای سینتیک غرق در گلاب تصنعی و مسموم خسته کننده نیست؛ از عطرای سر درد آور گل محمدی که هممون ارادت ویژه ای بهشون داریم هم فرسنگها فاصله داره؛ هیپی رز یه معجون با پرستیژ و ویژست! بوی دارویی-الکلی خشکِ انیمالیک با ابهت، یه آغاز تاریک و خاص برای عطر رقم میزنن که امیدی به ادامه ی کار نداشتم و انتظار داشتم که دیر یا زود رز گلاب مانند، بر این فضای تاریک و سنگین سوار شه و مسیر تکراری و مشمئز کننده ی نیش های راهزن جیب بر متقلب رو ادامه بده؛ اما جیمز هیلی قدر خودش رو خوب میدونه و با یه غافلگیری فضا رو به سمت پچولی دودی و اسپایسی می بره که ته مایه هایی خامه ای-پودری فلورال و رز بو در خودش داره. عطر به زیبایی و بسیار با شکوه از تاریکی چرکین الکلی و غبار آلود وارد فضای دودی-اسپایسی شیکی میشه که تاجی از پچولی و رز بر سر داره و باعث میشه این رز خیلی زیبا و دلربا به مشام برسه. به مرور، تازگی سبز و پرنشاطی وارد میدون میشه و اوج کار رو رقم میزنه که دلمو میلرزونه. پچولی گیاهی-چوبی در فضایی لطیف و بارون خورده که پره از عطر شاخه ها و برگهای تازه؛ با حضور نت برجسته ی رزِ صمغی-دودی. فقط میتونم بگم فوق العادست! با گذشت زمان پچولی و بوی دودی-صمغی به همراه نتهای سبز؛ آروم آروم عطرو ترک میکنن و در لحظاتی که پخش رایحه کاملا افت کرده و به پایان کار نزدیک میشیم؛ عطر بوی شیرین و شادابی از رز با تمی کهربایی به خودش می گیره که به سختی احساس میشه و تا پایان به همین منوال جلو میره. هرگز نمیشه در قالب یه نوشته؛ یه حس رو انتقال داد و در رابطه با حس بویایی وقتی قراره یه اثر رو توصیف کرد؛ نوشتنِ بیشتر نتیجه ای نخواهد داشت و ابهام و سر درگمی رو بیشتر میکنه. داستان نوشتن راجع به رز هیپی هم همینطوره؛ قلم فرسایی بنده نمی تونه حق مطلب رو در مورد این کار ادا کنه و باید با این عطر زیبا زندگی کرد تا پی به ظرائف و بزرگیش برد. بطور خلاصه میشه گفت هیپی رز؛ عطر رز نیست. این عطر، نمایشی از لطافت و غنای رز هست که به فضای مدیسنیک-انیمالیکِ غلیظِ متصل به جبهه ی اسپایسی-خاکی، دودی و صمغی؛ لطافت، طراوت و درخششی شیرین و مطبوع میده که قابل ستایش و زیباست برام. هرچند شروع مهیبی داره اما بغیر از گرمای لعنتی تابستون؛ تمام اوقات سال قابل استفادست. حدود 6 ساعت ماندگاری داره و در لحظاتی که نمایش جادوییش رو داره از پخش خوبی برخورداره ولی وقتی که بعد از حدود 3ساعت به قسمت آشنا و قابل پیش بینی ترکیبات اورینتال رز محور، وارد میشه؛ پخشش ضعیف میشه که این هم یکی از مزایای اونه. کامنت: م.ع (سایت لوکس بایر (با امکان تست سمپل

This is indeed a hippie wearing an Oriental incense. This is a gorgeous patchouli rose perfume. It matches up with songs that get you in the mood to smoke and get high and or follow in the footsteps of the Age of Aquarius Haight Ashbury hippies or Woodstock party goers. This scent matches up with Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit when you've just had some kind of mushroom and logic and proportion have fallen sloppy dead and the White Knight is talking backwards. It also matches up with any great 60's psychedelic rock Sunshine of Your Love by Cream or Iron Butterfly's In A Gadda Da Vida. This is clouds of hypnotic smoke, pillars of incense and steam. This fragrance begins smelling green, it's very green. It's got green moss that goes well with patchouli leaves. The aromatic scent it leaves is also freshened up with bergamot. The patchouli is at the heart of this fragrance, and rose as a sidekick gives it a unisex quality but it's mostly a strong masculine scent similar to the Orientals of modern perfumery like Fancy Nights Jessica Simpson or Voleur de Roses (although this is much better and more hardcore patchouli). This is for any true patchouli lover. It's not patchouli oil but it does have a resinous viscous quality courtesy of hot amber. This is just such a well composed fragrance. Every note fits, everything smells good and takes your breath away. It's the inside of a hippie bus as it goes off on it's road trip across America. Incense and patchouli for days, weeks, months, as the bus takes the San Francisco hippie group avoiding the draft into the Vietnam War and headed to it's destination: Woodstock. Love this fragrance. Highly recommended for fans of Orientals, incense and rose-patchouli.

First of all I would like to mention that I personally don't see any similarities between HIPPIE ROSE and PORTRAIT OF A LADY at all. Well, we are all very different, and so are our noses and perception. For me these two perfumes are two opposite instances on the spectrum of rose perfumes. HIPPIE ROSE is an airy, transparent, casual, masculine mossy green rose, whereas PORTRAIT is a heavy, syrupy, dense evening one. I totally see HIPPIE ROSE on a man, or on a right woman. I would say it is unisex, but a bit closer to the masculine side. I don't picture a hippie smelling like this, to my nose it is rather a contemporary urban person who is longing for everything natural (whole foods, fresh flowers and plants, romantic relationships, freedom). Actually all Heeley's perfumes I have tried so far give me that vibe, and I found it very appealing, as it reflects the reality I am living in. Regarding the notes, I get a lot of white moss and vetiver, as well as patchouli and rose. No incense at all! I enjoy wearing it in summer, as it is neither heavy nor sweet. The longevity is not bad, though: it lasts for 5-6 hours or a bit more, becoming muskier towards the end.

Heeley has been sitting on my 'favorite modern perfume house' list for some time now, and this scent does nothing but move it up a notch. Wow. OK, but let me get a bit specific: I can't see how this fragrance could be made more perfect. Tart Tea Rose? Check. Crisp, refreshing green notes? Check. I ordered this because I saw patch/incense/amber and oakmoss. Really now, someone asked me for my input??? But all of this plays in the back ground. the patchouli is not loud like it is in Citizen Queen, and the incense not as strong as it is in Caron's Pour Une Femme. Here the show is a very mature, very classy tea rose, or something to that effect. The result is an uplifting, carefree experience. Ooh, I think I must buy...

In the 60s and 70s, the generation of "flower children", or hippies, traveled the world, in Europe and Asia. What pushed them to make this journey was the desire to abandon social conventions and have fun. Hippie Rose wants to represent a journey around the world, free of conventions, with the use of a wonderful combination of rose and Patchouli. A fresh flower, with green features, is surrounded by a strong but not too earthy Patchouli, which blends perfectly into this olfactory symphony. This is a great comfortable rose. It's relaxed and natural, rather than the usual pretty or seductive a rose scent can be. The patchouli give it a enough depth and interest to make it notable. This is one of my favorite roses. It comes across as so familiar and comfortable that you may think it's not remarkable, but I don't know of anything that really smells like this. Highly recommend for a no brainer grab and go, that's not boring. Better for transitional seasons like Spring and Fall. It's on my to-buy list.

To me this is an aquatic rose, a lot like Rose Prana by Anima Vinci. I wish I had kept it or be able to compare, but very distinctly reminds me of it. This is very delicate, not much patch or at least not the dirty dark patch I am used to. Aquatic and green, with the vegetal rose that is the typical distinct rose used in most perfumes. As someone mentioned, it's like a tea rose. I'm not getting woods or incense, and I am a huge lover of these two so probably very subtle here.

This is basically the best rose scent mixed with the best patchouli scent. The rose is clean, a bit dewy. The patchouli is also clean and still earthy, it develops nicely and as you would expect patchouli to. Super nice if that's what you're into. Reminds me a lot of Diptyque's Eau Rose EDP. I'd for sure picture some hippie at a Grateful Dead concert wearing this. Picture being outside, barefoot, in love with nature, in flowy clothes and good vibes.

transparent & sweet with a distant dirty heart - has such an odd windex astringent note that I cant unsmell. Drys to a nice pachouli rose almost wet and breezy with the sweetness and window cleaner note finally taking a back seat... i really enjoy how this fragrance dries down and settles but cant get past the first 3 hours of its pink candy lipgloss... its not for me but I appreciate it.
