Sparkling, Zesty fresh ginger. Super refreshing - male or female - great for summer... The most successful Ginger scent so far beating its closet competitor from Byredo - Chembur - which I also love - easily surpassing it for longevity and Sillage which for a scent of this type is very very hard to do! Not that this is a walloping stinker of a perfume but golly it’s sublime and gives me decent wafts hours later... The fresh opening buoyed by some airy citrus dried down to a slightly earthy feel dirtied by the cardamom. A very pleasant FB blind buy. If you want a great natural unadulterated ginger that smells like a perfume rather than a ‘natural oil’ then this is a must. Surely the gourmand of the year?

This fragrance captured my heart from the first spritz. It feels like a visit to a luxurious spa, simultaneously balancing and energizing. I can see why some might find it too simple, but I appreciate its minimalism—ginger, citrus, and a subtle base. If you love ginger, this is a gem; it shines in all its glory without being overshadowed by other notes. Though it has a light and citrusy profile, be careful with the dosage—too many sprays can make the ginger overly sweet and cloying, especially in the summer. I enjoy pairing it with Wood Sage & Sea Salt (Jo Malone) or Un Jardin en Méditerranée (Hermes).

James Heeley is a magician. I don't like ginger, at all. Yet this is by far my favorite from not only the discovery set, but from all the perfumes I've tried in the last 10 years. Zesty, crisp, refreshing, a classy modern scent. His perfumes are never boring, but with this one he really hit it out of the park. I have a secret weapon whenever I feel overwhelmed: I listen to When the levee breaks from Led Zeppelin. Fires me up, and I feel I can conquer the world. Now I have a perfume matching.

I got a sample of this and I'm in love! It's a very nice, fresh, juicy grated ginger with a hint of citrus and spice. I find it very cheerful and uplifting. I wouldn't say it lasts a long time on me but I love the smell so much I wouldn't mind topping it up through the day. I think I will definitely pick up a bottle. This would be great for spring and summer, but I could see wearing it year round and I find it very unisex as well.

I have a 15ml sample from the Heeley discovery set. This is review is after several full day wears. zippy, tart, tangy and ultra refreshing lemon/lime/orange invigorating, fresh, raw, juicy yellow ginger flesh slightly spicy silky white bar soap I spray 5 times (chest, back of neck, elbow, elbow, shirt) and it lasts and lasts. 8+ hours. Quiet confidence personified. You cannot ask for more from a summer fragrance.

Is a lovely fragrance , fresh and crisp. If you like ginger is a very good options. Unfortunately the longevity is not great but being so fresh is easy to be applied more during the day without being too strong. Is a good scene to use as well to overlaying , I like it with wood sage of Jo Malone .

Smells like a bar of ginger soap--I mean that in a good way. Zingy and clean, but with some warmth and creaminess. Easy to wear with a casual vibe. Unisex for sure. Love it.

The most wonderfully zingy ginger scent I have experienced. The citrus at the top adds just the right complement, kudos to the perfumer. Leans a tad masculine.

This one really clicked with me. On paper it’s simple, citrus and ginger, but the execution is what makes it. The opening is bright and sharp, very natural-smelling citrus (more peel than juice), with lime and orange coming through clearly. It feels clean without going into that generic “fresh” territory. The ginger is the key here. It’s not sweet or cozy, it’s crisp, slightly peppery, and gives the whole thing structure. It keeps the fragrance from being just another citrus cologne. There’s also a subtle lift from cardamom and pink pepper, but nothing feels overdone. It stays airy and controlled the whole way through. Performance is average at best, around 3/4 hours on me, with moderate projection. Not a dealbreaker for this type of scent, but worth knowing. What I really like is the overall feel. It’s fresh, but not boring. Clean, but not bland. Leans masculine imo. It actually reminds me quite a lot of the old Armani Eau Pour Homme. Not because they smell the same, they don’t, but because they share that same kind of understated, citrus-driven elegance. No sweetness, no gimmicks, just a very put-together, effortless freshness. The Heeley feels like a more modern, stripped-back version of that idea, with ginger instead of the aromatic/mossy backbone. Overall, this is exactly what I want from a warm-weather fragrance: simple, well-made, and easy to wear, but with just enough personality to keep it interesting.

Tenacious fresh woody limey ginger fougere If there is something I admire about Heeley is his authentic approach and level of commitment in providing fragrances that are true to their description. Zeste de Gingembre is exactly that, ginger zest, an experience very similar to that of roughly cut up ginger bits submersed and marinated in a limey fizzy drink, not a particularly sugary drink, perhaps a semi sweet Perrier or something like that. Undoubtedly a fougere built around greenish blue dihydromyrcenol, with cold woody cardamom, probably some variant of cedar in the core, it is as straightforward and brutalist as the ridiculously fresh Menthe Fraiche in a bright dry yet substantial way. Very unique and original overall.

Got a sample of this with another purchase. Like most Heeley it's a really nice natural feel and the opening is really stunning. Nicest take on ginger I've smelled so far, its got that warmth you get from ginger but without a too peppery sharp edge. Like ginger juice you could say rather than ginger powder. This doesn't last long however and it drops down to a clean musk with a bit of orange and cardamom/spice feel. It's very light, probably a great office fragrance but I am left craving that opening. I can't justify buying a full bottle, but maybe I'd get a decant for a pick-me-up fragrance to spray when you are feeling tired/stressed.

This fragrance is actually much sweeter and softer than I originally expected from reading the notes. At first smell there is a hint of the abrasive cardamom licoriciness but it disappears upon application and I’m just left with a little sweet soapiness. Very quiet girl next door that works at the tea house. In fact it is so innocent and sans musk that it’s like Laura Palmer during the day

This is a really nice fresh, ginger scent! Definitely unisex. It smells more like ginger tea for example, than actual ginger which is more sharp, but that's not a bad thing. It doesn't last too long on me, maybe 3 hours tops? Even smelling my clothes at the end of the day I could barely smell it, however if you don't mind topping up every few hours, this really is a lovely ginger scent.

It's very true to Heeley's DNA, very natural, straightforward and not overly complicated and never generic. The opening is radiant with a positive vibe but it's a shame that the scent did not stay for long on my skin though.

Solid freshie. Nothing groundbreaking, but the citrus + ginger combination is lovely. Heeley creates excellent summer fragrances, and this is one of his best for me.

Very dry and masculine. Dry down is a little lynx-ish but much fancier.

Smells very masculine. Opens with a blast of sweet minty ginger that hits you in the face with freshness. It smells wonderful. This would smell amazing on my hubby. Not my cuppa. Okay for me but excellent for men. -

Under the nose of a blind-folded subject, he'd assume he's smelling actual orange and lime peels rather than a fragrance designed for wear.

It instantly reminded me of ginger ale. It's crisp and refreshing but there's also just a tad bit of men's aftershave going on

aahh naaaaaaah. very little ginger (if any), rather a mix of orange and cardamom. Very butch too, not unisex imho.

Weard orange natural smelling perfume with almost no performance, I believe that most of the comments are from people with some associating with this house, the smell has nothing to do with the real smell of ginger, it will dissipate in 1 maybe 2 hours, unless my bottle that I bought from Lucky Scent was staring to get very watery and rancid 😔

I love this one. It does smell like ginger lemonade fizz, and gets soapier over time. A modern twist on the fougère, more unisex than other representants of the genre. As easy to wear as a clean white shirt, but a bit more original in my opinion. I do love scents that evoke freshness and cleanliness and to me this is definitely one of them.

Linear citrussy-ginger, but very realistic and pleasant. Makes you feel professional, fresh and revitalised. Agree with comments, it doesn't last long on me and stays very close to the body. I don't think it would be a compliment getter. I think it's a true unisex, I would find it original and pleasant on a guy.

I just got a sample today, this smells like a slightly spicier Frapin L'Humaniste. It's a ginger gin + tonic. This is really nice, can see one wearing this everyday.

straight up ginger ale with a very warming effect. More a nice room spray than fragrance to wear for me
