Frankincense, You Are as a Light Under the Snow

Smells like snow! I’ve seen many fragrances include the “Snow” note but it doesn’t translate to the composition of the scent, this one certainly does to my nose. Smells like a blanket of snow over soil; the snow that covers the ground in late Winter or early Spring. It doesn’t come across cold however, rather earthy. If you’re not a fan of the Calone note, which I’m not, this may not be your holy grail...it comes through pretty quickly in its dry down but it’s there for a reason. Slightly fishy, yes, but pure at the same time; It adds this natural watery essence to it, almost as if this whole fragrance is simply a depiction of a puddle of melted snow next to an icy snow bank in March. Weathered grass, muddy patches, and the beginning of a new season. A very special and thoughtful fragrance, John! Thank you.

Earth's Whisper A new limited edition (105 bottles) fragrance from January Scent Project. To me, the overall composition is very earthy with a hint of smoke. Launched at a perfect time – spring, when everything's blooming and the earth's at its brightest – this fragrance feels like it belongs. It starts with a nice citrusy kick, but lavender quickly takes over, mingling with a beautiful smoky frankincense that's one of the stars of the show. It's not overpowering, just a steady backbone that reminds you why perfumery is so magical. As it dries down, cedar takes center stage with patchouli, creating an intense, rich, and woody aroma that's super comforting. Sillage is good for the first couple of hours, but the performance is amazing – it lasts for ages on skin. Another hit from John, as expected 😊.
