Ajar

One of the most beautiful oriental + floral. Wear it as a guy cologne (usually wear a suit) but I'd say it leans more feminine.

Just an airy fresh spring sort of thing, much simpler and more sunlight-outdoorsy than most Jardins d'Ecrivains things I've tried so far. Very refreshing and organic seeming. But on me, nothing to really fall in love with - the pear is a bit too present for my personal taste and longevity very, very poor - gone in 3h or so. I definitely got neither incense nor (detectable) sandalwood.

Some sandalwood or incense might have saved this scent. Might. On my skin neither fresh nor airy spring. It most of all reminds me of those cheap round soaps in coloured folded papers that granny used to put in her linen or in the drawer to make it smell clean. I guess plenty of people have the fondest memories of that scent. To me it was always nauseating and a bit stale. Nothing I'd ever consider putting on volunteering. A bit harsh of me perhaps, but this is a scrubber for me. Besides several scrubbings won't help so longevity is impressive. Opens up with old school (old soap) jasmine and a pinch of lime in the backseat. Lime skips the field within half an hour with jasmine still in charge as orchid and oakmoss together try to make themselves heard. Pointless. Old, angry jasmine won't let go until the fat lady sings...

Oh my. A beautiful, soft, feminine canned pears and custard, floral dusting powder arrangement. This crept up on me because I was totally anosmic when I first sprayed, I picked it up an hour later as I was absently leaning on my elbows reading the reviews on here..... It is wonderfully spring-like, full of the bosomy scents of my youth, rather than the screechy substitutes which abound here in 2018 (which often dry down to the smell of bile). None of that here. The incense note is here, but very fine, very smooth, almost honey sweet, no smoke, no saltpetre, just lovely. Not getting any sandalwood, but I suspect it's underpinning everything else to stop it falling apart. Oakmoss, orchid and pear makes for an enticing, surprising garden fairy I could happily live with if it took up residence at the bottom of my olfactory garden. Stunning. Might end up shouting myself a FB of this.

This is incredibly feminine and very sophisticatedly-clean scent. It reminds me a lot of Lancome Hypnose, maybe less vanilla though. I think this would be perfect for a lady 30+, who id confident and sexy at the same time, while being a loving mother and daughter at the same time. Perfect for spring/autumn season. I do not feel any incense at all (which is good for me, since I am not a real fan).
