Jasper Conran Him

A couple of years ago when the business that employed me was sold I was very angry at them, looking at job ads all the time. I found Conran Man during a retail therapy session at the time. It suited my mood and I promptly stocked up - it was on sale. Looking back, I think it was this scent that helped me to focus on what is the best for me and the people I care about. I have decided to give the new lot a go and this choice turned out to be the correct one. Jasper Conran Him is for a bad day or a hard day in the office. It is more pleasant, more effective and more practical than sniffing a grapefruit all day, giving me hours of focus. The only downside is that once it dries down the focus is gone in the similar fashion as when coffee wears off. Definitely not recommended for situations when you want to relax. After years of intermittent use I have learnt to like it. 10/10 for problem solving assistance

This was the first scent that got me interested in fragrance. I read somewhere that Enya's favorite designer was Jasper Conran. All I could afford was his cologne. The rest is history. It's very good, but I think Thierry Mugler's Mugler Cologne and Creed's Original Vetiver are still higher quality, HOWEVER. This is half the cost of Mugler and a 7th the cost of Creed Vetiver. It is slightly less complex than both, more synthetic (but still amazing), and maybe not as long lasting. it also has this plastic note that is not found in either CV or TM. Blind buy worthy for the price. It smells nearly identical to Thierry Mugler Cologne with slight nuances. Pairs very well with cigarette smoke. I love it. And will probably buy it again for either myself or XMAS gifts for guys.

This is one of my favourite frags. It smells so clean & natural,just like you stepped out of a shower. The body products are nice too,if you can get them.

Wow ! This is gorgeous !!! A very sexy vetiver. Stunning.

Wow! This is a hidden gem for all you vetiver lovers it really is and the key to this fragrance is balance. The opening is a stunning, bright green, blast of chlorophyll and grapefruit, very reminiscent of Annick Goutal's Ninfeo mio. Lush green notes that slowly give way to clean earthy vetiver that has a slight smoke to it. The citrus stays very prominent too and is helped along by the tiniest hint of white floral, neroli and petitgrain. This is a tried and tested formula sure but when executed perfectly cannot be argued with. I can see the comparison to Mugler Cologne, except with far less neroli and more of an emphasis on the vetiver. The drydown is long and natural and although this scent retreats quite quickly, it has massive lasting power and I was very impressed with the performance, despite a very sparring application. Clean, well executed Jasper Conran gets a thumbs up for me despite not really being my cup of tea, it serves a purpose and does it very well.

An interesting one. Conran Man opens with a very sharp blast of citrus and smoky hay. Eventually this gives way to a a softer and slightly soapy note that will stay with you for the rest of the day. This is an ultra masculine and not very sophisticated scent, but under the right circumstances I really like it (although my wife doesn’t). Conran Man comes into its own in cold weather – the colder the better. It reminds me of a walk in a snowy pine forest where you suddenly come by a burnt out camp fire. This scenery runs non stop on my inner movie whenever I wear this fragrance, preferably under a thick woollen sweater. And, as other reviewers have pointed out, it will compliment a smoker. If you can find it at a discount price it is well worth a try for its winter qualities. But I doubt that it will sustain interest long enough for me to empty a bottle. After two seasons it has earned a firm place at the back of my shelf and it's rapidly heading for the swap box.

Christian Provenzano is perfumer known for wonderful complex and heavy fragrances particularly with the house of Boadicea The Victorious. Thus, this fragrance comes as a surprise. Jasper Conran for Man opening resembles that of Mugler Cologne but the differences become clear as it develops. It is greener, less soapy and the base is woodsier, IMO. I purchased it as rumours were going about that MC was being discontinued and its prices shot upwards. No regrets about the purchase though because it is cheap as chips (price wise) and not a bad substitute for MC although a bit redundant, overall. 6/10!

Jasper Conran him is the poor man's Mugler Cologne, smells more or less the same but is slightly inferior. Projects well for the first hour or so and lasts about 4-5 hours on skin with 6 sprays. It's one of those frags you can safely over spray without it getting cloying and with summer around the corner, this is definitely going into the daily wear mix. I think this has been discontinued but I found a tester online for about 15$ and it's pretty decent value for what I paid. Nice.7/10

The first note that hits you is a sort of cigarette ashtray smell, the mention of the "burnt out camp fire" above is fitting. Then it settles down to a soft citrus/soapy smell. Quite pleasant. A simple unsophisticated cologne. This has a similarity to Mugler Cologne but this is not quite as good. The drydown, however, is a pleasant soapy/white musk smell, worth trying.

After a first wear today the initial opening is quite sharp, but it mellows into a really nice rounded citrusy scent with this intoxicating smoky note... Its one of the quickest changing frags I have used, works rather well as an alternative to other straight citrus frags like your CKone. CK Escape and Aqua di Gio. For the price its longevity is good.

I was given this many years ago, and only just discovered it (part of a Wedgwood gift set bizarrely,) very fresh and clean, with citrus and woody notes, clean and uplifting. My bottle is quite old, so I'm not sure how the current range performs. It does remind me of Encore Noire, but on me, it lasted longer.

hi..this is my first post nd i'm very excited to share my experiance regarding this perfume.As per me this is a nice day time perfume having a good dose of vetiver and have some spiciness.overall a good perfume works well in high heat.

Yeah i agree its ok as a day to day scent - compliments the smell of smoke (if ur a smoker like myself ) clean and crisp -but ultimately forgettable.

Definitely a "poor mans" Mugler Cologne. However, this is a really nice male perfume!

Got this as a gift a few years back, very cheap but it has very poor performance. Doesn't last for particularly long and doesn't give off a strong scent after 5 minutes.

ok im not sure if i have this version or the old one. my bottle looks very similar to this. Anyway!...I AM Happy to say i actually use this... it is great as a cheap neroli portofino ...i could not believe this little gem, bought from a local bargain warehouse type place for about 12 quid. I would highly recommend you grab a bottle, lash it on with confidence for a light dinner date with the mrs or to head down the pub with the lads, hell, at this price, wear it to and from the gym, no qualms

This was a blind buy fragrance set. I thought well it can't be that good, £12 set, but I was so surprised. It's a very nice sweetish and masculine scent, that after a very short time, develops into a strong scent, not dissimilar to Thomas black that I adore. Longevity is very good as well, 5-7 hours and for that price, it is one to put on your shelf, within the top 20 for me.

Mugler's Cologne is a very nice scent, but to my nose it smells much better on my wife than on me - it has nothing masculine in it. Jasper Conran Him has similarity to Mugler's Cologne as others have said, but it smells more masculine to me - in a Creed Original Vetiver kind of way. Thus I rate it as superior to Mugler's Cologne. Fresh citrus fragance, I see it as unisex and wearable any time of the year. It reminds me of Thierry Mugler Cologne, but I think Jasper Conran is lighter and more citrus (while less green). The note I get the most is grapefruit. Quite good for an everyday-office use.

Always liked this, I think it has a touch of the Acqua di Parma Colonia about it. My issue is with performance, suffice to say it’s pretty bad. Shame.

I really think this smells like a much more pleasant version of Encre Noir
