Jasper Conran Nightshade Woman

I have got quite into Conran scents this last year. I love Nude for summer and "beachy" days but Nightshade is a stunner. First spray, like a lot of this era, is screech and very in your face pepper and citrus but, give it 10 minutes and it becomes a rich, creamy floral. This lingers with the amber and musk giving it a rather sexy dry down. A real compliment getter, which people have rarely heard off. They are always surprised when I tell them. I like to smell different to what everyone else is wearing so it is a firm favourite. I am so glad I bought it. I, personally, don't see the resemblance to any other fragrance. It is a gem all of it's own and I love it. You could wear this anywhere, say or night, in any season. It smells good anytime, anywhere!!!! Sillage is moderate, noticeable but not knockout, classy and longevity is great. This lasts all day!!!!! Can't ask for more than that. Conran scents are not fashionable so are reasonably priced too. Mind you, I thought that when I first wore Narciso Rodriguez and Salvatore Ferragamo but they have become fashionable so price rocketed. Still, I love Conran, Klein and Cavalli, buy them now before word gets out. Lol.

The description here is missing patchouli. Also, I swear I can whiff bergamot-like note. I don't get much musk in here, if any at all. Perhaps I'm used to different types of musk. It appears rather masculine at first, even the bottle could be easily be used for a cologne; but given some time to develop, the floral notes beautifully expand beyond the citrusy-woody currents. It reminds me of Dior's Addict - though it is a bit more citrusy and less balsamic (no tonka or vanilla) the style is similar. The sillage and longevity are decent and the price tag is a steal. This is truly a magnificent scent. Not very strong but lasting, and most definitely a memorable one. Give it a good splash round your body and clothes and it will carry you from the work environment into the night of leisure easily and with confidence. It is not a 'flat' scent at all! What starts as an almost masculine whiff, becomes 'feminite-sexy but you have to work hard to get me' scent, which I adore! And the musk comes in exactly at the point when it should! This frag cannot be appreciated at the first whiff, it has to be 'worn' to get it. One of my favs :-)

Something to write home about; an easy-to-wear, well blended, warm and chic yet cosy composition with a bargain price tag to boot. Suitable for all year round with excellent projection and longevity. I'm guessing that its an attempt to replicate the Alien concept - although it doesn't smell like Alien - the prominent jasmine and amber/woody accord dominates and the florals are not shouting 'flowery'. Some of the designer brands could learn a thing or too from this classy little ambery floral..

I love love this scent, definitely for winter. I adore Dior Addict and this was a daily replacment to designer scent which sadly is now reformulated and cost a bomb. I love scents which have pepper notes so this was a big winner for me its sexy and not too loud. I totally agree with Justynka review 100%.

I bought this today and was very impressed with the opening.. Very much like ysl elle. After a while it changed snd I wasn't sure I liked it. Once it had fully dried down its more sweet, and quite dark rose a bit like rose jam. Love it

To me it's a "baby" of two Dior parents: Midnight Poison and Addict edp transforming into YSL Elle edp. And I'm sure patchouli is there, and it's not only present, it's potent:) what a surpring little gem it is!

On the first spray, the pepper overwhelms all other top notes. I can detect no orange or freesia. The middle notes of magnolia, Jasmine, and Lily make a very brief appearance but in the lovely warm woody dry-down is the heartsong - strong amber and cedar accords with the base note of musk. I also detect - in early drying - more than a hint of apple and a dark rose? The end result is in my mind strikingly similar to the Miller Harris fragrance, Rose En Noir. This scent is a really pleasing melange that wavers surprisingly long on the skin and has an impressive amount of silage. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from the cheap-looking and underwhelming packaging, but I was pleasantly mistaken. I checked and was even more surprised to find out it was an EdP, not an EdT, which makes this a great value for money wear in Autumn.

andjela is right - there is a striking similarity with YSL Elle because of the trinity of patchouli, cedar and pink pepper. However, I think that YSL Elle's longevity and sillage are much better. Nightshade is good value for money though.

A very nice sweet woody cheap long lasting great silage perfume. People complimented that it smelled like berry tart / cherry liqueur. I like it and it's a major plus that its really long lasting. Quite the hidden little gem I would say

Definitely one for fans of that era of perfumes that included Alien, Addict and Elle. Unfortunately, that's not me. For £2:99 though I'm not heartbroken. A good perfume really, great as a substitute for any of the above, good longevity etc. Just not for me.

I finally bought this and it is amazing. I bought it after testing it in the store and the next day sniffing at my top's sleeve when I sprayed it the day before and was amazing and so long lasting. Had to buy it. And now love it. I think it has patchouli in it, like someone suggested..

I was about to buy this in Debenhams as it was discounted. I thought was man perfume as the box was dark and perfume had a musky vibe. In 3 minutes it turned into Nero Assoluto- Cavalli and I love that. Sadly, I returned it because I was looking to buy for a man... Loved it though.

The notes look very ordinary and the smell is very familar. This one also has patchouli in it but they forgot to include it in the pyramid. It smells very masculine to me as well. Can anyone tell me which more famous fragrance is this one trying to copy?

Unbelievably underated gem of a fragrance with stunning Top, middle and Bass notes . Beats a lot of niche designer fragrances hands down.

Nice. Just I've had a couple of JC perfumes none of them last .
