Heyam

Heyam has a pleasant pipe tobacco focus. It is sophisticated but a bit soft overall. Those looking for a beast need to look elsewhere. The mix of tobacco and clove works for me and I like the leather touch too. I do not smell the gin but I barely know what gin smells like so it might just be me. I could see wearing this for a night out, Chris Maurice has again created a fragrance that underscores how a master craftsman can take some typical notes and spin them into something special. If I did not already have quite a fiew tobacco fragrances I love I would consider buying this one. I am glad I had a chance to sample this one and encourage others to do the same.

As the evening unfolded, an atmosphere of deep desire permeated the room. A journey of taste that I had not been on before, and it was incredible. Heyam is that passionate yearn for love. That uncontrollable attraction between two lovers. Golden liquid swathed in honeyed tobacco leaves that are rolled with nutmeg and cloves to spice things up. It smells rich and earthy with an unmistakably fecal barnyard kick just like an unlit Cuban cigar. Accentuated by hints of leather which are sweet and terribly addictive. At heart I can taste the orris and cedarwood which add a softness and powderiness. . Gin and cigars are not a common pairing but it works like an unexpected delight. A few drops of gin melded into the tobacco bring a form of clarity to the palate and prevents the fragrance from becoming dark. The gin also accentuates the rich backdrop and deeper caramel tones in the cigar. Heyam has that creamy textured smoothness and an incredible potency with a long woody trail to be enjoyed into the early hours of the next morning. Warm weather brings out the best in this scent. With a stellar performance I reserve this scent for noteworthy occasions and consider it one of my favourite tobacco scents. It is no surprise that the master nose behind this beauty is Chris Maurice.

I suggested similarities with Montale Oud Tobacco, just to give some image on what to expect. If you know Oud Tobacco, you will find Heyam more dry and woody, since Montale's creation is overly sweet. This one is more spicy, the tobacco note is pretty prominent, and the boozy gin note calms the composition down, making it completely wearable in cooler days, or while it rains. And yes, women can rock this one.

Heyam opens very spicy/spicy, citrus/biting and soaked in gin. It goes sovereignly to a dry woody surrounded by a delicious sweet tobacco that reminds me of tobacco leaves tanned in honey. Only when the fragrance begins to approach its apotheosis enters a soft leather and a creamy sandalwood blending perfectly with this sweet tobacco. Spicy boozy tabbaacado woody sophisticated perfume.
