Otis & Me

Got this as a surprise sample, and really happy I did. Spicy, ever so slightly smoky and delicious. The coffee is subtle and tasteful, not venturing into gourmand space at all. The smoke is mild, not cigarette-like at all to me, which I would find kind of a turn-off. Incense/pepper and just a bit of freshness remind me a bit (gasp) of Creed's Royal Oud. This frag is more floral in the mids and smoother, than Royal Oud, I find. I think it would serve well in multiple seasons and wear scenarios. Really like this one, 8/10. Color me stunned! I will for sure get a FB, as well as samples of the rest of the masculines in the line.

This perfume has won my heart in a deep way, I don't know if I can put the experience into words. The combination of cardamom, rose, incense, and coffee is an absolute joy. Ida Meister reviews Jazmin Sarai's line on this site and I agree that the coffee in this perfume is like Turkish coffee; it is spicy, lightly smoky, but the rose sings of love at its heart. So Beautiful! This woman just bought a full bottle and I can't wait for it to arrive. I love the multisensory approach too!

Bright almost vegetal cardamom and bergamot in the opening. As it warms up the black pepper, coffee, and balsam fill out the body with the cardomom still being at the head. The coffee is faint and blended quite well. Some perfumes opt for an almost fresh bag of beans, while others do a more brewed coffee, this uses the coffee almost like a spice. It’s more of a supporting role to cardamom and balsam. Really quite beautiful.

This is a deep, slow, dark perfume with a spicy heart. I'm so impressed by the freshness that is maintained throughout. Irresistible on men and compelling on women. Signature scent worthy.

I'm trying the perfume for the first time. The top feels a little generic-aquatic. I tend to get that with cardamom aromachems, a connection exploited I think in the concept behind Epice Marine. The heart is more up my alley, a light smoke. But it's more piney/citrussy frankincense than mysterious lapsang souchong, and I feel like the music is calling for something with more growl. Maybe I didn't apply enough? I do appreciate the fact that it gets smokier over time. A lot of smoky scents open with some kind of explosion and then go hide in mama's vanilla sugar. There's certainly a different story to this one. Unfortunately for me the story ends on an industrial cleaner note.

I received this along with other Jasmin Sarai perfumes in her Mixtape Sample collection. This is one of the ones I liked least. While I love drinking coffee, I'm not trying to smell like a bag of beans, and this perfume does just that. The coffee smell is overpowering. If you like coffee, check this one out, otherwise, it's a hard pass.

Brief top floral top note that is not rose. I got jasmine. A smokey jasmine, not dirty but quickly dries down into a dry, herbal, balsamic smoke.

I'm an incense type guy....I have about 10 incense fragrances in my collection, latest being Bois dEncens. This lovely Incense musty floral is something different all together. Cardamom is always spicey musty on my skin, so this is where the twist is. Upon first app I get Card/Inc/Rose. I don't want the Cardamom in my way, but it is.......until later when for ME the coffee kicks in to mellow out the Card. I knew when I first sniff'd this I would like it. I wouldn't want a woman wearing this unil the card burns off and the coffee starts to take over. It's a pleasure meeting Otis and Dana. Now if this does what it do......This is the NEXT big house to come on board the exclusive shops, including LED TV, How You Love andNeon Grafitti. Ugh. Ambroxan. Since learning to identify it, it overpowers any composition in which I find it. It's not listed in the notes here, but, trust me, it's there. I also detect cardamom.
