Classique Pin Up

Beautiful, Sweet, citrusy, bright, floral, radiant, fresh, powdery, fluffy, warm, uplifting, softly warm spicy, rich, intoxicating, feminine, classy, elegant, polished, chic, sensual, seductive, flirty, charming, whimsical, dreamy, divine, delightful, alluring, tempting, addictive, intriguing, inviting, cozy, comforting I’ve been wanting this one for quite a while, and finally snagged a bottle! I’m definitely not disappointed, it’s pretty much what I had been hoping for based off reading the notes and description. I was nervous that I wouldn’t get much marshmallow, but to my delight it’s very prominent on me. On me this opens with bright and fresh citron, warm spicy ginger, sweet and citrusy floral orange blossom, and sweet, fluffy, and powdery marshmallow. As it dries down the citron becomes softer and less sharp, the orange blossom and marshmallow stay prominent, and the sensual, powdery, and cozy vanilla and golden warmth of amber become prominent. Overall, I get a beautiful, classy, smooth, and seductive citrusy and floral vanilla marshmallow that’s warmed with golden amber. I do think this is similar to Kilian LDBS. This is a bit more citrusy, with warm spicy ginger, and has the JPG Classique DNA, but otherwise I do get the sweet and floral orange blossom and marshmallow that are prominent in LDBS. I get a slight similarity to Kilian Princess because of the ginger and marshmallow combo. However, Princess is much more delicate, lacks the orange blossom and citron, and has a beautiful matcha tea note. I also think it’s similar to Oriana, except this has a lot more depth with its ambery vanilla base. I’m a fan of JPG fragrances, and own a few others as well... the original Classique (lace corset bottle), Classique X, La Belle, and La Belle Flower Edition, all of which I enjoy very much. I also want to mention how gorgeous these bottles are. I love how Classique Pin Up has the glittery pink/rose gold corset or dress. It’s so sparkly and glamorous. This definitely feels feminine to me, and like it would work for women of any age. I think this actually works well year round because it’s sweet and warm enough for colder weather, yet not too sweet or cloying for warmer weather. It’s a great fragrance for pretty much any occasion too. I get excellent performance with Classique Pin Up. The longevity is really impressive, it lasts the entire day on me, and I can still smell it the next morning. The projection is great, it radiates out a few feet from me. I also don’t need to apply much for this effect, so I do consider this to be a good value. The only downside is that this was a limited edition fragrance which is now discontinued. Unfortunately, it’s not super easy to find now, but it’s worth it if you can find it for a decent price. I was really nervous about purchasing Pin Up due to the mixed reviews, but I found a 100ml tester for 40 euros and I couldn't pass this stunning bottle up. I already own Wonder Woman Eau Fraiche and Essence de Parfum and I love both despite not really being a sweet fragrance fan. JPG has converted me! Pin Up sits squarely between the two and will be an amazing transitioning scent for autumn and early spring. This is a sweet orange blossom bomb! The opening is not sharp or screechy to my nose, but because of the citron and ginger, the opening is a bit bright and green—assertive but not aggressive. The rest is orange blossom-scented marshmallows that melt a bit over time and go from fluffy to gooey. Even 10 hours later I catch wiffs of vanilla and soft orange blossom. It's lovely. Longevity is fantastic and this fragrance projects quite well. I'm so pleasantly surprised and really glad I decided to pick this up. She's a gem for those who love sweet orange blossom perfumes.

This is lovely. It opens a bit strange and funky (“perfumy”), but 15 min later this smells like Oriana by PDM. Fruity colorful mini marshmallows. Out of the scents I know, I’d say this is closest to Oriana. Also similar to LDBS, but this has a spicy fruity marshmallow vibe where LDBS is more vanilla. I started down a JPG blind buying rabbit hole after falling in love with Scandal by Night, which I expected to hate, and instantly became one of my top 5 favorites ever. This flanker is my 2nd fav JPG so far. I don’t normally like a lot of modern sweet candy gourmands because they smell extremely fake and cloying on my skin, but this and the other JPGs I’ve tried seem to turn into magic on my skin, especially when I’m a bit dirtier and due for a shower. Never had scents work so well with my chemistry. Now I guess I need to fill my vanity with torso and leg bottles!

I have absolutely no idea if this really is a new fragrance or if it is just a new package of the original edp - maybe someone can tell me? But I tried it on in the perfume shop today, as I went there for some face powder, and I just say, I absolutely LOVE it! It is Saturday today, and they have closed for the day, but on Monday I will have to go back and ask for a sample!! That’s the only thing I can do now, unfortunately, since I am quite poor right now. So I will just have to be patient - I will buy this, when I can!! So soft, warm, fresh, powdery and creamy - will be lovely even for summer, but then all year around! I personally don’t read this as a gourmand, but yet - it is so delicious I don’t need a cookie for my coffee. I just sit here in my favourite chair and sniff my arm, getting closer to my ideal weight..! 😊

Too bad I get easily noseblind with Pin Up because it's become a big favourite for me. My nose is far from trained so I cannot give a detailed review but to me Classique Pin Up is happy and bright citrus floating on something sweet and soft. I'm pretty useless at specifying different scents but I agree with perfume pyramid. Edit Interestingly I haven't bought or even wanted any new fragrances after getting Pin Up two months ago. It's that good. Light enough for office but never boring, feminine and "happy" but not in a juvenile or tacky way. It works great in somewhat humid Scandinavian summer but I don't think Pin Up is going to be too one dimensionable in colder seasons either. Ginger opening can be a bit much -it certainly is for me- but it dies down quickly and reveals the beautiful mid and base notes.
