Kokorico

Dare to be Different... This juice is good... There has been some negative chatter regarding Jean Paul Gaultier's, Kokorico. It is certainly different, but a good different that deserves an opportunity. Today was my first opportunity to try this fragrance - while not my typical fragrance (I am drawn more to the aquatic and citrus blends), I find it appealing and sufficiently unique to portray a message, "it is good to be different"... Out of the bottle, I get the burst of cacao notes that settles into a pleasant blend of patchouli, vetiver, and "woodsy" notes. It leaves curiosity, "gee, what is that smell?" to the user and those who "float across the wake" of Kokorico. Additionally, I would make a pitch that Kokorico would be an acceptable femine fragrance - almost Thierry Mugler Angel like... With my body chemistry, Kokorico offers moderate longevity and moderate, borderline weak, projection/sillage. As previously noted, today is my first real experience with Kokorico. That said, there is no "Wow Factor" to note, but the juice has the potential of getting that special attention, "you smell great, what is that fragrance you are wearing?". Given the uniqueness of the fragrance, versatility may be limited - I would suggest Fall and Winter as opportune times, and perhaps evening wear. The bottle is truly a piece of art - one of the "coolest" in my collection of nearly 500 (and growing). The packaging is also first class - job well done Jean Paul Gaultier. The true beauty of Kokorico is the price/value. A quick check on-line shows that large bottles are selling for under $30 USD - a "steal of a deal".. The uniqueness of the fragrance, design of the bottle, and coupled with outstanding deal, Kokorico deserves a shot. The bigger message - it is OK to be different - it is what makes the "world go around". If the longevity and projection/sillage were greater, this would be a first class fragrance. All things considered, I still highly recommend adding to your collection. Total evaluation of Kokorico is 4 stars out of 5 stars. Daily I.M - "Try something new, you may like it..."

I must admit that I am a fan of most of Annick Menardo's creations, and recently willing to get some discontinued fragrances that I could still find in stores in my country, I went for Kokoriko. When I put it on my skin I knew perfectly why this rare fragrance was discontinued and that is that for the year it came out and the Gaultier standards (especially in the time of Puig) this is a "rara avis" in their army of "Le male" this fragrance can be perfectly niche, it is a dark scent with an almost organic earthy taste that opens with a cocoa-patchouli combo that lasts throughout its life, the cocoa here is not sweet, for those who do not know the cocoa beans Toasted and grated they do not have a sweet taste or smell but rather bitter and dusty, this facet here is accentuated by patchouli and a very natural and organic vetiver. I do not know the fig plants so I do not know what the smell of their leaves is (one of the main components of this essence) but without a doubt this fragrance combines that facet of cocoa powder and patchouli with a green, sharp, wild touch with an almost milky touch and not at all sweet, all this on a slightly woody base of cedar. The components of this fragrance are very well balanced, none stands out above the others, all are perfectly detectable but none is the protagonist, but rather they dance in unison during the life of this fragrance that is quite linear and has a decent duration with a moderate projection, rather perfect. for night use any time of year. His bottle never seemed very attractive to me, like his wrong campaign that had nothing to do with that feathered Jon Kortajarena with what this dark glass hides in the shape of a face (they say it is Gaultier's face) and that as a curiosity it has to do when we put the back bottle features the silhouette of the iconic Le male. 100% recommended for those looking for a fragrance out of the ordinary, by concepción designer but with a niche soul.

ZZZZZZING! Holy olfactory shock! The first 60 seconds of Kokorico truly jolt your senses. The closest thing I can compare the opening to is the hard, gritty, dark chocolate tablets that come prepackaged in the popular Latin-American hot chocolate drink called "Abuelita." If you've ever made that drink, the initial blast of Kokorico is reminiscent of the hard, circular tablets of Abuelita - sweet, dry, spicy, addictive, and borderline bitter. All hitting your nose like a Freightliner! It's very narcotic in the sense that you'll keep sniffing and sniffing to get that high. The dry cacao scent quickly takes a step back, and the earthy, dirty fig leaf takes hold. The fig is so reminscent of moist dirt that has been freshly dug up from the ground. It's quite tantalizing and not as "nasty" as it sounds. This cool, moist dirt is a shining star for the first 2 hours of Kokorico. Eventually, the patchouli and cacao take the reigns. We are left with a fresh dirt fig + sharp pathcouli nestled in sheets of soft cacao on a smooth bed of cedar. It's completely sensual and very sultry. This fragrance needs to be worn a few times to be appreciated. It's not initially amicable like most mainstream fragrances. Kokorico is a fragrance for someone who dares to be different. Someone who wants wear a scent that complements their unique style or personality but doesn't want to spend hundreds of dollars doing so. Kokorico is definitely niche style, and I applaud JPG for daring to make this unique fragrance, but I can't help but shake there is something missing from the sultry combo of fig, patchouli, and cacao. On positive note, it's perfect for all seasons and weather conditions. Thank you, house of JPG.

STOP! Don’t move a muscle. You’ll lose it....that smell, the smell of sweet, sharp, delightful Cacoa with just the right amount of fig leaf crushed in there to pull off a sweet and sour vibe that will waiver back and forth against your bulbus olfactorius making you weak in the knees. The patchouli is perfectly balanced here, establishing an awesome trio of stink. How can such few notes provoke such odorous tenuti in your smell holes? I love it. I get it, there is a love hate with the juice man. I LIVE it. When I first smelled this frag, I was like “what the hell is that?” Now I’m at that point where I’m like “where in the hell is it?!?!?” I think this is one best tested before purchase for most. I blind bought it, but I do that often. It’s a sure fire symptom of a true stink-aholic. You know the routine, order, marking days off of the calendar as its shipped to the house, getting it from the mailbox!! Then opening it up and ignoring everything else in your life as you spray it on your forearm for the first time... and then its either – wait-for-it SMELLGASM or thumb twiddling with your head hung low while you wonder what the hell happened and slide into an evening of utter depression. Such is the life of a frag-meister. I enjoy this summer days and nights. I get decent longevity and sillage out of it for the most part. In general. This is just one of those that makes me look at the dislike bar and feel pity for those that do not understand the power of the Kokorico head. Next, I’m a gonna to try the “Night” versions.

I didn't have much expectations for this one as it's poorly rated and it went by with no guts nor glory. You don't hear ANYONE talking about this and there must be a reason it was discontinued and forgotten by the fragrance world however, as a collector I'm always interested in discontinued frags or any obscure things I can get my hands on as long as the price is reasonable and I found a 50ml BNIB for about $40 so I went for it and after all, it'd be nice to have a JPG in my collection that doesn't have 'Male' in the name. The bottle is a little tacky but it's also really nice, it's a gimmick but a nice one for that matter. Presentation is great, it comes in a tin can that you may expect from a niche fragrance and the bottle is a glossy black that is a face in the front but if you see by the side it's identical to the Le Male torso which is really cool but you don't buy a fragrance for the bottle right? what about the juice? The juice is amazing, I get this dark chocolaty feel, patchouli and vetiver some fig and it goes along amazingly, it's very artisty and beautifully crafted. Performance is good, 7-8 hours in my skin and the projection is just right, not beast mode (it won't offend others) but it's not skin scent. All in all this is a great surprise, my recognition to the perfumers for another well crafted scent, waaaaaaay ahead of its time and perhaps that says something about its early demise. To me this kind of resembles Nasomatto Pardon but with some designer sensibilities, I can't praise this enough

I got this bottle at "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" promo at a department store. The other one I got was JPG Le Male, and I had to choose something else from the same brand. It was between Kokorico, Le Beau Male, and Le Male Terrible. I went for this one because I thought it has the most distant scent compared to Le Male. At that time I've never bought a designer fragrance before. I was still new to the game and didn't really know all that much or what I was looking for. When I first sprayed this I thought "Wow, it's so peculiar!" Nothing like I've smelt before. It's dark and bitter. Woody and pungent. After it dried down, a bitter cocoa note emerged and I was starting to like it. The opening notes can be very intrusive and I would imagine not everyone would be into this. I would say this one is an acquired taste. I think Kokorico is perfect for night time and special evening occasions, for people who are daring, want to be different and break away from the pack. I personally love it now and wish I could wear it more often (unfortunately I don't have many evening occasion to go to :P), so sometimes I would spray it before I go to bed at night and immerse myself in a dark and mysterious world of Kokorico.

Alongside L'Occitane Bois Flott, Hermes' H24, Kenzo, Acua di Gio, Terre d Hermes, and Hexensalbe, Kokorico is up there. I often layer it with Hexensalbe, or show it off alongside Kenzo sometimes. Sometimes with Terre d'Hermes. It's earthy, and warm, and FUN! Some write that its for night-time, but I think a vibrant personality can get away with it during the day-time or even at work. Especially alongside, a more sophisticated scent like something from L'Occitane or Hermes. Between the fig, patchouli, and cacao... it's brilliant. I don't own anything like it. It like tobacco without tobacco. It's earthy AND fun, which is a hard combination to obtain. It has a certain soil fragrance which is refreshing. I love this fragrance all year round. Only available it EDT, but it's enough as an EDT. The fig is the key component that brings this whole thing together. FUN AND Earthy. I started with a small version, but since its been discontinued has to move up to the 3.3 oz to ensure I don't run out. I wish it were re-continued. I hope its available for a while longer. Fun bottle too. Looking forward to a 3.3 oz. spray nozzle as opposed to the splash bottle only in the small version. Luv this one.

I've had this perfume for a long time, but I haven't used it much. Today I bought Tom Ford Noir and wanted to compare it with something similarly unconventional. Oh people, what a masterpiece Cocorico is compared to noir. Dark strong, and it's Cocoa and patchouli. Not for today's teenage tastes, but considering when they were released, it was a great move. I have many perfumes, more than 100, and it's special. I can't think of anything similar. It takes 2-3 wearing them to fully understand it. I'm sure that who once used up a full bottle, then comes back to them, because it is difficult to replace them with something else. If you have more than 10 fragrances and have already developed a nose, at least buy a sample to find that day and relax with this scent in the evening. This is not a fragrance for people who like fresh, summer scents. Unless you are looking for a typical stronger perfume for the evening. Look at the fragrance notes, if you associate them with other perfumes, and they are vibes you feel good in then buy a bottle. main accords: woody warm spicy cacao green patchouli earthy fresh aromatic sweet

Jean Paul Gaultier, you've done it again! A very unique, sensual creation. This one is like black coffee. You either have the taste for it but you don't. I appreciate the subtle, healthy sexuality that Jean Paul Gaultier puts into they're fragrances and packaging with exception to the soup can container. Like Fleur Du Male, this is very natural. And not synthetic natural like the cheap male colognes of yesteryear. On my skin its very musky cocoa powder with cedar which is fantastic. I have to say though i was a little concerned when i smelled it before i sprayed it. The bottle i absolutely love. In fact thats pretty much what sold me on it. From the back of the head it looks like the oh so popular Le Male torso profile. I also like the throwback to the 80s look with the shiny black enamel, red makeup smear/paint font and smoky silver sprayer. So far I set this as I like. Once I wear it more, im sure it will end up in the love sooner or later. By the way, is this stuff discontinued? Because i've never seen it in a department store, perfume store or any big box store. Instead I found it in ross.

At first sniff i was not deterred at all by the Super Sharp opening (it cuts through air; but pleasantly). I think the patchoulli is a great middle ground between the cacao and the figleaf. It works beautifully. I'm still waiting for the dry down. Someone said it dried down similarly to CK Shock, and I'm hoping because that's what I wear that for. If I can get it with the beautiful opening of Kokorico, I'm set! Edit: Worn it thrice now.. No longer reminds me a lot of A men and Shock, after an hour of wear. The opening is wonderful - a dry chocolate vibe layered with grassy and floral tones. My wife said very sweet when she walked into the room, then she said it smelled of flowers once it settled. An hour after wear it smells reminiscent of Zino and is wearable in slightly warmer conditions (as compared to Amen). It takes you on a great journey through different layers! I'll refrain from rating this. I blind bought it, and I would do it again with more and more confidence as I continue wearing it.

I couldn't agree less with those who say people praise this frag only due to the JPG's brand on it. I'm sure I would have liked it a lot even as a no-name product. And not because it's the first perfume in which I am able to smell and name almost all of the notes listed in the pyramid (which is not that hard, as there are only five of them, but still makes me proud). The opening is fig leaf, big time. In the company of some cocoa. The fig leaf is so prominent that it helped me to learn to recognise this note in other fragrances where it's not so much pronounced. After 15-30 minutes the balance starts to lean towards the cocoa. As others have written, it's not chocolate, but definitely cocoa. And the patchouli is also there. But the cocoa is the note that characterises the frag throughout it's lifetime on me, because it's there even after 6+ hours, when it has long become a skin scent with vetiver and something else which according to the pyramid must be Virginia cedar.

In my perspective, Kokorico presents itself as a truly exceptional fragrance. It embodies a masculine essence with an almost niche-like quality. In this aspect, it somewhat evokes the sentiment of Tom Ford - Noir, positioned in that intriguing space between the realms of niche and mainstream perfumery. By orchestrating an effect through the judicious infusion of musk, Menardo and Cresp cleverly sidestep a direct confrontation with the robust cocoa notes, steering their creation towards an entirely distinct trajectory, while crafting an enthralling and captivating aroma. It's pertinent to mention that the musk, while integral, isn't overtly conspicuous; instead, it orchestrates a delightful shift in the hierarchy of scents. In my estimation, Kokorico finds its exquisite niche particularly in the spring season, where the verdant vibrancy of its fig-based opening beautifully harmonizes with the reawakening natural world. My rating: Strongly recommended! (7/7)

Love at first spray! Dark, Industrial coal and laminate meets a comforting greenhouse of warm, blanketed patchouli and cocoa. Feels ozonic; not dusty. Reminds me of a dark, dank greenhouse in the heart of Tim Burton's vision of Gotham City. As for the dislikes? I'll say this much...if you're a fan of Kokorico, consider yourself in the elitist camp of olfactory gurus. When you purchase a unique scent like this, you're not only paying for the juice inside this crafty looking glass bottle, you're paying to wear someone elses artistic vision. I agree along the lines with what one reviewer already stated several reviews below mine. If this same juice was poured into a Tom Ford bottle with a niche marketing campaign, the love colum would be through the roof. The posers on Fragranitica never cease to amaze me. Two thumbs way up for Kokorico! Straight to the favorites shelf you go!

Don't listen to ratings, always test for yourself.. I got this and enjoy it a lot.. It reminds me of layton by parfums de marly. Has a similar type of vibe. Layton smells like a combo of this and something like polo red intense mixed.. but the main backbone def reminds me of kokorico... This is a good alternative to that or something like burberry london.. It fits the same bill for me.. I really think it's a great scent.. Edit: Just to clarify, this is more dry and less sweet than layton, but layton reminds me of this scent with polo red intense on top.. I like both.. but this one does more magic in the air than if you smell it right up close. up close this might turn away some people because of its dry and almost bitter smell.. I went online to get this again but I can see the prices have went up a lot. I am guessing this is discontinued. This fragrance never got it's due respect. But what can you ask for from a world where people are chasing 80 flankers of the same fragrance. 90 percent of fragrances copy each other or are clones of something. There's not too much originality anymore. This fragrance was extremely unique and I liked it a lot. I don't like something just because it's "unique". The magic of this fragrance happened in the air and not off the skin. It's a dry cacao, sweet chocolatey dusty and addictive smell. It's like if you took Layton and stripped away the sweetness and left some dusty backbone of the DNA. I really enjoyed the way this stuff smelled off my skin in the air.

It would be hard to put it better than @jiksjiks1 did by describing this scent as "cacao on wet earth after raining in the forest." Spot on. It's cocoa for sure, but almost a powdery cocoa, offset by the patchouli, which gets a bit stronger during the dry down. It's not a harsh or in your face cocoa smell at all, it's very subtle and warm. The vetiver, cedar, and fig leaf start to emerge about 20 minutes after application, and the whole bouquet comes together very nicely. I get a decent 4-5 hours of longevity here, but with a scent as subtle as this one, don't expect it to project very far. That's not a mark against this scent, I don't think, because you wouldn't want a fragrance like this to be overpowering.

Cocoa Patchouli done right. I am a Patchouli lover ever since I've acquired A*Men pretty early on in my journey. The darkness and the bitterness and the earthiness of the patchouli just were very different from what I was more used to wearing at the time. I did not care for any negative comments I might get from my peers, because "we are all wearing fragrances for ourselves" right? LIDGE, Pardon and Tempo are all within the similar vicinity with this one. This I feel is the second most wearable next to LIDGE (Guerlain is truly magical), but these two are very close to one another. Kokorico boasts perfect balance between cocoa and earthy, borderline-dirty patchouli and warm woods. A masterful creation.

Although I enjoy the top notes of this one too, I totally get why some may hate it, but look past that, the top on this doesn't last as long as A*men's (my fav scent from top to bottom) but the dry down is awesome. Yes the cocoa and greens are in a conflict but that's what makes this interesting. It will make you think. I've never been a fan of Le Male although I own a bottle, I think it's mediocre, whereas this one is very interesting and the only similarity it has with LIDGE is the cocoa note which is similar. All I'm saying is give it time and let it grow on you, I know it will. Edit: The projection is crazy on this one, although I like it, it does have a synthetic metallic vibe.

stunning cocoa and fig leaf mix, deep, dense, with great projection and +8h longevity. BUT, for the first edition only, before reformulation. 2011-2014 ( some 2014 bottles could be reformulated as well, so the best and 100% secure are 2011-2013 batches). it s a unique fragrance, for sure, similar in DNA with LIDGE but also diferent in the evolution. The reformulation simply destroyied this fragrance, recipe and performances and the poor sales in the last years is the explanation for the discontinuation of this fragrance, since summer 2018. Beautiful bottle, amazing package and impressive scent for the first editions. Goodbye, Kokorico!

One of the most exquisitely blended designer fragrances ever released. So sad to see it discontinued, as I would choose this masterpiece over any of Gaultier's endless "Le Male" series. Been stocking up on it, even though the average price for the 3.3 oz. is now $80. or higher and rapidly increasing. (used to get it on sale for around $40) I am determined to have enough of this "cacao and fig leaf" master blend to last me the rest of my life. I do love it dearly. Perhaps Gaultier will re-release it one day, in one of the iconic Le Male bottles and call it "Cacao Le Male." Scent - 10 Sillage - 6 Longevity - 8

Suprisingly!! This has an amber note that remind me A lot jean paul dupont ambre oriental And armaf niche oud ,very round warm woodsy amber. Very high quality this one. So.. A lot of reviws nothing much I can add.. Its like combination of a fruty fig fig leaf and dry fig a bit of cocoa.(my imagination but thats the effect you know) All blended wonderfully its really for all Ages very casual and very versatile. This is butifull. and is high quality and also yes niche scent. 9 hours and i still get good wiffs and its Very noticable on the skin. Projection is very good like arm and a half for 3 hours.

This is simply another classic that has faced the graveyard too early, like many many other beautiful creations before it. I didn't like this when it came out, because I was more into fresh acuatics then. But it was never bad, and I ordered samples recently to remind me of this. Both this and the night version which is very close but more intense, are great original scents. And in line with JPGs more daring approach he used to have yesteryear which was so cool. Today I feel that it is brands like Paco Rabanne, Herrera and Moschino (all spanish?) are the ones pushing the fragrance game forwards.

I think this is really perfect. It is like a much better Zino Davidoff, or closer to what I had hoped the Zino would smell like. It isn't quite as dry as the Zino, it seems to be a better balance, and seems to have better ingredients. It has a more interesting drydown, and is fresher and greener, though only slightly greener. I love how that cacao note is only slightly present most of the time. This is really mostly woody and fig leafy, with a nice blanket of patchouli. I have enjoyed it since the first time I used it, but I'm liking it even better with time and multiple wearings.

This is my second review after wearing this, and it's skyrocketed to my favorites and defended itself against the 8 frags I've purchased since. It's taken Burberry London's place in my rotation because of its layers. The initial brash opening is beautiful and the dry down is like a second skin of earthy cocoa. I feel like a couple of hours in, it dries out and threatens to evaporate. Sweaty, oily skin wears this frag way better than drier, and amplifies projection. It's now a signature frag for me. Highly recommended if you're sick of oud's; aquatics; and overly sweet gourmands.

A dusty, sweet, earthy greenhouse. If anyone dislikes Kokorico, they probably shouldn’t be in this hobby honestly. It’s an easy wear. Between the original and “By Night”, this one is the champion. No point in seeking out the rare flanker unless you’re rich. They’re 95% the same scent. So much so that you can’t help to think that “By Night” was the epitome of a text book cash grab. Regardless for many who may not know yet, the Kokorico bottle holds a secret. View the bottle from its side (thicker side facing you), and see the outline of the original Le Male bottle. Fun stuff!

Blind bought this as I collect Gaultier perfumes/bottles. I gave it to my boyfriend who actually quite likes it (if he didn't, I was going to use it myself as he only likes overtly masculine scents - I took a punt that it would be though as most men's fragrances in black bottles tend to be quite heavy and masculine). It is very strong on first spray and if trying in a store, I can see why someone would immediately hate it or find it a bit generic. However, over the longevity of the fragrance, it becomes more complex and the silage draws closer to the body. A love for me.

Really loving this despite it being a somewhat mainstream designer fragrance...uber-green fig leaf opening with the patchouli quite noticeable as is the vetiver...I do get the cacao note after about 1-15 minutes into it...must admit, that I was totally taken by surprise at how great this frag is...definitely a great blind buy to start off 2015...very dark from start to finish...kinda like an ultra-intense version of Encre Noir...definitely worth a whirl if you're looking for something earthy, dark, green, and intense. Excellent longevity and a rather big sillage.

Ok, so I got this quite cheap because I couldn't afford lidge. It's almost identical. Almost but lidge has some citrus going on but I don't get much of that in here. Longevity and sillage are quite decent. I can wear it now that it's getting colder. 10/10 Ok, so now that I've worn this for a day, I take back what I said about lidge. It's not almost identical, it's reminiscent. Lidge has spices and citrus going on and this doesn't. It's still a good fragrance in its own right but if lidge was the same price as this, I'd pick lidge hands down

One day people will understand that in fact you don't need even ONE spray, all you have to do is buying the stuff and hold it in your hands to feel the scent radiation going through your whole body, magically. And that is only under severe freezing condition. But alas, people are still byuing and spraying fragrances all around us. Really. I used to have Kokorico. I think it's better than LIDGE but not as good as L'Instant EDT, which is the one wear, even during Summer, evenings or not.

I get it. It's an acquired smell. But to me beautiful none the less. The opening is strong and almost abrasive to the delicate nose. Many will walk away now but those who persist are doomed to ecstasy! Wow! Cocolicious with some tobacco notes i might add. Brings me the image of walking into a chocolate shop/cigar store in Cuba, (could be a place like that in Cuba.) I will reiterate - wait 15-20 mins for the top notes to settle and you wont stop wanting to sniff your wrist constantly.

GOT MY SECOND BOTTLE OF KOKORICO AND ITS ALL SAME USE TO BE...NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE FRAGNANCE ..JUZ AWESOME..DONT KNOW WHY PEOPLE DIDNT LIKED THIS...I HAVE TESTED MANY PERFUMES AND HAVE AROUND 46 PERFUMES ..BUT THIS ALWAYS MADE ME SMILE EVEN AFTER 6 HOURS....COMPLIMENTS COMPLIMENTS AND COMPLIMENTS WHENEVER I WEAR..PARTY, OFFICE , DINNER NIGHT, OR CASUAL OUT..PERFECT FOR ALL SITUATION..NEVER DISAPPOINTED ME EVEN MY WIFE LOVE THIS FRAGNANCE...LASTING ON ME ATLEAST 11 HOURS NO DOUBT

@ Konga500 Hi again Konga. It seems that we meet again now in the Kokorico page. I am sory to say but, by your review, you must have bought a very bad fake of this fregrance. If it is as bad as you say just throw it away as it seems to be pure poison (but not Pure Poison from Dior). My Kokorico - as almost all Hermes fragrances - smells divine and very similar to another divine fragrance called L'instant de Guerlain pour Homme Eau Extreme. Better luck next time.

This is a great patchouli cocoa combo. More patchouli than any other note. Kinda dry and sweet ( like cocoa powder lol) Does have slightly herbal background (?absinthe/wormwood) Decent overall to be honest. Maybe not as refined as LIDGE but still pretty decent. Average to good performance Hard to love though. BUT I feel the hate is unjustified. Very risky in designer realm, but stays true to JPG branding. Overall 7/10 Good casual wear in fall season.

For the simple fact that I LOVE this despite disliking patchouli/earthy notes, this is a feat of perfumery. A masterpiece. Either that or my taste is changing. This has sat in my collection for probably 5 years and I *did* like it at first, just didn't think I could pull it off as a girl in her 20's. Now I just don't care. It smells good so I'm gonna start wearing it :) edit: Just remembered Annick Ménardo is the perfumer. No wonder I love it.

This is a first impressions on paper. For some reason near the early stages of this fragrance it reminds me of burberry london. Not sure why.. Something in there reminds me of it. So far I kind of dig it. I wonder why all the bad ratings? It smells very unique. Its hard to put what I am smelling into words.. I have to give it some full wearings to write a more thorough review but so far I like it and it has a smell that really stands out.

I know a lot of people hate this, but I'm actually growing to love it! I just love the way the cocoa and patchouli mix! It has this addictive sweet yet dirty smell to it that I find brilliant! It has wonderful projection and lasting power and beautiful progression! I must say that you need to try it and give it time before you outright judge it because it is a lovely fragrance!

A really nice choc-chouli fragrance, that I get isn't to everyone's tastes. I really do like it, the opening is pretty sweet, that doesn't last long, it soon dries down into the notes listed, hefty patchouli and vetiver, with a strong dose of cacao. Very masculine, great fragrance, I find the packaging and bottle a bit on the tacky side. Glad I bought one. 6.5/10

from first spray i get a heavy cacao scent and kind of a dirty/earthy mud scent with it, very woody and sweet then around 5 minutes later as it settles the earthiness starts to go away and it starts to smell chocolatey, spicy and woody i have a old 3/4 full bottle from 2013 and it smells great 8.5/10 not for daily wear but when you can wear it, its amazing

OMG! I'm a woman who has been exploring unisex and man fragrances lately. Loving the spices, green notes & smokiness of them. This one is just lovely; sweet, dry cocoa with a green patchouli & woody background. The dry down is amazing. The scent has a descent longevity; it wears close to the skin, although not enough so it will get noticed. LOVE!

This my first time ‘reviewing’ or commenting on any scent here even though I’ve been enjoying them for nearly 30 years. I wanted this fragrance to be my first because I believe, with every fibre of my being, that it’s criminally underrated. Warm and cosy although admittedly probably not for younger guys. Still a masterpiece.

Had this in a drawer for a while now, remembering all the bad reviews it got. i had just hidden it away and forgotten it, but tonight i sprayed it on my wrist and that great smellig cacao and green scent just hit me like a warm breeze, i love this fragrance and i will stack a couple bottles away in case its discontinued.

Don't be fooled by the fact that I say it has niche perfume quality, it has a scent that is open to general taste. The quality of the blending and interpretation of the scent is far superior to most niche perfumes on the market. Moreover, nowadays the distinction between niche and disagner perfumes is narrowing.

Also I have to add, whatever you do, do not wear this in the summer especially if you live in Arizona during the monsoons when its hot and humid. I made the mistake of wearing this during when it was hotter than hell and lemme tell ya I cleared off a city block. This stuff is potent. Sill love it though :)

This is so well done! The bottle looks fantastic and the scent - I have finished my first bottle in just one month by only spraying it on my hand and sniffing all day long. Now I have a second bottle, which I have started to wear regularly. So much pleasure with only a few ingredients - fantastic.

A bold glorious gem! This reminds me of a dependable old friend. Warm lovely open and constant. It might not be everyones cup of tea, but from open to dry down it holds your attention and let's u know he is here with you. I will always have a bottle on hand for summer, fall, spring and winter.

I think this one is great.. Very unique and distinctive. Hard to explain the scent, but for some reason something in this reminds me of burberry london.. I am not sure what is in there that reminds me of it, but it does.. Not sure why this fragrance gets so much hate.. I really like it.

Scary and beautiful at the same time. This shares aspects of Zino and Varvatos's original, but without the sweetness. A niche-feeling sort of character, a bit challenging, it's a little surprising this made it to the commercial market. A great fragrance. Longevity is astounding.

Pulled this out of hiding today.....after a long time. I have forgotten about it...???.....Why? Well, because I own like 500+ bottles of fragrance.....so a lot of the scents will be "ignored"...indirectly. With all that being said... Kokorico...is still...IMO..a MASTERPIECE !!!

Ya. Kokorico like you are smelling cacao on wet earth after raining in the forest. Very unique. I could wear this everytime. Too bad my girlfriend doesn't like this. Longevity is good. People can notice the smell easily but it's not overpower fragrance. Overall: 9/10

Love it! Very sexy! This is coming from a woman! Need a little time to develop... and the patchouli to settle down. i don't get the negative reviews here at all! It is not your usual main stream frag! It is unisex i think , not so crazy about the bottle though.
