La Belle Flower Edition

Sweet, floral, fruity, vanilla, powdery, lactonic, creamy, white floral, citrusy, woody, radiant, feminine, romantic, sensual, seductive, classy, elegant, charming, whimsical, dreamy, delightful, cheerful, uplifting, alluring, inviting, cozy, comforting, unique On me this opens with sweet jammy apricot. The heart blooms with lemony and slightly waxy magnolia, creamy and slightly leathery osmanthus, and lush jasmine. The dry down shines as it intertwines sensual and powdery warm ambery vanilla with woody vetiver and a gentle patchouli that adds a nice depth. The most prominent notes on me are the apricot, magnolia, osmanthus, vanilla, and then vetiver followed by the patchouli. I just had to get this one as I’m a JPG fan, really enjoy magnolia, and find the bottle to be absolutely stunning! Yes, the bottle was a big selling point to me because it’s sculpted beautifully, and I think the magnolia accent is absolutely gorgeous! Fortunately, it also sounded like a fragrance that I would enjoy, and thankfully I wasn’t disappointed! I got my bottle right whenever it launched last year, and I do think it’s changed slightly as it’s macerated. I notice the osmanthus, vetiver, and patchouli more prominently than they were at first. The osmanthus really seems to bring a milky, leather-like scent now that wasn’t as noticeable before. To me this feels very feminine, and suitable for women of all ages. This feels like it works best during the spring, summer, and fall because of the bright fruity floral profile. I mentioned fall because the woody ambery vanilla base makes it work during the cooler weather, especially during the earlier part of fall, but throughout the whole season. This feels fitting for any occasion from casual to fancy, and including work/school. I do enjoy JPG fragrances quite a bit, and currently own Classique (OG lace corset bottle), Classique X, Classique Pin Up (my favorite as a gourmand girlie!), La Belle, and La Belle Flower Edition. I wouldn’t say this is particularly similar to La Belle, and it likely wouldn’t be noticeable as a flanker just from the scent itself. It’s much more floral, but it does share the woody amber-y vanilla base as well as a leathery nuance from the osmanthus. I’m also really looking forward to ordering the new JPG Divine Couture and trying it out because it sounds amazing! I think La Belle Flower Edition performs wonderfully. The longevity is great, it lasts throughout the entire day on my skin. The projection is strong, it radiates out at least a few feet from me. Beautiful, fruity, floral, sweet, bright, radiant, fresh, feminine, classy, elegant, charming, flirty, sensual, warm, creamy, enchanting, whimsical, luminous, uplifting, unique On me this opens with sweet, fruity, and bright burst of jammy apricot which settles into a lovely blend of the slightly waxy and lemony scent of magnolia, sweet jasmine, and soft osmanthus. As it dries down the warm, creamy, and sensual ambery vanilla, vetiver, and patchouli base really begins to shine. It starts off bright and fresh, and once it’s fully dried down it’s a more warm and sensual creamy vanilla and amber apricot. The patchouli is extremely subtle, so it really just enhances the other notes, and is difficult for me to pick up on its own. If you are worried about the patchouli, don’t be, and still give this a try. It’s very well balanced and blended, and is a very beautiful and sophisticated fragrance. It’s also rather unique, I can’t say that I have anything very similar to this in my collection. To me this definitely feels feminine, and I think it can easily be worn by women of any age. Even though this is more spring and summer leaning, I do think it will work all year round. It’s fruity, bright, and floral enough for the spring and summer, but also sweet, warm, and sensual enough for fall and winter. I think this would work well for pretty much any occasion from casual to fancy. This is sweet, but not too sweet (The OG La Belle is sweeter). Also floral, but not overly so as you might expect from the name “Flower Edition”. Rather it’s a lovely balance between fruity, floral, and vanilla. I’m really excited to pair this with some of my B&BW lotions, especially vanilla ones and Forever Sunshine (another great apricot fragrance). As soon as I saw this stunning bottle I became very intrigued as to what the fragrance would be like. I read the description and notes, and decided that it would probably be a safe blind buy for me. I’m definitely not disappointed at all! This is such a lovely and unique take on La Belle, I actually enjoy it even more than the original. It’s actually quite different from the OG, and would not necessarily be easily identified as a flanker of it (compare to ones like Alien Goddess and Alien Goddess Intense, D&G Devotion and D&G Devotion Intense, YSL Black Opium and YSL Black Opium Le Parfum, ect). It’s its own unique fragrance, but does still have a bit of the La Belle dna. It’s definitely one of my favorite JPG fragrances! For reference, I also own La Belle, Classique (original lace corset bottle), Classique X, and Classique Pin Up. I get excellent performance with La Belle Flower Edition. The longevity is impressive, it lasts the entire day, and I can still smell it the next morning. The projection is very good, it radiates out a few feet from me. I only need a few sprays to get this effect, so I do consider this to be a good value. I also wanted to add that this doesn’t cause me to get a headache (an extremely rare occurrence for me), nor does it cause me to have any nausea (more common than headaches for me).

I can’t do justice after @darkbeauty’s review!! I will say that everything they said is SPOT on. Some additions I’ll make as a newer perfume collector - this feels like a really easy wear, especially as it’s drying down. The initial scent has something to it that I don’t really like, but that goes away pretty quickly. As it dries down, it develops into such a beautiful, light but bold-ish scent. Nothing too overwhelming. I have yet to pick up on any notes of patchouli, so I really wouldn’t let that deter you if you’re interested based off of everything else. Oh, the bottle is adorable - as always. I love jpg’s craftsmanship. The flower seems to be plastic, to answer somebody’s question. I haven’t messed with it too much, but it seems relatively sturdy. I would not complain if this became regularly available (vs limited edition). Edit: wait.. is this a limited edition? Or did I just confuse myself bc edition is in the name.. Edit (again): I THINK I found the patchouli. I sprayed it on my robe and 24 hours later, there is a slight hint of it. I didn’t notice that on my clothes after 12 hours, so it seems to be something that maybe takes a while to develop. And of course the remnants of the patchouli are super subtle

Lately, I haven't been interested in any designer perfumes because to my nose they all smell the same to my nose and they are just so redundant. I get it, they are trying to fit a certain market but it just hasn't been for me. I saw two video reviews of this fragrance and decided to take the risk and purchase from their website. What a great decision! This fragrance is amazing, to my nose it has the same vibe as Divine, I was a bit afraid of the flower notes but it is such a well balanced fragrance. It's elegant, sweet, fresh, everything at the same time. I see myself wearing this all year long. It's strong, I sprayed the receipt that comes inside the box and I can smell it every time I walk in the room. This is definitely going to be part of my permanent collection. Regarding the apricot that some reviewers mention, I do agree that it's there but not too sweet, maybe the outside of the fruit. A great creation! For those of you who don't enjoy flowery perfumes, give it a try.. Sample it first of course but don't let it deter you... You will be surprised.

Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle Flower Edition is a soft, powdery and floral fragrance that feels very elegant and feminine on my skin. The powdery note comes through clearly and gives it a smooth, slightly velvety texture. The floral aspect is noticeable but not sharp — it blends nicely with the softness and creates a refined, gentle character. What I really like is how it develops over time. It sits well on the skin and actually becomes better the longer it wears, as the powdery and floral notes settle into something warmer and more harmonious. It feels like a more mature fragrance, well suited for adults rather than something playful or overly sweet. Overall, it’s a beautiful, elegant and soft floral-powder scent that improves with time and feels very wearable and sophisticated. Absolutely great for summer. I give it 8/10. Downside is it doesn't last longer than 5 hours.
