La Belle

Sweet, warm, fruity, juicy, bright, aquatic, fresh, powdery, aromatic, woody, floral, feminine, sensual, seductive, sexy, flirty, classy, elegant, chic, charming, whimsical, enchanting, alluring, inviting, cozy, comforting On me this opens fruity and fresh with juicy and syrupy sweet pear and bright bergamot. As it starts drying down the fruity notes are joined by soft florals and aromatic leather on a bed of powdery vanilla, earthy and woody vetiver, the golden warmth of amber, and soft, powdery musk. The notes that are the most prominent on me are the pear, vanilla, amber, and vetiver. This has always strongly reminded me of Kayali Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar (one of my top favorites), and even somewhat of The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods (another favorite of mine), and SDJ 40. I really enjoy JPG fragrances as well, and have several in my collection... La Belle, La Belle Flower Edition, Classique (OG lace corset bottle), Classique X, and Classique Pin Up. To me this feels feminine, and like it would suit women of any age. It would make a lovely signature scent. I think it’s most fitting for the fall and winter, or maybe as a nighttime scent during warmer weather. It also feels suitable for any occasion, from casual to fancy. I get great performance with La Belle. The longevity is very good, it lasts throughout the entire day on me. The projection is really nice, it radiates out at least a few feet from me. OG La Belle (2022) had a beautiful musk base note that lasted all day & night. It also came in a gorgeous glass bottle with lovely gold roses around the neck. The scent was DIVINE. This new reformulation (2024-2025) retains a tiny bit of the lovely top notes of pear, vanilla & amber, but completely lacks any hint of musk - which is what truly carries a fragrance (quality musk). The pretty top notes last at best an hour. The musk has been replaced with the same generic boring play doughy base note that all used-to-be-quality-before-murdered-by-“reformulation” fragrances have these days. 😒 That offensive chemical smelling play dough scent is what stands out the majority of the few hours this frag lingers. The bottle is an insult. My three year old nephew could design prettier gold flowers in his pre-k class. Looks like tinker bell barfed up gold flowers & they dried all sloppy around the neck of the bottle. This 2024-2025 reformulated version - in the first 20 or 30 minutes, if you take tiny shallow sniffs (like you’re trying to hyperventilate), you can almost smell something similar to the OG. So I put this on before bed & basically hyperventilate at my wrist as I remember the good ole days when the OG La Belle used to rock my world. (If you take a long inhale/sniff the frag is completely overrun by that sh*tty cheap play dough garbage scent). I’m mad at you JPG. How dare you get old (like me)😡 BRING BACK THE OG FRAGRANCES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL SEXY & ALIVE!!! My nose cries each time another one bites the dust 🫥 And no, I’m not just going to “get over this.” This really hurt & it’s gonna take me a long time to forget.

I blind bought this yesterday because I got such a good deal on it. I have no regrets honestly. It’s a very warm vanilla scent. Actually one of the best ones I’ve tried because I’m not a huge vanilla person. The opening you definitely get the pear and carnal notes with almost a tinge of burnt smell, but not quite burnt.. Kinda like you are making Carmel at home and let it go right to the edge before it’s a disaster. (Home cooks will understand this.) Or possibly when you are burning the top of a cream brûlée with a torch. This dissipates rather quickly and rolls right into the heart where there is a very small floral note. The leather is a little more prominent here, but not in a bad way. It rounds out the floral so it’s not overwhelming. Keeps it in check, if you will. This also doesn’t last all that long on my skin (longer on clothes) before the dry down kicks in. The dry down smells very much like I rubbed a raw vanilla bean on my skin and that smells lasts for hours. I sprayed it in my after taking a warm bath. Put in my PJ’s and went to bed. I woke up 12 hours later (yes I slept that long 🤣) and I still smell the faint vanilla smell all over me. I didn’t get much Ambroxan out of it, or if I did it didn’t last and didn’t cover up the vanilla smell. I also never got the bergamot in the opening. I didn’t find that overly sweet smell others found. I found it was just enough of a sweet smell to make it gourmand without obliterating the other independent scents. A total win for me and was happy to add it to my collection.

Caramelized syrupy pear over a base of warm vanilla, with floral notes in the background acting as supporting players. I was surprised to see this has leather, I hate leather, but I do not smell it in this perfume. Maybe that’s what is adding the sexy feral characteristic to La Belle. The longevity and projection is excellent; this lasts all day with resilient silage. When I wear this at home, my whole home smells like La Belle. This is a winter time only perfume for me, not just because of the performance but because it is magical in the cold. I love wearing this when I can see my breath outside, it warms my soul. A classic 10/10 for me. I find this too sexy for work or day to day wear, this is something that I pull out for a night out. I see reviews calling it a “stripper” perfume. But I find her classier than that. I think this is what a bond girl or a burlesque dancer would wear. I love the bottle, it represents the scent perfectly and the woman who would wear this. This layers amazingly well, try the following: Bath and Body Works Covered in Roses. Very feminine. The roses make it less voluptuous, and it is undeniably sexy. Sol De Janerio Cherosa 59. This was beautiful. The powdery violet softens Le Belle. It’s still feminine but gentler and rounder. Like 1940’s pinup girl instead of a burlesque dancer. Unfortunately you will have to reapply Cheirosa 59. Kayali Vanilla 28. Really amped up the vanilla and made it more of a focal point. You can not go wrong with this combination.

@NatureMman1, this is already out in many countries so BenBnBe does not know “too much”, he/she is just posting a review of a perfume he/she has already smelled. And I must say I agree with it all, this is indeed delicious. I appreciate the original classique and many of its flankers, but I have to say that this is probably my favourite of them all. The opening is my favourite part. The juicy pear note is to die for. Come to think of it this could have been released as the female counterpart to Ultra Male, with the pear in the forefront. This becomes sweeter as it develops and the mid is still good but not necessarily great.. Then when it dries down it again becomes fantastic, but in a completely different way from the opening. At dry down this has turned into a pure vanilla scent, but truly one of the most beautiful vanillas I have smelled in a while. A true vanilla pod. The development of this perfume is really interesting. It changes so much from the opening to the drydown, it’s like three scents in one. Many hours after I sprayed it on in store I kept getting whiffs of this really stunning vanilla scent and was wondering where on earth it could be coming from, not realizing straight away that it was me still smelling La Belle that had now morphed into a completely different scent. All in all I really really like La Belle and think it is full bottle worthy for sure.

I heard a rumor La Belle had been reformulated recently. I have an almost empty bottle from 2022, it’s the love of my life. I quickly ordered a new La Belle direct from the JPG website, it was delivered yesterday... I am sad to report that it’s dead, they murdered a beautiful thing. The bottle now looks cheap with the sloppiest looking gold flowers around the neck (I wish I could upload a pic to show how ugly the flowers are now). The new reformulated La Belle is underwhelming to say the least, weaker than the OG & doesn’t last nearly as long. It has that generic playdoughy base note that all perfumes seem to have these days... The OG was beast mode in the most beautiful feminine way, with amazing sillage all day long, and you could still smell it on skin the next day - on clothes for several days. I’m literally on the verge of tears rn. Why do they have to destroy everything sacred in the fragrance world? Literally FFKK THE SHAREHOLDERS 🖕🏼 I’m at a [severe] loss, what can be done? Mon Guerlain went to sh*t too. Everything is so corporatized now. Very sad world we live in for a fragrance head these days 😞💔 To the OG La Belle: I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU FOREVER. I will cherish my memories with you & cherish the last few drops I still have left of you. 💘 RIP La Belle ☠️✌🏼

This is my fav night-out now and perhaps a recuring signature scent for the late evening and night. For me, this is my go-to scent whenever I want to have a cosy night at the Bar for drinks and late dinner outings. I need to have more opportunities to wear this scent, I truly love it. Its sweet, fruity, sexy, boozy and its giving a sort of a classic and sophisticated vibe. Even with its sweetness, it does not feel too juvenile. The sweetness I get is something more rich and grown up rather than something playful or loud. I got this as a gift and was initially worried it might be too synthetic. But after testing it and leaving it alone for a while... I now reach for it more often. I do understand why some may not like this scent overall, but at the end of the day, people like what they like, and this was a win for me. Its longevity works great when sprayed on clothes. I can STILL smell it on my coat, and it’s been weeks. A little spray of this is quite enough, because honestly the sillage for this perfume is in fact strong for me. A little goes a long way.

Honest Review: Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle Initial Impression: At first spritz, my nose is attacked by spice & powdery notes! Ohhh. A bit ‘ouch’ & can be headache inducing at first. Then a splash of water & the most juiciest pear comes through! Oh, I love. Non gourmand. Dry Down: After a few hours on my skin, this still smells like spice, pear & powdery notes. I only ever so slightly get subtle hints of vanilla, wood and amber. Very much a powerhouse type of perfume. Non gourmand. Application: I apply a few spritzes to my pulse points and that lasts me the whole day. I am still able to smell Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle on my jackets days later. I envision a confident women in her late 20s+ wearing this perfume on a day where she wants to be the ‘one’ in the room full of people. Very much gives me ‘dark feminine’ energy. Hope this helps! ❤️ Update: Guys and gals... this definitely leans gourmand to me now! The spicy note is no longer there. I guess it’s aged well. Lol. Absolutely delicious!

the first time I ever smelt this perfume was in the airport on a departure to lanzarote, I saw it again in a shop out there, and the entire vacation it was all I thought about. immediately from smelling the scent I was obsessed with the way its a balance of gourmand, floral and musk. I got it for my birthday in december of 2025, and have used it religiously since! the scent is fantastic for fall/winter months and is one of my most complimented perfumes, not to mention that it lasts a rather long time, and is pretty strong. I’d say my favourite part of this perfume is the way the scent opens with a strong air of pear but gradually the dry down brings the vanilla, tonka bean, and musk scents—and these work well with your natural pH to adapt the scent beautifully, and ensure it isn’t too overpowering in terms of bergamot and jasmine; but keep the soft creaminess and depth. absolutely my number one recommendation and choice!

I completely lost my mind tonight. I've had it on my right wrist for four hours, and I sprayed it on my left wrist just twenty minutes ago. The dry-down is beautiful, but the opening is just as mesmerizing. It's like wearing two different perfumes, and I can't decide which version I love more. The moment I sprayed it, I suddenly felt like becoming a belly dancer. This is the definition of a signature scent. But it's not a fragrance every woman can carry. It demands confidence, personality, and a certain presence. I'm deeply in love with layered fragrances. The ones that slowly transform into something entirely different as the hours pass always feel more mysterious and alluring to me. Givenchy L'Interdit is another perfume that gives me the same feeling.This is definitely a fragrance for brunette girls.It's magnetic.

This is soooo good! I knew JPG was good, but the quality of this is really superb. As others have mentioned, it opens with a lovely caramelized pear; not green, fresh-off-the-tree pear, but more of a pear tart. Personally, I don't notice the leather much, though I always seem to struggle to distinguish middle notes, so that could be a me problem. But after about 4 hours, I start to really notice the vanilla. I don't see this listed, but I get a lovely cinnamon, warm-spicy note on the dry down too. Perfect for warming up a chilly autumn day! I'm not usually huge on fruity perfumes, but this one feels more grown up than others I've tried. It's got a refined, elegant quality to it, and I don't think I've ever had a fragrance I've spent the whole day so obsessively smelling on myself. Amazing amazing amazing!

Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle is absolutely beautiful and one of my favorites. The pear and vanilla combination really does its job perfectly, creating a warm, smooth, and slightly sweet gourmand scent. It feels grown-up and sensual, leaning into a sweet gourmand direction without becoming childish or overwhelming. To me, it works best for cooler evenings, where its warmth and sweetness can really shine. The only downside is performance — like many fragrances on my skin, it tends to fade fairly quickly, so reapplication is needed throughout the day. I also own La Belle Flower Edition, which is much more powdery and floral in comparison, offering a softer and more delicate take on the original DNA. It was a blindbuy and I'd give it 9/10.

omfggg I LOVE this perfume. Initially I was scared it would not appeal to me as I blind bought this fragrance but it actually smells AMAZING. I cant emphasise more how good it is. The bottle I got was quite macerated already so im not sure if it helped with that but it smells beautiful. Definitely elegant and kinda "dark feminine" you could say. And usually I get headaches from certain perfumes (ysl black opium is one of them) but i did not feel that way at all when I tried this. You can definitely smell the pear and the vanilla when you first spray it and when it dries down it smells gourmand but also like you just got out of the shower?? Overall its great. I love it. Not generic too, at least to me.

I love this perfume, its very addictive!! It's sweet (but not cloying), fruity, with a soft to moderate scent depending on the sprays you use. It's versatile, feminine and ultra sexy. I notice a lot of pear, vanilla, and the leather note elevates the fragrance (I don't like perfumes with leather, but it fits very well here, it gives it a different touch and blends very well with the other notes). It's one of the richest pear perfumes I own. but It's not a scent for everyone. I recommend trying it in a store first because, even though it's fruity and sweet, it has that touch of leather that's noticeable and elevates the fragrance. I'll buy it again when I run out. I LOVE it

Recently I’ve been wearing and acquiring some “old” designers...anything over a year old is “old” now with the volume of stuff appearing. I bought this last year for a song. I really enjoy Le Parfum and thought this one was fairly similar. However I’ve found it’s really quite different. I can smell the pillar dna in both but this in the original format (not the new bottle etc) is really good. Not so sweet on my skin, the pear sparkles. I get a good dose of leather and something floral before the musky ambered base comes through. As someone who’s skin mellows most sweetness I don’t find this sickening with my chemistry but I don’t think I’ll wear it in the heat 😁

vanilla candy rock sugar is compared to la belle so so much, but I honestly think vanilla 28 is a much closer scent. I have a super macerated sample of vanilla 28 and when I smell it alongside la belle, they are soooo similar. la belle is much more syrupy and boozier while vanilla 28 has a strong vanilla extract scent. they both smell very sweet and seductive, just one is more sweeter/gourmand than the other (vanilla 28), but I do get that sweet pear pie scent la belle has in vanilla 28. I adore la belle much more as it's a more sophisticated scent to me and vanilla 28 is way sweeter, and of course, la belle's bottle is so perfect & tea.

This is a lovely, sweet, poached pear with vanilla syrup. It's a bit fresh but not "clean". The pear is just as perfect as in the Le Parfum, but less intoxicatingly sweet and heavy. It's fine for hot/humid weather as long as one doesn't overspray. Can't complain about anything, this is perfection. Worth the price too, which is uncommon with designer fragrances. The leather concerned me before smelling it, but it's not noticeable. Perhaps it's blending in with the pear and vanilla and other notes. The pear isn't as pure and fresh as in Ariana Grande's --- Is a Woman Perfume. This isn't spicy whatsoever to my nose.

La Belle by JPG feels like slipping into a velvet dress that hugs in all the right places. The first spray is a rush of juicy, caramel-soaked pear with a hint of bergamot; sweet, intoxicating, and almost edible. As it warms on my skin, the vanilla and amber wrap around me like a golden glow, while a touch of vetiver and musk adds just enough depth to keep it from being too innocent. This perfume lasts all day on me (easily eight hours) with a trail that makes people lean in and ask what I’m wearing. Every time I wear it, I feel magnetic, feminine, and a little dangerous, like I could get away with anything.

My husband bought this for me and insisted that I doused myself in it because it, “smells like heaven”. Belle is beautiful, a refreshing, energetic and youthful gourmand. It kind of resembles a delicious cocktail since the vibe is fun, playful and flirtatious. The vetiver adds a smoky contrast to the soft vanilla and pear, which adds a slightly masculine punch to an otherwise very polar feminine character. It’s very versatile and has a good projection and longevity. Imagine you are on holiday drinking a vanilla pear ice cream soda and someone is smoking shisha remotely in the background.

I've heard before that this was one of the sweetest perfume in existence. Yesterday I was at a mall and I sprayed it on a test strip to try and yesss, it is very sweet but I thought not my cup of tea, basically pear with very sweet vanilla. I did not realise that I got some on one of my fingers spraying it and it lingered around me all day long after washing my hands multiple times. At around seven pm we got to the car and my husband said something is very very sweet on you. And today I'm missing the scent so I'm buying a travel size of this at least!

I got it yesterday from a miniatures set alongside with 3 other scents and this was my favorite out of them. I haven't tested out the longevity and it currently seems as if it doesn't stay long on my wrist yet I haven't used in a proper amount so im not sure. It reminded me of good girl which was my signature scent a few years back. Overall I like this perfume it smells feminine , floral , a bit sweet , a bit fresh which makes this fragrance likable by most people. The name of this fragrance is fitting , it smells beautiful.

It's a love 💖🍐🍦This smells like a caramelized pear and vanilla dessert fresh out of the oven. It's an incredible and a unique gourmond. It smells warm and edible. This is strictly a cold weather fragrance imo. I wore it in the summer, and the summer heat and humidity made the fragrance overbearing and thick. Moderate to long lasting. Can induce headaches if you are sensitive to fragrance. Probably not appropriate for closed spaces, ie. Airplanes, doctors offices or indoor crowds due to the thick syrupyness of this perfume.

I was shopping for a perfume with my husband and was tossing up between this and Scandal. My husband loved the smell of Scandal and that’s the one we ended up walking out with but this one was my pick. I ended up buying it a month later because I couldn’t forget it, it’s my favourite. I find it so alluring and definitely sophisticated, an unconventional vanilla which I love. I’ll be buying another few bottles because I need it in my life. Interestingly hubby always leans in when I have this on.

The instant I smelled this perfume I fell in love with it. The layers of this perfume are so intricate and well thought of. when you first smell this scent, it starts if with a sweet smell, but then it settles into a vanilla warm spicy scent with a hint of the pear which is absolutely divine. I am in love and the longevity is insane. I have never smelt anything like this perfume and can confidently say that this perfume takes top 5 for me

my first ever jpg fragrance and i’m in love. i wore this on my high school graduation 2 years ago and i got so many compliments , still do also. fruity vanilla with a hint of floral , so sexy and flirty. performs well in hot summer weather , which is why i prefer to wear it only during that season. love when it macerates as well , the color gets a bit darker , into this light brown color. it would also look cute on a vanity as well.

I love this perfume so much, I used to own the original le perfum version and loved that but there was something about it that put me off a little. This perfume smells the same as that but without whatever was in the other version that I didn’t like. This is very similar to Kayali vanilla candy rock sugar but I think this is better, the notes blend together better and I just feel like the kayali is kind of screechy.

This is such a heavenly scent! It's very similar to the Le Parfum version just more sweeter and less spicy. I have gotten quite a few compliments while wearing this fragrance and it is most definitely a somewhat beast mode scent and I smell it on myself all day. My only complaint is that I got the newer bottle version and not the OG bottle with the much prettier flowers on it, other than that this is a must buy!

Very sexy and sweet fragrance. It wows me in a different way to clasique. They are very different with La belle being a very sweet fruity sexy fragrance were as clasique is a vintage powdery more savory sexy fragrance but both have that wow factor, they are both ultra feminine. I love the combination of notes in here, the sweet mouthwatering sugary pear mixed with floral notes leather and better is to die for.

This perfume is SO SWEET. I feel like I'm covered in sugar-crusted rose petals when I wear it. It's not quite gourmand thanks to the floral notes, but man it is a syrup bomb. I can't wear it in the summer, winter time only. If you're on board with the sweetness, it has so much depth though, a really gorgeous smelling perfume. Just be careful when you spray it, the juice is dark and it WILL stain your clothes.

my favourite cold autumn-winter perfume. wouldnt say its gourmand, only because of vanilla, but for me its more like elegant vanilla. Pear adds the sweetness , im not sure if its gourmand either. Well leather+vanilla+vetiver gives absolute elegance. If elegance was a perfume it would be Jean Paul Gaultier la belle. i dont know about bergamot and floral notes, maybe sometime it appears. signature!

I love this fragrance. A fruity opening that is surprising that turns into a warm, ambery, lightly leather scent. It's sexy and deep and downright sinful. When I first experienced the opening I thought "oh no" however after it's macerated the pear is slightly boozy and wonderful. If you want to dip your toes into a leather scent without being too masculine, this is a wonderful way to do it!

Really syrupy and comforting. Smells like expensive jam. Only have the miniature and to me it is a bit too pricey to purchase a whole bottle. It does smell great but I personally don't think this scent is distinct and unique enough to get the full size flacon. I do love it though. It's a great flirty date night scent. Sweet without feeling too heavy and powdery without being too 'mature'.

OMG, I’m absolutely in love! I had so many doubts before placing the order, but it turned out to be the best decision. The fragrance is sweet yet perfectly balanced in every way. From the very first spray, I was hooked. The bottle is stunning too—so elegant and beautiful. Truly amazing. Highly recommended! I’m a huge fan of Prada Paradoxe Intense, and I love this one just as much.

SO good. theres something about this perfume that just makes me get riled up YES LAWDDD. MUST repurchase. omg i love. and has an amzing scent trail and longevity. this scent genuinely fills up the whole room must repurchase. if someone walked past me wearing this perfume i would genuinely ask for their hand in marriage. wear this if you want to get laid and flipped like a pancake

Definitely a must have in my collection during the winter. It’s sweet, not in a cloying but in a warm, cosy way. I like vanilla and sweet perfumes overall, but can sometimes get nauseous when perfume is way too sweet, juvenile and has nothing that balances out the sweetness. I do not feel like that with this one. One of my favorite winter perfumes this far!

This is an IT GIRL perfume! It speaks volumes of the quality of this perfume that I repurchased after using up TWO travel sizes. I feel that it would pair beautifully with some of the salted caramel/pistachio scented lotions that have been popular lately due to the Sol de Janeiro craze. I get compliments on her and I also can't stop sniffing myself!

Another favourite. My first date/night perfume. Longevity, projection and sillage are beats-mode, on me at leats. The pear, the bergamot, the vanilla and amber such a good combination of notes, those are i can mostly smell. It was a blind-buy, my most successful yet, most of them are regrets. But not this one. Also the presentation is so beautiful.

One of my most favourite perfumes❤️❤️ simply a masterpiece of sensuality and femininity. Opens with a burst of fresh juicy pear giving instant youthful vibe which quickly turns into sensual vanilla and woods that lasts forever!! Pear is still present in the background well blended with leather and musk, giving this mysterious woman vibe. Love it❤️

This fragrance has me in a chokehold but I do find I become nose blind to it rather quickly but it’s my favorite and that’s saying a lot because I have an extensive collection of mostly niche fragrances but this one turns heads and gets me compliments. One of my favorites forever! I got a backup bottle because I need this I use it a lotttt!!!

It's very syrupy sweet, like candy and has a sort of "fizziness" like a fruit salad that's been in the fridge and has started to ferment just a tiny bit and has that "sparkling" quality. The more it dries down the more the vanilla comes forward. It's very pretty. The leather and vetiver make it interesting but are not highly prominent.

This is one of my all time fav perfumes, hands down. I live in a hot humid environment & enjoy wearing this every summer. I heard a rumor they reformulated La Belle & if that’s true I’m gonna lose my sheet bc my bottle is almost empty & I cannot survive without my La Belle. The best I can describe this scent is "sexy rockstar girlfriend in New York." It smells seductive but not too mature; it's playful, but has these notes of edge due to the leather, vetiver, and musk. The notes of vanilla, pear, and bergamot linger all day for me and I've noticed it even lingers the morning after. So so sexy and sweet!

This has become one of my new favourite fragrances. The initial smell is like juice, sweet but not overpowering, and after hours of wearing it, it becomes this nice deep vanilla. I really like this perfume if you couldn’t tell, it’s such a good scent for everyday and date night wear. I’d say that this is blind buy safe.

i’ve had this for a few years and i love it! i used to only wear it on winter holidays and on nights out, but in moderation it can also make for a cozy winter/fall daytime scent. ever since i started wearing it my sisters and their friends have all started wearing it too, so it’s definitely a crowd pleaser :)

I remeber watching a review for this perfume saying that it smells like the sugar on a cocktail glass and i couldnt agree more. Its a addicting fruity sugary smell, that when dried down reminds me of valentino donna ivory. Im not a huge fan of vanilla fragrances but this is such a feminine and cute scent!!

A stunning scent. If sweet and sexy is your vibe, you should love this! Just wondered whether the newer bottles with the different flowers mean the formula has been reformulated as it was with the Le Parfum version, or is it the same perfume as before? Would hate the think they'd change this one too!

Used to be my signature scent, but i got tired of this. Definitely very sexy, strong and feminine scent. Right now this place in my collection is replaced by Vanilla 28, which has same notes, but little bit different. I would say i consider buying La Belle second time, but maybe trying out Le Parfum.
