Le Male Aviator

This is my last buy of 2021. It's a blind buy and surprisingly not disappointed. I actually gave this a few try before giving my review. Firstly I was very interested in the notes listed here on fragrantica and someone pointed out the official notes are different. Interesting. Secondly I'm really a fan of green and minty notes. Like many reviewers have pointed out, it really opens up to a fresh minty sweet scent. It does smells familiar to something you've smelled before... It does reminds me of Givenchy Gentleman. I'm not sure why.. I compared the notes and both are totally different. It also reminds me of mint tic tac. Really hope there can be more mint. Overall I do feel Le Male Aviator, though not groundbreaking, does smells pleasant and nice and is slowly developing somehow. I find myself constantly sniffing myself nonstop. Also, I do love the frosted dark green bottle.

Aviator smells a lot like On Board but Aviator is a tad more heavy for fall and winter, while On Board is a fresh-er spring and summer friendly. I would not use aviator during summer, you can choke people nearby. The mint is bright in Aviator and it take a while to fade. Even after some good coulpe hours, at the wood-base notes that are left, the tendency is the same, On Board has a lighter amber and Aviator has a heavy-er wood note. But THE main difference is the strong mint in Aviator and the fresh geranium in On Board. Also, Aviator lasts longer than On Board, most probably due to its non fresh nature and colder weather orientation. Edit: I used it today, sprayed a good couple sprays, and by hour 10 I could still smell it when making movements, and now even after 12 hours, I can still smell it on my skin. This was a "warm" sunny winter day.

I'm not a fan of the trend of companies listing one note for each of the three categories (top, middle,base) but in this one case it kind of work. The disclosure of the mint indicates the freshness of this green fragrance. The violet leaf lets the wearer know that this green fragrance has a floral aspect to it. The woodsy notes confirm what we all pretty much suspect, that this will dry down into a woodsy scent. If I were to describe this fragrance it would be a a fresh green and floral fragrance with a woodsy dry down. For once I agree with the less is more approach in listing note breakdown. I think there is lavender in this but it's mostly masked by the violet leaf. This is a nice casual scent, good for the office as well. It doesn't project well but lasts long enough so that anyone leaning in towards you will pick up this pleasing scent.

I can tell you with certainty this is the Le male release worth getting your nose on. The last few have been less that appealing to me. The top notes here are stunning. Created to be a brighter Le male with bergamot mint, and fruity melon undertones The mid is mass appealing i admit with tonka being the main player but its nicely done compared to much of what's available which unfortunately seems to be everyones go to generic note i like the tonka mid here its more interesting and has a spicier vibe. The sandalwood and geranium i get in the dry down is just as nice as the top notes. I enjoy it and will probably get a full bottle before it gets reformulated already HAHA

Wow a pleasant surprise. The violet note is very strong here, and is a freshier take specially compared to Ultra Male. It's not that unique, but it doesn't pass as forgettable either, i can see this being a compliment getter. I'd say this is closest to Le Male Le Parfum than it is to Ultra Male, but only on the idea behind it, not the scent itself. It smells more mature and classy just like Le Parfum. I can definetly see the comparison between this and CH Men, they are similar but not identical. I would pick this over CH Men though, as it feels more modern and refined. Overall, not groundbreaking but you will most likely turn heads while wearing this.

I smell no mint or violet because those are two of my most hated fragrance notes and I love this stuff. It’s sweet greens 🥬 it smells just like ch men and that is one of my all time favorite fragrances. I was saying I needed a backup bottle of ch men so I’ll always have it even though mine is still pretty full. But this will be my summertime nighttime ch men and I’ll use ch men for spring nights. I’m glad I got a sample I wasn’t going to give it a try because of the bad reviews but I understand why they hate on this cause they hate on ch men but haters gonna hate

As someone who generally dislikes designer/tonka/coumarin perfumes this is quite enjoyable. It has a burst of freshness and dries down sweet but nothing suffocating. I think the longevity is higher than what's suggested on Fragrantica due to (relatively) the small number of votes at the moment. I get about 6-7 hours. Paid quite little for my bottle and I like it for the money! I think it should be 60% less than its retail price to be perfect.

In my opinion this perfume/cologne/fragrance is perfect in every way it dosent smack you in the face with power but it’s longevity is amazing this perfume/cologne/fragrance is a solid 10/10 would most certainly recommend it and it’s is currently available as of making this comment on fragrancebuy.ca for 51$ us so I’d buy it now for the price it’s at

This is not what it first seems. A very strange beast. Smells modern and sharp. Not that good upclose at first, but a great sillage monster reveals itself in the hours after. Longevity is crazy, I smelled it the next day as a lingering ghost that reminded me again and again that it’s present still.

This fragrance is really nice. It's got a very pleasant violet note, which i find to be quite prominent throughout the entire lifespan. It almost has a bit of a "perfumey", feminine vibe from the violet, but still a nice smell for a man. My wife likes this one on me.

Le Male Aviator is so underrated in my opinion ... This scent is quite simple but so delicate. It's one of my favourite flanker of Le Male. It's not overpriced so it really worth it. I love this one, in spite of the moderate longevity.

Don't believe everyone's thought on this fragrance it smells like bubblegum from a bubblegum machine to me. Its good , fresh , minty and sweet. Good fragrance for day wear and gym

They’re charging 200 usd for this. Not worth it, it’s a just a pleasant but medioker flanker.

First, some notes above are certainly missing. Second, although not my favorite Le Male flanker...I certainly enjoy this during spring/early summer. Opens with a strong fresh blast violet leaf. I really enjoy this note, so this fresh green opening is really nice. As it quickly dries, this has to have geranium note in it...or something similar. It gives off a sweet combo of violet leaf and what I think is geranium. It retains this for awhile as a masculine woods come forth. Only until a full work day later, does it get into a more creamy DNA (think sandalwood/vanilla), but by then it’s a skin scent you have to bury your nose into to detect. If this final dry down showed up much sooner...like in place if the harsher masculine woods, this would be a love for me. Projection on me is slightly above average...longevity is a full work day. Versatility is average...best for spring/early summer. Certainly masculine...particularly the dry down. Overall, I’m really happy with it. Nice little addition to the line. You really have to like violet leaf to enjoy this. Sample before purchasing bottle.

The notes on here are incorrect/incomplete. I do not like the opening of this, at least in colder weather. On paper, it's a nice fresh spicy green opening, on my skin it's heavy vegetation. Like putting my nose in something earthy and dark green. Luckily that goes away and the drydown is surprisingly nice. If you find a bottle for cheap (or free like I did) it's probably worth it. I feel like it's a decent spring or early autumn day scent, just before the leaves turn. But it's ultimately pretty boring. So unless you collect the series or enjoy a vegetation opening that settles into a nice minty-woodsy scent, I'd probably pass on it.

So I just recieved my decant/sample in the mail today and here is my very quick, honest OPINION of this fragrance. Does it smell good? : Yes Is it unique? : No Would I buy a full bottle? : If the price is right. To the collectors out there, this isn't going to blow you away. However I think the "average" person would find this pleasant and would think it smells good however this will not be a unique scent in your collection. I'm digging the olive drab/military design of this tho....

Worn this for 2 days straight. Had to respray after 3/4 hours just for my own personal benifit. It’s a pleasent woody,slightly minty sweet fragrance to start off with then the mid to dry down is fairly generic all the way through this is a pleasent scent for daily use mainly. Spring in the U.K. or Autum. Projects 2hrs then becomes a skint scent. If it was stronger in projection and longevity this could’ve been a great buy instead of dumb reach daily frag

Fresh, green, minty and sweet. Definitely smells like things you've smelled before but still, this is a good fragrance, and it'll have its place on my Spring 'dumb reach'-shelf. In general, I feel that the latest le Male flankers are being slept on - they're all decent to good. Maybe it's just the 'le Male' brand fatigue doing JPG no favours.

a lot of mint. balsamic to the limit of toothpaste smell. may like it, but I don't. so I suspend my vote as it is a good perfume but not in my strings.similar to original but more minty.

Smells very similar to On Board, but dries down woody

Let’s get one thing out of the way: Le Male Aviator is not a bad fragrance. It smells fine. But that’s exactly the problem — it doesn’t smell great, interesting, or unique. It smells like... nothing special. This flanker comes off like a half-hearted attempt at freshness. You get a whiff of something green, something aromatic, maybe a whisper of tonka, and then? That’s it. It crashes mid-flight. There’s no real evolution, no twist, no character arc. It’s one-dimensional, like a watered-down version of the original Le Male stripped of its personality. Honestly, it feels like it was rushed through development. It lacks depth, complexity, and any kind of signature. You’d think a flanker named Aviator would soar, but this one doesn’t even take off. It smells like a generic “fresh and sweet” scent made solely to be a dumb reach — spray and go, no thought, no identity. And don’t even get me started on longevity. For something in the Le Male line, known for beast mode performance, this one performs like it's in economy class. It barely lasts 3-4 hours on skin, and projection dies down quickly. You’ll forget you’re wearing it by lunchtime. Out of all the Le Male flankers in my collection, Aviator is by far the weakest. Not offensive, not daring, just... boring. If you’re building a collection, skip this one unless you're filling space.

smells like leaf water with a woody vanilla undertone. the mint is not noticeable at all, or maybe its the leafy type of mint, not the cooling fresh kind.

Sampled it today, in a department store. Here's my impression. Interesting opening, reminiscent of the original, but updated, like it's trying to catch up with the new designer releases (woody, spicy) of today. But (always wait for that but) it settles very quickly into a soft (and familiar) skin-scent, something that you'll forget you are even wearing in a couple of hours time. People are going to be disappointed with this one, unfortunately, and the weakness of the scent will be the main complaint. If you want the best from JPG go for Ultra Male. It's in a different league to this one.

@ilovespain2009 sorry, but i'm entitled to have my opinion just like you. and yes, i have tried this fragrance and it's a "meh" for me, nothing more, even that i used to like gaultier fragrances. and who cares what you think about my collection? are you butthurt? sorry, to say that but you sound like a niche snobbish person who despises other perfume lovers based on their collection. by the way, let people have their own opinion and let them decide what they respect or not.

I tried today in Hungary (Müller), I can tell that the top is not a new experience to my nose, because it reminds me of D&G homme/CH men, the drydown is fresher mass and nothing unique, after 3-4 hours I can't recognise it, just a chemical mass, doesnt sweet as Ultra male or Popeye and it radiates less, I dont like it, big skip.

Is it good? : Well, its ok. Is it unique? : No. Worth for full bottle? : No. Then, why did I buy? : To complete my Le Male collection.

Despite it is a limited edition released, it smells very generic and boring. Nothing special and better option out there.

I have never been a fan of the Le Male line and this doesn’t change my mind. Does it smell good? Yes but, it’s not unique to me. I think this whole line line is geared to the under 20 crowd which is fine for those buyers. It would be a boring world if we all had the same taste and opinions.

I am a huge fan of the Le Male line. Not every release, but the big 3(Le male, ultra male, popeye)... Le Male Aviator is "Ch Men" meets "Parfums de Marly Pegasus" Good fragrances in their own right and an interesting combo I think this one could be a grower not a shower, you'll find yourself liking it. It smells familiar, and nothing like what the notes or name would suggest. It smells very, very similar to CH Men in the opening. Then to my surprise, in the dry down, it morphs into PdM Pegasus??...Idc what the official notes say, I'd be shocked if heliotrope wasn't in the base. It's a little green, soft and very sweet. BUT then it turns to that fluffy, metallic, sweet almond smell that is unique to heliotrope...There's nothing to not like, the transformation is interesting...but it probably won't blow your mind if you've already smelled Pegasus and CH Men... I think they really missed an opportunity to make a unique fragrance that relates to the name. With the name Aviator, I think: jet fuel, leather jacket, fast, loud, confident... Think of a newer take on Fahrenheit with a leather vibe...All under the Le Male DNA umbrella? I want that fragrance lol Anyways, not bad but not great. Smells like other things...FRAG COMM will poo-poo it but most people will like it.

Official fragrance notes; Bergamot Violet leaf Geranium Tonka bean Sandalwood Tried this today and upon initial spray I thought 'wow this is soft!' However a short while later it seems grow in strength. I'm not the biggest fan of the original Le Male and I do get some of that vibe here for sure but this is a more modern beast in my opinion. I get a slightly boozy vibe and there does seem to be something minty, more than just the geranium which can sometimes be responsible for that. I'm not sure what to make of this release but it seems decent enough to me without really winning me over (yet?). Between this and Essence du Male for example I would definitely go with Essence even if I find it kind of an acquired taste and not too versatile (more interesting to me). This one seems to be playing things a lot safer, but then some people are looking for precisely that kind of scent. Thanks for reading :) UPDATE: 30/01/2020 ; very pleasant dry-down, thumbs up from me, lasts well on my skin too.

This puppy smells like Gentleman Givenchy EdT in the opening, CH Men in the mid and CH Men + Versace Eros in the drydown. So nothing new under the sun. Basic, generic, car interior deodorizer type of smell. Modest performance, although on a tester strip it lasts. On my skin: 4-5 (really pushing 6) hrs longevity 1-2 hrs projection 1-2 hrs sillage You can find many other fragrances competing with this one in the same league: Versace Eros, Azzaro Wanted, Gentleman Givenchy and even the reformulated CH Men by Carolina Herrera. I'm not talking about performance, only about DNA. I would buy it for the bottle though. Update: The drydown is pretty nice. I get a green apple and a minty-mojito type of note.

The fragrance community is quite confusing sometimes..I don’t understand how CH men is praised/loved by almost everyone who knows of it but this fragrance is somehow “Generic” and “boring” ? I own both bottles and most the time forget which one is which while wearing it. so to anyone reading this, don’t listen to those reviewers and just give it a try for yourself because you may like it and even if you don’t..one day it’ll be worth more than you paid considering it’s discontinued ✍️ You’re welcome lol

A HUGE fan of the Le male line here. I am greatly disappointed with this new release (and with the previous one and the previous one) Since Gaultier is distributed by Puig, everything has gone from bad to worse, the only launch of Le Male decent with this distributor has been Le Male Popeye (and / or Superman), the rest absolute disappointments. I'll not buy it, I don't understand why they have ended up making these perfumes, empty of soul and cheap :(

The scent is new.... the real notes will reveal themselves as it’s release becomes completely public.... it’s a way to tease the fragrance community... I’d do that to tempt consumers..... even tho the total note listing is never fully revealed for any fragrance in risk of copying.... let the companies have their secrets

Le Male meets CH Men. It's pretty decent but Trussardi My Land is another good choice for a cheaper option. This at least smells pretty good but has a strange fuzziness to the cashmere wood. Performance is alright but this is sadly a bit forgettable. If you have CH Men or My Land this might be redundant...

Aside the fact that it smells 90% like CH Men, Mugler Amen Ultimate and Le Male on Board, it smells extremely good!! The dry down has tonka notes (and probably vainilla as well) that are not declared here on Fragrantica, which give it a sweet touch that is very pleasant!!!

I smelled this in Spain, shopping mall called El Corte Ingles in Valencia. It is a totally light generic fragnance, nothing compared to Male/Ultra Male/Le beau/Essence de Parfum. Such a shame that this smell is so 'normal, light soapy'

I have the airlines EDT version had no idea they were the same thing. I own Bentley intense and it smells 90% same with added vanilla and a touch of cardamom. I really like it.

Ok for those giving an ok review let me say is an Amazing cologne! Smells amazing, is very strong and keeps projecting after hours, I think is one my fav from JPG!

Dont like it and def regret blindbuying it. Like most of the Le Male lineup is smells semi feminine from the violet and mint is nowhere to be found. Pass for me

Crazy scent last so long and projection is insane for me last longer then the elixir and le male le parfum , smells sweet
