Le Mâle Eau Fraîche André Edition

This is amazing, to me this is to the Le Male line what Allure Homme Sport is to the Allure Homme line from Chanel in that it basically takes the original, makes it airier and adds a dominant citrus off the top. This might actually be my favorite of the Le Male line, I've only rated this as a "Like", but it could very easily end up being a love because I definitely do really enjoy this one. I think it's a year round fragrance because it has that OOMPH that's required to cut through the cold, but it's also nice, airy, citrusy and refreshing in a way that makes it perfectly viable for even the hottest summer days which is also reminiscent of Allure Homme Sport. No idea how long this is going to last year, but it seems like it's going to be strong, usually I can tell about how long it's going to go but sometimes a fragrance will just kind of pack up and leave after a few hours even when it starts off really strong. I don't think this one is going to do that though, JPG is a really solid designer house and they traditionally don't let me down with the performance of their frags. I think you can wear this to the office or you can wear it out on a more casual summer daytime date or something like that. I also think this would be an amazing beach fragrance. Get this if you really like things like Allure Homme Sport, Versace Pour Homme and YSL L'Homme and if you just like bright, happy smelling fragrances if that makes any sense. Was able to get this for about $60 which is amazing for this, I would pay for this up to $100 but not more than that. I think this is supposed to be more or less the same as the other Eau Fraiche Le Male fragrances that cost way more, so just skip those unless you need to add them to your collection and try to find a deal on this one.

Batch 80452 (Feb 2018) Rewriting review, April 15, 2023 Please disregard my previous review as I haven't tried it enough to write full-review. JPG Le Mâle Eau Fraîche André Edition is Aldehydic rich fragrance. Resulting in Laundry-like clean fresh, with mild vanilla-sweet undertone. However, this is quite special as it has creamy/smooth touch so it become soft of Fabric softener smelling, the develop is linear It just become Powdery vanilla overtime. As above statement is might turn you-off. This is very pleasant on skin. As this is quite unique scent profile that quite hard to find in other fragrance. The closest thing I can possible think off is Perfum de marlays Galloway. which smell like Bleach (Aldehyle-Iris-Musk), this is special in it own right as it has (Aldehyde-Vanilla-Powdery) which head differently than Galloway. This is perfect for your Casual day / weekend. This is smell sweet, clean and inoffensive. No, this is doesn't have strong LeMale or Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme DNA. I still rate this 9/10 and it is perfect for day-off, clean skin scent. Dry down further to clean woody. Not excatly the same with AHSEE, this feel a knot tricker than AHSEE in my opinion. But same vibe. I think this serve as Syntetic fragrance in its finest form. The original Le Male is not one I've ever owned, and it never particularly excited me when I smelt it on other people. However I have recently become interested in some of the flankers in the line, since I bought by first one, which was Essence de Parfum. I have bought four since then and this is the latest as I was intrigued by the love that Superman and Popeye got, back in the day and still seem to despite being discontinued. When I discovered that this one was essentially the same, but apparently projects better, I thought I'd get hold of a bottle. I'm pleased I did, as I like sweet scents and this is very sweet and synthetic smelling, but once it settles after about 5 mins, it is amazing. As a musician, I tend to weigh up scent in a similar way to sounds, ie. treble/bass. This is definitely treble heavy as the mint and bubblegum vibes make it quite bouncy. It seems to project well too. I think this would ideally be suited to spring/early summer as it might be a little cloying for the hot summer weather. For me JPG On Board is better for summer, as it is less sweet and a bit more chilled out and mellow.

It's just same as many other designer frags that have a summer edition, every summer they change bottle, packaging etc. WHO CARES!! If u like the fragrance buy it, if not don't. Some people collect them for bottles, if u think bottles are "Child like" then just ignore them and carry on your way. JPG is not only company doing this, and fact they do, it says it's selling. U know what I don't like, some company making a frag and charging $500-$1000 for it cause of hype..then they also want to charge u $10 for a 1ml sample??? WTF..I gotta pay for the privilege to sample your fragrance?? Shove it! I will buy a knock off for $40 that many people says smells the same. Only people who say Avantus is so much better then armaf clone, are people who bought avantus for huge $$ and don't want to admit it. Anyway I digress..it's just people whining about bottles, and nothing is "original" bother me sometimes. its the "original" niche people that are getting scent free zones implemented everywhere. Rant done..

This is like the light version(eau fraiche) of CAHSEE. Chanel's mandarine is replaced by floral neroli. The creamy vanilla becomes a dusty powdery vanilla here. If you like CAHSEE but want an airy version for summer then this is it. Longevity is also better here lasting 8+ hours albeit as a skin scent vs 6hrs with Chanel when using 4 sprays. Reviews here state it's a minty laundry scent and I wouldn't disagree. Now this may not sound appealing but it is charming in its refreshing and comforting nature. Unfortunately, this has been discontinued and prices are now on par with Chanel. I'd probably rather have CAHSEE instead but it might come down to whichever I can find a better deal on. Hopefully JPG will reissue this again as a new flanker as they have done in the past with Superman, Popeye and this flanker. .

This could be my favourite JPG. Just received it today and wow! Pardon me I've not tried the rest of the Eau Fraiche but this smells so good! I wasn't expecting this at all. Minty laundry scent that is so fresh and addictive that I cannot stop sniffing myself. I really love the mint note here. Do get this if it's still available. Edits: Just some updates. I know JPG Eau Fraiche lines are all discontinued, I've managed to get decants of Airline (I guess Superman and Airline share same notes?) and Popeye. Popeye to me is really much stronger on the amber notes. Airline smells stronger on the aldehydes minty initial spray. Overall, all smells great! I really hope JPG can bring back the Eau Fraiche again.

Le Male Eau Fraiche Andre smells like vanilla-mint-bubblegum fabric softener. Bright, summery, sweet and fresh. Imagine a mix of Versace Eros, Paco Rabanne Invictus and fabric softener. Opens with a blast of bubblegum fabric softener, then transitions to vanilla-mint (very similar to Eros) and then the vanilla, mint, and bubblegum fabric softener dry down together. The aldehydes keep everything smelling so bright and fresh. Along with Ultra Male, this is the best Le Male flanker. An excellent fragrance for spring and summer. Very highly recommended if you like fragrances such as JPG Ultra Male, Amouage Reflection Man and Paco Rabanne Invictus/Aqua.

Recently picked up a bottle that was made in 2018 and was surprised to find that the scent is still as powerful as it was back then. As many have already mentioned, the smell reminds one of clean laundry mixed with notes of vanilla and bubblegum. Yes, it is synthetic smelling, but it's a very pleasant smell that works well in both summer and fall. I've received many compliments from using it both in the past when it originally came out and more recently. P.S. It has been discontinued for quite some time, so if you see a bottle, don't hesitate to pick one up. I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.

This is one of the most bizarre fragrances I own, but not necessarily in a negative way. I found something very interesting for me though. When sprayed on clothing, this smells incredibly like laundry detergent, and yet when sprayed on skin it's not like that at all. Skin vs clothes is gonna be an obvious change for the chemistry but I was genuinely surprised at how different. So I only spray it on skin now, but when I do it's fantastic. Somewhat minty fresh scent, used it for dates or nights out and always does great. Worth the buy if you can find it

Picked this up recently retail for an absolutely fantastic price, I love Le male and ultra male, (which reminds me I need a new bottle of the ultra)... If you love the dna from the others you can't fail to enjoy this one in my opinion, as the name suggests much lighter and fresher than Le male, still recognisable as a flanker though, super minty note that I find extremely refreshing, superb lovegevity and good projection.. I honestly think this would be a good summer frag although some say it's too sweet... need to get a bottle of the essence next

I love this scent DNA. We need JPG to bring this one back. I don't mind what the "Edition" will be. If you find this fresh, a little sweet and minty drydown, and you wish that you need a fresher scent similar to this but less sweet without the mint, you can try mandarina duck cool black. it's like JPG superman, popeye or andre' without the mint and mix it with dior homme 2020's woody freshness. it is actually really good and super underrated. I think that is also discontinued but you can still find it from discounters.

Cool, I knew that it would come around March so I’ve been searching for the new release. This will be purchased, a perfect spring scent for the playful man. Scentwise a 10/10. But smell it as whiffs, not upclose. That’s when it’s 10/10. The most describable way is to say this smells like a fresh subdued le male but with a big bubble gum added, playful and fresh and summery. The gum accord reminds me of Clean men by Clean. Btw what do you mean bergamot.. It’s the same as every year. Its always been mint right?

Wow, what a nice fragrance! As everyone said, this give you that soapy/laundry detergent smell right away but it has also a creamy tonka/sandalwood vibe going on, a little bit sweet but really refreshing at the same time, perfect for summer and spring. If you want something remotely similar to this (50% similarity), the best bet will be Police Potion Power for him, it's the floral less sweeter version of Eau Fraîche basically. I also get the similarity to CAHSEE and Le Male On Board. 8,5/10

Looks exactly the same as Popeye/Superman Eau Fraiche, but with bergamot substituted for mint. Wouldn't be surprised if it's the exact same fragrance with just a different note listed. Also, I really feel bad for the people voting on and/or comparing this fragrance to other fragrances without trying them. I mean, can you imagine being SO bored and low in life that you get kicks out of something as pointless as that? Get a job...get a boyfriend/girlfriend....get a life..get SOMETHING.

Dryer sheet meets Le Male. Yeah, that doesn't sound like a great pairing but it is. Gives the standard le male an airyness making it fresh and uplifting. Longevity is pretty good fir a freshie and I can manage 8+ hours when sprayed on clothing. Projection is pretty good for first few hours too. Looks like JPG killed this on off which is a shame. Wish they would bring this back under a new flanker since they seem to have no issues doing that.

I'd say it's closer to ultra male than Le male, but it is it's own fragrance. geeze, I might have to buy a backup of this as it's discontinued and definitely worthy. edit, incredible longevity, Sprayed a tissue paper and 2 days later it's still strong

seen some people saying it dont last i got 10+ hours out of this 8 sprays Jamaica, on initial spry i wondered if i was gonna get past 2hrs with it but waw, dont now if its the climate but i enjoyed it a lot, got a few complements also, the heart is the le male original DND but very suitable for the current climate I'm in. its a love for me.

To the comment below. I blind bought this a couple of years back, first time sniffing thought the exact same thing. What is all the hype for? So I chalked it up as a loss. Then one day decided to try again , and the more I wore it the more I began to enjoy. Now It has become a love for me, not to mention the unsolicited compliments.

WOW!!! I'm so lucky to have found a bottle of JPG André Eau Fraiche! I traded a bottle of PDM Sedley for this. That's how much I love it. I totally get Chanel AHS Eau Extreme vibes with amped up vanilla (bubblegum) and some spice. Performance for me is about 8 hours on skin. Excellent sillage - full arm length for the first 3 hours.

Minty fresh, sweet and youthful fragrance. I LOVE THIS. Thank god I don't have any performance issue with this. Suitable for young guys but matured guys can definitely give a try. Rating: 10/10 (because the smell is so good and inoffensive and it lasts longer on my body)

It's not too overpriced, okay scent, but not for really hot days (above 90F), I made a mistake, choked myself out. I'd not recommend for summers in tropical countries, but you can go easy on the trigger. I like it but still recommend ppl to look somewhere else...

For whatever reason this masterpiece eau fraiche line has been discontinued permanently it seems like. This last one came out in 2018... Don't get you hopes up for a re-release and hold on to your bottles for dear life.

It is a lighter, fresher, and more wearable version of Le Male. The performance is still off the charts. I can smell it through the mask. Since it is discontinued, it is worth grabbing a bottle.

This is so good one of my favorites. if you can't find it ,check out Ferragamo for men 2020 Edition ,very similar just a little bit more citrus.

Performs much better than I expected. It lasts for full 12 hours with 4 hours of good projection.

Mint-Vanilla fresh daytime Le Male for the summer doldrums, unique and pleasant.

I own the Superman version and I blind purchased the Andre version so I could have a back up bottle of the Superman scent (I love that scent profile so much. It has a fresh bubblegumish metallic vibe which is kind of weird, but it’s extremely nice!!) So I purchased the Andre version in part because all of the reviews I read and watched said that they are both identical (including Popeye), but to my surprise they are not!! At least not the Superman and Andre version. In fact they smell very different from each other that I even doubted for a minute that the Andre bottle I bought was original (obviously it is because of the place I purchased it, and the package was completely sealed). Anyway, Andre doesn’t have the bubble gum nor the metallic notes, instead it has a strong soapy- fabric softener sheet smell, plus it is more sweet and a bit less fresh!! At first I was mad cause’ I didn’t get the same scent that I wanted so badly, but after giving it some time, I can say it actually smells very good too!!! So now I’m happy I own both bottles with 2 scent profiles that are very nice and different from each other!! (Don’t get me wrong, both perfumes have lots of similar notes, but my point is that they’re not identical like everybody says!)

I blind bought this after testing jpg superman at the dep store( they still have a lot in stock). When I sprayed the superman i definitely got that unique lemale Dna in this one so it's definitely a true flanker. I honestly thought when I first smelled it reminded me of lemale amd ultra male a bit but less sweet more fresh. I got a major and I mean major bubblegum vibe. Like it smells like the original lemale but with a fresh minty bubblegum vibe from it I loved it. I went home and went to order online but the warehouse only had this one in stock. So I read and apparently it’s identical to jpg superman. So my jpg I love gaultier arrives and to my surprise I feel it smells slightly different. I can’t be hundred percent but to me this version smells less of a bubblegum minty vibe but has more of a fabric softener vibe. Smells almost identical but less minty bubblegum and more fabric softener. I’m curious if anyone owns both of these and can do a side by side comparison. As I’m curious if they tweeked it or if it was just my nose is catching more the true frag now. And in the store I was not getting 100% just superman

I like it. Too sweet for summer (I wear in in Barcelona, which has hot and high humidity summers). It's just Le Male ADN with a bubblegum mint note around. The combination is nice. Mint makes de scent fresher than Le Male, BUT be careful, cause vanilla and Tonka notes are strong, the perfume's performance is high, and can be excessive for high heat days. I am wearing it in fall, and it fits better for those days. Performance is surprising. It's supposed to be a fresh scent, but it last long, similar to Ultra Male (which is sweeter and stronger with higher silage). Easily I get more than 10 hours.

This is a very fresh fragrance suitable mostly for young people. It smells like bubblegum and fabric softener. It is a great scent, and I sometimes spray it on my arm just to be able to sniff it while I watch TV. It's an often complimented fragrance, when I wear it in public. The top note (mint and fruity bubblegum) is gone within an hour, but the middle note and base note last about 5 hours.

I like it but i like more the original. You will get some mint in the opening then it will dry into sweetish aldehyde smell. The sweetness reminds me more of pear than vanilla. Not a serious smell-good for young people. Longevity is not good-the original will last 3 times more.

Recently got this vintage batch. And loved it. Fresh with jpg dna. Been finding this type of fragrances in jpg line.

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Mâle Eau Fraîche André Edition for men. Begins with notes of neroli, mint and aldehydes. The heart of sage and the Scalene molecule are at the heart of the perfume, on a base of vanilla, tonic bean and sandalwood!! ...It's very similar to Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male for men and Jean Paul Gaultier Popeye for men. The score: Sillage: 7/10 Longevity: 2.5/10 It's Eau Fraîche not Eau de toilette that why?..The smell is so poor longevity...it was gone within just 1 hour!

The heart and drydown of this clearly smells exactly like Kenneth Cole Mankind Hero. This is way too overpriced. Try it first before pulling the trigger of getting a full bottle or better get the Kenneth Cole Mandkind Hero instead its way cheaper and has more character than this.

Okay scent. I get mint the most. Very green and fresh. Aromatic fragrance for sure.

Blast of bubblegum and mint on the opening. But after 5 to 10 minutes its gone. And it becomes a skin scent. I am from India, even in air conditioned room its projection is only for few minutes. Forget sillage. its highly watered down juice with poor performance. Scent 8/10. Performance 1/10. Value for money 3/10. Recommend NO If you want your perfume to be noticed by anyone, please skip this one. No one would be able to pick up any kind of fragrance from you, making it practically useless. its a water in a bottle. Big name with poor quality.

Don’t know why this gets so much love. This stuff is highly synthetic. Not sure what other versions smell like but not for me.

JP Gaultier - Let's have a discussion. The only great thing you had was Le Male and you ruined that by reformulating that into a form of vanilla/lavender water - I recently got my hands on a brand new 2009 bottle and OMG! the dry down was....unreal....the performance, unforgettable. The Summer Eau Fraiche version was cool...3 years later we're still getting them in very child-like bottle versions. Ultra Male was solid...BUT Do you folks ever listen to your consumers, or do ya'll just spend your time walking into the walls everyday at JPG Headquarters? Please come out with a NEW release - not the 200th Le Male flanker or 300th edition bottle change (same watered-down notes). Flatly stated - we consumers and fragrance enthusiasts care very much about what we purchase and what we wear. Maybe you should care about what you create and release??? A thought.

Love wearing this scent. When I heard of the hype of the Popeye edition on YouTube it was discontinued so I checked out the superman version, which I thought was nice but given that everyone was saying that performance was not great on either of those 2 versions I didn’t pick it up. I recently bought this Mr.A version because I saw it for a good price and I can say that I have no issues with the performance of this one, I have to be careful on the number of sprays that I use with this one because it is so potent and has excellent longevity. I can’t compare the scent or performance to the previous editions but I’m happy that I bought this and am really enjoying it

I just sampled this today and believe me when I say I’m glad I didn’t purchase this. I’m glad I didn’t. This starts off with a real sharp detergent type of a vibe such that the only way I can describe its smell if when you accidentally get detergent in your mouth. But each to his own. When I asked those around me to smell this I instantly got compliments hence this is a people pleaser but it’s not something I’d say is worthy of a blind buy. Just like me I’d highly recommend sampling this before you buy since some of you might face the same issue of that strong detergent type of opening smell making you deter off.

Le Male Eau Fraiche by Jean Paul Gaultier is a scent of the combination of sweetness, freshness, flowers and woody notes. From sharpness to gentleness, this is how it presents itself. The sharpness of sage and woody notes is complemented by mint and at the same time, toned down by an unusual, delicate note of bubble gum. Aromatic green notes present in this flanker of Le Male resound for about two hours and then give way to vanillic and ambery base. At this stage, it emanates warmth. Only a strong smell at the place of application of the fragrance allows you to detect the scent of green and woody aromas now.

Just bought this yesterday and it's the first of the Eau Fraiche collection that I have. Before I purchased it, I read many reviews that talk about how the scent is wonderful but the performance is lacklustre, and to be honest, I have to disagree. I wore it today for the first time here in the UK where we are halfway through Spring and it performed really well on me. I got about 6 hours longevity with good projection, so it's definitely outdone my expectations. I'll be looking forward to wearing this on my summer holiday in Greece for sure :)

I love it! A very pleasant aroma that smells amazing in summer. It is quite sweet but not cloying, it is menthol and vanilla but in its proper measure, not excessively and sandalwood is also appreciated. Smells very very good and you don't even need to overspray to smell for hours because the longevity (at least in my skin) is really good to be a eau fraiche. Is the same aroma of Le Male Superman, the same. When I saw the bottle for the first time I didn't like the design at all but now that I have it I like it, is very funny.

Dannngggg, this smells good. I like the iso E in this, smells like a seductive cedar wood smell mixed with that vanilla and mint. It’s a very transparent scent that gives you a nice scent bubble (with 4-5 sprays). People can still notice this around the 5 hour mark. I could smell on my skin faintly after 12 hours. Not bad and this was room temperature. I expect this to project better in high heat (just bought it today).

Got this today on the mail. The hype about this item is something I can not understand. Obviously it has the La Male DNA but, here the Nose decided to give it a sugar-mint smoothie twist to it. Is not a bad fragrance at all but it is highly forgettable though. I'll be getting rid of this and be done with it.

Finally found this one after a year of searching. Ended up paying $90 but this is well worth it. This is the one summer fragrance that always gives compliments and projects just right off the skin. One of my true loves. It is like a fresh and sweet cucumber vanilla fragrance. So refreshing.

Smelled it today, its the same as popeye and superman, i have them both so i know the smell really well. They should really change the smell more often, not just the bottle graphics. This bottle isnt even that nice to me, but the smell itself is very good tho, like last two years.
