Le Male Elixir

If you're going to read a review on this site because you're planning on getting this, wether you're into collecting or someone who just wants their first perfume, please let it be this one. Scent: Le Male Elixir is a beautiful flanker of the original Le Male Eau de Toilette by Jean Paul Gaultier but with a higher intensity for a more demanding, hedonistic crowd. The Opening is a blast of fresh, floral and clean lavender, that has quite a bit of bite with a touch of Mint and a background piercing honey note. This fizzy and clean opening transitions into a radiant, airy and luxurious mix of sweetness offered by the florals of the lavender and a rather spicy tonka bean, while not listed I feel there's a touch of geranium and a soft plum kind of vibe with a bit of smooth suede. The dry down is hefty. Benzoin, powdery vanilla and an earthy almost dirty tobacco note, but nothing challenging at all. This is a designer perfumery masterclass. If I could summarize the smell for those who are not familiar with perfumery notes, it'd be like smelling the whole process of walking in a garden full of flowers and plants next to a beekeeper's den (who is simultaneously rolling up a cigar) to collect ingredients that end up in a recipe for the most mouthwatering and delicious cake you've ever had. Let's talk about performance. This is strong stuff. For most occasions, 5 sprays will suffice, 8 hours of strong performance with the first 3 having great projection and sillage, nothing beast mode or anything but it performs well above average. After the 8th hour it will slowly fade but the Parfum intense concentration ensures that those special occasions where things might get intimate will never catch you lacking of your fine olfactory print. Compliments: I kid you not, this fragrance has what I call a miracle effect. I gain nothing from lying to random people on the internet, but this has gotten me a 100% compliment rate. Everyone from my family, friends, boss, coworkers, strangers, partner, etc. has given me a compliment, this is just THAT fragrance. Keep in mind I rarely dress to impress and I'm not handsome or in great shape either, and not to trash myself but I have that cranky old guy kind of personality, but even then this just keeps getting me compliments like I have a sign on the top of my head that says: "Compliment me or you'll die!" type shit. With that said, is it worth it at the price range? If you're a fan of the brand and their quality, definitely it does, and specially for the 125ml size. However, as a middle eastern fragrance aficionado, I can recommend a few alternatives that to me are absolutely worthy of comparison with this masterpiece: 1. Lattafa The Kingdom - To my nose; the best inspired by of Le Male Elixir. Basically the exact same scent and performance for a fraction of the price. The only difference to my nose is that The Kingdom is a tad more lavender heavy, but that's it. If you want to ball on a budget, The Kingdom is the closest to my nose at least. Performance wise, 1:1. 2. Lionheart Man by Armaf - For those that love that minty freshness from the Le Males, this is for you. Basically a take on the original Le Male Elixir with a minty twist that by the way, has the most accurate rendition of that tobacco note, in addition of having basically the exact same quality ingredients as its inspiration. Would recommend for those who have high expectations in terms of quality and want a more versatile rendition of this DNA. 3. Hawas Elixir - For those who yearn for the warm and seductive. A take on Le Male Elixir with a metallic opening, a more modern and sexy approach on the original, this time focusing on the depth and the backbone of the perfume. Hawas Elixir brings a rich, almost syrupy benzoin, with a higher emphasis on the powdery aspect of the vanilla. Perfect for those who live in dead cold environments, this delivers not only by bringing more depth, but also by adding a powdered cocoa twist, while also surpassing the performance of the original by a wide margin. With that said, the choice is yours to be made. I personally love this fragrance and it is in my weekly rotation for 2-3 days minimum. First off, I had smelled several dupes of this fragrance but never really tried the actual one. I think it is a lot better than the dupes. The juice feels higher quality and does not smell cheap at all like some of the dupes do. That said, when I first sprayed it, I immediately thought, why does it smell fresh? So I pulled out my phone and checked the notes. Sure enough, the top notes are lavender and mint. I think this can be an all around fragrance, and I think it can still work in summer too as long as you go light on it, maybe two sprays max. Here is why. Even though it leans more toward colder weather, the similarities between this and Versace Eros are pretty strong. They both have mint, vanilla, and tonka, and people wear Versace Eros all year. Would this be my first choice in summer? No, definitely not. But is it absolutely a no go? No. I think it just depends on the mood. If I want some vanilla in the summer, then yeah, why not. I also do not think this is only for teens or people in their 20s. Even though it is heavy on vanilla and honey, it still leans masculine, so I think pretty much anyone can wear it.

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Elixir is one of the sweetest and most addictive fragrances in the Le Male collection. It opens with fresh lavender and mint before quickly transitioning into a rich blend of vanilla, honey, and tonka bean. The dry down is warm, smooth, and slightly smoky, creating a bold and seductive scent that's hard not to enjoy. Performance is outstanding, easily lasting 10–12 hours with strong projection and an impressive scent trail. It performs best in autumn and winter, making it an excellent choice for date nights, parties, and evening wear. It also offers great value for money, thanks to its excellent quality and performance. The only real downside is its popularity. Because it has become one of the most talked-about designer fragrances in recent years, you're much more likely to smell it on other people, especially on nights out. If originality is important to you, this is something worth considering. Even so, its scent profile and performance easily make it one of the best designer releases available. 9.1/10.

A great, unique, sweet yet masculine scent with one problem... I've been smacking my head against the wall trying to figure out what the opening smells like, and I've finally figured it out. Gasoline. It smells very distinctly like gasoline for the first 10 minutes after spraying. That's not to say it's bad, just polarizing. The dry down is where this fragrance really shines, though. It evolves into a smooth honey, vanilla, and lavender smell with a touch of mint to keep it masculine & unique. Projection is fantastic with 3-4 sprays lasting 12+ hours on clothing with STELLAR projection. Seriously, every time I spray this, it floats in my room for hours. For the self-proclaimed fragrance experts who claim JPG Le Male Elixir is an "npc" fragrance due to TikTok popularity, I ask: how many times have you actually smelled it in real life? It's still a unique winter scent that stands on its own. I would say it's redundant if you already own Le Male Le Parfum, though, as they are very similar. 8/10

Le Male Elixr is indeed beautiful. It is a sweet perfume with a hint of minty freshness on first spray attributed to the top notes of Mint and Lavendar. A really nice sweetness (again with mild hints of greenness and earthiness). It's addictive and intoxicating with very good performance (very good projection and sillage), longevity is a good 10 hours+. The Tobaccoo and Honey blend is so smooth, it blends so well it is hard to pick out the notes by sniffing alone. Tobaccoo accounts for the slight earthiness (which is picked up on close sniff. It tries to dilute that great sweetness. The Honey, Vanilla and Tonka Beans combo makes some consider Le Male Elixr a gourmond. Again it is beautiful and can be used for both formal and casual sitiations, you could even stretch it's usage for special occasions and even formal (if you are mindful of the number of sprays). It smells really nice! Perfectly blended. I rate it an overall 8.5/10.

#1683 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Got this spray sample from scentwithsense.com. Jean Paul Gaultier puts out some great scents and this is one of their best. Sweet, vanillic and mild tobacco, one of their better quality offerings that's more long lasting and strong projecting than the mediocre performance of original Le Male. I love and own “Le Male Le Parfum” which most of the women in my life also like a lot, but I actually prefer this and I’m sure they will too. Fine for car pool, elevator, smal loffice wear. Business apropriate but also a good date scent. I think most everyone will find this attractive. For me it turns out I already own some very exact clones of this scent. Rayhaan “Elixir”, Lattafa “The Kingdom” and Armaf “Club de Nuit Lionheart”, so I already have this covered for the indefinite future. All three clones are cheaper, so you might want to consider that in your decision. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

First impression: This is sweet. Almost too sweet, sickeningly sweet. It smells great, but at the same time it's almost too much. This may sound strange, but underneath the blast of vanilla, honey, and tonka bean it feels like there is almost a "milky" undertone, and that's what throws me off a bit about this fragrance. Maybe it's the honey? Not sure. Performance and longevity is out of this world. If you want beast mode, this is it. At the time of writing we are in the middle of spring, with a mixture of cool and warm days so it's almost about time to put a fragrance like this away. So the timing could certainly be affecting my perception of this one. 2nd Impression [5/14/26]: This one really grew on me. The longevity, and sweetness of it makes it one of the best gourmands I've tried. It's be the only gourmand in my collection, one that is absolutely worthy of being that sole one. Ended up ordering a 125ml bottle.

This one took over 2 years to grow on me. Originally I had this, and almost couldn't wear it. The tobacco honey note was suffocating, and the projection was just too much even at one spray. It wasn't a fragrance that my nose could ever get used to within the 5-6 hour projection window, so it was off the list if I wanted to avoid a headache. After smelling more and more fragrances, and simply smelling it more and more, I learned to like it. The projection is still nuclear, and so is the longevity. But that gives it a quality of never worrying if people can smell it, and the sweetness that I used to find overpowering, is now something I enjoy. This and Xerjoff Naxos are suprisingly very similar in my opinion, and I wouldn't recommend buying both like I did. One can sub for the other in almost any situation. Overall, great fragrance. Might like it even more as I continue to reach for it, often over Naxos.

The teenage boy final boss JPG. With a nickname like that I wasn't expecting too much but I'm plessantly surprised. First thing worth mentioning is that for a JPG this thing is a BOMB. If you spray 2+ sprays you are almost guaranteed to turn a bunch of heads, making this an ideal party/attention-grabbing scent. This thing also just doesn't want to go away either. As for how it actually smells, it's like a really sweet jar of honey mixed with vanilla. A loud minority might view this as a bad thing but for the most part this makes Le Male Elixir a very well recieved fragrance, although not for every occassion. It's almost guaranteed to become overwhelming in summertime and can easily fill an entire room. So I would reconmend using it while outside during winter or night (or if you want attention). Even though it's not my first pick very often, I love this fragrance and would recommend. 9/10.

It starts off light and sweet and as it dries down you start to smell the lavender and mint kick in and the sweet vanilla/honey takes a back seat while the strong lavender and mint project. A really nice scent lives up to the hype and is very addictive. It's pretty nuclear people WILL notice. I once sprayed it on my friend and he told me it was still there after being washed. The scent trail is insane and it lasts forever, it's like there's a cloud of sweet vanilla and honey as you walk by. edit: found something interesting, sprayed on a strip and let it sit and it developed this nasty bo/musk smell that I don't usually get when I wear it. the smell was absolutely repulsive please do test and lmk if you get it too it doesn't happen when I wear it so idk. 10/10 jpg never fails to impress.

I finally got this perfume. Im coming from alternative arab ones and the first time i try it fell to me like a generic fragance. But i tried multiple times to know why this fragance was so hype and also for many years i was searching for a minty and tobacco fragance. Long story short i fell in love and cant stop smelling it so addictive and with a mix of strong and soft smell at the same time. For a first timer trying your going to feel it at first generic but keep smelling and the magic start to kick in you are going to feel the soft mint, strong honey note with the mix of tobacco and a crazy strong note of vainilla without being too feminine cuz of tobacco. Your nose is going to feel warm calming notes. 10/10 fragance comparing it with jpg elixr absolu, this one is much better.

The opening starts off sweet with the vanilla and honey but it remains light.. Where Elixir Absolu has that fruity plum “freshness”, this is more low key and not as exciting to me. I get the lavender, it’s soft and smells nice alongside the mint but it almost smells like a dry-down. There’s no “pop or pizazz”.. no wow factor. The sillage in the air smells beautiful! It’s sweet and a little thick with the honey, but close to the skin it has an odd lavender green minty smell that I’m not sure if I like. As time goes on, this fragrance is getting better and better. The smell in the air is intoxicating.. very sweet and sexy. What it lacked for me in the opening is more than being made up for as time goes by. I’ll have to text it next to Absolu as now I’m not sure which I prefer!

So, ive had a small decant of this for a few months. I absolutely fell in love with it. I just got my first full size 4.2oz bottle and I couldnt be happier. This stuff is seriously one of the best fragrances that I have ever smelled. Its sweet, warm, comforting, mass appealing. Also, I know everyone says not to wear it in hot weather, but I have and I havent had any issues. Ive ever asked my fiance and coworkers if its bothersome. So I will continue to wear this year round. I could honestly never trust someone that says they dont at least enjoy smelling this cologne. With it being so popular, Ive never come across anyone else wearing it. Le Male Elixir will be a constant in my ever changing collection, for the rest of my life.

De toda la línea de JPG elixir siempre será mi favorito, arranca con una salida que puede ser considerada hasta fresca menta y lavanda , después se presenta el tabaco fugazmente y en el secado de fondo queda presente la miel que le da ese rendimiento y duración abismal que a mi personalmente me dura muchísimo lo usé en una fiesta del trabajo salí 7pm de mi casa proyecto toda l noche la camisa quedó en el cesto y cuando la iba a lavar seguía oliendo, de todos los que tengo este es el favorito de mi novia un dulce que no hostiga ni empalaga invita a que se te acerquen a que ella te abrace ,comprenlo a ciegas no se van a arrepentir perfume para citas o salir de noche este es una gran opción

Like most of the Jean Paul fragrances, this is the gold standard for nighttime outtings. I mean it’s literally gold. This is one of the most balanced fragrances I’ve smelled. Although I’m not a fan of vanilla, this balances it enough so it’s not too strong initially, but also has a long sitting time. This creates such a warm atmosphere and inviting aura. One of the few fragrances that I can just throw on and feel comfortable in. I can still smell this on my wrist after going out on a sweaty weekend. Performance is great and the scent is versatile and not too abrasive. Fantastic fragrance, and a standout in my collection.

I bought this in September 2025 and initially regretted it as all I really smelled was the Mint note with only a slight of the Honey note. However, after letting macerate for a while it turned into my favorite fragrance. The Vanilla note really comes to life after the 6th week, while the Mint relaxes down. Not to mention that this thing is NUCLEAR. I sprayed it around 4 in the afternoon and came back home past midnight still smelling it on myself. I'd be gentle with this 2-3 sprays at most, as when I first started going out with it my friends would tell me to chill with it since they could smell me from a few feet away.

Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male Elixir is one of my favorite fall/winter fragrances of all time. It's sweet, cozy, and addictive, and I really enjoy it. It's also probably gotten me the most compliments I've ever gotten from a fragrance. It's good on its own, but layering it takes it to another level. One might think it's too sweet to layer, but they would be incorrect. Just from my personal experience, layering it with Versace Eros is a great combination. As long as you balance out the vanilla sweetness when you layer it (like adding in a fresh, aromatic, or citrus-y fragrance), it'll work well.

as much as I hate to say it, this is debatably the best men's fragrance of all time. Since it's popularization, I've never really wanted it as I love smelling unique but recently I just want to smell amazing. I smell this everywhere and I never complain, it's such addicting honey and vanilla and the tobacco note really drives the masculinity it. If you're not that into fragrances this is really perfect if you just want to smell great. The only reason I won't glaze this too hard is because it's not unique which use to be more important but I don't think that many people care anymore.

This is a honey-sweet, vanilla-based fragrance intended for young men under the age of 25. That being said, this is an absolute beast of a fragrance with powerful sillage. I would recommend this fragrance for winter days/nights. In warmer temperatures, this fragrance's sweet scent profile would be too cloying and potentially headache-inducing. I get a solid 9-10 hours of wear with his fragrance with 3 hours of strong projection. Overall, when worn correctly (five sprays maximum) this is a great pickup for those learning about fragrances and fragrance enthusiasts alike. 9/10!

A review from an absolute fragrance noob. I adore this. Genuinely. It’s my absolute favourite scent and the one that got me into all this mess. I got a 2ML or something tester in the mail and I have loved it since then. It’s quite sweet and masculine yet still quite fun in my opinion. I do find however that randomly sometimes (this is gonna sound very niche so if anyone understands I love you) the top notes make it smell like the back of a maximum power hand held battery operated hoover. Some days it won’t smell like it at all though. Amazing fragrance. 10/10.

Worth the hype. Blind bought this and it made me want to start collecting fragrances. The lavender and mint are a bit stingy at first and then the vanilla takes over. The honey is very noticeable too. It's very sweet, young and shameless, while still somehow maintaining a refined note thanks to the tobacco and tonka bean blending together. The bottle is also gorgeous, but as I'm glazing this fragrance like crazy, you need to keep in mind that it can induce headaches if worn in hot weather or simply if you're not into fragrances this sweet.

I absolutely LOVE this scent profile and I think it's quite versatile except for an office scent or a daily scent (versatile in the sense that you can wear it in a suit or in a t shirt and shorts). Performance is absolutely monstrous and lasts for multiple days on clothes and has incredible projection and sillage. Overall a lovely scent and my absolute favourite of my humble collection which includes tuscan leather, bleu de chanel edp, h24 edp, and stronger with you amber. 9/10 in my opinion.

9/10 Amazing Vanilla and Honey based fragrance.Perfect for the cold weather,dates or special events since it projects like crazy and has a beautiful smell.It also lasts on me for more than a day.I washed my clothes from the day I wore it and the scent was still on them.This is one of the best things about this fragrance but also one of the worst since it is not versatile at all,reason why I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 but even so,it’s one of my favourite cologne’s in my collection.

Este perfume é, sem dúvidas, o favorito da minha vida. A combinação de baunilha, mel e tabaco é o que me faz pensar como uma fragrância consegue ser perfeita em todos os aspectos. O Le Male Elixir entrega absolutamente tudo: um cheiro viciante, qualidade de ingredientes, um frasco icônico e o peso da marca Jean Paul Gaultier. Até hoje, não encontrei nenhum perfume que consiga superá-lo. É o tipo de escolha para apenas usar e ter a certeza de que nunca passará despercebido.

As soon I put it on it smells really little like lavender but a lot like mint and honey then when it being to change it smells like pure vanilla and in it's last stages it smells like pure honey. Really good bottle design, atomizer, and just the performance of this perfume. It's also one of the sweetest but masculine cologne. The mint is really strong at first which can cause headaches if oversprayed. It also demands compliments and just is really good. 9.5/10.

A favourite of mine, particularly good for nights and events. For conservative offices, I wouldn't recommend it, but maybe for unis and schools. The longevity is good; projection is mild-to-moderate, with a modern feel and a distinctly masculine scent. Proven compliment getter, but performs better in the cold. Good for younger audiences, and you can smell a kind of lime-lavender, vanilla. I don't know if it's tobacco or tobacco leaf, but it's good.

Just a good fragrance. There's a lof of discourse online about this fragrance, how it gets overhyped or overhated, but man it's just a good fragrance. Sweet vanilla and lavender, honey, a bit of tobacco on the drydown which I personally wish was a little stronger, but still great. Good projection and longevity as well, i mean not rook filling, at least in my experience, but still very good, cool bottle design too. Good fragrance, would recommend.

It's very sweet and amazing I like sweet fragrance this doesn't give me a headache but I only use this one for special occasions I spell like sweet vanilla syrup with honey amd dates very long lasting lasts over 2 days on clothes on skin easy 10 12 hours price wise abit expensive but definitely worth it if used for special occasions definitely worth it not the safest blind buy unless you like very sweet fragrance and live vanilla

Most people have this perfume and its for good reason. At first a blast of beautiful lavander and tobacco hits your nose. After 10-30 minutes the sweet honey comes up and basically its all i can smell and it might come off as unisex by this time. Projection is a beast and longevity 10+ hours on my skin. I suggest to try it first its in every Sephora/ Douglas/ any fragrance store that sells designers

This is my favorite and best clubbing fragrance I own in my $2,000+ collection consisting of dupes, designer, and niche. This sorta smells like a cinnamon roll candle with spice that a women can pull off. Lasts a long time and leaves a thick scent trail. As a 21 yr old man I love this because it’s sweet like a desert and loud, women might think another women’s perfume rubbed off on me or something.

Went back to Sephora multiple times to try this on, half hoping I wouldn't fall for it. I did anyway. It's one of my favorites, easily top 10 in my collection. It just smells really good. Simple. I personally wear it whenever and however I want, I don't care about the season or anything else. Also I don't see any reason why a woman wouldn't love wearing this...Personal subjective score: 9.5/10

So everyone says this is childish and immature. I say it's playful and ageless. The OG is in the same boat. Teenagers wear it with confidence as well as 70 year old men. I'm 46 years of age and love this. It is very sweet but still has an aromatic side that tames it just a pinch. As mentioned it's long lasting mass appealing and can be worn all seasons. Not 1 negative thing about it IMHO.

Smelled this for the 2nd time at Macy's today. Fell in love with it. The opening was a nice mix of spice & sweetness that just seemed to have an invigorating fizz to it. I've been looking for something to layer around my other Sauvage fragrances to add depth & heavier sillage. Longevity was solid, especially on clothes. The dry down on this is heavenly; it just seems to waft in the air.

Initially I found it sort of off-putting but something kept dragging me back and I could not stop smelling my arm. After it dried down I realised this smells heavenly, a perfect mix of vanilla & honey. However, it is very sweet and on my skin at least, super syrupy thick, so I wouldn't recommend wearing it in enclosed spaces. But on others I've noticed it can be much airier, YMMV.

This fragrance is a beast. Smells strong, settles beautifully and lasts ages. The vanilla is great in this and the sweetness is perfect for winter. The only main drawback is how common this fragrance is. Still definitely a compliment getter and worth your money, also makes a great gift due to how mass appealing it is. Can be a bit sickly for some. Worth a buy! 8.7/10.

This fragrance was my favourite OAT, when i first smelled this it had a nutty smell, kinda like roasted almonds, it was so addicting, ive had it for year and a half and that nutty smell vanished, i dont like it as much anymore, there is a certain note i dont like that ruins this fragrance for me, kinda sad cuz i bought the 200ml bottle. Still a great fragrance.

I got this one before the hype, and it was my favourite scent, by far. It's a super mass-appealing vanilla compliment-getter (careful with the number of sprays, though). Performance is phenomenal; it lasts on clothes for at least a day before it slightly fades. The retail price has gone up since it went viral last year, so the value has gone down.

One of the best Vanilla colognes on the planet, Amazing for a man and overhated, It smelt weird at first for me but when i bought it and i started smelling it more it got so addicting, the vanilla and honey is very strong but the tobacco balances it out and the lavendar gives it a hint of freshness on its, its SO good 10/10 cologne

Le male elixir is my favorite fragrance. The honey note in it is very addictive. When I use it, I can’t stop smelling it. It is truly a masterpiece. I have great respect for my favorite perfumer, Quentin Bisch. In my opinion, this scent is flawless. As a general comment, those who dislike sweet fragrances should not use it.

It’s such a seeet honey fragrance. the opening is a honey sweetness with some minty cool-freshness.!there’s also a very prominent lavender note which gives it richer depth than just a basic vanilla fragrances. daily one of JPGs best. also i got this about 9 months ago ish and it’s gotten better over time.

Gourmand date night masterpiece, I greatly prefer this to Ultra Male. It has a subtly that's difficult to articulate. I'm not easily a fan of warmer fragrances but this is the best one I've ever had on my skin. It even has been thinking of selling off my bottle of Pi now that it seems redundant at best.

I’m a woman and I LOVE this scent. In my opinion it’s very unisex. I tend to not like feminine perfumes because they have this sharpness that gets cloying. This perfume doesn’t have that. It’s what I wish burberry goddess was. On my skin the mint note really stands out and adds some nice depth to it.

Elite performance. Elite smell. It's neither too sweet nor too childish or youthful. It checks every box for a honey-vanilla lover. Aromatic from mint and lavender, it's just so good. Everytime I wear it, I go crazy for it, smelling myself, and it's been a few years since I bought my first bottle.

My first ever fragrance. Got it for $165 at dillards and felt like that was a good price at the time. Now, I would say if you paid closer to $100, it would definitely be worth picking up. It is such a sweet vanilla amber fragrance with a "minty" scent to it. Definitely a staple in my collection.

Everyone knows the scent, its great but dont spray it close to your nose (neck, chest) if you dont want to suffucate on the spot. I once sprayed like twice on my neck and I almost threw up in the car. I find it hard to wear because I like spraying on my chest etc. but still can spray elsewhere.

this fragrance is popular for a reason. i sprayed only 4 sprays (which is very little for some ppl) and it lasted on me for like 15 hours. this thing projects like crazy. It smells like honey and vanilla except a lot of it can be a lil headache enducing. 10/10 fragrance

Beautiful fragrance. This was the first fragrance I purchased when I started getting into fragrances. My wife insisted on buying me a cologne for Christmas, we tested 50 different fragrances, and this is the one I ended up with. I still love it. This one’s a 10/10.
