Le Male Superman Eau Fraiche

Love this scent !!! I originally only liked it but it has grown on me for sure ! Admittedly so because of the compliments it’s garnered ! This opens up very minty,bubblegum like but also with a very bright freshness from the aldehydes. It’s rare I like sweet/fresh/bubblegum type scents but I have fallen in love with this scent. Once this dries down that bubblegum opening fades and the vanilla and aldehydes take over making this smell like freshly washed clothes over a slight sea breeze. Very refreshing scent !! Performance on this is sketchy as it’s lasted me 3-8 hrs. Sometimes it fades fast and other times it will stick around most of the day. This is also a scent that if your skin warms up this scent will sometimes come back to life. Also, this has solid projection in the first hour !!! Overall rating-8 out of 10 ! Very solid summer scent that’s gotten me a lot more compliments than expected and has become a staple in my summer rotation. Sidenote—- in the drydown this smells like a summery Versace Eros which I enjoy as I liked the fresh aspects of Eros but hated the syrupy burnt sugar type sweetness. This scent however is a perfect blend of fresh AND sweet

Superman, Popeye, Andre Edition, Airlines are one of the best summer non-blue-aquatic / non-citrus fragrances. On outdoor performance is more than average a little bit, it projects moderately and it stays on my skin more or less 8 hours when the weather is not super hot around 26-30°C. otherwise, if the weather is super duper hot like 35+ °C. it projects more. more airy and little bit cloying. however, the longevity will be less like it only last 3-4 hours. (try to understand this logic -> ) some summer fragrances performance/longevity really depends on skin chemistry and seasons /weather temperature. and some gets better when the weather is super hot. (like sauvage edt, ysl y edp) Overall for me these flankers are still 10/10 for me. 100% compliment puller. Is worth it? for limited editions flankers and as a collector, For me its a YES if you can find reasonable prices. Is it unique? YES. for me these flankers juices are just re-bottled each year (2016-2018) with little bit of tweak. some guys will say it's similar to this, to that. but still nothing from the market smells exactly the same like these flankers.

I got a sample of that one when I bought another fragrance at store, they gave me 5ml as a "gift", I used it enough times to make a review here. In my opinion, it's a very good fragrance with fresh notes, it's not as heavy as JPG Le Male and it has some notes of it's original. Good for use during the day, although I didn't think about using it in the night because I prefer heavier scents on these moment. You notice a very pleasant combination of mint and aldehydes in the opening, for me at least, the drydown is very linear and you feel some vanilla later but not that much. I sprayed it 3 times when I still had the sample (on my neck, clothes and wrist), and i found it a clean scent so good that I kept smelling my wrist every time.. projection is good and longevity (at least for me) is good too. I consider it a soft / moderated scent and it accomplishes it's purposes. I liked this one a lot and I thought many times about buying a bottle of it (40ml, 75ml, whatever) but let's see... maybe I get that one to alternate with the one I am already using... I recently bought a bottle of this off of eBay and it's quite a unique fragrance in my opinion. Before I start discussing the smell and longevity I want to mention that this is an older fragrance, from 2017, so it may smell and preform different now compared to back in 2017. Now I do like this fragrance but it's not going to be for all. Depending on your skin you may get a very laundry detergent opening but I get a fresh minty opening. For middle notes I get a sweet almost lavender type middle and the base is a nice vanilla/tonka. Also the projection is good, if you are standing next to someone they will notice but it doesn't overpower anyone. To end this I would say this is an awesome fragrance to add to your collection but it shouldn't be one you start out with Price: 0/10 (they go for about 250-300 on eBay) Longevity: 6.5/10 (6.5/10 because it stays on my skin for about 6.5 hours) Performance: 7/10 (could be a bit longer but usually freshies have bad performance for me) Smell: 8.5/10 (depends on your skin)

Somehow this fragrance gets reviewed by people who sprayed it once in the store years ago. I wonder why? :) I bought a bottle and am almost done with it. Here is my $0.02 to you. IMO, this is a summer and slightly modernized version of the original Le Male. It will smell familiar to you, if you actually own Le Male bottle as well, not just spray in the store :) A few notes are dimmed and some are amped up but over all this is a summer version of the original thing. That's it. I like the original Le Male but it could be cloying in the summer. This one does not have that, well not to the same degree (as this is not a high heat fragrance). I actually prefer this one to the original during the warm 6 months and the rest I wear Le Male simply because on a cold day this one does not perform that well. Shame it is discontinued and hard to find but grab it if you can get it for the same price as the original (don't pay crazy money for it as for that price there are better options).

Le Male Superman Eau Fraiche is an aromatic, floral, vanilla fragrance. Its opening is fresh, but not in a citrusy way, rather floral, with a slight green mint. After about 10 minutes, the presence of sweet notes such as vanilla and tonka bean increases. At times it comes to remember Eros Eau de Toilette. The aroma is very pleasant, like the smell of fabric softener, which gives that feeling of clean clothes. It could be used during hot summer and spring days and in casual activities, outdoor outings or couple outings. In terms of performance, its longevity with me was good, staying close to 9 hours, and with a notable sillage in the first hours. It seems that this version is already difficult to find, but I suppose that some of the new flankers will have some resemblance.

Can't really understand what's going on here, but, to me, it smells exactly like what I could've wait from a summer Le mâle fragrance. I checked Popeye's notes but to me it's different. It's really pleasant, it's very fresh at first, nice use of mint and aldehydes, then I get this Le mâle vibe, aromatic, sexy, maybe the sage doing this effect. And the more it dries, the more good it becomes, it's really nice, kind of sweet et and spicy, but not too much, the perfect dose not to kill everyone next to you in high heat. The only ''downside'' I give it, is its longevity, mint fragrance doesn't last that much and it's an Eau fraiche, so I think it's totally acceptable considering these facts.

It smells GOOD! It last pretty well, enormous first 1 hour, next couple of hours stays arm length but then becomes a nice skin scent. definitely an outdoor hot weather scent, even though it is a little sweet. I guess that is the best thing about this scent, a fresh yet sweet HOT weather fragrance. I believe it does have the Le Male DNA but to a very minimal, I will update this based on people's response. So Far, i have received two compliment from my colleagues. I paid around 70USD for 125ML. I would say its worth it. strongly recommended for guys living in a tropical climate country.

reminds me of rasasi hawas for men. wearing superman eau fraiche for the first time today, new years 2020. first impression is great fragrance but smells like hawas. unless I got a fake decant from ebay. if this is what its smells like it's a pass for me. just bought a 30 ml decant of hawas last summer. final impression after wearing for 6 hrs indoors: dries down to a different scent unlike hawas, which was my initial impression. I like it and it's different, unique as far as my current collection. full bottle worthy. I think I need to hurry up and get this before its discontinued

I brought jpg superman this morning i have to say that I do like it.I sprayed it at 10am as I write this It's nearly 4pm It's has a hint of le male but it disappears quickly then turns into something different. I was a huge fan of the original le male now I can't wear it as it's dated and everyone knows it. This is a great substitute for me to le male. However that being said the projection and longevity isn't great I can still detect it however it's now a skin scent thankfully I got it at 20% off. because it's a summer scent I can't complain about performance

Really love this unique fresh and sweet fragrance, Longevity is ok around 5-6 hour, but the projection is a bit weak. I spray in my shoulder to get more reach. update 18/10/17 I just got two compliment from ladies co-worker in the office. I juts passing by in front of her desk and they calling me back saying i'm smell good. The ladies in front of her desk saying that too. Note that i just re-spray (2 spray) on 1.30pm and i got the compliment on around 3pm. So i can say the sillage for this fragrance is good.

Nice scent. It definitely has the le male DNA in there for sure mixed with a little bit of an invictus bubble gum note. It's fresh but also thick and creamy. You get that bubble gum sweetnote, some vanilla tones mixed with some mint and freshness. The scent seems strong and is staying on my arm pretty aggressively. Some say the performance is bad, I wonder if they mean with projection because the longevity and scent strength seems good. not sure if this is any different to popeye.. Hear different things.

Well, trust me or not, but I just find a french local shop brand deodorant that smells EXACTLY like this scent. I'm so so glad because I really like this fresh smell with somehow Le Mâle DNA, but Eau fraîche is a real disappointment. The deodorant costs 1€97/200ml (2$) and last like 15h+, good sillage, moderate projection while the Eau Fraîche, 52€/75ml (55$), has quite poor longevity, weak to moderate sillage and skin close projection. PS : aluminium free deodorant :D

it is one of those fragrance which is worth the hype. stays up to the expectation. It performs very well in very very high heat " out in the sun" situations but also performs and smells really good in temperature control environment. it is may be a little bit on the sweeter side but this one is 10/10 summer scent for sure. if it is 35C and above, and u want a projecting and long lasting fragrance and not your typical blue / citrus stuff, not many come close to this.

Good performance, decent projection, and excellent smell. Take Le male and remove the spice, vanilla and replace it with a more cold smelling vanilla. Add more mint + dryer sheet smell, mint gum and transparent watery notes, and you have this. As far as i know, airlines and Andre eau Fraiche are pretty much the same so if you can't get this, buy those ones. Btw, my mother hates Le male, but she likes this so that's a bonus for people who may not like Le male.

Light Gourmand for summer. Smell a bit like good'ol Popeye candy cigarettes. Longevity very good and projection not bad by any means. Other houses has a lot to learn from Gaultier on the creativity and the performance department. I dunno what you guys mean by poor longevity on this one. One spray still giving strong skin scent even after 12+ hours is very good for a summer scent. Contrary to above description, this is available only as 125ml not 75ml. 8/10

I'm a big fan of Gaultier-style vanilla, so I always wanted to have a vanilla fragrance for summer, but thought it's impossible. Well, I was terribly wrong. Jean Paul Gaultier Superman is a great summer semi-sweet fragrance with a solid fresh minty note. Smells like very expensive fabric softener with sexy sparkle. Perfect for high summer heat, despite its sweetness. Well done, Gaultier. 8/10.

I wrote a review of this fragrance already, just a comment on similar smelling fragrances ive tried since it seems people are worried about discontinuation: azzaro wild mint, almost the same just a tad fruitier (watermelon) and aquatic; L'Homme Riche by indie perfumer Authenicity Perfumes, not as minty but very long lasting.

This is the one of the strongest ‘freshies’ I’ve smelt but not in an overpowering way, the magic is in the sillage and I get a good 7-8 hours on longevity. More modern fresher take on the original Le Male DNA. Lots of compliments from this one I’ve got my fingers crossed JPG re-release as I now use my bottle sparingly.

It has a Great smell - Very very good smell......... but ........Its ending after 1 - 2 hours......... I mean.....WHAT....????? It is not a cheap one - and im expecting it to last 4-5 hours at least - Am i right...???? my rating : Scent - 100% .........!!!!!!!! Projection - 55/100 Longevity - 30/100

I still have my 2017 bottle and I can tell somethings have changed but it still has its original smell but performance has downgraded slightly. Overall a very nice scent for summer and warmer months. The best way to describe the smell is fresh linen with some mint and quite a bit of vanilla.

Mint in this fragrance is amazing! It is shame that it is discontinued. Imagine young guy in linen white shirt drinking cocktail on the beach, that is best way I can describe superman to you. In my opinion this one is for more younger audience but still amazing scent.

Damn this stuff is good. I love the opening, a semi-bubblegum sweetness with a hint of fresh clean laundry and of course the original Le Male DNA. I can't really see this being suitable for high heat though, this definitely has a cooler weather vibe.

I absolutely adore this fragrance. If you like Le Male but think it's a little bit too harsh for summertime, this one is perfect for you. It's a toned down and fresher version of Jean Paul Gautier Le Male.

It is exactly the same as popeye. Lovely scent, nothing watered down. DIfferent than original le male. Wonderful scent stays minty fresh vibe. Easy to wear anytime. Scent: 8,5 Sillage: 7 Longevity: 7,5

To people who’s mourning the discontinuation of this fragrance: just but the Andre edition or Popeye. I got both the Andre edition and Superman, and they’re literally the same juice.

This smells like a man, who sprayed le male 10 hrs ago, carrying a mint scented plastic bag with a soiled nappy inside. Longevity is actually quite good. I still like it though.

Amazing fresh, clean fragrance. Bought a tester for something like 45 bucks - try buying a tester because you’ll love it. Impossible not to like.

This is truly aldehydic bomb. Opens up spicy-fresh with mint, aldehydes and neroli. It's like walking straight out of a cold shower. Once the scent settles a bit, I get very prominent fougere kick with clary sage. It kinda surprised me but in a very nice way. Everything softened by delicate vanilla but nothing overly sweet. I do get a bit of original Le Male signature in it. I love the spicy fresh opening as well as the fougere phase that follows, but in the complete drydown, I smell close to skin and sort of a flat sweeter summer scent. It's not bad, it's just I wish it would keep that masculine tone which dissapears after half an hour. Then the scent is probably what is a big hit in todays young male summer frags. Not that teeny as Eros tho. To me 7/10 - if the drydown would keep the masculinity, easily 8/10.

For me, a fragrance that is not good on your clothes, the scent punch thru my throat and wants to gag from time to time when I smell this. This is better when applied to your skin and the hotter your body temp gets, the stronger the sillage and projection. Great projection for 1st hour and so, but became moderate after 3rd hour, but you can still smell it from time to time when you get a little bit sweaty. I got unsolicited compliment on this from my lady colleague after 2hours. It has pleasing sweet vanilla floral scent that lingers for some time when the fragrance is coming from the skin.

This fragrance isn't Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Superman Eau Fraiche...it's Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male! If you ask me what fragrance brand is suitable to Superhero like "Superman" I think is Lacoste Essential because of fresh bergamot and tangerine and why I chosen Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio Profumo because is smart scent, charming smell, rich man and elegant. "Superhero" must have Help peoples, simple smile, understanding people, being kind, gratefulness, self-sacrificing, generous, and loving others over self.

Picked it at the airport without thinking too much and unfortunately I did not use it too much during the summer. It smells like a cross between La male and Le beau male just a little bit softer and fresh. The bottle looks nice and it’s one of the reasons why I bought it. A great fragrance if you want just want to smell fresh and clean. Scent: 7/10 Projection: 6/10 Longevity: 7/10 Versatility: 8/10 Compliments: 8/10

I got this one as a blind but after multiple recommendations over the Popeye variant. I didn't like it as much though. There's some spicy thing that makes my throat raspy, I can't identify the particular note but it's the same sensation I feel with Acqua di Gio Absolu. It ́s a good fragrance, I reckon probably others will like it more than myself since not everyone gets that raspy base.

Unfortunately this could have been one of the greatest fragrances of all-time, however the performance was terrible. The scent itself is amazing 10/10, however, no one could smell it due to the poor performance and sillage. I wish they would release it again with better performance, then it will always be in my collection.

I absolutely don't understand how the majority of people are claiming this is very long lasting with an enormous sillage?!? It smells good, it's fresh, but the longevity is pretty weak. To be fair it's "only" an EDP. Factoring in the price and the amount of juice you get it's still worth it IMHO.

Very good but not superior to the older brother. Here we have the classic Le male with a waterfall of Aldehydes. However the Amber that makes itself felt from beginning to end (thankfully) knows how to keep the Tonka at bay. Sorry, you are good but the Super remains the classic

Same as Popeye and IMO, a youthful, fun, exciting, very very very likeable scent for the summer. Mint with vanilla, then add on vanilla and more mint. Stays with you while delivering an excellent trail. Scent: 9 Projection: 8 Longevity: 8.5 Value: 9 (mine was from 2016)

The opening is great It’s a cold vanilla, minty, fresh, and some creaminess. It gives off fresh laundry vibe. This is a good dumb reach for summer. A white T-Shirt fragrance. Edit - This does not smell like Eros. The only thing they have in common is that cold vanilla.

This is my current spring-summer gym scent. Clean and invigorating. Only good in the right situation (spring, summer, dynamic and/or open spaces) otherwise it's a slightly annoying detergent/fabric softener/floor cleaner scent.

I would say that Superman is a solid fragrance. Its not ground-breaking but no complaints. Fresh fougiere with a hint of bubblegum sweetness. You can probably pull this off in any season

Not a bad smell. Light bubblegum with mint is what I get. My main issue is that it barely projects and longevity is also quite poor. Became a skin scent within an hour.
