Scandal Pour Homme Elixir

Got my bottle delivered today. First impression, it's very in the vein of Scandal Pour Homme Absolu. Unlike others, this doesn't really remind me all that much of the original Scandals. It's warmer and has a sort of nuttiness to it that really drives the connection to the Scandal Absolu. I do agree however that the cherry is a little sickly sweet off the top and does benefit from the dry-down. This has the sillage of Scandal Absolu, I imagine it's going to last as long as well, well over 8 hours for me. This probably isn't for everyone, a lot of men don't want to smell like cherries for some reason, and that's ok. I find it to be a masculine fragrance, which is probably owed to it being similar to the Absolu to my nose. That being said, it's not among the most masculine fragrances, but anyone calling this unisex or feminine leaning is way off in my book. The patchouli is minty and fresh, not the earthy variety and doesn't stand too proud in the fragrance, to those of you like me, who patchouli explodes off of. The balance is working well with me, which means on a normal person you probably won't get much of the patchouli and the balance is more likely very Tonka forward, which may account for the variance in opinion on the masculinity of the fragrance. Even still with the Scandal Absolu DNA tucked in there, this settles down from being overly sweet to being quite balanced. I picked this up in a 50ml (which I believe is standard), it's packaged in the red velvet box and the bottle is identical to Scandal Pour Homme Absolu excepting that the metalic coat on the bottom of the bottle is silver and not gold for this flanker. The cap is not magnetic, it is held on with a good secure snap; that for me is more than sufficient to hold the weight of the bottle through the pick-up/put-down process. It's definitely a finger print magnet. The atomizer is what one would expect from a JPG fragrance, good not great leading me to apply this in the 6-8" range from my target area. This definitely hits as a fall/winter/early spring fragance and possibly night-time in the summer but I would avoid it through the summer during the day without question. Final thoughts, if you're a fan of Scandal Absolu and you like cherry in your fragrance line-up, I'm convinced you'll like this. I got a good price on my bottle, but I would say that the MSRP is very high for what this is, I'd recommend shopping around and getting this on sale for sure, it's not worth getting in a hurry over, but for the right price it's a good pick-up. I'd say the same thing for blind-buying this, it's safe but try to get it on sale.

My first ever Jean Paul Gaultier perfume, and the choice was more than correct. I bought this thinking it was the same scent as the EDT I tried in Boots. In fact, it was significantly better than I thought. It's definitely a boozy, mature, gourmand, cosy cherry scent; perfect for a classy evening at the cabaret and frisky date nights. It may be advertised as "Pour Homme", but I can absolutely see a woman rocking this. On initial spray, the bergamot and lemon were prominent in the opening, and then gradually the cherry made a breakthrough during the dry down. A couple of minutes later, tonka, vanilla, patchouli, and rum tied the fragrance for me. What is most impressive about this perfume is its longevity. I sprayed some on my neck and shirt collar around 5 pm. Upon waking up, the scent was still there and still clung to my shirt from last night; however, it was a more tonka/vanilla/rum scent. The cherry wasn't as strong, but it was still there, and it smelled amazing. I struggled to find perfumes that last long for a long time, so I am glad I found this gem. Overall, Scandal Pour Homme Elixir exceeded my expectations and became love at first sight for me. I will definitely be wearing this on a night out. Dare I say, I prefer this more than "Lost Cherry" by Tom Ford. It's a guaranteed headturner scent 9.5/10

Aaah .. beautiful boozy cherry/lavender opening .. very sweet and cozy. As the opening calms .. you begin to smell the vanilla a bit and it is definitely the right amount of vanilla .. not that cloying sweet and heavy vanilla that most winter scents exhibit so proudly .. it's like they knew how sweet that cherry and tonka would be and said we'll just add a hint of vanilla to smoothen it out and that it does indeed .. my only gripe is that by the end of its journey it has a quite pronounced ambery, sandalwood like base that to me smells a bit overused in the mainstream side of things and i know .. although not listed in the note pyramid but i definitely do get it .. and it's not bad .. it just feels too familiar .. and i tend to want to smell a bit different .. but tbh the cherry is quite alluring and different enough to be fair .. for that alone i probably would buy it .. however, for now i'll enjoy my flatmates bottle .. 😅 Can i just add that siliage and longevity are fantastic .. if anything borderline headache inducing, so be careful to spray conservatively ..

Fragrance Review: First thoughts, the opening has a cherry sweet, fruity, vanilla scent. • Scandal Elixir starts off with a close similarity with the original scandal. The only difference is, rather than Caramel, it's much more of a Cherry dominated scent. Ideal for cherry fragrance lovers or sweet fruity scents. I sprayed a total of 5 times. Twice behind each ear, twice on the front of neck, and once in front of my chest. The longevity is good and lasts approximately 8+ hours on my skin. This fragrance projects good too, with about a 6 ft radius for 40 minutes, and a skin scent after. (Depends on skin types) Overall Rating (8/10) PERFUMER: Quentin Bisch, Natalie Gracia-Cetto, Christophe Raynaud, Louise Turner It's a little bit feminine to my nose, and it can be a little bit too sweet sometimes. But overall it's a good scent if you enjoy wearing the original Scandal or Scandal Absolu. If you have performance issues; make sure you buy from a safe source

The opening is driven by a clearly defined cherry note, sweet and candy-like, which immediately stands out. As the fragrance settles, tonka bean and patchouli smooth out the opening, adding warmth and giving the scent a more grounded, masculine character. The transition is pleasant, even if not particularly complex. This Scandal Elixir is the one that steps furthest away from the traditional Scandal DNA, appealing more to those who enjoy fruit-forward compositions rather than heavily caramel-vanilla-driven ones. Overall, it is an enjoyable and well-made fragrance, focused on wearability and appeal. Easy to wear, though not especially distinctive. Final rating: 7.5/10

Got it in the mail today. First impression off atomizer with no spray, smelled very close to Fan Your Flames from Nishane. On skin you definitely get the cherry. It actually hangs around for a long time. It dries down to Fan Your Flames with a cherry on top. I like it!! Should have got the 100ml instead of the 50ml. About the cherry note. Its a tricky one I suppose. Im a fan. Or at least the idea of smelling like a cherry. Its hard to not make it juvenile. In here, it is. The only grown up cherry fragrance ive ever smelled is lhomme ideal edp. Even the new ideal Parfums cherry accord smells a bit like this one does. RDK479 pretty much sums it up, but i would say dryer sheet mixed with cherry. Fan Your Flames also dries down into a dryer sheet type smell.

Stock finally hit some discounters, so I immediately jumped on this. Cherry and lavender notes are extremely prominent while the vanilla is extremely subtle. An extremely likable scent that is not at all challenging. Whether you see that as a positive or a negative is up to your own sensibilities. I personally love this one although we're past the season where it can be worn. I'll have to wait a few more months while this will be sitting in the cupboard for a while. Also, word of warning, but do NOT spray on clothes; especially light clothes. The juice is dark and it easily stained my undershirt.

Bought it because I really liked the absolu version and I was really curious about the cherry note ! Honestly, first time I smelt it, it was a little bit too synthetic for my taste. But I tried it the other day again after 2 months and now I'm really enjoying it. You get a lot of the Scandal DNA, if you like the absolu, you'll definitely like this one. The cherry note is not too much upfront but you really get it in a subtle way. 70% similar to absolu and in my opinion it's still the best one but there's no bad things to say about the elixir ;) Great performance and great scent

Very nice, sweet cherry opening. The cherry lingers for a while before the tonka and patchouli start coming trough with a woody, smokey vanilla scent. It reminds me of Scandal Absolu, but without the sandalwood note and sweeter. Once dried down the cherry mixes perfectly with the tonka, and stops being overly sweet. Definitely a more male leaning scent, unlike what some others are saying. Sillage is good. The longevity is pretty great, even on skin. It stayed on my clothes overnight and i could still smell it in the morning.

There is No Need to buy more than one Scandal fragrance in the line as they are all incredibly similar. This is nothing more than a cynical cash grab much like the Stronger with you line where they make tiny tweaks and sell them as a new fragrance. I have both the Parfum, the EDT and this and while there are tiny differences you have to really concentrate to tell the difference. Far too much of this from major fragrance houses lately. Everyone just wants to cash out and integrity is in short supply.

Scandal Pour Homme Elixir by Jean Paul Gaultier. Does what it says... sweet rich Scandal Elixir DNA with a dark ambery cherry note or even later in the dry down a dark chocolate, coconut and raspberry undertone. Similar syrupy vibes on the opening to the gold Le Males too. Smells nothing like SWY Powerfully which has almost no cherry but lots of Oud. Great longevity and silage. More cool weather. Night. Unisex. Safe blind buy if you like the OG or any of the flankers. Age 18+. 9/10.

Just commenting on the rival this thing has in stronger with you powerfully, and there similarities with other fragrances. To me scandal is the better scent overall and has more of a prominent cherry note. Scandal last longer just performs better. But powerfully is no slouch. This is the big thing for me. Scandal is basically Fan Your Flames with a cherry on top. So its real good. Powerfully to me unfortunately is khamrah in a designer bottle... That sucks.

I think you either like the scandal line or you don't. It's very sweet like all of them but I'd say this is my favourite so far. The cherry note is prominent at the start but drys down to smelling not too dissimilar to the original scandal. If you are wondering what type of cherry scent, it leans heavily towards a maraschino cherry scent. Recommended if you like them sweet.

Arrived yesterday after preordering. Big fan of the Scandal line and was excited to try this after hearing it had a Black Cherry note. it was an instant love. Dark, warm and smooth. The cherry has been done well in my opinion and not over the top. Probably my new favourite in the line

I find it fascinating how different people smell different things in fragrances. To me, this is the Scandal most like the more concentrated Le Male frags. Sweet and very nice. Certainly not super unique in the JPG family, but addicting in a youthful way, and worth having.

This is my second flanker in the scandal line. My first being the le parfum and its reminds me alot of the le parfum but with a nice cherry touch. For some reason it also reminds me of le male lover if it was a winter scent. 10/10 better than the le parfum imo

Review 01/01/2026 - Honest, Unbiased Review: Scandal Elixir (4-Day Test) This is simply an honest, sincere, and personal opinion based on my experience after testing this fragrance for four days. Fortunately, the perfume is still quite new and hasn't been overhyped or criticized on social media yet, so this review is entirely "influencer-free." I spent the first two days testing blindly without checking the aditional notes. However, because my scent experience didn’t quite align with the main accords list, I decided to look them up and decipher them. And Eureka! there were the additional notes I had been picking up. I tested it in various ways; on dry skin, on moisturized skin (with a fragrance-neutral lotion), on fabric and textiles, and with test strips. These are my findings. * Scent Experience At first application, i was hit with a bright, fresh opening (spearmint & camphor) supported by a candied lemon zest with a creamy black cherry undertone. It smells different on skin than on fabric, where the citrus and minty notes are sharper and linger longer. After about 20 minutes, floral notes emerge that echo the original Scandal DNA, but these are short-lived. After 45 minutes, the fragrance transforms into a warmer, slightly sweeter scent (vanillin, tonka bean). Here, the black cherry becomes more prominent, wrapped in a light veil of amber and patchouli, resting on a sun-bleached bed of cedarwood and hay. The perfume is well-blended, meaning none of these supplementary notes stand out individually. It remains this way until the end, which consistently gave me the same results over 4 days of testing. On dry skin, it lasts about 2 to 3 hours; on moisturized skin, it reaches a maximum of 3 to 4 hours. It lingers much longer on clothing—up to 10-12 hours—offering occasional wafts of cherry with a slight orange edge and a slightly more noticeable patchouli. * The Verdict Is it an enjoyable and fascinating perfume? Absolutely. However, the main—and perhaps most significant—drawbacks are the projection and sillage. For an "ELIXIR," they are surprisingly moderate. On my skin, the longevity is only 2 to 4 hours max; I had to press my nose against my arm just to catch a scent. At €81.89 for 50ml, it isn't exactly cheap. * Am I disappointed? Not regarding the scent itself, but i wasn't blown away either. There are other fragrances that offer more bang for the buck and outperform this one (for example, Mugler’s A*Men Fantasm is ten times stronger). While it's a nice scent, i don't think i'd buy it again. * Final Score: A solid 7/10 Perhaps my score and opinion will change over time once the bottle has had some time to mature (though, ideally, that shouldn't be necessary). *Update 19/01/2026: Ash from Gents Scents made a video review that perfectly describes the perfume, except that the longevity on my skin is not that long.

Quite similar to the Absolu, but just as good for its category. Not as intensely sweet as you would expect from a cherry-starring scent. Could be considered more feminine for a few minutes in the opening, but you wouldn't easily imagine this on a girl, it's too much of a "JPG tonka fboy clubbing scent". The cherry note is very prominent and sweet upon spraying, it's not like cough syrup or ice cream topping, more like a maraschino cherry or a liquor, it instantly starts evolving to a vague bubblegummy sweetness (like the mirabelle in the Absolu which is also like the Plum in One Million Lucky), and returns in the early drydown to a darker thicker cherry which pairs nicely with the tonka. The mid and drydown are fairly similar to the Absolu, all that's missing is the woody nutty accent (the faint patchouli is used here to contrast the sweetness). The tonka is vanillic and the same as in other Scandal flankers, and it's all you get in the late drydown. Projects for an hour or so, stays on skin for 8+ hours, don't expect a room filler like other Elixirs though. The early drydown where the cherry is still alive is the best part. You definitely don't need to rush testing or buying this, it's just a good flanker. A lot of people will still choose the Absolu over it. It sure wins the match with SWY powerfully for the best use of a cherry accord in a mens designer scent, but it's nothing that will change perfumery.

It's good but does lean on the generic, modern, tonka-heavy side of things. Opens aromatic with lots of creamy tonka. Vanilla heavy, very modern, sweet and pleasant. Vanilla is kinda like custard. After an hour coniferous woods along with something floral develop. Has some muted spices, feels airy - as in fresh air/outdoors. Remains very clean, musk heavy and even a little minty. On skin turns "malty," balsamic, and eventually smells of rose. Finally there's citrussy tonka with creamy orange blossom. (Don't get a lot of Cherry, it's there if you sniff for it but this isn't a cherry-forward fragrance IMO.) Modern, more masculine but essentially unisex. Better for cooler weather, night or day and good for dates. Feels youthful, ages 20+. Performs well, has a great balance of warm and fresh notes. Overall I think it's a winner, the drydown is near perfection.

This was a blind buy for me as I love cherry and saw it on sale recently. You get a nice burst of slightly tart cherry in the opening. The floral and herbal notes like patchouli, lavender, and spearmint give the fragrance more depth and prevent the tonka base from being too sweet and cloying. It is definitely still a sweet fragrance but not a gourmand by any means, I can see where people are coming from with the dryer sheet comparison. The performance seems pretty good and it lasts for a long time as a skin scent. I think this fragrance would really shine in cold weather. Overall I like it but I would recommend trying a sample before committing to a full bottle.

Cherry not a sirupy one but well blended giving a hint of recognizable cherry sweetness. It is slightly aromatic (from clary sage) which prevents it from becoming too sweet, allowing it to be a fully unisex fragrance. All of this on a base of tonka bean. Among all these quoted notes, not single one is distinctive (more proeminent than another) but rather all well blended. I would say it is pleasant and fits both women and men. Performance is average. A like to me

This one surprised me , cherry well balanced here, remains strong but not intoxicating, dry down is smooth I get patchuli, could stain the shirt so be careful other than that it beat Valentino Roma and Versace eros in a test , 8.5/10

The smell is good I don't really think this gonna have any hater (maybe sum of can find mid). Cherry with vanilla is main part and it's good. It has a perfect performance and price meh. Cherry makes sexy.

For me i tried the new SWY and this one and the SWY lasted longer and smelt better mid and drydown, so i will get the SWY this Time. Best Scandal for me is still the Golden one and the Classic

completely irrelevant tbh. Just another flanker coming out just so a brand can have a scent with the current trending dna or top note, nothing unique.

It has a fruity, vibrant opening that later turns into woody tones. The ripe deep red cherry note gave me a sweet-sour and juicy feeling, and I realized again that I just can’t enjoy these kinds of fragrances long term because they start making me feel nauseous after a while. It felt like drinking a cherry powdered drink made with artificial flavoring mixed into water. It has this strange effect that almost feels like it irritates the inside of you a little. If you prefer clean, airy, fresh fragrances, this scent might end up feeling uncomfortable for you. It doesn’t really have an attractive side to me and overall smells pretty synthetic. I couldn’t enjoy it. Still, I understand why some people like it , it’s not a bad fragrance, it just felt a little too overwhelming for me personally.

If you like the scandal line you'll like this. I find myself asking though like seriously what is the point of this flanker because the cherry is almost unnoticeable to the point that this really is just like every other scandal. The cherry is blended into the scent to the point that at times picking out the cherry is actually difficult. Like sure it smells fine but it's so similar to the other flankers that I wouldn't recommend this even if you specifically like cherry because you will simply be disappointed. Just get absolu or the original unless the price here is good for you. I came in hoping for a signature scent level of uniqueness in the line and it is actually just so redundant that I'm disappointed.

So much potential, it smells good but it also smells flat in a way. Don’t know how to describe it, i recommend getting the absolu version.

I tested it at Primor in Spain, and it’s easily the worst of the bunch. It smells the harshest and most scratchy, and it’s also the most feminine-leaning. The best is the Absolu, or go for the Intense if you want a more versatile option

Got a few sprays on the back of my wrist from the fragrance shop in the uk (this is the first day they’ve got it in). There is a very appealing fruity sweet black cherry note, that is blended well in what i’d describe as a three way split with the patchouli and tonka, with a dose of that scandal DNA freshness on top. Don’t duck this if you’re thinking this is going to be a super sweet cherry bomb like those in the tom ford cherry series, that may not be to your taste. The black cherry comes across darker, fruitier, less sweet and more well rounded in the blend. This is a solid masculine leaning fragrance. The patchouli is strong here but as you could expect of a designer fragrance, there are no animalic elements sticking out, i’m super sensitive to that note and it has put me off a few frags so I would pick it out. If you like a strong but safe patchouli you’re good here. From what I’m picking up from 2 sprays off the back of my wrist, this has projection roughly around that of scandal absolu possibly better, I wouldn’t call it a sauvage elixir nuclear projector, but it’ll give you the performance you’re looking for with this being marketed as a bold fragrance. This will last a long time with the patchouli tonka base.

Started with Scandal Parfum because I wanted the strongest version. Loved it. Dark, sweet, powerful, addictive. Then Absolu came out... and because apparently I have no self-control when chestnut gets involved, I bought that too. 😂 Honestly? Absolu smelled VERY close to the Parfum, just more airy and easier to wear in warmer weather. Definitely redundant... but still good enough that I was glad I grabbed it. Then Jean Paul Gaultier decided to throw cherry into the mix and call it Elixir. Well... now I had to buy THAT one too. And yep — it still smells like Scandal. The DNA is absolutely there. But the cherry sits on top like a smooth supporting note instead of taking over the whole fragrance. It adds just enough sweetness and glow without turning into cough syrup territory. Oddly enough, this might actually be my favorite version so far. It keeps the addictive Scandal vibe while feeling a little lighter and smoother than the Parfum. So now I own 3 bottles of basically the same fragrance family. Completely redundant. Absolutely unnecessary. Zero regrets. 😎

The original Scandal has a marketing description that says the Mandarin smell in it is supposed to be like the idea of a complete Mandarin crushed with skin, pith, pulp, seeds and all. I think this is what's they did with elixir but with cherry. I was hoping for a Tom Ford Cherry Smoke type cherry but darker, but to me it's a more realistic black cherry with woodsy/nutty and amaretto/cyanide notes that would come from the crushed cherry pit. In keeping with the Scandal "crushed whole fruit", the cherry is more of like if you took a cherry and chewed it with the seed, If you've ever done this by mistake you probably know what I mean, as I write this I realize the smell/taste of the seed is similar to the scent of cherry wood, which makes sense. I was disappointed at first, but it is growing on me. It seems pretty delicate too, as anything I've tried layering it with totally blows it out even if it's just a tiny spray of the other perfume. *it is growing on me. weird bug in fragrantica insisting on poor grammer.

Got this today (UK Based) and it’s my favourite ‘Scandal’ - Will update after a couple of days of wear but I can say I am really enjoying the scent so far. EDIT: So, I’ve spent a couple of days testing this new release and it’s my favourite from the Scandal line and I guess it’s because it deviates the most from the others in the collection! If you’re after a sweet cherry fragrance this is not it, it’s not sweet cherry, the note breakdown is true to its word, it’s a dark cherry fragrance with a lot of patchouli pushing through. The opening isn’t as smooth as Scandal Le Parfum, Scandal Absolu etc... it needs a good 30 minutes to settle on skin. Longevity is very good, I can smell it on clothing the next day, sillage is also very good. A solid release from JPG but definitely test it before you commit to buying a full bottle!

Ambery sweet scent with a cherry/cherry blossom note. A nice blend, the sweetness is moderate, less of a sugar bomb than previous Scandals. The cherry here is more noticeable than for example SWY Powerfully. The core Scandal DNA is still there but tamer than ever. I think this is by far the most unique flanker in the whole Scandal line which I think has always had this problem of each flanker being very similar to the previous ones. I think I would like this even more if they let the cherry dominate the scent more but overall it's a good, maybe even great scent, and a much better take on "cherry for men" than SWY Powerfully. Oh and fyi it stained the paper strip I tested it on so I'm sure it would stain white clothes too.

My sister has her internship at selfridges and managed to get me a few samples by unchivalrous ways and yes, a bit more mature cherry fragrance. I agree with scandal dna. I won’t rate this for Joe but will visit later When I first sprayed this I went downstairs to let my mum smell and before she could give her opinion I burst out in a rap; I can't, go out, sad about no btch Who me? Takeoff never mad about no btch Depressed need to get some off my chest, ain't stressed about that btch. She then slapped me and told me : what the f is up with your weird ass fragrance hobby. I fled. Performance is about 1,5-2 hour projection and becomes a skin scent in about 6. Suites for cooler weather

I haven't liked any scandal so idk why I keep trying lol. Absolu is probably the only one i could even tolerate. This one is weird. Almost like a dark cherry cleaning product. Let me try again in the morning Edit: 6 hours later. This is so different from the other Scandals that it is dumb to even be in tjat lime. It's not vanilla heavy sweet. I like that aspect, the scent itself is just ok. I can see why people like it, the cherry is unisex but it lacks a supporting cast imo. The vibe I get is spraying cherry mio into a fabric softener. Narcotic delight is still my favorite cherry scent. I'm looking forward to getting swy powerfully this week to compare

Tried a tester bottle that a sales associate had behind the scenes. This is a lovely fragrance. The cherry is very noticeable and it’s quite a spicy fragrance. The patchouli is not a dirty patchouli and the longevity and trail is very good. In the dry down it has a nice sweetness but not sickly at all. This is definitely a great long lasting fragrance and ideal for the winter time. Purchased on The Fragrance Shop website and it’s one of my favourite Scandal fragrances in the line.

J’ai senti ça aujourd’hui chez Sephora, je l’ai trouvé assez bon mais je trouve ça trop sucré et trop écœurant c’est trop sirop pour moi personnellement moi j’aime beaucoup et je les possède l’absolu et l’intense sont les meilleurs pour moi mais si vous aimez les parfums très sucrés, cela pourrait vous plaire , le départ, on sent bien l’odeur de la cerise. Ensuite, le patchouli prend discrètement le relais et ensuite c’est une bombe de fève tonka ça quand même très synthétique

Think I’m gonna play what I call the Fragrance Roulette with this one: when one of the websites I buy from notifies me it’s back in stock, I wait 2-3 days. If it’s still in stock after 2-3 days, boom! It’s mine. If not, my finances are thankful for that. Edit: the finances lost this one. PS: Just got it in the mail and this is by far the best one in the line. This fragrance is the perfect example of why making flankers is relevant. PS2: similar in vibe to Phantom in Red.

🇧🇷📍 For me, this is Scandal Absolu, but reimagined as if the entire fragrance revolved around cherry, with that note as the main focus. In short, this perfume is like taking the DNA of Scandal Absolu and adding a smoky/incense-like cherry. It's a perfume that stands out from the Scandal line. Personally, I don't like almost any of the perfumes in the line, but I quite liked this one; very different and interesting.

The best Scandal fragrance in the line , the first one not smelling medicinal , synthetic and headache-inducing, nice cherry , booziness and that classy woody drydown , beautiful. the only downside is probably the cherry combined with other notes in the beggining smells a lil bit not put together , but after a few seconds that feeling is gone

Its the scandal pour homme right post puberty ! LoL It has grown to be more musculine , serious and dense but still keeps the sweet OG core. The cherry is black , ripe and glazed As a lady , i loved it and its one of few men perfumes i wouldnt mind wearing (beside Dior homme intense) , and i honestly prefer it over scandal elixir for women!
