Eva

Guess I'm the first to review Jeanne Arthes' Eva. I'd never heard of this perfumer. I came across one of his fragrances because it was listed as a "smells like" for another fragrance. JA fragrances have now become one of my guilty and cheap pleasures. I bought a majority of these fragrances as testers since they were all blind-buys and I wasn't sure I'd like them. The bottles for the "tonics" (Eva, Kate, Angie, and Nickie) might easily be ignored by older women because the perfume is listed as being appropriate for those aged between 15-25. The packaging also looks like it. The bottle is basically the bottom half of a lady in jean shorts with the name of the fragrance printed on the right back pocket. The model drawn on the box cover is also young. I say test the fragrances if possible before writing them off, as they can appeal to those who are older, depending on your body chemistry and the notes you are looking for. Eva is definitely a powdery floral. I've always stayed away from powdery fragrances because some are honestly sickening, while others are glorious. This fragrance has a nice blend of notes all of which lead to a clean, creamy, and soft dry-down. Eva opens a little sharp and that might be the lemon and white florals but it settles fairly quickly. I can't for the life of me figure out what that one specific note is that seems rather potent, and honestly, I'd prefer that it be a little quieter. It may be the litchi. I recall smelling it in some other product and disliked it. The sweetness seems to come from the cherry blossom, apple, and blackcurrant, while the smooth, creamy/warmer notes are from the almond, tonka bean and musk. I found that I much prefer this fragrance on my top. I sprayed it on my t-shirt because I was already wearing something else on my skin by the time I received it. Throughout the day I kept getting this whiff of something so pleasant and beautiful, only to realize that it was Eva. This was overall a safe blind-buy and I can tell I'll get through this 0.87 bottle fairly quickly. They are small enough to put in carry-on luggage which is super since I don't always like using atomizers. I doubt this would be a repurchase since there are many other JA fragrances to try out, but overall I'm pleased with it.

I honestly can’t pick out any specific notes in this at all it’s just sweet and generic, I was born in 2004 and for some reason this just smells like my childhood, like every teenage girls hair and body products mixed together lol. It’s a nice scent for when you just want to smell nice but I really don’t see this getting any compliments. I’m not really complaining at $5 a bottle but I just wish I was able to smell any of the notes because I literally can’t.

Sweet, fruity and so tropical. I 💕 it.
