Guipure & Sheer Silk

For some reason I get tea notes mixed with lavender. How peculiar. Some says that it is similar ro Libre, I don't own nor I am interested to compare it . It is a sweet lavender and musk scent to my nose, with an opening of tea notes that do not exist in the blend but I smell them. I wear it , just like I wear all the my other Jeanne Arthes perfumes

I am a certified big fan of the guipure collection, and this one is another good addition. It's definitely the more sofisticated of the four I've tried, and it's subtle but beautiful. The scent is a classic white floral, and to my nose it has a slightly lactonic quality that gives it character. I enjoy layering it with Lattafa Her Confession (or LI Blanche Bête when I want to treat myself) to really bring out the lactonic note. However, the performance is not great. Unlike the vanillas in the collection, the florals don't hold up performance-wise, which is a bummer. Like all the discontinued guipures, despite them being quite expensive resold, the performance does mirror their original budget status.

packs less of a punch than le parfum in every sense of the saying. less sillage, wears off in an evening's time. sticks to clothing. for the PRICE, though? an absolutely impeccable deal. libre LP without the commitment to a YSL pricetag! get it!

This is the first Jeanne Arthes I’ve tried that is full of the tar-like aroma chemical that’s invaded modern perfumery. I don’t find this one to be like Libre Intense or Le Parfum and to me (minus said aroma chemical!) this is more like the original Libre. La Rive make a much nicer dupe of Libre called Destinée so personally I’d go for that one!
