Guipure & Silk Ylang Vanille

I feel like a lot if reviews on this lil gem of a scent, are quite harsh and unnecessarily so. I bought this on a whim as it was being sold really cheap on Notino and then I let it sit unopened for about a year. Until I started feeling a bit guilty for having bought it and two other Guipure and Silk flankers and then not bothering with them. And much to my suprise; out of all 3 of those fragrances; this has turned out to be my absolute favorite. Why? The coconut 🥥!!! The coconut 🥥 note in this is just delicious and it's not the kind of coconut you find in a lot of fragrances that have a tropical vibe; reminding you of suncream or Pina Colada, not that there's anything wrong with Pina Colada. But this is warm, almost like a boozy liqueur, thats warm and ambery..Sweetly honied, with the most exquisite Ylang-Ylang, thats so pretty. And I cannot stop respraying it when I wear it, as it sits so well on my skin and clothes. Especially in autumn and winter. It might be a little bit synthetic, but only ever so slightly and it dries down quickly; leaving you feeling so warm and cosy. And there honestly isn't a coconut scent like it. I've just ordered a back up bottle that comes in a 100ml bottle giftset and I can't wait to receive it. As this scent is my most favourite guilty pleasure.

I was disappointed with this when I first got it, I was expecting vanilla and coconut but got slapped in the face by Ylang Ylang. Once I got over my preconceived notions that this was a vanilla dominant scent and started accepting this fragrance for what it actually is I came to really appreciate it. This is much more of a balanced scent with wood, musc and ylang all very noticable. Vanilla is there to round it all out and sweeten/soften it, but it's not the main character. This was really inexpensive (less than 5 euros) but both scent and performance is really excellent for the price. I doesn't smell cheap and it doesn't exactly smell expensive either, but I don't think that a smell has to smell pricey in order to smell great. This is my favourite out of the fragrances I've tried from Jeanne Arthes. The bottle is tacky, but okay for the price. GS Ylang Vanille layers really well with both Adam Levine and Kenzo Elephant.

This was my first totally blind buy online. I was looking for another scent and came upon this one accidentally, then decided "Why the hell not". Most of the main notes often appear in my scents of choice, but still I was a but anxious. Today, it arrived. The first impression was overwhelming coconut, which almost disappointed me. However, in about 20 minutes the composition developed into a delicious combination of vanilla and ylang-ylang with exquisite musky-woody undertones. I can't really detect plum anywhere, but I'm no professional. The scent is warm, sweet and vaguely exotic. It's unlike anything I've owned so far, reminding more of an essential oils mix than a mainstream European perfume.It's notoverpowering, but definitely quite noticeable, and it's been going strong for 4 hours now. By the way, it's very reasonably-priced as well. I would definitely recommend it.

Been wearing this beauty for a couple days now, and I have to say I’m completely in love with it! It bears some resemblance to Gold Sugar which I also enjoy, but this one is a bit classier and has better longevity. The ylang isn’t very prominent but I’m okay with that as ylang isn’t a huge favorite of mine. It blends nicely with the vanilla and coconut. I’m surprised to see plum as a top not because I can hardly detect any plum, not even in the drydown. This is more Oriental whereas GS is straightforward gourmand. Both are lovely but I think I prefer this one. A good fall time smell. Sillage is soft, and longevity won’t be more than a few hours, at least that’s how it wears on me. An added plus, the flacon is simply stunning! I’m a sucker for pretty bottles lol!

Oh my gosh! I didn’t put my hope high on this cheapie, I was actually prepared for the worst. I thought it could end up too sweet for my taste, too coconuty, too gourmandish.. but it turned out to be SO GOOD! The ylang is really prominent at the beginning, but just let the juice settles on your skin / clothes for a short while, it becomes less flowery after. Overall, the vanilla, ylang, and musk in this perfume are so balance, supporting each other, while the coconut’s presence is never dominating. And if you’re familiar and love how the vanilla works in Chopard Casmir or Cotty Vanilla Fields, then there’s a good chance you’re gonna love this perfume too.

I expected this to be light and summery due to the coconut and vanilla. But it's not sweet. This is a dark, dirty, slightly smoky vanilla. Very earthy, woody and balmy with just enough sweetness from the vanilla and creaminess from the coconut to keep it feminine. Mostly I smell the vanilla and the ylang. Plums I don't get. There's no fruitiness to this that I can detect. Costs nothing for a 100ml bottle so it's worth trying this range if you don't want to spend a fortune. It's best for those hot summer nights spent outdoors, a very seductive and sultry perfume. It also lasts forever on your skin.

im very stingy with my sprays bc im in a split-buying phase and 1. i dont want to accidentally spray too much if the scent is gross 2. if its good i want to save some for later. i had to re-apply this perfume just two hours later bc i wanted MORE. what a wonderful scent! its a bit tropical due to the coconut and the ylang-ylang, and the vanilla just makes it so sweet and cozy. i understand why people see this as a fall/winter perfume, but i want to go out and face the sun when i wear this.

I really like this perfume! In beginning it is too floral and synthetic smelling for my my taste. It dries down realtively quick into a soft, but still very present, sweet but a little spicy vanilla with some musk and ylang ylang. It smells flirty and young without smelling childish too me, wich I enjoy. It is kinda adictive to smell and I agree that it has a 90's vibe to it. For the price its a great parfum and it holds for a pretty long time on me!

I saw people's reviews on this, being a safe blind buy, and I LOVE coconut, so I thought what the hell, let's give this one a try. Thank you, for giving your opinion, this is wonderful and it made me so happy :3 I hate synthetic smells and I'm a rather picky person when it comes to fragrances, but this is not at all synthetic, and I'm definitely keeping it. It's a little beam of sunshine for dark times, a scent that brings joy.

I blind bought this because the love the OG Guipure. This is stunning, a true flanker. Its the OG with added soft creamy coconut and a demure hint if citrus that gives it an effervescence that is divine. I think its the effervescent vibe that makes it similar to Un Bois Vanille but UBV I find very sickly and heavy. Guipure & Silk is so soft, sweet but there is no harshness. I love it so much. So happy I got it

Creamy and sweet coconut-vanilla, i can't detect the ylang but i guess it present to give this juice a yellow flower nuance. To me it smells similar to FCUK friction for her, very tropical and beautiful. The longevity isn't very best (2-3hours) but 100ml is really a lot you can always respray liberaly.

After spraying, in the first 10-20 minutes, it smells like vanilla-coca cola on me for some reason, then it becomes a lovely vanilla-wood-coconut beauty. Only lasts for 6-7 hours, but I gladly refresh the scent, because then I can go through the cola phase again. Cheap, lovely I'm happy to have it <3

This is so nostalgic to me. It's very dense and creamy smelling. It reminds me of the blue tin of Nivea cream we had in the house when I was a child. But also of the pink labello lip balms I used to love as a child as well. When I wear it I smell like I just slathered thick lotion all over. The ylang ylang is most noticable to me. Ylang ylang is a note that I either really really love or absolutely hate. It tends to really take over a fragrance for me, but here it meshes well with the other notes, it's definitely noticeable, but not offensive. I don't get any coconut, but I am sure that the coconut helps give it it's smooth, creamy and dense feeling. This does not feel contemporary to me. It leans a bit mature, but I still feel that everyone could get away with wearing it. I do have to be in the mood for this to wear it, wich doens't happen all that often. But when I do wear it, I really enjoy it. It's very very affordable but it performs really well on my skin. Overall it's a like, not a love.

To me this is a yellow floral+coconut scent. The florals are pretty prominent and the coconut is more on the airy, powdery and dry side of coconut - so not super creamy or gourmand, more perfumey. It also has a nostalgic smell in my opinion. I wouldn't say it smells "vintage" or old school, but also it doesn't smell like it was released yesterday or super modern. Not a bad thing, I actually like it because of that. The bottle is a bit... clanky, but it's fun to look at. Performance is ok. I got bling bought this for super cheap, 10-15 euros, and for that price I think this is great. Personally I wouldn't buy this if it was 20+ unless I really liked coconut and yellow florals.

Really pleased with this blind buy cheapie. A well blended, warmer fragrance with lovely projection and dry-down. Smooth vanilla and the ylang ylang is not overpowering. A bit of coconut, soft, airy musk and deeper fruitiness from a discreet plum. Cedar balances the sweeter notes. The kitschy bottle is fun and uplifting but slightly impractical to hold while spraying. The spray is is a big blast. Moderate sillage/longevity, leaves a trail.

I don’t like licorice, but I love salmiakki. Salmiakki is actually licorice flavored with ammonium chloride, which makes that caramel salty rather than sweet. The border may seem like a haircut, but we in Finland eat a lot of salmiakki!. To me this one smells just like that. Definitely a summer scent for hot days, everyone near me loves this. Cheap and quite long lasting. 10/10

It's so nice scent! Amazing combination of coconut, vanilla and plum! So tasty for evenings or dating. It reminds me of Avon Far Away Gold. The same beautiful vanilla. The golden bottle is gorgeous. Longevity and sillage is excellent. I can smell it for twenty four hours on clothes. It's real oriental, heavy and tender at the same time. I really like the whole line of Guipure.

I bought this trying to find a replacement for Un bois vanille (overpriced, reformulated, weak). I see why this is considered 'close', but the powdery element of the original UBV I was looking for isn't there. It's half vanilla half coconut with a tiny touch of ylang if you search hard. Not a bad perfume though, especially for the price!

This is great! I got it because I love the original guipure and it made me want to collect them all, and this was a great surprise. The vanilla is very nice, if a tad synthetic, and for a budget perfume the performance is actually bewildering. No need to reapply during the day.

Funny, I've been wondering so long why Lattafa's Nebras is so familiar to me. Well, yes, the scent is not the same, but really "in the same family". So maybe it's time to give this up, I layered it with Demeter's Chocolate to say goodbye. A ridiculously good combination. Bye.
