Musc Ambre

It's ambery, musky, feels like a something from a haircare product for men, not in a bad way, but a hairspray or hair gel with a nostalgic musky scent. You can't tell individual notes except for the musk, smell that stays linear - but if it had a colour would feel like an ambery "brown" . I feel like this could be better suited to a man, not sure why a man in his 50's-60's and it could be a little bit sexy on him too , like a pleasant deep skin smell with musk. Clings to t-shirt or clothing better than the actual skin. It's DEFINITELY not Jovan White Musk, that's a different smell altogether if you needed something to compare, it's not it,you would be able to tell immediately it's not the same, but not bad for the price if you wanted something clean-ish not overly feminine, unisex, musky that stays close to the skin/clothes, but can't imagine teenagers loving it, more suited to 40-50-60 age groups.

It took a car drive on a rainy day for this one to show me just how pretty and sparkling it can be! This came as a pleasant surprise, as it didn't seem that great the first week - quite pleasant, musky, but nothing much. How to describe the impression it made on me today? Like a combination of white musk edt, with a white soap of the best quality... Maybe it's meant to be kept for rainy days?

Yellow floral is the first note you feel and then the talc. Finally the musk, which is not so present because the talc overlaps. A memory of tuberose is far away. I can say that it is not a romantic floral like roses but a happy floral. The powdery musk in this case, lights the part of the brain linked to memories and things that have passed. Like a hair spray expired.

This is a very cheap dupe for TBS white musk. Sillage is minimal but with poor longevity. Only lasts for 2,5 hours for me but the bottle is a practical 30ml and it's dirt cheap so it's still a win in my book. I'd rather buy this than TBS White Musk because the latter also only lasts 2 hours on my skin and it's much more expensive.

This corresponds to its name perfectly because it’s musky, and that’s the main note you smell all the way. If you aren’t into musky fragrances, this is not a thing to start your journey with: musk here is potent and you better be a fan. Because of the abundance of musk, this reminds me a bit of Demeter’s Kitten Fur – yet JA Musc Ambre is not as warm and animalistic. It’s more clean and powdery musk, even soapy in the opening. When you first spray it, it feels like you have just emerged from the bath and have just wiped the suds off your squeaky clean skin. In a couple of hours it transforms into musky talcum powder with a very light flower scent, continuing the feeling of cleanliness. Nice enough, but I don’t feel any bergamot or vanilla, which both of them I like and would welcome. UPD: The traces of vanilla are lingering in my hair the next day, but I cannot detect it earlier, it's totally overpowered by musk.

I've heard the name before and had 'Cobra' in my teens - got it from an aunt - so I jumped at the chance in Tkmaxx to own a little 30ml bottle for a mere 6 euros. Musk&amber, I thought, will be a total winner for I'm in love with both notes recently.. I must agree with the others before me - there is a bit of sharp hairspray in the beginning but fades quickly. I had to spray A LOT to get any scent on myself and I got an average of 2 hours out of it, although the scent itself seems to last a bit more on fabrics: I could clearly make it out on my jumper the next day. So longevity is not the best, on me anyway. As for the scent itself - I get musk and bergamot, no ylang-ylang whatsoever (or else all this time I've been mistaken about ylang-ylang) tuberose, bit of vanilla. No jasmine either, but again, the scent isn't strong so it's hard to make out the notes..Not ambery, but at some point it does make a synthetic amber impression. It IS nice, even though you must search for the point you sprayed it on.. I'd be a fan if it was a bit more potent and longer-lasting. I'll try it again in warmer weather, at the moment it is only a 'like' not 'love' and no intent to buy again.

The first time I ever sprayed this on I thought "This smells like some kind of hairspray!" It did settle nicely and I lost that idea. I don't think there's any season where this would be inappropriate to wear. It doesn't have monster sillage, really not a huge presence at all. It's just kind of a pleasant skin scent musk. It's one of those things that doesn't blow your mind, but(at least on me) leaves this scent where it's not even "perfumey" in a sense. It just smells like it could be my skin that actually smells nice. After an hour or two of wear, it's just this "my skin but better" kind of thing. A clean skin feel. I like the small and simple bottle too. It's elegant enough. The cap does not come off easily at all so it's perfect to carry around.

Impulse buy at Tkmaxx. Smells of nothing. Zilch. That'll teach me.
