Un Matin Dans La Roseraie

If someone would ask me currently, which one perfume I could choose to the end of my days if I could only have one it would be this. Not because it is an olfactory orchestra, or perfumery masterpiece, those I like to savour, but I could literally bathe in this. It's so easy for perfumaniacs become obsessed with endless chase of the new thrill of something unique, exciting, something special to feed the ever growing dragon of snobbery. As these turbulent times made us change our habits, or even changed our values and the whole worldview I return into the idea of the functionality of perfumery. I keep asking myself and others: 'Why do you wear perfume?' The reasons may differ wildly for everyone and I can't believe that when I used to earn my living selling high end nyche perfumes I never even thought of asking my customers this question, so now I can only assume what their answers would be. I can bet that for most of them it was to confirm their status, mark their teritory (yes, I mean the overspraying sillage monster wearers), appeal to others or simply make themselves feel better about themselves. So why have I been wearing Un Matin dans la Roserae mostly for the last 8 monts? The answer is in the thick layers of PPE and the grueling (many times literally physical) labour in a Covid-19 laboratory for 12 hour shifts. I keep reading people saying how it lacks longevity, and I just want to laugh because I can smell it for the entirety of the 12 hours and more, with only 2-3 sprays. It brings me consolation and escapism and I feel like clean and fresh fairy in the damp rose garden, and not a sweaty frizzy human pickle.

Do you remember discontinued Pur desir Pivoine by Yves Rocher? This one cutie very much reminds it! First minutes Un Matin Dans la Rosarie smells very special, more like freshly opened wet boutons of roses in the garden, but after 15 mins or so it starts actually pure pion. (that is how I feel it). Yes scent is quite close to the skin, but lasts somewhat around 1,5 hours. So longevity is not enormous, but not like body mist. Here you get longevity of eau de toilette. (which is good enough! For such lovely bottle, lovely scent and lovely price!) I put "LOVE" for this one. P.S: Also reminds "Evidence" by Yver Roches, but Evidence is mossy, while Un Matin dans la Roseraie has Angelica note.

Up there definitely and so reminds me of and at a fraction of. Those terribly expensive cedrat au en GIVENCY. Yes worth the $15. Aussie smacka's yesterday at Trade Secret gift packed with a large perfumed soap and body lotion. Oh la la. Viva La Jeanne Arthes, avec en Provence. Cheer T.

A beautiful pretty rose, from Grasse, that actually smells of roses.. Not too sweet, the angelica and camomile make it more interesting and the cedar base keeps it fresh. Its a love

I bought this perfume in blind-buy because I read great reviews and it was very cheap, not expecting anything special or even expecting the cheap reconstructed rose of so many perfumes, but it was not the case. When the lovely bottle arrived and I sprayed it in the air and on a paper I was awaken up. UMDLR woke me up! No cheap lab rose, no piercing geraniol passed off as "rose", no thick powder... not even a lonely rose! This is more of a clearly artificial smell that gives back the idea of a garden when the rose lives together with so many other plants. It smells vegetal and I think it's the angelica with it's gently musky and herbal note that later becomes more powdery without screaming POWDER! The opening is powerful, a bit brain hammering and chemical, but it only lasts 1 minute and then it already gives the whole idea of the scent, which is not just rose, rather a cold fresh rose smell with a touch of lily-of-the-valley, an astringent citrus-like edge given by pink pepper and the dominant but gentle musky powdery angelica. I also smell something metallic but not disturbing. Within 30 minutes it doesn't change much but it fades and becomes less banging on your brain. I guess it changes on different skin chemistry. I wear it for myself, because my husband doesn't like it. I understand the review below. UMDLR smells good! Good, feminine, almost elegant but liberating and clean and inexpensive! The longevity and sillage are ok for me now in autumn with only 3-4 sprays. You can smell it and people around the wearer can smell it even with just one spray. It's a perfume that grows on you. When I bought it in summer it seemed short-lived, but strangely enough it gives its best with a slightly cooler weather and it gives off that clean pink pepper vibe that makes it a bit similar to EL Pleasures. On a synthetical fabric lasts more and becomes a bit sweet powdery, while on my skin it keeps more vegetal.

I sprayed this on my arm in a supermarket the other day and I liked the top. Then it lasted for several hours, and is a convincing EDP, for 2022, rather than a supermarket EDT. It's fresh and garden like. On the other arm I sprayed a Cassandra rose fragrance, but can't remember which one, from Jeanne Arthes. The Cassandra lasted 15 minutes, tops. I love the tacky-gorgeous retro look of Cassandra bottles and packaging. They look like dime store fragrances from the 70s. I wish Un Matin Dans La Roseraie came in the Cassandra bottles. For example a pearly pink and green bottle. I would buy it immediately. If you see it, why not give it a try? You don't have to buy it, but if you want to, it's 10 bucks. I already know 10 fun rosy floral fragrances that can be found on discount sites for 8-16 bucks, but respect to this fragrance being in the supermarket and being more than credible.

I often get compliments when I wear this! In colder climates it tends to feel kinda air freshener-y, but it's a very nice floral to wear on the hottest of days. The packaging is misleading though! The box should be green with lily of the valleys on it, not pink with roses. I sense very little rose in this fragrance, it's mostly wet leaves and white flowers to my nose. I like it for what it is. If you're looking for a more soft/prominent rose fragrance for the same price I'd recommend Cassandra Rose Intense by Jeanne Arthes.

Fesh rose, so perfect and light, natural green with the touch of sweet chamomile tea. It is like smelling the flower from the tree, with the greenness of the garden all around. Not a big staying power? Not so sure : I heard people next to me wondering what is this « marvelous scent », and I like to reapply my perfumes, anyway. It’s a calming gesture. Ed: such an easy and pure style that I could understand people who could use it as a signature.

Lovely rose perfume, it actually smells like early morning garden full of flowers in summer. For the price this is no brainer. I do not know if this was reformulated, but I have a different notes on the packaging. I checked the official site and the notes are the same as on the packaging. Top: Green Leaves, Lily of the Valley, Angelica Middle: Rose, Jasmine, Rose Berries, Carnation Base: Cedar Wood, Amber, Musk

Son prix est tout petit, il a un joli nom et j'adore le visuel avec le camée, les fleurs, les rayures, esprit vintage trop mignon. L'odeur est tout aussi romantique, mariage de la rose et de l'angélique, c'est printanier, frais, féminin, délicat sans être mièvre, pas du tout vieillot ou chimique, actuel. La tenue est un peu légère. Un joli petit parfum qui vous emmène dans un jardin.

The perfume in two words : dewy rose 💦🌹 The beginning is green with the hint of green spicy blackcurrant leaf and angelica. Later, I smell the herbal vibe - chamomile. It is fruity, too. In the official notes there are rose berries in the perfume. It is the soft scent, but it lasts long, especially on my hair. I wear it during hot summer weather.

great perfume. very floral, fresh. absolutely made for summer. strong yet inoffensive rose scent, with a hint of chamomile, angelica and lily of the valley! it's pretty usual so i wouldn't recommend it if you want a unique scent.

so jealous of all the people here saying it lasts for hours on them! it's a lovely perfume, crisp cold rose and stem juice. i spray it now and then on my bedsheets, bc as far as i'm concerned it performs like an air freshener

fruity natural smelling rose...it does not last long but costs fraction of what similar synthetic smelling frags with similar brevity ..no brainer for a rose lover like myself!!! safe for a blind buy.

I like wearing this fragrance together with ORIFLAME GIORDANI GOLD INCONTRO or YVES ROCHER COMME UNE EVIDENCE L'EAU DE PARFUM. It gives them some freshness and a sparkling rose-vibe...

Simple, fresh and airy. Makes you feel like you’re walking in a pink rose garden. Very beautiful scent, stunning bottle. Too bad the longevity and sillage are very poor. 7/10

I really like the scent. Some ppl irl have told me it smells like a grandma but i don't mind. Wish it lasted longer than 11 seconds.

A lovely floral, but almost no staying power. It almost seems diluted.

Always looking for true rose scents. Sadly this just smells like fresh, herbal and a bit of musk on me. No rose, no white flowers. More like a summer garden after morning rain. You break off some crisp green stalks and stems and its exactly that smell. Pleasant for a fabric refresher but wouldn't use it as an EDT anymore.

Very natural rose, not overbearing, slightly herbal with the angelica and chamomile in my opinion. Gives it a real rose / green feel. The fruit makes it more girly upbeat especially upon drydown.

Very beautiful floral, a splendid copy of all famous EL Pleasures. Try it, an extremely good bargain !!
