Saphir Du Bois

When I first purchased this fragrance, it had a strong & smoky note in the beginning and couldn't smell anything else but a light scent of the apple. I let this sit for about six months and recently wore this fragrance to work and received 5 compliments in one day. The apple note is very prominent against my skin chemistry at the beginning in addition to the smokiness. It has a spice that plays so beautifully with the vanilla. Its good for layering with other fragrances, especially vanilla fragrances. It's so unique that upon initial spray, it did lean more for a man, however when I let the fragrance sit and wore her again, I leans more unisex so that a woman can wear this as well.

Really well blended, very harmonious notes of which there are a lot. This fragrance opens very sweet, then that sweetness fades to a soft warmth. A pleasant surprise of this house and very promising. I don't even have to mention that the emphasis here is also on perfume boss Nathalie who did a great job here. Well done to both!!

I just received my bottle of Saphir du Bois and I’m going to need some time to understand this complex tightly blended fragrance. I’ll update this later with more time. 1st impression - Bright synthetic pulsing neon apple and and some floral notes, loud in your face and interesting up front. The notes continue to evolve quickly, with the neon dimming a bit in favor of subtle spice and then the ambergris and musk come about. There is a presence of oud but it’s faint, and harmonious with everything else going on. Later on, some flowers crystallized in sugar floating on the subtle sweet smoke of the musk and light fruit remaining, but I wouldn’t call this overly floral or sweet or overly anything really. It’s balanced. I’m impressed. Not sure why but this seems like a great fragrance to wear while in a leather jacket on a fall or spring night. Safe-ish blind buy if you like the notes, and a fantastic price point for the quality.
