Near Dusk

Everything what is already said is so much accurate :) She is really feminine, playful, a good deal, it reminds of her perfume- J, has some masculine moments because of the aquatic note but is all together a feminine perfume which is really wearable all year around. I imagine a woman in a purple dress.. walking on the beach at dusk.. the wind is playing with the dress and she is having her sandals in the hands and the feet in the sand... :) She is more a indor perfume, it doesnt habe the straight to warm you outdoor, but indoor.. u get a lot of notes, a hint of coconut, a blast of pepper..and teh beauty of the flowers in the dry down :) i was looking for a sharper perfume so this will be my everyday perfume :) The dry down still has this hint of aquatic salt breze-love it ! same as Jennifer.. beautiful, quite and still ... its not screaming like versace-bright crystal . The pepper is not too strong like CH 212; the dry down is warmer than J, with less vanilla which I prefer. It has also moments of Hermes-bleue and YSL -mon paris intensment.A perfume for every woman. I love this type of quiet beauty :) The purple colored bottle fits it so well . Some say it's similar to sun DI Goa.. I will let you know about that too..She is not screaming sweetness like all the other perfumes right now on the market and... is really mysterious.. unfolds herself slowly.. but perfectly...

This was a blind buy based on reviews and I am so pleasantly surprised! Out of all the celebrity fragrances I own, this one is my favorite. I have to agree that this one will likely be her best-selling fragrance. As others have mentioned, this smells like a high-end and not a celebrity fragrance. The notes are incredibly well done leading to a beautiful, sensual, and warm scent. I would have no qualms gifting this to anyone, as it appears to be the type of fragrance that could work with most all body chemistries. If not well done, orange, coconut, and vanilla notes can come off smelling very cheap, sickly-sweet, and synthetic. The coconut, amber, vanilla, and orange blossom in this fragrance are simply beautiful. The longevity is not that great, it doesn’t last a whole day without reapplying, so you may need to spray and re-spray your top. The sillage is also moderate unless you use a heavy hand with it. This is well suited for summer weather, though I can see myself wearing it throughout the year. There are very few perfumes in my arsenal that I've repurchased and this will be one of them.

I got a set of all her 3 fragrances (3 rollerballs, 0.3 oz each) for Xmas & I have to admit that Near Dusk is my favourite. I fancy the fact it's not flowery, very relaxed, low key, a bit sweet and salty as described. I am absolutely in love with it! Can't wait to wear it in summer. While some oceanic scents tend to smell clean or masculine, but not this one - it's warm and subtle, really well balanced. The name most definitely matches the idea behind it and the final product. I find J being a bit sharp on my skin, yet, I don't have this same problem with Near Dusk. The perfume in this small rollerball will be gone before the weather gets warm, but I plan on buying a 1 oz bottle at least this one, yet, I may get a full-size bottle of other 2 scents. I applied all three scents on different areas of my arms before going to bed and even though Near Dusk is the softest of the set, it was the only one I could still smell the morning after. Looks like JA improves the longevity of the product with each perfume. Very well done, Jennifer!

This is a gorgeous clean, incredibly soft, and ever so slightly sweet scent! I absolutely love this but if only it had a stronger projection, I think the cold weather here in Canada doesn't help. I don't get any florals in this fragrance, but mostly a musky coconut with a clean sheets kind of feeling. It's like if you went to the beach and then came home and laid on your bed with some sunscreen still on your skin, it's clean and inoffensive, something I'd wear at any time, any place. I've sprayed it only an hour ago and I have to really dig my nose into my arm to smell it so it's gonna be one of those "bathe myself in it before I'm out the door" fragrances. It's not like Beach Walk beachy, but a softer version with a tiiiny hint of aquatic notes. I LOVE Versace Crystal Noir but the coconut disappears on my skin so I'm hoping to layer this and see how it goes! I'll update in warmer months!

I recently ordered a roller-ball of Near Dusk from Kohl's online - finally it was showing up on their website. The opening feels similar to me as "J" and yet there is more here too. I like the opening sea salt and coconutty vibe a lot. I pick up the florals here but not individually or strongly, I just know that they are there. This perfume is stronger than JA and J, and yet it's not a heavy scent, either. I think the name is perfect because to me this is what I would smell like after a day at the beach, a nice shower and a soft beachy vibe perfume to finish off my evening. This is definitely wearable by day, too. I have been wearing this in the evenings and I do note that I can still softly smell it in the morning when I wake up. I really love this perfume!

In the beginning, there is an alcohol smell to it, but if you wait for a minute, the smell is quite amazing. Really nostalgic and unique and smells like a high-end perfume, even better than some if you ask me. The performance is also wonderful. I'm in love with this one and it's such a shame you can't buy it anymore. It may give a headache to some. It is a really calming smell. I like this a lot and feel in another dimension with this one. It makes me wanna escape this world, spread my wings, and fly into heaven or the universe. If this perfume were a song, it would be Knocking On Heaven's Door by Bob Dylan. I still can't believe that I won't be able to repurchase this one.

This is really nice and although smells so familiar, is unique. I sprayed this and compared it to the similar scents. This is a mix of Rihanna rebelle without the harsh note that makes it unbearable- although that note is in near dusk it's calmed by a note that makes this like Kate Spade live colorfully. Then it's also mixed with a top note that's in another similar fragrance which is Hollister wave 2. So this is a perfume mix of top notes Hollister wave 2, heart notes Rihanna rebelle, and base live colorfully. Blended together makes near dusk. Its a good one. I'd actually replace my Rihanna rebelle with near dusk. It cannot replace live colorfully though.

This was a blind buy for me, and wow, I am so glad I have this in my collection. The coconut in this smells like it has been freshly harvested and bottled, along with a few drops of the ocean. Sweet vanilla, slightly oceanic/salty coconut goodness - I don’t get many of the floral notes, which I don’t mind, as the coconut is so beautiful and takes center stage. I’ve worn Near Dusk on a date, at work, in the winter, running errands, and while lounging at home. Such a versatile, lovely fragrance. One of my absolute favorites.

Holy moly is this stunning! This is simply one the sexiest summertime fragrances I have ever smelled. It’s not a typical summer or beach scent in that it’s not cloyingly sweet nor does it smell like sunscreen, but it evokes a beach quality. It’s also floral and musky in understated ways and it feels like the perfect scent to wear to a dinner on the beach under the stars. Cannot believe the price point for this level of sophistication and beautiful blending. To die for!

I just received a roller ball of this. I LOVE it! Love the coconut, musk, slightly sweet with just a touch of vanilla. I am so over flipping vanilla, seems like it's in everything but Near Dusk has just a touch of it. Reminds me of sitting on the beach in Bora Bora watching the sunset. Great blind buy for me!

**My review is for the fine fragrance mist of this perfume** This is a great summer scent!! The main notes I pick up are lots of jasmine,nectarine,vanilla with hints of coconut and musk. On me this is very long lasting.....longevity and sillage are both moderate on me and I really love this perfume!!!!!!

I like this the best of all the Jennifer Aniston fragrances. I get mostly peony and coconut from it. Many people like J the best (the blue one) but the peony coconut and vanilla in this make it my favorite.

Love at first sniff! I had to have it immediately! It's just so....me. My only complaint is that it's not that strong. Oh well, might be good for very hot/humid days here in Texas.

Very nice, vanilla, coconut (neither overpowering though). Jasmine. Not all sweet. I get the sea salt vibe again like her previous fragrance.. Lasts quite a while too. I like it.

Love this! Seems like a lighter variation of Alien, which I love but is very very heavy and special occasion. This way I can get a bit of it without it being overpowering. Yum!!

Night in the summer. On a beach. Sitting on the sand. Beachy smell all throughout the air. Drinking cocktails with fruit on the glass. It is SO good.

This is really good. It smells of seawater, sand, and a little coconut. Very long lasting too.

After wanting to try this for several years, I won a rollerball of it in a giveaway. I tried it and liked it okay, but didn't really give it a full wearing. SO this past week I decided to really give it a decent wearing and do my review. This is a gorgeous, more mature coconut scent. It starts out a touch sharp from the musk, but that's what makes it a bit more grown-up, I think. After about 10 minutes it's quite close to the skin, but again, this is a rollerball application. Spray might act quite a bit differently. It does remain present for a good amount of time. I had it on for about four hours and it didn't die away during that time, so that's somewhat impressive. To me, it's a sexy, youthful scent. A bit playful, a bit naughty, a bit innocent, a bit serious. A touch of spice deep inside somewhere. It's really not sweet at all beyond the sweetness of the coconut note. After about 20 minutes on the skin, it becomes a bit salty and quite a different composition where everything melds into a single experience rather than separate notes. This is where it becomes a "skin-but-better" scent. This review was written when I didn't have access to internet, so it's my actual impressions without the notes in front of me. I think it reflects the actual note pyramid quite well. Overall, I am seriously considering this one for hot days when I just can't handle anything really heavy, but when I want something more warm and sweet. I don't know that I need it given the other fragrances I have, and more importantly, I think there are other fragrances I'd want MORE. But this one is certainly going to get some wear once the heat gets really bad in a few months. Overall, I'd give it a 3.5/5 rating.

A soft, pretty, unexpectedly subtle fragrance. I just have a sample, but I'll probably use it all up and keep my eyes peeled for a bargain down the line, since I read below that this is discontinued. I totally get the pencil-shaving smell on the drydown from the "white woods," but I happen to love that smell, so it's only a plus. (I'm a writer, so it smells like productivity to me.) The jasmine is very nice--realistic but not too heady or indolic, and the sea-salt air accord helps temper the sweetness of the jasmine with the peony and orange blossom. I can already tell the duration is going to be rather on the poor side, but I enjoy it as a skin scent. Violet isn't listed as a note, but I get that feel--maybe it's just the name of the perfume and the sunset-at-the-beach vibe. I was expecting the coconut to be more pronounced, but I like the way it smells more like fresh coconut than coconut suntan lotion, which is what I was expecting from the packaging. Update: I really like this, but I will pass it along to a friend who might also enjoy it. It's a pity that I didn't buy a bottle of this fragrance when it was still widely available; now I see it only in body-spray form or used on eBay or at inflated prices. I do like it, but it's similar to several other scents I have with better longevity. I still don't smell the coconut as much as one might expect, given its place on the pyramid, but maybe I just don't smell the fresh stuff often enough!

DISCONTINUED FRAGRANCE REVIEW NO.#18 / 10. Time for another Jennifer Aniston perfume review, eh, my Perfumites? The bottle is divine! Make no mistake: that purple hombre effect just titillates me - for no good, discernable reason. It just does, and I must accept this as fact. On first spray this is a pink pepper BOMB! Seriously, the biggest pink pepper explosion I have ever come across in a scent. Only closely followed by the exceptional (fight me) "Dot" by Marc Jacobs. It's almost enough to make you sneeze, but it mingles with coconut and cozy musk straight away, so your sinuses are safe. Is it similar to Versace's "Crystal Noir" (EdT? EdP? Who can keep up? The awesome spicy coconut one - you know which one I'm talking about)? Similar vibe, yes. The stinging sharp spice, the kinda dry coconut, and the warm musk. Although "Near Dusk" definitely dries down sweeter. "CN" is a bit more warm whilst "ND" is airier. It's not a harsh ozonic scent, but more marine - and that's the joy of sea notes. Either way, you will smell GLORIOUS on a (mid)summer's night(dream). Longevity is okay. Spraying on clothes is a good way to go, Perfumites. Sillage...needs work. This becomes a skin scent, but it's another one of those perfumes that feels like it was MEANT to blend with your own skin after you've emerged from swimming in the expansive ocean. I smell like a sexy mermaid. *** Kitty rating: 7/10.

I blind bought this fragrance because I have and love Chapter One from Jennifer Aniston. It didn't win me over at the first sniff, but the more I have been wearing it, the more I like it, so much so that this is now the one I would reach for every day, but I say to myself that I should also use others fragrances of my collection. There is something highly addictive in this scent. It is not particularly original or sophisticated but it is just subtly and deeply satisfying, and for this reason, addictive. Compared to Chapter One, this is indeed darker. If the former is a voluptuous white floral scent with aromatic, fruity and almost salty notes that envision the Californian coast during the heat of a sunny day, this one instead is a subdued white floral scent, with a distinguishable green coconut note, but also musk, amber and spices, so it doesn't feel particularly summery or beach-y to me but rather like a skin scent, quite in the vein of Versace Crystal Noir (original version pre-reformulation) but without that strong pepper note, or similar to EL Sensuous Nude but without that clean and powdery note. On me it is quite long lasting but, being a "nude" scent, it doesn't project much. It attracts plenty of compliments though and men perceive it as very very sensual or even sexy. Least but not last: the bottle looks indeed really nice in real life, way better than in pictures.

This is divine! I am so surprised and pleased. This does not smell like a celebrity fragrance at all. It's more like a high end designer fragrance. I get a beautiful jasmine with a very light tropical background. Very elegant and reserved. Nothing like the usual summer perfumes out there. I regret not having tested this one sooner. The jasmine here is to die for. If you are a white floral lover, you MUST test it! This perfume is classy and calming at the same time without being boring or dated. It would make a perfect gift for almost anyone. I think i will buy my mother a bottle of Near Dusk for her birthday. For this price, i am also not afraid to encourage anyone to blind buy it. Sillage is subtle but it still projects well enough. My only complaint is longevity, but you can't have it all. I think Near Dusk is a MUST among the celebrity perfumes, specially for people who usually don't like celebrity fragrances. Underestimate it at your own risk.

Near Dusk smells good, it's actually hitting the spot for me right now because I have really been craving coconut fragrances. It doesn't last that well - it's a skin scent after an hour or two, even if I spray a ton. It has more pink pepper than some of the fragrances it's compared to. It is similar to Crystal Noir and Sensuous Nude, but it smells less sensual? Like thinner, softer, comforting - but not sexy. Sweet coconut musky skin. To help with staying power, spraying a scarf might help. I used to own the original Jennifer Aniston, and to help that one stay all day, I would liberally spray a scarf - and that actually got it to the point where others could smell it. You'll run through it quickly, but I believe the scent cloud will be musky heaven. Jasmine comes out more in the mid to drydown, this jasmine is really beautiful - sweet and more realistic than the jasmine in Jennifer Aniston/Lolavie.

After reading all of the reviews on this one I decided to give it a shot. I found a really good deal on an 85 mL bottle for under $5.00 US I bought it. I really like it. I only smell the slightest bit of white flowers, stronger coconut, and a hint of musk. I had VIW and to me it is a sweet coconut but I wanted something a little more natural smelling. Near Dusk does just that. She is a beautiful natural coconut with that slight husk smell and fresh unsweet coconut meat. I would say it is like being on a beach sitting under a coconut tree. Very earthy and summery. I rarely buy a backup bottle of anything but I could see buying one for this. Longevity: close to 8 hours Sillage: arm's length Recommend: yes. If you like that husk fresh ripe coconut scent. Full bottle worthy: absolutely and probably going to get a back up bottle too.

This is a really nice fragrance. I wasn't a huge fan of her first one, as I found it too laundry fresh, or almost reminiscent of a dryer sheet. I don't think I've tried the blue bottle, her second scent, or I just wasn't impressed by the tester. This however, I knew from the first spray from the tester, that I'd have to eventually buy it. My husband got me this, and I'm loving it. I think it will be very nice for the summer, but definitely not limited to being just a summer scent. I can see why a couple people say it's similar to Theirry Mugler's Alien. I find Alien hard to wear, but this is very wearable. Even the bottle is pretty, and simplistic. I'm glad to have this, and if you find Alien a bit too strong(or a lot), you should try this. It's just lovely.

This is SUCH a good dupe for MM Beach Walk. I could not figure out what it was reminding me of - initially I thought MixBar Coconut Palm, but that wasn't quite it. Then I checked the dupes section and saw Beach Walk, so I pulled that one out and compared them, and yep!!! I'd say 8/10 similarity. The floral note is just ever so slightly different (the peony in JA's is noticeable), and I would say Beach Walk is slightly creamier, while Near Dusk is slightly powdery. I could see these being the same scent, but MM is the body cream and JA is the body wash, if that makes sense. Anyway! Gorgeous scent. A very cozy, romantic beachy scent. Wear this to the romantic beach getaway your man brings you on where you know he's gonna propose. 💖

Well... OK. So I read the scent profile and thought that I was going to love this one. I had her first and returned it, have her second (blue) and I do like it but it's one I wear for work or casual laying around times. I tried this one (purple) in Kohls and actually do not care for it. I was bummed because my favorite color is purple and I wanted this pretty purple bottle lol - it was just too strong for me. Her "J" scent is my favorite of the three. I will give this another try at some point and if I ever come across a good deal I may just as well purchase ;) You will def. get the marine and sweet scents of this though

Smells like luxury sunscreen, like you’ve just been vacationing on a yacht at sea. Coconutty, salty, rich jasmine. The vanilla, amber, musk and woodsy base is a foolproof combo. Wholeheartedly a summer scent. Surprisingly unique and niche for a celebrity fragrance. It’s a deep shame that this was discontinued. If your favourite fragrance is either Bronze Goddess or Crystal Noir and you are interested in buying a cheapie to throw in your handbag, grab a bottle of this on eBay or wherever else you can find it. You’ll enjoy it.

This is the only one of Jennifer Aniston's scents that doesn't just turn into boring dryer sheet/laundry detergent for me. I actually really love it and find it to be very well balanced for what it is. There is still the clean, fresh quality to it that characterizes all of her fragrances, but I do detect coconut, vanilla and white florals under the beach/marine/ozonic scent that gives it a summer vibe without screaming "pina colada" "sunscreen" or "aquatic bomb" Will be wearing this like crazy in the summer.

First, I have to say the longevity on this is pretty amazing. I wore this yesterday and this morning I can still smell it. I think the "dark beach" smell was captured nicely. I get coconut, but not sickly sweet or overpowering. It complements & works with the marine and musk. I love Beachscape because its so fresh and personally it says beach to me. Having said that I think Near Dusk is probably going to be the best selling and most liked of her fragrances.

Mild coconut supported by a pretty floral bouquet. None of the florals stand out individually, they seem to be well balanced. The sea note is also mild and just enough to be there without overwhelming anything. I can't make out any nectarine. No perfume-y smell, no sting in the nose or throat. I can breathe it in with no ill effects, that's always nice! It's all around very pretty and inoffensive (which I don't consider a bad thing).

Online I found a 50% full roller ball for $1.50. So I would be stupid not to get it, right? This is a likable smell for summer nights. Definitely worth the dollar fifty. Will not repurchase but will finish it. Edit: 2 years later I just tested this again since I got it. I actually really like it. Might even repurchase a full bottle when I finish and there are very few celebrity perfumes that I repurchase. This is a winner!

I tried this today at Kohl's and I LOVE it! To me it smells like a lighter version of Alien Eau Extraordinaire with a touch of salt and coconut. Weird but true. It is sensual, pretty, and sophisticated, very beachy. Longer lasting than her other fragrances, but still pretty light. Nothing weird or off about this fragrance. I want a bottle, not just a small roller ball. I predict this is going to be a BIG hit! A+

This is a creamy coco-vanilla, salty airy dream! Perfect for spring/summer. Great performance in high humidity. I don't get any fruit. Straight up luscious beach! Very close skin scent, which matches the salty note perfectly. Lasts all day on me as a skin scent. I was not looking for killer projection, so I am quite pleased with this one. Casual, relaxing. Frozen drink in one hand, toes in the sand. I'm there!

Salty lipstick. I read the reviews and expected a sexy coconut scent, but I don't smell the coconut. It opens sharp synthetic, with a salty blast. I was intrigued as it settled onto my skin with an added musk & lipstick aroma. But then it was gone in about an hour. I would've enjoyed this if there was more coconut and it lasted longer. Though I think as far as salty perfumes go, CK Reveal does it better.

Not a love but definitely a like. Pretty much what the reviews are stating - creamy tuberose coconut musk. The tuberose and coconut are extremely well blended to create its own scent. Got a 3.4 oz bottle for $6 USD. Not my favorite scent but easy to wear, great longevity, and not overpowering sillage. There are many worse scents that cost a whole heck of a lot more. Blind buy safe, I think.

This is a nice, summer evening fragrance. The notes are all clear to me and nicely done. The coconut, jasmine, vanilla, musk, sea water and amber are all identifiable. It’s sweet, but not overpoweringly so, and gets creamier and more ambery as it dries down. This actually reminds of a more beachy version of Estee Lauder Sensuous Nude. It has the same mellow, ‘balmy nights’ kind of vibe.

I cannot add much more than what others have said. I know some have mentioned a slight resemblance to Versace CN which I have had and disappointed me. I like this one so much better. Could be the salty, sandy beachy vibe that goes so well with the perfect coconut here. Can't beat the price compared to VCN either. This is subtle but lasts well. Glad I have it.

This is a lovely fragrance and very grown up. Its musky, beachy and spicy! This one is husband approved which is always a plus haha. This scent is more like what you would smell as the beach air flows over the flowers, grass and sand in the evening! I really love it! I love jennifer's scents, I still need to collect the blue one.

This on me is very light, airy, similar to J. Very inoffensive just like all the other fragrances by Jennifer Aniston. It's ok, but not something to remember. To me this smells salty, breezy, I can't detect any coconut, more tiare flower. To me it smells like a breezy airy version of Monoi de Tahiti by Yves Rocher.

I tried this tonight at Kohl's and I do enjoy it. I think it's really a pretty scent, but compared to some of the others that I tested tonight, it seems to dissipate quickly. I still think that I will pick this up sometime in the future, but not at full retail price.

I’ve been searching for a lower priced beach scent with coconut in it and I’m happy to say I’ve found it! It smells quite similar to J, with the florals and the aquatic, but this one has more coconut in it. This is going to be a lovely summer scent for me.

Mmmmm. I adore coconut and can rarely smell it in perfume. This one is coconut, musk, and salt spray. It's not too sweet at all. Lovely little perfume, would be very good for summer but honestly right now in winter it's a nice little pick-me-up as well.

I haven't seen this out yet. I have J and didn't like Lolavie on me (returned it). I will wait for a sale/coupon though unless I REALLY like this one which I have a feeling becasue of the notes ( I love amber and vanilla!) that this may be my fave...

Lovely summer fragrance that you can use for either day/night. Creamy coconut/vanilla that sits really well on skin. The florals mix well together with the coconut smell, like a beautiful bouquet. One of Jennifer Aniston's nicest creations

Surprisingly good. I get the coconut and base notes most of all. I see how it seems familiar to most people or in the same vein as Crystal Noir. Overall good, I only have a sample but if the full size is affordable I would def recommend.

I agree with you Jen, this is my favorite fragrance of hers so far but I haven't tried Chapter One yet, I have a feeling that could be a good one.

Like it, but the staying power is soooooo week that I will sell mine. I put a lot of it before a night out and I didn't smell at all :(

This smells as if Tom Ford's Eau Soleil Blanc and Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche had a baby with a hefty dose of pepper and a woody base thrown in. It's okay. I prefer those fragrances over this, though I'm not crazy about any of them. Personally, I like Jennifer's original fragrance and Chapter 1 & 2 more. To me, this is not worth the inflated price since being discontinued. One nice thing though, unlike Aniston's other fragrances, this performs very well.

There is something about celeb perfumes that have this weird note to me on the initial spray. I can't put my nose on it, but I can't ignore it. The dry down is lovely, but I'm not going to be able to keep this one.
