Glow after Dark

This seems to be a pretty polarizing fragrance based on the reviews. I have mixed feelings about it. I bought my bottle probably like 5 years ago, and liked it ok but never really used it. About a year ago I was like “hm, let me try this again.” And literally DUSTED OFF the bottle cause it had gone untouched for so long. This time, I loved it. I don’t know if it’s because my preferences have changed and evolved, or if the scent itself changed after sitting untouched for so long. I have the full size 3.4 oz bottle and it’s down to its last few mLs. I liked spraying it in my wet hair after a shower cause my hair would smell incredible for days and I could still smell it faintly on wash day (I wash my hair every 7-9 days)! It didn’t become my favorite fragrance but I found myself using it several times a week. That weird bug spray smell that some people talk about was gone. It was sparkling, dark and sensual fruitiness now. If I had to guess, I’d say the jasmine definitely takes center stage now. The white cherry and passion fruit is quieter now but I do smell cherry. It’s musky with a hint of woodiness and patchouli. The word “sparkling” is what comes to mind when I think of this scent and anytime I use it. I think I will buy another smaller bottle to use as hair perfume cause it works so well for me and smells almost.. better?! in my hair. This is not a safe blind buy though. Try some decants or see if they have a bottle to sample spray at your local drugstore or Walmart. I’ve seen this fragrance there in recent months. Definitely not blind buy safe though!

Hmm I kinda have a different opinion on this about the actual smell to anyone else. The opening? Yes...it's very fruity and with most of her Glow scents (Barring the original) which is nice.. the passionfruit is prominent. This kinda goes quite quickly with my chemisty and the dry down/dry stage is completley different. If you have smelled Love @ First Glow then..I would say that this is the most similar to that scent. It's a very youthful, very powdery scent. It smells like you've thrown a slightly fruity talcum powder all over your skin. The dry stage of Love@First has this same feel. It Smells very very clean and would deffo be good for clubbing because you always get a bit sweaty when you go clubbing. This would be a good clean smelling idea to make you feel not so groggy!! It's not my fave out of the set, Miami Glow is my fave but this one is probably a close second. The only one I havent' got is sunkissed glow. That's next on the list. I can definately say that all of these scents are nice. Not one is horrible in my opinion.

First off, more than one spray of this baby is lethal! I made the mistake of dousing myself in this when I first bought it and went into a coughing and sneezing fit! I thought I was gonna die lol! Anyway, this perfume is definitely a beauty! Unique and mysterious, I think! I can definitely pick up on the white cherry and passion fruit in the top. I personally hate the smell of anything cherry, but this is a well done cherry scent! In the heart I can detect the rose and creamy jasmine! This is a really creamy fragrance! I just love it! The heart is definitely musky and I have trouble detecting anything but the musk in the base. Overall a very nice, well done fragrance! I absolutely love the bottle and packaging! Personally my favorite bottle from the "Glow" line! I just love the metallic reflection it gives off, and the beautiful faux black stones on the charm! I would DEFINITELY recommend this fragrance!

OK I got a big bottle of this for $24.99 @ Ross and sprayed some on top of my hand. OMG! I must be crazy I smell ANGEL!! The drydown of ANGEL...or a very close relative that's for sure...this is magnificent! Holy cow..YUM...YUM...YUM..!!!This is OMG SEXY--crazy delicious... OK so I smell the fruity sweetness with that hint of tropical but its just so much better than that. I'm not good at notes, but it's like a dark fruit with sexy soft sweetness with musky flavor and something so sensual I can't get over it. This smells way more expensive than it was. There was one other bottle at Ross. I may have to snag that one up tomorrow as well. This is a definite keeper. I hope it lasts on my skin a long time. Definitely made for a girl...not in-your-face sexy, but a confident, subdued sexy. Good job JLo..

Oh yes, it smells like "Her Majesty the Night"! Straight, bold and uncompromising. Cold and sexy. It will sit for long and bright in hot midnight on a hot skin. It's not for the luxury, it's for the extravaganza. For the celebration of life in the middle of the sleeping world. Where stars is shine, splash of champagne, hot dances, magic of love and sex, which begins...after dark. Where there are no restrictions and conditions. P.S. I'd want to say one more thing. Girls, please don't spray it on the clothing. This is a fragrance for the body, it reacts with it, turning the composition in a sexually alluring elixir. The same time on the cloth, it's "hanging dead weight", leaving its heavy base.

I initially smell fruits-melon mostly. Then I smell chocolate and coffee on me when wearing this attractive scent! Reminds me of a coffee shop. I also get a little floral but not much. Although this is more suitable for evening wear, I did wear during the daytime as I rushed out of the house without applying a fragrance one morning. Lucky for me it was in my bag from the night before Otherwise I would have been fragrance naked and I must have fragrance! I sprayed a couple squirts and was good for the day as it is a stronger fragrance. I cannot tell you how many compliments I received, mostly from male co-workers. I love the scent-can't get enough! Wish I had more.

I hate hate hate the bottle. I think it is very trashy. i sprayed this out of boredom (because the current summer perfum is all sweet and/or fruity) and it surprised! The first time i wore it i was surprised by how smoky it was after an hour or so. The smoke was suggestive of incense. After i wear it a few more times, i pick up the fruity scent it has( passionfrite), the fruity scent mixing with smoky scent creats one of the most grow up (but not old or outdated), interesting and beautiful frangrance. It is heavier than usual summer perfum but not as heavy as say Jungle by Kenzo. It is special but not difficult.

this isn't the girly fruity floral that was Love at First Glow .. i got it today a large bottle as gift , i luved the silver bottle at 1st sight ! WOW the bottle is feminine, attractive, simple and mysterious ! not ordinary floral-fruity fragrance ,was thinking by the advertisement its kinda wild, sexy, breathless, and as a late at night, out partying .. Glow after dark is a clean , floral for few moments then its switch to being deep, dark , wild dominated by not sugared neither warm dark base .. it soft and velvety plush, more clean than not .. ! LOVE IT

I really don't mind smelling like perfumed soap or soapy perfume. This smells heavenly on my skin. Develops and blends so harmoniously with my chemistry. If your collection was made up of ONLY the original glow AND this one, yes.... You wear this one when the sun sets the other one during the morning and throughout the day. Otherwise this is perfect for a hot summer day. Thanks to this perfume I officially now know that my skin loves musk, rose and orange blossom.

A very sensual, sexy perfume. It is very heavy, so I only wear it occasionally at night when I go out and want to really make a statement. Love the musky scent. I used to wear it all the time in my younger days when I went out a lot ;) It was heavy enough to still be smellable over cigarette smoke in the clubs. Now that I'm in my 30s, I wear it only on special occasions. Definitely NOT a daytime perfume. I still love it though!

This fragrance is so dear to my heart. It was my signature scent from the very moment I started wearing perfume. I was 17, just about to move out to study law, and I still vividly remember how confident I felt every time I put it on. I’ve bought three back-ups, just to make sure I can keep cherishing those memories. To my nose, it smells very clean. Shampoo-like. Bubble bath with a sweet twist. It lasts forever.

My favorite part is the initial spray, where I smell cherries. They are soft, happy cherries, not sweet and not medicinal. Then the perfume settles into antique dried roses. At the end it smells like an old private library, dusty paper with a bit of armchair. This is one of the most soothing perfumes I own. Ironic, since that seems to contradict the marketing which suggests a sexy, glamorous, clubbing perfume.

I love this perfume and I am bummed because I am all out of it. On me this lasts forever and smells very clean and fresh. It reminds me of a vacation I took in Florida. There is just something really hot and sexy about this perfume. It is totally unlike any of the other Glow perfumes as in it is not super soapy or fruity.

It's perfect for clubbing, I feel so sexy and stylish while wearing it. This scent is warm, fruity, feminine, super stylish, and perfect for night, but it is not heavy scent. It's really perfect for young girls and fashionistas;) Spray it before going out- believe me- you will seduct all men in the club;)

Love how fun, flirty and girly this smells!! I just love sniffing it.. It does have some similarities to the original glow.. Warm and fresh at the same time but this one is more for evening wear and is sweeter smelling.. I only got the mini out of curiosity.. Am really considering getting me a big bottle!

I had this in middle school and I just bought another bottle. Brings me back to 2006 in the same way Midnight Fantasy does. It's fruity and sweet but in a unique way. Edit: I found my bottle from middle school when I was cleaning. It smells exactly the same as the new bottle. Impressive longevity

Is this limited or is she going to keep this one going? I can smell Miss Dior but it is also like black xs and beyonce heat in that it has a very thick fruity smell as apposed to her lighter previous perfumes. I just wish they were not limited editions.

I like it. To me this smells like combination of vanilla musk and pear. It's not like Jlo Glow more like strong tropical fruit fragrance with sweet notes. I think this is good for day or night and perhaps good fragrance for parties

This is a sexy summer night time fragrance. I love this one. It's a musky summer smell, leaning a sexy musky smell and definitely feminine leaning. It lasts awhile and projects far which is really decent considering the price.

my favorite perfume ever!! it smells so good and just has this 'kick'-- no "inspired by-" fragrance I've found could ever replicate it. it's sexy and not too sweet, perfect for day and night without being overpowering

I really like this one a lot. On me, it's quite strong and lasts for a long time. It is tropical and a little citrusy but still dark and sexy, which I like. I get a lot of compliments, especially from men!

Given as a gift 4 years ago, it's my all time favourite fragrance recieve so many compliments while wearing it, it really agrees with my skin. Very fruity and dark perfect for nights! LOVE LOVE LOVE it

Fun, flirty...always reminds me of hitting the town with the girls! Good staying power...the smell is hard to explain but its a delicious fun floral scent. Definitely in my top 5 favs of all time!

What can I say about this fragrance? It really got my senses!!!...I am fascinated by it, by its lasting power, by its scent, by its effects on everybody especially men... no more things to say!

glow after dark is my favorite of the glows! its crisp and cool! i love the white cherry and chilled notes! its so diferent, almost even unisex. i think a guy could pull this off.

The first 10min is unbearable, but but but The dry down is awesome, you cannot stop sniffing it after an hour or two of apply. longevity is more than expectation. 12+ hrs

A really nice, inexpensive fragrance. I wouldn't actually say it's for "after dark" though. it's a really nice warm floral smell that i find better suited to daytime.

Glow After Dark is very strong perfume you can really smell the muskiness and the passionfruit scent in the perfume. It is a very sexy taste of the nightlife :D xoxo

Its soemthing like whisky or soemthing alcholec...it's amazing and reminds me by my engaggemtn day...but unfornately it's doenst stay long on me...8/10

Mysterious, unrecognizable, a fragrance of the night. Besides you can wear it as on a Beach party as on the Royal rout. Its perfect fragrance!

Great Glow flanker! I get a tropical floral with a spicy background. This is so good. Sexy, day time and nighttime approved.

Got it in a giftset. it is very dark mysterious and sexy! I lvoe the smell. Oerfect for a night out clubbing!

Does give me a fruitchouli vibe, but more sweet than anything. I wish it was a little “darker” of a scent.

Smells like a less refined version of Euphoria

A fruitchouli that isn't overly sweet, but rather sharp and chypre-ish. Glow After Dark shares this characteristics with Chloé Nomade, but they don't really smell the same. I'm not sure about the difference between white and red cherries, but the cherry note is definitely there. Mixed with the passion fruit it's fresh and tart, it also reminds me of underripe plums somehow. It's not like cherry flavored candy, more of a naturalistic cherry note. The oakmoss is noticeable, but only as a supporting note to the patchouli. This does not have a vintage vibe. Like many J.Lo fragrances this contains lots of white musk. The combination of tart fruit, patch, oakmoss and this really clean musk can be a bit scratchy at times, especially in the opening. I also find the scent a little too shampoo-ish for my liking. But on the other hand there is a nice warmth in the base that balances the scent, and the slight sweetness of the cherry works well with the sharper notes. The drydown is more powdery and warmer on me, which I enjoy. All in all a good fragrance, especially for the price. Not what I would buy, but if you like clean fragrances and have no problem with a little more sharpness, it's worth a try. I don't really see this as a nighttime fragrantice, it could easily be worn anytime.

As my avatar suggests, I know a thing or two about the Glow line. I initially bought a knockoff of Glow After Dark (GAD) from Perfume Aromatics (before their supplier kicked them to the curb), and it smells EXACTLY like the real GAD. The only thing I disliked about the knockoff is how, an hour after the drydown, it would evaporate and leave behind this weird, bitter, dank, woodsy smell (minus the yummy fruits). The lack of longevity was upsetting, but I figured that was simply because it was a knockoff. Flash-forward to obtaining the authentic version of GAD. Better sillage, projection, longevity and everything. Better than the knockoff, but only slightly. The good news is it DOESN'T leave behind traces of dankness and bitter funk like the knockoff. To my nose, I smell a lovely amalgamation of dark chocolate, blackberries, plums and bergamot; very gourmand. My only disappointment with it is its longevity, which is two hours, at best. This was a huge disappointment, since the original Glow smells nice and soapy 12 hours later. Thus, I like Glow After Dark vs. loving it, and probably will not repurchase, unless it is reformulated.

The bottle: Looks like the original but the curve is not as big as the other bottles. I love the chrome look it looks like what the scent will be. Inside the bottle: Sexy, Fruity, Strong and Outgoing. When sprayed you get passionfruit, white cherry's and hints of patchouli. When it dries the florals and pachouli kick in! Longevity I say it will stay on forever(all jokes side) no really it will stay on for a long time which is a plus if you are looking for something that doesn't sweat off or last the whole day. Overall: This perfume is amazing if you looking for a sweet, earthy, floral. It's great for how long it will last. I know that this perfume is made for nighttime which I can see, but i think you can get away with wearing it in the day but when it's colder outside. I think with how cold it is it tames the patchouli and not so strong. If you love sweet smells but very picking with patchouli I would say thats the best time to wear it when it's colder because the fruits come out more then the pachouli. But if you love pachouli smell wear it during when its hotter because it will come out more.

Skin test. This kne was a sort of nothing when first sprayed, a touch fruity perhaps at a stretch, that sort of vacant smell you sometimes get when the top notes just don't do much on your skin. Then after half an hiur this one really opens up, I don't think this one smells like the early 2000s, this scent is powdery and warm. My opinion is this scent and Miami which I I also testing, both retain the dryish floral feel, and have different notes added in. The patch here leans clean and hides a bit with fruit notes that also lean dry, not screech like the OG Glow, I get more of the fruity notes the more I wear it, but driving home she was all powdery producty, and got a good sillage. I will keep it on and see what happens. Oh, this IS NOT like the Kim k fragrance listed under similar scents, it could have similar fruit notes in common but I don't think the overall smell is the same - I don't even relate the two. The patchouli here gives some depth without being dirty. It's soft rounded powdery and a little fruit and patch in the back

Wow . i finaly got to try this one and i realy like it . At first it is very sweet and a bit cloying , but after a wild it settles down on the skin whit almost a powdery feal or more like a velvety feal i cant realy explain.. This i unlike anything i have tryed . sweet and dark but still very bright and festive in a way . i can feal the white cherrys . At least that is what i think im smelling , sweet and alluring, the Passionfruit mixes well so i guess it is that one to:) But the flowers i cant feal to much off, it blends in in the background but i cant realy tell them apart from each other.. this is for festive ocations i would say , Or for thouse moments you want to lift your mood and dance a little :) For the bright moments in life maybe ..:) It isent somthing i would like to wear everyday. But still there is somthing in this that trigger my like button :) Thanks to Icekat for sending a decant

Preferences: Fruity, vanilla, watery, sweet, citrus (Will update) Perfume nose: amateur best season- all but mid summer day/night- night the age of the woman who wears it- 20's mid 30's the persona of the woman who wears it- shy at first then POW! Hello from new zealand! I have this perfume and the first few impressions i got from it is that to me, it smells like hot honey, very bold must be careful not to suffocate from this so use sparingly. no presence of sharp citrus notes. honey cherry musk in a nutshell. the woman for this scent IMO is sweet and shy.. at first, but once you get her going she is a ball! fun but not a daredevil can make you laugh though she is polite enough not to make you fall out of your seat.

I remember buying this when it first came out; it was love at first sniff. I loved it so much that it was always a repurchase for me. But as time wore on and I discovered different fragrances that I had never heard of before, Glow After Dark got put on the back-burner. I really miss it though; it was very sexy and the lasting power was incredible. I remember it being more oriental to me; yes, it's fruity and sweet, but it had this mysterious aura about it too. I agree with everyone else that it is perfect for clubbing, but alas my clubbing days have been over for quite a while, so this would be good for a beach party or at least a beach-themed party. Warm sexy summer nights is what Glow After Dark exudes. I think a revisit is on the horizon! :D

I received a bottle of Glow After Dark for Christmas. I really like it, I don't love it (yet). I specifically asked for this because it was voted on here as more of a winter related scent. I'll get into my opinion on that later though... In terms of the scent: it isn't particularly reminiscent of the original Glow. It's still quite soapy/powdery but is much stronger both lasting and silage. The passion fruit definitely adds a much more bitter element to it. The fragrance in my opinion warms into a sun lotion kind of scent which in turn contradicts it being a winter scent. This scent would be perfect for a lovely beach holiday or a night out clubbing. Perfect lasting and strong scent. Overall 7.5/10

This is sex in a bottle. The oak moss throws me off at times but I feel like its precisely this note that helps give it that dirty, sweaty, sexiness that I end up loving during the drydown continuation. This is loud, strong, and boozy as others mentioned. I can detect every single note. This is yet another perfume that Jennifer has managed to do very well and while it isn't my favorite by her, it was definitely worth purchasing. This is perfect when you want to feel a bit naughty, a bit skanky and I don't mean this in a bad way at all. Like I said, this is after all, sex in a bottle.

I love Jennifer Lopez perfumes. My main favorites are still, glow and Miami glow. I recently blind bought all of her fragrances not including jluxe and jlust waiting for the price to go down. Having confidence in jlo fragrances. I went for it, if you like the glow series you'll enjoy this scent. It's a deeper darker night version of the original glow. It's quite lovely replace the fresh soapy scent in the original with warmer notes. No artificial, tacky or chemical smell. Smells more expensive than its worth. Want something long lasting but not too intense this is it.
