Rio Glow

"Girl From Ipanema" Vibes... What to wear on Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana Beach: Lightweight, tropical & clean peach & orange-blossom. The orange-blossom here leans clean & tropical rather than creamy but has a faintly near-milky quality that supports the illusion of frangipani to my nose. Opens with a burst of peachy fruity florals that altogether give a tropical vibe with some green tones. That deepens into a floral heart of orange-blossom, plum & heliotrope with tropical, clean & fruity touches, riding on a floral support base of musk-amber-woods. The plum here helps to continue the tropical slant of the orange blossom which continues on into the drydown. Performance is on the lighter side but perfect for a hot summer beach experience, and enhanced by dark storage laying the bottle on its side following first sprays. Contrast to Aqua Allegoria Passiflora Guerlain: These are different, but there are some similarities with fruity/peachy-musky vibes. However, Aqua Allegoria Passiflora leans more watery & passionfruit, while Rio Glow leans more clean & green. Aqua Allegoria Passiflora has stronger performance. Update 07/21/24: I've come back to this one after awhile, and the performance has improved, although it's still average for a light spring-summer wearing experience. The orange-blossom is more forward than the notes suggest with clean, fluffy-creamy & citrus tones. This beauty really shines in the heat, with a clean-blossom like sillage for about 3 hours, and after that a skin scent. Love this scent profile, and each time I spray it I love it even more. Update 05/24/25: Sprayed this on today - needed more than one spray - about 3 sprays. This bottle doesn't age/oxidize quickly because of the long neck I think. Sillage takes 15-20 minutes to wake up but after that it's so lovely. Opens clean & green. Passing reminders of the original Glow by Jennifer Lopez. The peach is more of a peach blossom to my nose, and plum is an under-ripe green plum. A bit of milkiness. Reminders of the drink Orange Julius (which is one of my favourites) plus clean laundry/detergent. Love it still, and don't mind spraying a little more than usual. Tbh this is probably too light for most people, but for me it's just right - my favourite scent from JLo that I've tested. Overall: Lightweight, clean & fruity-milky-sweet summer scent. This the perfect scent for channelling 'Girl from Ipanema' vibes - Astrid Gilberto would be proud. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

WOW am I surprised! This is far better than I imagined. It took me a bit to realize why this smelled....familiar? Someone mentioned they smelled vanilla. I'm like...WHAT vanilla!? The vanilla in this to MY nose, is faint, but smells VERY much like the vanilla in 5:40 pm in Madagascar (immediately after it's sprayed). It doesn't change like 5:40 does. It's light, but it's very appealing to me. This is a green, fresh scent to me. It does last a very long time. It's light, green, cool, and fresh. You will smell it on your clothes in the morning. The bottle is awful. It's hard to spray because it's so awkward. Imagine not having thumbs! Just testing this product before being sold should send you back to the drawing board. This leaves me to wonder... The cap, the CAP, I will just toss in the garbage. I've seen nicer plastic caps on body spray bottles. It's a pretty bottle, but needs that lil somethin somethin...a charm. Yes, the charm would have dazzled me some. It's such a pretty colored bottle too! This scent is worth the price I paid. For the shock I got from it's lovely green scent wellll...I can forgive all the negative. Still...worth the purchase to ME. I even marked that this would be good for fall. It's SO fresh, GREEN, like a new twig you peel the bark off. A favorite scent of mine. This is a bottle of tender wood and the vanilla in 5:40 pm in Madagascar...and something else that's wonderful....what DO I smell? I'm just so happy with this. Stupid ugly cap and worthless bottle...don't pass up this joy to have scent! Might even be a good idea to purchase TWO bottles. I know I'll be SAD when this is gone! Edit This IS a very long lasting scent for me. I feel bad I never mentioned this long ago. I can wear this for a day without touching up.

Gorgeous and unassuming scent with a beautifully luxe & sexy bottle that's hard to keep your hands off of. J Lo's Rio Glow opens with juicy fruit, but a bit less vibrant and colourful than J Lo Live Luxe. I get orange tropical fruits, with peachy undertones and a musky sweet dry down. For the middle I can smell the plum, and it's gorgeous. This is a definite love in my collection. I use perfumes to layer at times, and this is light and fruity perfection.

This smells like a really fruity shampoo. The pear is the standout note in this, it's very tropical and also very greeny, from the green notes. The green notes and pear mix beautifully together later on and the peach is there on the drydown, making it very soapy. It could be a really good summery scent for the daytime, this doesn't last as long as the glows so you will have to reapply!
