Lime & Basil

I dont know how they did it, but this smells like salt and lime. Put your nose to a jar of table salt and its just that, with lime. I love it. I never understood how ppl smell salt with parfumes like Olympea etc. Its like they are told this... this is a "salt note", and taaa daaa this is what salt smells like from now on. I can understand that with these ozonic perfumes it could be perceived as salty sea air but not salt. This is salt. :)

This perfume needs time to develop. When I first sprayed this after buying a fresh bottle I found it horrible - very strong and synthetic. Now more than 6 months have passed and the perfume smells nice, like the notes describe - mainly basil then lime, then vetiver but be aware that this is not a light fragrance, it is quite heavy, more male oriented as there is this aftershave sharpness, especially in the beginning. This also gives it some warmth due to which I think it could be worn in fall as well.

I bought this fragrance because it is inspired by Jo Malone’s Lime Basil & Mandarin, a scent I previously had as a body lotion and loved. However, when I received Jenny Glow Lime & Basil, I immediately noticed a difference. Instead of the light, airy freshness I expected, this version felt denser, heavier, and somewhat overpowering. The opening is sharp and citrusy, but as it settles, the basil becomes quite dominant, giving the scent a more intense herbal quality. While Jo Malone’s version is bright and refreshing, Jenny Glow leans more towards a thick, almost suffocating aroma. A memorable moment was when I was standing in line at KFC, and a girl near me suddenly said out loud, “What is that strong smell?” That pretty much confirmed my thoughts—it’s a scent that demands attention, but not necessarily in a good way. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly alternative to Jo Malone, this might work for you. However, be prepared for a heavier and less refined interpretation. Rating: 2.5/5
