Original Scent Cherry Almond

If you inhale this most glorious scent and give it a "meh", then sorry, IMHO, you've got to have "your head examined", lol! Or you didnt have a mama that used this lotion religiously. My mama was what I would call a middle class, "low maintenance" housewife...when it came to most things concerning herself. She wore her 1960s frosted Maybelline lipstick and Cutex white pearl nail polish way into the 80s. Her platinum blonde hair, she did herself once a month till she had a massive stroke in the 90s (and then I did it for her). And the baby oil and iodine concoction for her deep bronze glow all year long (she lived in California and Hawaii her adult life after marrying an American Soldier in Austria at WWII's end). She wore a few cheapie drugstore fragrances (Charlie,, Intimate, Chantilly and Tabu...another of my favorites) on some days, or no fragrance on others. However, she used only two facial/body beauty products that I can remember...Original white Ivory Soap (so pure it float in water) and Original Jergens Cherry Almond scent Lotion. Even on her face. AND she didnt have a line on that face when she passed away at almost 70 years old from a genetic heart valve defect. Dont get me wrong, on the nights my Dad took her out or we had our annual Christmas party, she would get all dolled up in either white or black satin fur trimmed evening gowns she made herself and put on her Chanel No. 5. But as she cupped my face in her hands to kiss me goodnight, that gorgeous and now, oh so familiar scent would waif around my head and I knew she loved me. Would my mom buy this scent in parfum form today? Probably not, she'd say, "Need to save that money towards my next bottle of Chanel. I'll just run down to the drugstore and buy the lotion". I use both in honor and memory of my mother. It's about time that the folks at Jergens realized they could saturate the world with this scent and capitalize on the revenue its bringing in for them as a duo. Oh and btw, back when I was a fascinated youngster, this lotion (just like Johnson and Johnson's baby oil) came in glass bottles. Jergens in white milk glass. Is it silly of me to transfer my Jergens Original formula into my mom's Original milk glass bottle? The glass bottle of scent sitting next to the milk glass bottle of lotion, make for a nice show on my vanity.

Does it really smell like the lotion?? Way overpriced online around 30$ for smallish bottles. If it was inexpensive I definitely would buy ..

unpretentious, warm, and some lasting power. I purchased a bottle for the nostalgia and at such an affordable price point, why not? the dry down is powdery, but not cloying, and the almond and cherry- honest and true interpretations- linger. I feel as though I have been baking and washing linens for hours and the scent has stained me in the most modest way. It is unseductive, but warm and honest, a chance to play at innocence.

What a let down! I absolutely adore the smell of Jergens lotion, and I was hoping this would have a creamy almond cherry smell much like the lotion, but all I smell once it dries down is straight up MUSK. The initial spray has the cherry almond note then it just disappears into a boring musk. I probably won’t be wearing this much. I’m glad I purchased it for a low price point, it seemed to be difficult to find for a while and people were asking way too much for it. I will keep this as part of my collection, but it didn’t live up to my expectations at all. Still searching for a perfect almond cherry scent. The best I’ve found is Hilde Soliani Una Tira L'Altra. The lotion will have to do because this perfume is NOT capturing the smell!

It does smell like the lotion, but less cherry and more almond and musk. It gets really musky on me and almost leans floral and dated. I like it but it’s not my typical scent profile. I’m glad I have it but it’s not my favorite. A little too mature.

Okay, since I got this perfume today, I will be reviewing it based off of my first impression. Immediately-yes this does smell just like the lotion BUT the below review is seemingly correct-there is less cherry or “sweetness” to this perfume. The cherry seems to have been partially replaced by more of a soapy clean musk. It also dries down to pure powder. The almond note is very beautiful though I wish it was stronger. It would pair better with the Jergen’s lotion or with something like “Sweetheart Cherry” from Bath and Body Works which is basically a much cheaper Tim Ford “Lost Cherry” dupe. This perfume is great but would benefit from added sweetness or almond and cherry notes.

It's slightly sharp to the nose when you initially spray it. (But I sneeze when applying many fragrances.) Then it settles beautifully into the creamy-dreamy, comforting scent you know and love. I will treasure my bottle to the very last drop. It started out as a novelty social media promotional prize, of which I was a grateful recipient; however, when the loyal consumers of Jergens Original Lotion let it be known they wanted to be able to purchase the scent...they actually listened!!

122 years later they realized they could make more money making the perfume. I always loved the scent of the body lotion. Tom Ford move over... One more thing...the word parfume? Who invented that? It should be perfume or parfum.

Smells nice..but it doesn't smell like the same scent to me, my grandmother had Jergens when it was in the glass bottle in the 70's..that smelled like marzipan,I think it smells more musky now

Review for the lotion: yes cherry and yes almond but also soapyyyy. I like it for nostalgia but it does not actually pair well with my cherry or almond fragrances...trying to finish it up.

No they did NOT! I LOVE this scent! I've always thought that Amouage Love Blossom was the upscale version of this fragrance ... I still want OG Jergens though!

It's sold out as of today, but some bundles with the lotion and/or body wash are coming soon. Hope it becomes regularly available.

Definitely one of favorite scents and so happy they have finally made a perfume out of this! I bet it smells amazing!!
