Kun Amo

Let’s get this outta the way first: yes, Kun Amo has that “Baccarat-esque” airy sweetness people love to scream about. But this is NOT BR540. Basta. Not everything sweet and woody needs to live in Baccarat’s shadow, okay? Also, the notes on Fragrantica are wrong. These are the notes, as listed on the Jeroboam Paris Website: Top: Mandarine, Bergamot, Almond Heart: Crunchy Pear, Jasmine, Sea Spray, Raspberry Base: Cedarwood, Sugar, White Musks, Ambery Woods, Cashmeran Now onto the good stuff. Kun Amo opens with a juicy hit of baked, caramelised pear, and it’s fire. Like, legit cozy and addictive. There’s also a sparkle of mandarin and bergamot on top veeeery faint, but that pear... mmmhhh it’s the main event. Think fruit compote but dipped in transparent molecules and wrapped in a skin scent cloak that still projects. There’s also a breezy twist in the middle, maybe that "sea spray" note? It keeps things fresh and stops it from going full dessert mode. Refreshing. It reminds me a lot of JHAG's "Pear Inc" - the thing is Pear Inc isn't long lasting or that strong but holy shit does it have a juicy pear. It's like Jeroboam took Pear Inc, Tuned it and made it FINE, spoiled it with luxury items. This is in my opinion the BEST pear fragrance of all time. The drydown? Musky, woody, smooth. You can definitely feel the ambery cashmeran-vibe settling in, giving it a sexy, second-skin kinda energy. Very long lasting! Performance? Wild. It sticks to you like a sweet memory and leaves a soft trail that makes people do double takes. I personally prefer this over BR540. (It's not that similar I'm telling y'all fr) It's less clinical, more human you know, made with love ;) (kun amo ^^) Final thoughts? Sweet, fruity, airy, sexy, modern without trying too hard. 9/10 my final rating... BR540 who? Kun Amo came to PLAY.

Jeroboam Kun Amo smells like a musky ripe pear that is still fresh with softly smoked woods. Maltol is not listed in notes on retail websites but I can see why something like it could be in here, as it's described as a warm-fruity caramel sweet jam-like odor with an aspect of cotton candy. It doesn't smell like cotton candy to me, but the maltol caramelizes the pear top note and stretches out that sweetness past the opening. Both together are smooth and very likeable. Ex Nihilo Blue Talisman being an ambery fruity scent that activates the beginning stage of migraines for me due to the akigalawood and georgywood, so I don't get the comparison. However, the sweet molecular musk is reminiscent to the kind in Jusbox Cheeky Smile, which has elements of BR540 but more woody like Kun Amo. The almond counters this pairing to help the scent avoid being so syrupy by adding a constant slight powdery base. Kind of reminds me of a softer everyday version of FDB Sirene. The woody notes, kind of oud-like, are apparent in here and at times smoky in the opening hours. That may be the ambery woods which also help with longevity as this lasts 7+ hours on me and projects decently. It’s not bad. Really. There is actually something hidden behind the first and second doors; this fragrance has genuine depth. In fact, it is the most interesting scent from this house so far. If you instantly get hit by the ambroxan, just give it a moment. Perfume is not a quick five-minute bathroom break—it is often a hours-long meditative experience.It feels noble and stands out from others in its fragrance family. The sweetness here is refined, not the cheap, artificial kind you find on Walmart shelves. It is definitely worth a try. The longevity lasts for hours, and the story it tells is highly intriguing. You can clearly feel the creator's sophisticated touch. This isn't some cheap street vendor dumping liters of high-fructose corn syrup and palm oil into a vat.It is a magnificent, fascinating, and high-quality accessory. It pairs perfectly with a genuine cashmere sweater.

I have a weakness for pear and got caught out by this one. Tried it, went home, couldn’t stop thinking about it, and was ultimately compelled to purchase. Sweet and clean at first as others have noted. Then it does something unusual on me in the midst of the dry down - it goes in kind of a celery root direction! I found that both strange and amusing, and I’m sure someone could explain, but I can’t. Maybe the ambroxan? Or the “woodsy notes” mentioned in the pyramid? The celery root window passes in probably less than two minutes, and the fragrance settles into the high key sweetness of pear balanced by a bass line of oud-like smokiness. Usually I only like the idea of smokiness as I tend to find it super masculine, but because there is balance here I really enjoy it. This is a fun ride that will keep you sniffing your wrists as you enjoy its transitions.

Crisp pear, crystal rock candy lollipop, faint spicy cigarette smoke, clean musk and sparkling ambroxan. I read elsewhere that there is a sweet almond accord as well! The dry down has a spicy crystal woods accord, the same type of spicy amborxon that BR540 the Extrait version has, but it does NOT smell like BR. *DO NOT OVER SPRAY!!! Tread softly! * The vibe: Sparkling Scandinavian makeup, pink Polly Pocket case as a pillbox, cigarette box with Lisa Frank stickers, rock candy lollipops, a Japanese Chloë Sevigny magazine, 90’sY2K style and a cute resting b*tch face. Loves “All The Things She Said” by t.A.T.u. If you love Apollonia, Anamor All That Matters, You, Radiant Nectar... you will adore this.

I love this right off the bat -- it's a very crunchy, candied pear -- it has a very distinctive texture! I can see the comparisons to B.R., but while that one annoys me, this one delights me! Kun Amo is STRONG, however, and I could imagine this being potentially headache inducing in the wrong moment or if over-sprayed, so while I love it, I don't know how often I'd reach for it, but I love how much personality this has. It's a fun one with a bold, bubbly personality! I may need this in my collection down the road :-)

Juicy cooked pear with a crunchy brown sugar coating with Champagne bubbles covering the scent bubble. Dry down is eternal and the trail stays for the whole day and night. This is master level fragrance but it’s a commitment. You have to allow it to take over your whole day. I used a sample for the office and all I can say is I was complimented 15times and everyone loved it but couldn’t place the notes they smelt. I went home that night and brought a full bottle... prepare to fall in love.

This is amazing perfume. Its fruity from the pear and woody. Its molecule fragrance, you can smell it. Its aquatic and fresh. Pear is like caramelised, bake pear. The longevity is amazing and projection too. I am very happy for this one.

The pear in here is at the base...it smells overall like lux candy..it does remind of Baccarat Rouge for sure...but it has this Nicki Minaj Pink Friday or Mugler Angel Nova freshness..And the base is tonka bean...

Extremely musky! For me, it's too synthetic and chemical. I do faintly feel the fruits (the pear) but mostly I feel the chemicals. I agree that it's very similar to BR540. It has a very very similar vibe.

Reminds me of Merit by Retrospect but this is soapier. I like it. Clean crisp pear, ambroxan, dries down a bit fuzzy and like fresh sheets.

I get ZERO pear. This is Ambroxan, musk and wood, and Im not familiar enough with maltol to comment on it.

First 45 minutes of Kun Amo are absolutely magical. The best pear I have felt in a perfume, unlike others I did not get a caramilized/gourmand/baked quality out of it - it felt very fresh, almost fermented and bubbly, imagine overripe pear dipped in a dry prosecco of some sorts? Sillage is strong - I can easily feel it on my wrists even without making an effort, for me the scent leans more feminine and it is hard for me to imagine it on a male. The issue I have with this and why it is just a like even despite the marvelous opening is the overbearing muskiness that arrives after the first hour. Pear is almost gone and I can only smell it if I imagine it is still there. What I get here trying to balance out the suffocating musk is sea breeze. The salty, oceanic quality of the scent does try very hard for me, but unfortunately me and musk are simply not a match. I even went trough all my "loved" list and guess what they have in common - no musk. So unfortunately - it is me, not the scent. Overly musky scents even though might appeal to others around me (I did get compliments) does not sparkle joy for me. I wear my scents for me, not for others, so having this on my wrists past the top/heart point was simply not for me. And given the fact that staying power for this is enormous (8+ hours) that would be the scent I would be stuck with all day if I don't reapply every hour or so which for the price tag does seem ridicilous for me. In conclusion - lovely, somewhat unique scent due to fermented pear and oceanic notes, but not for me. Worth a try for musk lovers though - there is A LOT of it.

Main accord of this is "musky?? ESSCOOOSE ME?! It definitely has the same vibe as BR540 due to the ambroxan. If you're unfamilian with BR540, it smells kinda mildly sweet, sterile, and like a dentist's office. This is like BR540 with a woody, unlit cigarette, with pear to freshen it up, but those notes don't really last on me. I think if you mixed a tiny bit of Richwood from Xerjoff into BR540, you'd get a similar effect. Very strong on the ambroxan, so if you like BR540, but want something just slightly different.... you could just layer 540. Or try this one. Honerable mentions: - Ana Abyedh Rouge is in this same category: cotton candy edition, very similar to BR540 Extrait - Club De Nuit Untold is BR540, grilled pineapple-edition, also mostly ambroxan Kun Amo, Ana Abyedh Rouge and CDN Untold can easily be layered for a more interesting effect. Or just worn on different parts on the body so you get slightly different whafts throughout the day. I love putting different things on my left arm, right arm, left leg and right leg, and not get bored of my perfume throughout the day. I really wish I had access to Blue Talisman to compare it to this and the other ambroxan-heavy scents. BTW: Molecule 02 from Escentric Moleculecules is a totally different ambroxan.

There was a great discount on the 30 ml bottle, so I took advantage of it. I had previously tried Vespero and Gozo from the brand — Gozo felt more feminine, while Vespero came across as a slightly harsh Aventus-style interpretation, and since I already have many similar fragrances, I found it unnecessary. I hadn’t bought Blue Talisman before because it leans a bit feminine in the drydown, but this fragrance balances that aspect really well — it feels truly unisex. I don’t have anything similar in my collection, so I added it right away. It has a sweet profile, but not in an overwhelming way — like a lightly cooked pear sprinkled with powdered sugar that continues throughout the scent. The molecule inside occasionally adds a saffron-like, slightly sharp depth. I liked that uniqueness and decided to get it. The performance is outstanding — it lasted almost 14–16 hours on my skin, with strong projection for about 6–7 hours, and then a noticeable scent bubble in close range afterward.

Can people please stop comparing everything to BR540!? It's driving me insane! Its reputation far exceeds its beauty; its hype is getting boring now. Anyway! Kun Amo; where to start? I like this perfume a lot, but I won't be committing to a full bottle: there is pear, but I don't get it in the opening, I think it's deeper than that, somewhat overshadowed by ambrox but not offensively. This fragrance is moreish and addicting. The musk is soft and balanced with something floral. Not like the musks I'm used to, or the musks I normally go for (I do love a stinky deer musk). The musk in Kun Amo is cashmere-like and soft. Cuddly. There's a real 90s designer feel to Kun Amo, like a—what is now—vintage Gucci. It's quite golden, hazy, dream-sequence-like, and it sparkles close to the skin. Beautiful but not for me. Oh and it last for about 900 hours.

Musk bomb maybe some pear leaning tendencies. It's so much musk for me this becomes an active/large spaces kind of scent. Great if you're spending the day outdoors or at the gym. I guess the voting for this is very recent however if you're a conventional guy I guess this certainly leans femme. Sillage I felt was medium but within that space it's intense. Too much for the office. It's a like nice enough to enjoy for a day or two. I don't notice the BR540 myself off the top of my head due to the fruity twist but every time I see it mentioned I agree there's some BR540 in there.

Not what I would call a "pear fragrance". Opens very fruity, then goes to pineapple-smoky, then settles into a kind of Baccarat Rouge-type scent. The drydown is similar to the BR540 dupe: Ana Abyedh Rougefrom Lattafa - a huge amount of ambroxan. Honestly, between paying for this and Ana Abyedh Rough... I'd stick with the latter, even though none of these quite appeal to me. The top notes of this are totally absent from Ana Abyedh, but they disappear within the 15 first minutes on me anyway.

Fruity , sea notes, amber, sweet. Put your nose to it and the musk comes to the fore. Not my style but noting wrong with it if ocean fragrances are your thing. Projection is meh, as it comes and goes a few hours after application. Longevity is off the charts. Stepped into to the shower the next morning and poof, filled the enclosure with a BR540 vibe.

Reminiscent of For Your Love with a bit more white fruit. Not sure what these people are on talking about musk. Sweet “ambergris”, and pear. There’s probably a soft white musk to support the base but this is ambroxan and pear all the way.

Fresh pear and cigarettes. Not in a bad way. Tremendous performance for a “fresh” scent.

How can notes be so wrong here? Anyway, the fragrance opens with an interesting almond and citrus accord, quickly shifting to pear and ethyl maltol. As it develops, it becomes near-twin to Blue Talisman, with its powerful musks with pear undertone. It's good, cheaper alternative to Blue Talisman if you don't want to go middle eastern clone route. Good genderless signature scent for every occasion.

Smooth blend of pear and ambroxan that comes across clean and wearable, but it doesn’t deliver a wow. The pear gives a fresh, watery brightness on top, while the ambroxan pushes the musky-sweet base that feels familiar in Jeroboam’s style. It reminds me of Insulo’s sweetness, only with a fruity twist, but overall, it doesn’t stand out much on its own. Pleasant, versatile, but prominent

I love pear and I love musk. But I don't like Kun Amo :( Seeing the comparison with Baccarat I started to doubt about this perfume being in my liking zone, but tried it anyway. To my nose this perfume is dark, deep. It has some spice on it, some latex scent. It smells synthetic and smoky. I don't think it is a bad perfume, but it is so far from my comfort zone that I can't appreciate it. Had to scrub it. The scent itself is quite interesting, tho. Just not for me.

I got this for the pear note that I don’t really detect. It’s almost a vintage smelling designer scent to my nose. The longevity is outstanding.

Oh my sweet lord. It’s probably the first time I find myself agreeing with the “this perfume reminds me of..” It’s like Blue Talisman and BR540 had a baby. A baby that resembles both. On initial spray it starts of woody and ambroxan [BR540] but rather quickly turning in a fresh pear like scent while musk is waving in the background [Blue Talisman]. HOWEVER- it does settle in to be its own unique scent. Is it the Maltol ? I’m not familiar with that particular note. I do smell the pear, whereas a lot of reviewers say they don’t. No smoke, to my nose that is, and nowhere near *extreme* musk- believe me, I have some powerful musk fragrances and this is NOT! It’s an intriguing fragrance to say the least. Sweet, woody, musky... it’s kind of a do it all. I’m still testing the longevity and silage. But for now it’s waiting patiently in my shopping cart

Very complex perfume. Unexpectedly complex. It starts off with a juicy pear, and may seem rather quiet. So you may want to add one-two sprays. Give it a few minutes and you will feel its power. The musk joins the pear within 10 minutes and boosts it so much that you just feel drown in this juicy sticky poison. When it is colder outside, the watery, salty and oceanic accent come out. But they add the musky pear. The hotter it is outside, the quieter becomes the pear and the musk becomes very loud. So it is my choice from now and will the end of March probably, Do not want anything other than this on me. Just fell in love. Can't stop using it. Adding a spray each time I go out. Can do nothing but wonder how such a musky perfume can smell so f...g good!

Nope. This is far too sharp and ambroxan forward for my liking. I do see the similarities with Blue Talisman but that is a far better blended, easier to wear version of Kun Amo.

Compared it with blue talisman, it’s so similar and so redundant, if you have one no need for the other

This is like BR 540 + God of Fire + Blu Talisman. 90% god of fire though!
